The devil has a name, and it’s Cristiano de la Rosa. On my wedding day, he was the last man I expected to see standing at the altar. He wants to make me his queen. His brother wants to rescue his princess.Getting Cristiano to lose control becomes the name of the game, and the stakes are life and death. But as truth and lies blur, loyalty is tested, and our chemistry threatens to reach the melting … the melting point, the prize grows less clear. Either freedom no longer means what I think it does, or Cristiano is as devious as everyone says, and he’s mastered the art of playing my mind.
All I know for certain is that nothing is certain. And all you need to know?
This is a love story.
But even love stories have to end.

After waiting anxiously for this 2nd White Monarch book to appear on my Kindle, I was so excited to dive into this wonderful story! We were left hanging at the end of Violent Delights after Diego traded Natalia over to Christiano as his bride in exchange for his life. What a scheeze.
This book is everything! As Natalia finds out the true nature of Diego, she also finds out the truth about the Badlands and Christiano. Nothing is as she was led to believe. The chemistry between Christiano and Natalia is off the charts and the slow burn as she fights the attraction is palpable. I loved seeing them together and what they could be if Natalia would just let herself be.
Oh, the angst! It wouldn’t be a Jessica book without angst! We love that. That’s why we read and keep coming back for more! I am dying to find out how this turns out after the cliffhanger we are left with at the end of this book! This is a TEN STAR READ!
Violent Ends is book 2 in the White Monarch series. All I have to say is I just love Cristiano!! This book is dark and chilling! And I couldn’t put it down! I already need book 3 like right now! It’s shaping up to be one of my favorite series!
Book 2 in Jessica Hawkins’ White Monarch series is here!! And this line gave me chills: “The devil had a name—Cristiano de la Rosa—but from this day forward, I would call him husband.”
Another fabulous book by Jessica Hawkins. It’s so good couldn’t put it down. I voluntarily reviewed an Advance Reader Copy of this book.
Wow! I can’t believe that ending. So many thoughts are running through my head right now. I am blown away with these books. Jessica Hawkins just keeps getting better with each book. Talk about angst and sexual tension. I am still thinking about this book days later.
I am going to keep this short and sweet because I don’t want to spoil it for anyone. If you haven’t started this trilogy yet you need to. This book picks up where Violent Delights ends. I couldn’t read this book fast enough.
I loved this book and cannot wait for the conclusion to this story. Make sure you read these books you will be happy you did.
Holeeee hell!! What a read! And that ending… My mind is still a jumbled mess. Blown. Away. What a magnificent read. Seriously! I might be a tiny bit obsessed. This book will occupy my mind until VIOLENT TRIUMPH is finally here … I just know it. And I don’t even know what to do with myself until then. Ugh. And on the other hand … I’m scared as hell how I’m gonna survive after THAT ending. I can’t even …
The writing is superb – intense, beautiful wording creating a chaotic, messy yet incredibly detailed mafia world with characters so well described you can feel them deep in the core of your soul. Natalia and Cristiano. I have been team Cristiano before – but now … ladies, this man is larger than life! Just thinking about him gives me shivers. All the dirty details we learn about him in this book – it makes him all the more alluring, irresistible – and dangerous. Boy, this man is dangerous. A force to be reckoned with. Add in the slow-burn push and pull between him and Natalia – that girl does not just taste his patience, but mine too, oh heck… – let’s just say I couldn’t read fast enough – or slow enough. Torn between wanting more and more and more and making it last forever …
This series for sure is one of the best mafia romances out there. Don’t miss out on this thrilling ride with that enormous attention to detail. I. Need. MORE!
THIS SERIES! The OBSESSION is REAL!!! I finished Violent Ends last night, and I’m completely mind blown and dying for more. Emphasis on dying…because THAT CLIFFHANGER.
And the fire that’s brewing between Christiano and Natalia is absolutely TORTUROUS. She may be putting up a fight when it comes to her heart, but for me? DONE. GONER. Christiano de la Rosa with his dirty mouth and unwavering protectiveness has stolen it.
If you’ve not started this series, then DO IT. It’s an intensely addictive must read!!!
This is the second book in the White Monarch Trilogy, a Dark Mafia Romance. The story continues where the first book left off. OMG! I love this Series! The story has it all: great characters, amazing storyline, and unpredictable twists and turns. The story ends with a breathtaking cliffhanger. I love Natalia, and Cristiano, and their slow burn romance. The story is intense, and captivating. Now, I can’t wait for the next book in the Series, Violent Triumphs, to know what happens next. Emma Wilder and Brian Pallino did an outstanding job with the narration! (review updated with the audiobook version)
After that ending of Violent Delights that packed a punch to the stomach, I could not wait to see where Jessica Hawkins took her readers on Natalia and Cristiano’s journey! Where I was expecting a fast paced story with lots of emotions, I unfortunately could not connect with any characters and found Violent Ends extremely slow. Almost to the point where I wish this was an awesome, action packed standalone and not a dragged out series. I can only hope Jessica has a lot more left in store for her readers in the final book of the White Monarch series.
Violent Ends is the second book in the White Monarch series by Jessica Hawkins and this book brought a bunch more questions, a ton of danger and agendas, and a boat load of intense feelings. This book brought on some twists and turns that I didn’t expect and left us with the mother of all cliffhangers.
As of now it seems like Christiano and Natalia May never get their lives in order as to much is happening all at once. No one knows who to trust or where loyalties lie but one thing is certain..nothing is as it seems.
I came into this book completely rooting for Natalia to be able to get out of her current situation but after getting to know Christiano a bit more, I am now rooting for him to get his way. He definitely proves that not all rumors are true.
I’m not sure what to expect next as this book literally left me unsure of how to possibly come out of this intact but I am dying to find out. I really hope the next book comes sooner and answers all my questions. If you haven’t started this series yet, this is the perfect time!!
Wow!!!! I have no words! Violent Ends is everything!! So much raw emotion and a page turner! I definitely grew to love Cristiano more in this book but Natalia still seems to have lots of inner struggles. I thought book one ended with a huge cliffhanger but I was wrong!! This is by far Jessica’s best writing to date in my opinion and I absolutely cannot wait for Violent Triumphs!!
“I never needed you.”
The cutting words snipped at my already short wick. “Then why am I here?” I retorted.
“Because I wanted you.”
If there’s a series of books, book 2 is usually always my favorite. Book 1 sets the stage, book 3 pulls it all together and ties up loose ends, but book 2…. it’s where the bulk of the character development is. It’s where all the layers are pulled back and guards are let down. Violent Ends is rich with character development. If you weren’t Team Cristiano in book 1, prepared to be swayed to the dark side.
Slow burns are Jessica’s wheelhouse. She pulls you in and keeps you on the edge of your seat, until the very last page. The intensity and the angst… it’s almost too much. Almost. Jessica leads you there, brings you right to the cliff, then pushes you off when you least expect it.
Yes, it ends in a cliffhanger. But good gawd… that journey to the end…. intense.
Violent Ends is book two in The White Monarch trilogy by Jessica Hawkins.
This book begins right where Violent Delights ends, in the church with Cristiano and his new bride, Natalia. We follow Cristiano and Natalia as they navigate the first couple of weeks of their new marriage.
Natalia continues to be naive, and a rather weak character overall. For me, I just can’t connect with her character. I really wish I could, and am hoping that her weaknesses have been portrayed so glaringly that if she does find some inner strength in book three it will be triumphant in Violent Triumphs.
Cristiano was an enigma to me in this book. In Violent Delights he was singularly focused on claiming and possessing Natalia. Now that he has her, he is just not the same character to me.
I’m hoping for more in Violent Triumphs.
More strength in Natalia.
More of the Cristiano from Violent Delights.
And more Barto!!
What. Just. Happened. I am in shock after finishing this book! That ending!! Wow wow wow! This book was gritty, gruesome, and will have you hanging on by a thread!
Christiano is my new obsession. That man.. my GOD. I just wanted to yell at Natalia! You really get to see Christiano behind the scenes. He is passionate and determined for anything and everything crosses his path. He is all man and MINE. I claim him.
This book fits right down my alley. Darkness. Sin. Passion. Oh, and a dirty talking, broody, kingpin doesn’t hurt either!! I can not wait to see what happens next.. literally, I can’t wait. I need to have the book in my hands right now.
This book deserves all the stars!
If you haven’t already read Violent Delights, STOP right now, and go read it before continuing. Violent Ends is book 2 in Jessica Hawkin’s White Monarch trilogy and starts off right where book 1 left us hanging, which I loved. I’ve been waiting for 3 months to see what happens next and I was not disappointed!! I loved diving back into the world of love, lust, betrayal, and survival with Natalia and Christiano.
The suspense, sexual tension, passion, and unanswered questions keep mounting till it’s almost unbearable. The chemistry between Natalia & Christiano is off the charts and you could feel it through the pages. It was definitely a slow burn but no less scorching and palpable. It was interesting to see the build-up and progression of their relationship throughout the book and I cannot wait to see what comes next for them in book 3.
The plot keeps thickening and Natalia learns that she can only trust one person: herself. I was proud of Natalia for continuing to be headstrong and stubborn and go head to head with Christiano at every turn. She continues to fight which I loved about her. But what i didn’t love was her naivety and inability to see what was right in front of her: the truth. She kept on failing to see the truth which grated on my nerves a little bit.
Christiano is charming, understanding, and patient, as well as, brutal, possessive, demanding, and vengeful. Together in one sexy package, the good and bad, make for one powerful yet drool worthy man and leader. I loved the little snippets of his point of view we got here and there and being able to get in his head and learn more about him. I hope we get more of those in the final book.
This book was everything although I found it to be a little too slow at times. Violent Ends is filled with suspense, betrayal, lust, and twists and turns throughout. I was captivated from that sexy cover all the way to the cliffhanger at the end. I cannot wait to see what Jessica Hawkins brings us in book 3! I will be waiting very very impatiently.
Oh my gosh! Jessica Hawkins has done it again! Just when you think her books can’t get any better, she writes something like this!! Cristiano…….. ooo la la! Warning: this cliffhanger is much more intense than book one! Do I really have to wait until November
This trilogy might be the death of me! I have been loving every single second of this gripping, heart stopping saga! I can’t wait to get my hands on book three. Seriously, how am I supposed to wait until November to find out what happens?!
Reading this story, is like watching it play out on screen. The writing is so brilliant and the descriptions are so realistic it feels as if you are right there along the characters as they make their way through the crazy and intense world they live in.
I started to fall in love with Cristiano in the first book but after finishing this one, I am head over heels completely and totally in love with him. He is everything I wanted in a hero in this story. I can’t wait to get more of him and his outstanding personality in the final book.
There is no way I can spoil anything for you! You need to go into this story as blind as you can and be prepared for a wild ride! This mafia, cartel, romance is done to perfection and I’m sure the third and final book in the White Monarch trilogy is going to be just as thrilling of a ride as the first two books.
Grateful to have received a complimentary ARC copy to honestly review.
After Violent Delights, I couldn’t wait to get my hands on Violent Ends, and boy was it worth the wait! November and Violent Triumphs cannot come soon enough! This book was epic! From Natalia’s determination to seeing Cristiano’s true nature, there was nothing about this book that I didn’t love. And that ending will have you on the edge of your seat. I’ll be biting my nails until book 3 releases!!
VIOLENT ENDS started right at the ending scene of book 1, which was a doozy to be left on! I needed to know what would happen next and now I do.
SLOW BURN GALORE! *fans self*The slow burn in this book was almost painful! Cristiano gave his ALL in the sexual build up department and Natalia fought tooth and nail to deny any advances he made. Like to the point of infuriating me as a reader! Even as Natalia’s faith in Diego dwindled and her hate toward Cristiano wavered and shifted to something else, Natalia couldn’t get passed what she thought she knew. She repetitively denied her budding intrigue for Cristiano and her growing pull towards him, even though it was becoming increasingly obvious Cristiano is her perfect partner in every sense of the word. “The beast scares you in the light, but not only do you crave it after dark . . . you become it.” Unfortunately, Cristiano had his hands full with Nat in this book. There is TONS of deprogramming to be done. Natalie has been blinded by many years of being kept in the dark because of her father and Diego, but Cristiano is no longer allowing her to be treated like a princess in an ivory tower. She needs to have her eyes opened and see the cartel world, HER cartel world, for what it is and in doing so, she’ll eventually be able to step into the roll of Queen and stand strong by Cristiano’s side. “You don’t live in the ivory tower anymore. You own it. You’re going to learn to rule from it, because that’s what it means to be Calavera royalty.” But will Cristiano’s endeavor to obtain Natalia’s heart be his downfall or will Natalia finally?
Jessica pulled me into this book world once again! The unraveling and uncovering of the lies and secrets continued to be addictive in this book and even though I felt the first 60% of the book was a lot of build up (and TONS of slow burn), I did really enjoy the slow development between Cristiano and Natalie’s character. I ESPECIALLY enjoyed Cristiano’s development. Jessica truly brought her all with him in this book. I was intrigued with him in book 1, but I am LOVING him in this book. He’s the dirtiest talking BBF I’ve read in a long time and I loved every naughty word that came out of his mouth. He was my favorite part of this entire book!
The angst really amped up the last 40% and because of that, I breezed through the end of the book quickly. I started to see glimpses of the Natalia that I had hoped to see earlier on by the end, but as I said above, Cristiano had TONS of deprogramming to do, so it wasn’t going to be an instantaneous thing. I don’t know if the story could’ve been told any other way, but for me it was infuriating at times the stubbornness that Nat stuck to. She wasn’t going to bend to Cristiano AT ALL and he was giving her every reason to. She was just still blinded by what she thought she knew of him. Also, I am still waiting for the two brothers to go head to head, which I anticipate will happen in book 3, VIOLENT TRIUMPHS and I can NOT wait for it! I’m anxious to see how Cristiano and Nat’s relationship grows from here. I NEED them to come together already. This waiting is killing me slowly!
4 stars
Anticipated Release Dates for the final book:
VIOLENT TRIUMPS November 12, 2019 (this wait is gonna SUCK because we got left on a major cliffy again)
I CAN’T HANDLE THIS!
I don’t know how I’m going to be capable of waitimg for the final book in this trilogy. I’m dying to know what happens after the shocking ending. I mean, I read it once, twice, and I can assure you I could read it again just to try to find a clue, a bit of information I might have missed that could give me ideas for the next part of this story and create my theories!
This story was such a wild ride. I am so in love with the characters in it. We get a whole new look in Cristiano and Natalia’s minds. I was so excited to read how far Cristiano’s mind goes in all things involving her, I absolutely love him. He’s dark and powerful, he’s so alluring. You can’t help but wanting to learn everything about him. And Natalia? She’s such a strong character, and even though I wished she could just open her eyes and stop judging him so much, I understood and supported her decisions related to that particular topic. I love how she learns to stand up for herself, and even when she’s afraid, she doesn’t let the fear put her down. The chemistry between these two is explosive, the passion pours out of the pages and the intensity of their feelings will take your breath away.
This is an intricate story. The writing is excellent and the detail in the story is unbelievable. I love the build up in their relationship and the danger that threatens to end them.
A breathtaking, intriguing and intense journey.
