The devil has a name, and it’s Cristiano de la Rosa. On my wedding day, he was the last man I expected to see standing at the altar. He wants to make me his queen. His brother wants to rescue his princess.Getting Cristiano to lose control becomes the name of the game, and the stakes are life and death. But as truth and lies blur, loyalty is tested, and our chemistry threatens to reach the melting … the melting point, the prize grows less clear. Either freedom no longer means what I think it does, or Cristiano is as devious as everyone says, and he’s mastered the art of playing my mind.
All I know for certain is that nothing is certain. And all you need to know?
This is a love story.
But even love stories have to end.

Jessica Hawkins has completely stolen my breath away with the newest installment in her addictively captivating White Monarch Trilogy. This phenomenal author has managed to wholeheartedly captivate my body, mind, and soul once again while knocking me right on my a** with the twists and turns she throws at us every step of the way. Her beautifully raw storytelling ability has perfectly captured this twisted world.
Cristiano de la Rosa is my ultimate dream man and he’s even managed to steal every inch of my heart and soul. Just when I thought I couldn’t fall for him more, he surprises me with his compassion and love for his new wife, Natalia Cruz. Every time I think I finally have him figured out, he does something totally unexpected, leaving me swooning. I just wish Natalia would open up her sweet little naïve eyes and finally realize that everything he is doing is to protect her…the one he loves, even if he hasn’t admitted it yet. I even have a small inkling that she’s starting to fall for him too.
There is so much I want to say about this story right now, but I am still beyond speechless from that cliffhanger ending! Jessica Hawkins sure know how to keep us on our toes and now I am counting down the days until I can FINALLY get my hands on Violent Triumphs, the final book in the White Monarch Trilogy!
#IsItNovemberYet?! #NeedItNow #ILoveCristiano
Jesus have mercy on my soul but I can’t help but be in love with Cristiano.
This book is full of twists and turns that it puts you on the edge of your seat the entire ride. I’m so happy to see Natalia finally starting to open her eyes (and mind) to the cartel world around her.
Cristiano. I have a deep obsession with him. He is one of the best male characters I’ve read in a long time. His dominance and power radiate off the page and leave you thirsty for more. I wanted MORE Cristiano chapters in the book but having just a few from him made them that more powerful.
The ending of this book had me screaming “NOOOOO” and shaking my head violently! I had a feeling it was coming but at the same time I didn’t WANT it to happen!
Jessica Hawkins is taking me deep into the Calavera Cartel world and I do not want to leave it! Book 3, Violent Triumphs releases November 12th and I may die a little each day until I get it!
#CristianoIsEverything #BookObsessed #ChristianoIsMine
Oh, my word. I’m so not a cliffhanger person but I’m a Jessica Hawkins person so of course I’m going to read her books as soon as possible, instead of waiting for all three installments of the trilogy to be complete. I swear I wanted to throw my kindle when I realized that the book was over-because I NEED the rest!
If you haven’t read Violent Delights stop and go read that first. This book is not a standalone. Trust me, you want to start from the beginning.
I hate spoilers so I definitely won’t be giving any away. What I will give away is that I absolutely freaking adore Cristiano. I mean, seriously. I loved being inside his head in this book, seeing his thought process. He completely fascinated me.
Natalia didn’t fascinate me. I’m assuming some people may be annoyed be her in this book…and I was and I wasn’t. Because I know this Author will have something epic for her. Natalia is coming into her own-at her own pace. I’m intrigued to see what is in store for her next.
I’m going to say I read the last couple of chapters in this book feeling uneasy-in a good way because I’m attached to these characters. My palms were damp and my heart definitely raced and that cliffhanger? It’s perfect for this book, really, but man I need the next book NOW.
Jessica Hawkins is a smart Author. These characters tell their story and she just brings you along for the ride. I absolutely recommend this book and I can’t wait for the next one.
Violent Ends is book 2 in the White Monarch trilogy and holy smokes. I have been looking forward to reading this since Violent Delights left me on the edge of my seat, gasping for air. Violent Ends takes off where Violent Delights left off. In this installment we delve deeper into what makes Cristiano tick. Natalia is caught between Diego and Cristiano; two brothers who will stop at nothing to have her. I thoroughly enjoyed this fast paced, angsty thrill ride and can’t wait to see how their story ends. The characters and story line are well developed as we have come to expect of Jessica Hawkins.
Start where the first book end, Ms. Hawkins took her time from Nat’s POV. The betrayel she feels, The blindfold she wear for living her lives this time being deaf and blind to the world she’s living, and the trust she missplace.
We see how Nat struggle to the “new” world upon her by being Christiano wife. How she look Christiano with so much fear and loathsome for her blindfold is so thick with prejudice without an ounce of willingness to look for maybe…just maybe she’s wrong.
How Nat finally see how her trust being violated in the most disgracefull way a man could do.
How finally Nat see that maybe, just maybe the evil is not really the evil out to harm her.
And Christiano… Like all the man in Ms. Hawkins books, Christiano is that hard man on the outside who would only kneel for his woman. The man that his enemy see as the devil but really he have so many layers and secrets to see the real him. And he got one dirty mouth mylawwd this man can burn me so good with his words and left me wanting more.
While Diego… I’ll get the shovel ready and Bury him. That’s all I’m saying about this man.
In Violent Ends, we have dual POV between Christiano and Natalia. Ms. Hawkins maintain her crown as Queen of angst with Nat’s POV while giving us so much yumminess in Christiano. While I’m not Nat’s biggest fan in first few chapters for the blindfold she keeps wearing, I understand the betrayed feelings she must endure. I understand her fear and anger. That’s why I love when she start growing her backbone and learn how to be the woman Christiano sees her. The queen.
And the end… The ending of this book…. The huge cliffy ending of this book…. I just wanna say, I need the next book tomorrow
5 #TeamCristiano stars !!!
Hello, book hungover. I think that you’ll stay with me for some time…
Jessica Hawkins blew my mind. I was waiting impatiently for Violent Ends and from the very first sentence I was completely hooked. I don’t know if it’s Jessica’s writing, remarkable storyline or just the mix of both, but I was so engrossed with this story that outside world didn’t exist until I was done with this book. Who am I kidding, I’m still not over it! Even though the romance alone is really slow-paced, all the other things made me sitting on edge. I couldn’t put this book down even for a second!
Violent Ends starts where the previous book ended. Natalia and Cristiano are in the church after their wedding and despite her resistance, a whole new life awaits for her. But that doesn’t mean that she’ll be perfect, obedient wife from now on. After what she heard about Calavera cartel she refuses to bow to its leader. Especially when she still believes in Cristiano’s involvement in her mother’s death. But with every passing day the doubts arise. When the one who Natalia loved betrayed her in the worst possible way she doesn’t know who or what to believe anymore. Considering that the rumors about Calavera were exaggerated and this whole world is not what it seems to be can she let her guard down?
I was #TeamCristiano already in the first book, but right now I’m his biggest cheerleader. He’s so intense, intimidating and sexy! This book shows us two sides of his character. One is a ruthless and dangerous boss, the other is possessive and protective husband and I’m completely in love with both! He could easily force his new bride to bend to his will, but he wants her willing. And I’m really surprised that Natalia didn’t give in, because Cristiano’s dirty mouth is something else. I was reading his filthy innuendos all flushed and wishing that it could be me in the front of him. I’m not joking.
I can totally understand Natalia’s confusion and mistrust. But on the other hand I couldn’t stand her stubborness and that she wasn’t open-minded. Her inner battle between her mind and her body was also complicated, because she coulnd’t deny that she was attracted to Cristiano. All the secrets and unspoken truth was messing with her head and I think that it was the main reason why she couldn’t let go. But with every new revelation and shock that followed, she started to understand more. And we could see the true Queen in the making.
The sexual tension between these two was hot AF! The battle of wills only added to the intensity that was pouring from this story. The chemistry, unfulfilled lust and every passionate interaction between Natalia and Cristiano kept me on the edge of my seat. I couldn’t get enough of them!
And that ending?! Tell me Mrs. Hawkins, why do you hate me? It was like a shot to my poor heart!
I could sing the praises all day, but it still wouldn’t give this book justice. You NEED to read it. I’m generally easy to please when it comes to my books, but Jessica Hawkins didn’t write just a book. She created extraordinary tale that pulls us into the whirlwind of emotions and doesn’t let go. I’m completely addicted to this series and I can’t wait for the next part! MUST READ!
Wow! With just one more book to go the intensity in Violent Ends is off the charts! Character and plot rich, this book races along telling its intricate story at a cracking pace. Cristiano becomes more intriguing (and hotter) and Natalia becomes deeper as she starts to think things through. Her situation demands more of her than knee jerk reactions and assumptions.
The cast has also fleshed out and brings another level of interest to the book.
I have thoroughly enjoyed this second book in the White Monarch series. It is a well crafted and exciting addition which has me clutching my poor pearls in anxiety and demanding the third book asap!! Fabulous!
After that climactic ending in Violent Delights, I was eagerly anticipating the arrival of this sequel and it exceeded my expectations. Cristiano isn’t letting go of Natalia now that he has her and she’s determined to find a way out of this arrangement. Natalia grew up thinking one thing and currently she gets to bear witness to something else entirely and this is really screwing with her head. She is so used to being told limited things, while so much other stuff is kept hidden from her so she lived the life of the sheltered cartel princess and daughter, thinking that this was not her preferred future because there is always bloodshed over power and money and she can barely stomach it.
Natalia matures more in this book. She forms her own opinions now that she has enough evidence to contrast Diego with Cristiano and who is telling her the truth. Although she trusts no one, she is also able to distinguish lies and betrayal more easily. I liked the honesty between she and Cristiano, even though she’s constantly stumped by him because he makes ambiguous comments and then she immediately jumps to unfavorable conclusions. How does she reconcile with who this monster is when she is discovering otherwise?
I loved that there was a lot more Cristiano in this book. He is one heck of a lead male character. Alpha to the core, he carries formidable power and strength with him that makes him a true leader. He has a vulnerable side deep down, too, where his wants are as simple and basic as anyone else’s. He respects her while pushing her to be stronger whereas Natalia antagonizes him at every turn, fearful of his next move and motives because he can also be scary (which she’s afraid to admit isn’t a total turn off). A part of me admired her rebellion because it showed her growing a backbone, but another part of me wanted her to see that she really didn’t get the raw end of the deal like she believes because her stubbornness would be her downfall. The sexual tension really ramped up because they have undeniable and explosive chemistry waiting to ignite, no matter how much they are at odds with each other. I knew that I’d love Cristiano from the first book and this one completely seals the deal. There are some important revelations in this one, but I can’t wait to find out the answer to the biggest question of all in the final book, and to see what happens between Natalia and Cristiano. Some of the foreshadowing in these 2 books have dropped hints and I need to know if it comes to fruition because it’s a game changer. And it wouldn’t be a proper cartel story without that cartel style ending! Hurry up November!
Violent Ends by Jessica Hawkins a five-star read that will end you. This is number two in the White Monarch series and they are best read in order. The tension and drama in this series just gets better and better, its dark and dramatic and so powerful it will knock your socks off!! Natalia becomes a woman in this story, she grows and develops before your eyes. I don’t know what to say other that wow, I don’t want to give spoilers, but this was just simply sublime. I can honestly say that this is going to be one of the best series this year!!
I didn’t think that Jessica could possibly write a better book than Violent Delights and yet here I am thinking Violent Ends is better! The story of Natalia and Christiano continues in Violent Ends. I am left wanting more after reading Violent Ends!!! The storyline is everything! She added the right amount of mystery, steaminess, and emotion! I couldn’t not put it down! I’m on pins and needles waiting for the conclusion to the White Monarch Trilogy next!
I am utterly gobsmacked! I feel like anything I say or write praising this phenomenal book is not enough! My heart is still pounding, my mind is spinning and I don’t know what I’m going to do with myself while waiting for the next book in The White Monarch Series! My emotions are running the gamut!
Oh my heart is completely enamored with Cristiano and Natalia in Violent Ends…I thought I was enthralled with Jessica’s writing of them in book 1, Violent Delights, but THIS, this surpasses anything I could have imagined.
The character development is eloquently and effortlessly done! Natalia‘s metamorphosis is slowly, slowly but surely transpiring. She’s mentally maturing
and learning that nothing is certain. So many secrets have been kept from her and the blinders that were before her are coming undone little by little. What she thought was the truth is now confusing her and causing her to second guess and question her sense of the reality of her past.
“You can handle a lot. I wouldn’t have married you if I didn’t think so. You prove it to yourself more every day.”
Cristiano is an enigma. He’s strong, ruthlessly determined and compelling yet beginning to show his weakness when it comes to Natalia…I am fascinated with him!
Jessica has the ability to make me swoon over her heroes and Cristiano is no exception! I look forward to more from her on the angst and steam in Violent Triumphs!
Wow! I feel as if I spent the day in a fun house, where nothing is what it appears to be. This the gist of what is happening in Violent Ends. It picks up right after the unbelievable wedding of Natalia and Cristiano, the devil himself or is it Digeo who is the real devil? No real answers only more questions and a gigantic cliff hanger. Shaking my head, now we wait until November to have all our questions answers! My guess is the spoiler room is going to be chock full of questions, tons and tons of questions and inquiries that only person has the answers to, but does she even know yet? Um, wonder if her characters are talking?
I am dying here. This woman can write an angst filled, sitting on the edge of your seat, nail biting book. This book was all that and more. I love Cristiano and you can’t change my mind. Such an amazing series.
Natalia thought she had her whole life planned out until Cristiano. She had to make a choice to protect others. Cristiano is powerful but when it comes to Natalia he’s lost all control! Will Natalia learn to love? Can Cristiano get what he wants or will everything be lost?
I write this review with my jaw on the floor!!!! This book was incredible! The level of angst is off the freaking charts; it’s super hot folks! Buckle up, you’re in for a wild ride!
Book 1 ended with Cristiano taking a grief-stricken Natalia as his wife after her long-time love, Diego, traded her for protection from a rival cartel. Book 2 focuses on Natalia and Cristiano as they weed through their rocky, dare I say relationship, after the wedding. And it’s a bumpy ride! But in walks the angst, because the chemistry between these two is HOT, HOT, HOT; regardless of how much they like or dislike each other!
The ending though…ARE YOU KIDDING ME!?!? As expected in a series and especially coming off book 1, there is a massive cliffhanger on book 2! Hence why I can’t seem to pick my jaw off the floor! Now we wait until November for the conclusion, and I can’t even tell you how I will survive the next 5 months, anxiously waiting for the final chapters in this story!
Jessica Hawkins can do no wrong in my book! I absolutely lover her writing style, where she delivers highly emotional and notoriously angsty books; I simply can’t get enough. Jessica, you slay me girl! I will follow you anywhere!
This book was perfection. Let me tell you, this was one long book of foreplay and seduction and I loved it!
For me, this was one of those books that you don’t want to put down, and are really sad when it ends.
In Violent Ends, we get the dual perspective of Cristiano and Natalia. Cristiano was TO DIE FOR! He had such a dirty mouth and was sinfully flirtatious! Those two things alone made me yearn for him, but add in his moments of tenderness and I was 100% unequivocally rooting for him. I loved reading how Natalia’s mindset throughout the book changed. Her character continues to grow, and near the end of the book she morphs into the woman I think we all want her to be. The woman capable of sitting besides Cristiano.
I can’t wait to see where the final book in this 3-book series takes us! I’m going to have such a book hangover from this one!
5 Butterfly Stars
Picking up after that killer cliffhanger (and yes, Violet Delights must be read first) Jessica Hawkins again gives one heck of a suspenseful and intense romance between the de la Rosa and Cruz families. Everything is not as it seems. For as much as we learn, more questions come.
Breadcrumbs and bits of information lead down different paths. The sexual attraction is intense. The lies and truths difficult are to decipher. But every page was a turn toward answers that I wanted even though I knew the end may be hard to take.
And, man, that end! Another cliffhanger that left me dangling! The wait will be so hard!
My first reaction when I finished this book was “NOOOOO!” I‘m not ready for it to be over, for these magical words to come to an end. I was hooked from the very beginning, and I’m dying to know what happens next.
I feel like a toddler, unable to handle my big emotions. I keep wanting to grab my phone to read some more, only to then want to throw my phone across the room because I’m already done. I want to cry because it’s over. I want to jump into the author’s head to find out what happens next. I am not ok. This trilogy is going to wreck me, I just know it.
Ten violently delightful stars!
Holy heck…
WHAT. DID. I. JUST. READ
OMG this book, this series is one you cannot miss out on. Jessica Hawkins promised to deliver and she did that 100 times over!
Yes, you have to read Violent Delights first. Yes this is a trilogy and in true Jessica Hawkins form, she has left us gasping for air and wanting M O R E!!!!!
I’m not going to give anything away, you can read the blurbs. But know this, Jessica Hawkins and her sorcerous ways are in full swing. She packs a punch and rest assured you’ll come out swinging!
This is a delicious journey of love, loss, betrayal and redemption. You won’t want to get off this ride until it comes to a complete stop!
Jessica Hawkins doesn’t miss a beat with Violent Ends, picking up right where Violent Delights left off. I finished Violent Delights unsatisfied, reserving my true judgement for the end and there’s no exception with Violent Ends. I love the readers get more of Cristiano in this book and we also realize that Diego is a giant jerk. There were moments when I connected with Natalia but I spent most of the book rolling my eyes, wishing she’d stop playing stupid games. But then I realize she is young, inexperienced, and spent most of her life in love with an idiot. She’s totally clueless about how to handle a man like Cristiano (HINT: You just submit to him, ok?). Regardless, I still stayed up waaaaaaay past my bedtime reading just to get to the inevitable cliffhanger. I really think Book 3 will put this series over the top and I’m looking forward to it!
