Book #2 starts right where we left our two darlings in HALO.
They just spent the night together and Viper was pretty happy with how things went. He’s not finished with his angel. BUT – the next morning … Halo is gone.
But of course he’s not gone gone – he just thought that Viper wasn’t one for cuddling and awkward mornings after – so he went back to his own room!
That was what happened in the first couple of chapters – and that’s all I’m telling you – I don’t want to spoil anything. BUT since this is a trilogy – we know that we probably won’t yet get our happily ever after! But we’ll love watching Viper and Halo fight for it! And don’t worry – it’s not a huge-ass horror cliffy. It’s a pretty great cliffy really.
I really enjoyed this book. It wasn’t all that mega exciting. Nothing much happens, it’s just Halo and Viper falling for each other and some fun band stuff and some fighting/arguing – but no real über-excitement. I was expecting some more paparazzi or fans or scandal or … anything really. But nothing happened – WHICH WAS NOT BAD. I loved the book – I love all the guys so much. It was a sweet rock star romance. More November Rain than Welcome To The Jungle if you know what I mean.
I really enjoyed reading it. I’m hoping for a tiny bit more in the third book!
I can’t wait to read ANGEL!
***5 ‘You Play, I Play’ Stars***
Ok, I almost lost the kindle there for a sec either to death by freezer or death by wall, but thankfully that was avoided and I absolutely loved how this chapter for Viper and Halo ended up working out for them.
I still adore Viper and Halo, that hasn’t changed, and I thoroughly enjoyed watching as they navigated what they were becoming to each other. I loved seeing Halo’s strength and determination come through as he not only figured out the music business, but what he wanted, and what he was willing to accept when it came to Viper. And as for Viper, he is still all kinds of cynical alpha af smexy male, but those moments of sincere vulnerability made me fall for him even more. And as for the smexy…lemme just say that they are simply nuclear!
As much as I love and adore Halo and Viper, I’m also feeling all kinds of love for Killian, Slade and Jagger. These guys are so much fun in this one and I loved getting to know them just a little better. And while that ending doesn’t fall in the “cliffy from hell” category, it still has me making grabby hands at it because of all the goodness I know is coming my way.
Side note: THAT cover is everything. I want to lick it *BSEG*

Viper is book two in the Fallen Angels series and we find ourselves picking up right where Halo left off. Viper and Halo have such amazingly intense chemistry together. These two are SO DAMN HOT, it literally pours off the pages. Halo finds himself falling deeper and faster than he ever thought possible, and for a man, none the less. Viper is falling even harder and is fighting it every step of the way. You know how it goes, fall in love, get scared shitless, run like a coward and hurt the one person you don’t want to hurt in the process. Luckily, he gets his head out of his ass. I can’t wait for the third and final book, Angel, to see where all the sudden fame and fortune lead Halo and how his and Viper’s relationship handle it.
Angela – Alphas Do It Better Book Blog
First things first, this cover is stunning. The colors are gorgeous and “Viper” is exactly how I picture him–seductive and sensual temptation wrapped in cocksure perfection.
Brooke Blaine and Ella Frank continue their phenomenal Fallen Angel series with more of Halo and Viper’s smoking hot story. As the front man and lead guitarist of a chart topping rock band, their need for each other needs to stay hidden from the public. Halo isn’t ready to tell his family he’s falling for another man, and Viper isn’t ready for a relationship at all, no matter how tempted he is by his Angel…
From the deliciously descriptive passion to the soul crushing angst, this has the makings of an epic love story. It’s written from the heart by two very talented authors and I’m loving every minute!
Oh boy, did I enjoy this read? Immensely! The bubble with Viper and Halo in the center was extremely hot, these two men are scorching… flammable together!!
The continuation of Viper and Halo in the Fallen Angel series was excellent.
Viper wakes up in a empty bed and oh boy it frustrates the hell out of him. His mood goes below zero. Guess who will have a hard time?
The rock band Fallen Angel is doing so well there will be another record and even a tour.
All members are thrilled and they know it’s all because of Halo. Meanwhile Halo and Viper are spending most nights together. Besides their carnal needs, just under the surface are feelings, denied feelings.
But, oh well, they enjoy each other, no dating no strings just joy. Especially Viper. He wants it to be a temporary thing, never anything more. Halo takes what he can get and is easy-going about it.
While Halo is surprised and elated by little affectionate gestures, Viper is oblivious about what he is doing. Until he is not!!
I couldn’t take my eyes of the pages. It was so explosive and intense. The possessive claiming, not with words but with unbelievable sensual actions, was delicious to watch. They touched each other with as much passion as they touched their instruments. Try to visualize that.
This read was so vibrantly written! It was enchanting watching two opposites, with so many passionate fireworks, going on around each other. A potent and forcefully written story with a fabulous plot. The whole story was captivating, entertaining, and enthralling. Not one page was uneventful. A lot of feelings are exposed, a lot of tension, sensuality, passion, hurt , and love.
It was a delicious and emotional read.
I’m looking forward to the next installment. Is it April already?
This book … Viper and Halo … their chemistry … oh my … seriously!! With HALO, we got tension coiled so tight you were able to cut it with a knife – but with VIPER we get … a blazing hot inferno. Plain and simple. Wowza!
But it’s not all just sex and chemistry. Oh no. The band is also growing closer, hitting it big in the process, while Viper and Halo slowly fall deeper and deeper for one another … no matter how much they – mostly and especially Viper – try to hide behind denial.
These two … they are such an unlikely match.
Viper, who was never prone to relationship-y entanglements. Viper, the rock god, the alpha male, used to getting what he wants when he wants it and acting like a petulant child more often than anyone cares to admit. And Viper, who is reaffirming his fling with his angel being non-feeling-related a little too often …
And Halo. Halo, whose world has basically done a one eighty in a very short period of time. Halo, who is new to this fortune and fame thing, to being noticed and recognized by the public. Halo, who suddenly not only has to face his very real attraction to a guy, which alone is something he never thought would ever happen, but also the fact that there might be even more to it than intense chemistry …
Yes, these two are absolutely right for one another – opposites attract, after all –, but are still very much a work in progress.
This is a rock star romance that is very low on band drama. VIPER is focusing on the band finding themselves, composing and recording their first album together and hitting it big in the process. There are no paparazzi or scandalous events, no overzealous fans – which gives Viper and Halo the time and space they need to find each other and learn about one another. It’s sweet and swoon-worthy and sexy and emotional. Buuut we all know their story is not over yet – thank god! – and I’m sure Ms. Frank and Ms. Blaine still have one or two surprises up their sleeves, muhaha.
OMG! Viper and Angel are just my everything! They just fit together like one completes the other and make my heart just sing. Lots of angst and Viper making me want to kick him in the…butt. I’m so excited about this pairing and can’t wait to see where they go next. The band is on the way to superstardom and I’m so worried for my guys. What will their management do next? What about all of their fans? I’m on pins and needles…waiting!
Well, hot damn, Viper, book two in the Fallen Angel series, picked right up where Halo ended. And seriously, who can resist a sexy AF rock star? Not me and certainly not Viper or Halo!
In Viper, the romance between Viper and Halo really gets going. No matter how much Viper tries to deny what’s developing between them—which is something that fuels Killian, Jagger and Slade’s snarky comments.
Oof, there’s so much heat and tension between them. The heat, dear lord, singed my fingers as I swiped my kindle. And the tension was palpable with Viper’s confusion about his feelings toward Halo. And his fear of what all those feelings meant. I loved seeing a bit of Viper’s vulnerability.
And I really liked how Halo didn’t push things with Viper, that he really just let things happen, until he just couldn’t . . .
And that ending! My god. So much going on, so much revealed and so much more to come. I can’t wait to see what happens with Viper and Halo in Angel.
Loving This Series!!!
Omg…. That ending was everything!!!!
All the feels for this amazing read.
I’m loving this Rock World.
Next!!!!!
Viper is book two in the Fallen Angel series by Brooke Blaine and Ella Frank! Holy Wow! Where the first book in this series was a little slower burn as these two authors established the connection between Viper and Halo, this second book is flippin on fire. I’ve become obsessed with these two.
Halo, Viper and their other three band mates are off to Miami for a few months to record their new album. It’s also a time for them to bond as a band. They are living in a huge mansion living a life Halo never imagined. And that bonding, well, most of it was happening between he and Viper. The chemistry between these two has built into a crescendo that won’t be ignored. Viper knows he should leave Halo alone, or rather Angel as he calls him. But he just can’t.
Viper doesn’t do relationships, he doesn’t do feelings. But he just can’t seem to walk away from his Angel. The pull never seems to dim. They agree that this is just a mutual temporary thing between them, but Viper finds himself feeling things he doesn’t want to feel. Halo is just the opposite, he is a relationship guy. But, he knows the score. He knows this isn’t going to be a forever thing. So he decides to try to live in the now and just enjoy the time he’s been given with this man he is falling for, the first man he’s ever had feelings for.
When they returned to New York after the album was finished, it was time to return to real life. The entire time they were in Miami, it was kind of their own little bubble. But now, everything is different. Halo’s entire life is about to change when the new album releases.
Talk about scorching! These two burn up the pages in this book. I loved watching Viper fight the feelings he was developing but wish he had been more willing to recognize and accept them. Halo is so good for him. He challenges him, he pushes him, he makes him smile. But in the end, Viper is going to have to accept that this is more, that what they have is more, or he’s going to have to let Halo go.
This series has to be read in order. The first three books are the continuing relationship between Viper and Halo. I loved how the guys in the band give Halo every ounce of respect that he is due for what he brought to their band. But I also love the way Halo doesn’t accept the praise but gives it back to the band as a whole. These five men are clearly meant to be together. Halo was always meant to be a part of them. But, are Halo and Viper also meant to be? I can’t wait to read the next book, book three, Angel, as the band skyrockets to fame, and to see if Viper and Halo are able to survive it.
At this point I have read 15 or so books by Ella Frank but this is my first book from Brooke Blaine, (other than Jingle Bell Rock their holiday novella) and I am always surprised at how good the stories are!!! This year I am going to devour every single book by Ella Frank and Brooke Blaine that I can get my hands on!!
Halo book one in the Fallen Angels series was such a good introduction to Viper and Halo but with this book we really got to see their connection go from fun to much more. It is almost impossible not to love Halo, but this is the book that made me fall in love with Viper. We got so much more of his story as well as how sweet he could be when he wasn’t trying to keep his feelings at bay. Towards the end of the book when we see Viper lose his control on what is happening with him and Halo it seriously broke my heart. The things he said would have broken anyone’s heart but the way that Frank and Blaine were able to write that delivery was so incredible. My heart broke for both Halo and Viper, but we did eventually get some good news out all that turmoil. Now I am off to read Angel because I must know what is going to happen with their HEA and if Viper and Halo can make it through the drama that I am sure is to come after the ending of this book.
“I think you’re extraordinary.”
That’s one word I would definitely use to describe this story- extraordinary. It had moments that took my breath away, moments where my heart ached, moments that I literally had to fan myself they were so hot. These two main characters, Halo and Viper, have sexual chemistry in spades and it continues in this incredible read.
Viper is a continuation of the book, Halo of the Fallen Angel series, and I honestly would highly recommend reading that book before you pick up Viper versus trying to read this as a standalone. Whereas our two hotties first come together in Halo, this book follows them as they navigate the waters of their attraction and sexual relationship and what it is they have building between them.
What makes this book so special is the two main characters. Viper is the dark hunk, the jaded one, the pessimistic jackass while Halo is the angelic pretty boy, the innocent, the romantic optimist and yet despite their differences, their combination is not only extremely sexy but also sweet and ultimately a true love fairy tale in my eyes. I love when opposites attract and you can see how each makes the other grow and how they become an even better whole, together.
Viper, the tell them like it is bad boy, may just be one of my top book boyfriends. He holds his heart close to the vest but we FINALLY get a glimpse of the inner man and his past in this story. He comes across as so self-assured in his music world and just as dominating with Halo, but we also begin to see his vulnerabilities and another side of him in his relationship with Halo that shows there’s more depth to his character.
I really came to like Angel in this book. He wasn’t just a submissive guy (which is how I sort of viewed him in Halo) who Viper could push and push. Although he likes Viper’s dominating ways, he holds his own and can effectively dismantle Viper’s walls even if Viper can’t see it or want it.
I loved how this book delved deeper into the hearts and minds of these two men. Sometimes a full scene would take several chapters but in doing so, the authors really fleshed out what they were feeling and I soaked up every minute. And let me just say this about the cover- WOW! It totally captured the essence of Viper as I see him. This book, and this series is a must read!
All the stars and all the LOVE!
This book had me happy, and laughing, then nervous on the edge of my seat, devastated, and then my heart was patched up perfectly! I can’t get enough of these rockers! I can’t wait to dig into book 3. I really wish and hope and pray that there will be a book 4 in the future.
So hot !!!
This book was so hot. I was looking forward to this book its the second book in the series. Things have are now getting better for Fallen Angels. TBD are now in the past and Halo as there front man Trent is now in past there even better know then they were then. But things dont alway go as smooth has there music when Viper is in your band.
Viper and Halo are just amazing together and in this book thing between them get hotter and a lil bit complicated. Halo is open to have a relationship with Viper but Viper is so closed off. He doesn’t want a relationship he just wants fun but Halo can’t help but get close to Viper when they spend all there time together while creating there best album ever. Viper tries to hide his feels but it’s hard when them feelings push forward. He just can’t let Halo in no matter what he is feeling.
I really enjoyed this book its so hot the story is really good and had me hooked from the start. I really luvd The fuel POV it just made The book so much better getting to know what they were thinking. The answers I wanted from the first book I got but know I have so many more. Viper and Halo’s story is so good. There so so good together but Viper’s issues just get in the way. He needs to open up to what he has in front of him. The connection he has with Halo is like no other he needs to let he guard down.
I would highly recommend this book if your into m/m and rockstar you will luv it. The story is amazing and the characters are really good. This series is the first I’ve read from theses author but i know I’ll be reading more from them. I’m really looking forward to there next book. I’m hoping these authors do more with this band I would luv more from Killian Slade and Jagger.
VIPER is the second book in the Fallen Angel series by Brooke Blaine and Ella Frank. It continues the story of Viper and Halo(aka Angel) and their band Fallen Angel. It is steamy and sexy. Rockstars are the best!
This book has some angst, drama, emotion, steam and comedy. Overall great read. I cant wait for book 3.
Viper continues exactly where book 1 left off. Here we get further in to the blossoming relationship between Halo and Viper. The chemistry and intensity is still very much present in this story and the steamy scenes are still very hott and explosive, but now we get a bit more in depth into their feeling and emotions.
I really love these two and I enjoyed reading this story. The band members provided much needed hilarity and support.
This story will make you believe in love and it will have you laughing and swooning. I was hooked from beginning to end and read it all out in one go. I can’t wait for the next book in the series. I loved it and would highly recommend it to all lovers of MM romances.
Viper!
Oh these ladies tore my heart out before putting it back together. Viper and Halo are a hot combination of sweet and simmering with Viper actually bringing some of the sweetness. It was sweet to see the small glimpses of sweetness Viper could bring to the relationship. I can’t wait to read Angel!
The magnetism between Halo and Viper from the very beginning has been incendiary and following straight on from Book 1, these boys don’t let up with the heat!
But this instalment is more rife with self admissions, questioning of emotions and both characters making decisions about what they can and cannot accept; and makes for a climax full of all the feels.
Some might not like this format and the somewhat lack of any other real drama surrounding these characters and the band as they are launched onto the world stage, but I loved the progression of these men in their personal emotional growth, particularly Viper whose walls have been set in stone for a long time.
The authors have been respectful of their journey to this point, and I’m glad they’ve chosen this narrative and not been more focused on over filling the story with drama, which will no doubt be the highlight of the third offering, and conclusion in Book 3, Angel.
Bring it on!!!
And these two keep the pages turning. You can’t stop reading about Halo and Viper. Gahhhh…I have no words except READ THIS SERIES!!!
Highly recommended.
I am wrecked. Ruined. My heart is completely wasted. I’m dying a thousand deaths and I LOVE IT!! How am I suppose to go on living a normal life until Angel drops? Ella Frank and Brooke Blaine are pure magic. Straight up magic. These characters and the world they’ve created is nothing short of all consuming and awe inspiring. Viper picks up where Halo left off. The connection and chemistry between Halo and Viper is OFF THE CHARTS. They continue to navigate their relationship, their music and the implications for both them and their band. I can feel every emotion. The passion, the uncertainty, the lust, the anger, the pure bone level need for these men to be together is palpable. I devoured every delicious word and and starving for the next book.
