I was born a princess among criminals. An untouchable among thieves. Heiress to a life others have killed for, and one I’d do anything to escape. I vowed not to leave without Diego, my first love and best friend, but if his ruthless brother has his way, I won’t leave at all.Cristiano de la Rosa is a man as big and bold as his legend. Once upon a time, he was our cartel’s best soldier . . . until … . . until he became my family’s worst enemy. And a man like Cristiano will bend fate to his will to get what he wants—even if it means tearing me from another’s arms.
Because in the de la Rosa family, old grudges run deeper than loyalty, and betrayal is a three-letter word: war. But this feud isn’t between enemies—it’s between brothers. And I’m the prize.

Did you see this new release from Jessica Hawkins???
It’s no secret that I’m a sucker for cartel romances, particularly in the very vivid and unforgiving landscape of Mexico. Hawkins has created a love triangle set amidst pride, secrets and carnage that borders on a coming of age that will only get more intense as this three book series goes on!
I’ve been a fan of Jessica Hawkins since the early days when I read her Cityscape series, but I have to say, I think based on my wonderful experience with Violent Delights that the White Monarch trilogy will be my all-time favourite by her! #TeamCristiano
Violent Delights by Jessica Hawkins is book One in the White Monarch Series. This is a page turner of a story. There is the Mexican cartel boss’s daughter Natalia two brothers who are enemies but wanting the same women..Natalia. Cristiano is the dark brother where Diego was the lighter brother both wanting Natalia. This was such a good drama filled page turning read for me. Can’t wait for the next installment in this series.
Angsty slow burns come in threes from Jessica Hawkins! Violent Delights is book one in the White Monarch trilogy, an addicting new series that kicks off a steamy, tumultuous journey through a Mexican cartel with two alpha male brothers. As good as it sounds! Grab it now!!!
Absolutely Freaking Amazing!!!!
The only complaint that I have is I want the next book LIKE NOW!
Violent Delights is book one in the White Monarch trilogy, an addicting new series from USA Today bestselling author Jessica Hawkins. Steamy, angsty and hard-core alpha males.
A must read that I couldn’t put down. 5 bad boy you make me feel so good stars.
I have no idea where to even begin to describe my love for this book. Jessica has swept me into this dark, ruthless world of the cartel where her characters have caused complete havoc to my heart. Violent Delights has become my FAVORITE book this year!
Violent Delights hits you from all sides with these characters. I was dying at every interaction, the smallest of touches, or words spoken between Natalia, Diego, and Cristiano. Captivating. I’m so incredibly wound up in everything this story entails.
Natalia Lourdes is no shrinking violet, and the world she’s trying to keep out of is also pulsing through her veins.
Fast paced, beautifully written and intense.
“She is yours in the eyes of God, but in every other way, she is mine. Saying otherwise won’t change the fact.”
“I will rain down a fury the likes of which not even the Maldonados have seen.”
Definitely can’t wait for book 2 to see what happens!!
For me, this book missed some of the usual Jessica Hawkins spark. However, the plot is well-written and kept me reading until the very end and the characters are intriguing enough to make me want to continue reading. The story really came together at the end, that’s when I felt the most invested in the story. I wish that we had gotten to the events at the end sooner. I can see the potential in this series and if I’m right, the next two books will only get better leading to the epic Jessica Hawkins angst-filled romances that her readers are used to. Also, #TeamCristiano
“She is mine.” Three words. Two different men.
A life, future, and love I don’t get to choose.
Violent Delights is book one in the White Monarch trilogy, an addicting new series from USA Today bestselling author Jessica Hawkins.
Pulse pounding, nerve wrecking, and adrenaline fueled page turning. Violent Delights is everything you want and need in a mafia/cartel novel. It’s full of fear, intrigue, and duplicitous acts. Constantly on edge, waiting for the other shoe to drop, you are lulled into a false sense of….everything.
Cockroaches can survive just about anything and tell biggest one surely does. Don’t be fooled by pretty things. This book has jagged edges and will cut you to the bone. One pretty butterfly wing at a time!
What an incredible way to start the series! I am hooked. I was actually a reluctant reader. I loved the blurb and the genre, of course, but I had misconceptions of this book based on another by this author. I’m glad I didn’t let my prior distaste ruin this intense and riveting journey. I look forward to everything that’s in store.

Whatever style within the romance genre that Jessica Hawkins writes in, she does so with confidence and style. Violent Delights is not just a dip of the toe into the murky, violent world of cartels, but a full body immersion! From the very start this book challenges what you might expect from her writing and sets up a plot full of danger, loyalties based on blood and passion and the corruption of wealth gained through crime.
Natalia has an innocence in this world, but not unknowing. She has seen it, lived alongside it, but still retains a trust and naivety which is dangerous. To her.
That’s it. No more from me. You need to read this book for yourself. This trilogy is off to a fabulous, promising start.
I signed up for an early copy of this book for two reasons. One, Jessica Hawkins is a new “to me” author, and I have set a challenge for myself this year to read many more “new” or new “to me” authors. Two, I also thought this would be a good book for my “stepping out” challenge since I am not a fan of love triangles (nor trilogies if I am being honest). Two birds with one stone as they say. (lol)
Needless to say, I wasn’t sure what I was getting myself into and I’d be lying if I didn’t say I was a little nervous. (lol) However, luck was on my side because I LOVED every minute of this book. I will not get into too many details because there are still two more books to go and I’ll save the longer more in-depth review for when the story has reached its’ conclusion. What I will say is that this was a fantastically well-written book. It was well paced and a relatively short read (three hours). It is told mostly from Natalia’s POV with one chapter each from Cristiano and Diego. The plot was super engaging and set the stage for an epic battle between two brothers. All three of the main characters are incredibly intriguing. However, I have a HUGE favorite and I will be one UNHAPPY camper if Natalia doesn’t end up with him…my reaction may involve (but not limited to) swearing and tablet throwing…just saying. Last, we end on a WHOPPER of a cliffhanger that will make you want to get your grubby hands on book two ASAP.
So yea, not much left to say. I loved it. I recommend it. I hope you enjoy it as much as I did.
SWEET JESUS!!!
I’m speechless.. I’m blown away and I’m all turned upside down. What i thought I wanted this book to be isn’t. It’s more.. and I am SHOCKED.. SHOOK, and wondering how I’m going to make it til June for the next installment!!!
I absolutely love the cover of this book, and the blurb piqued my interest immensely. I have read a lot of romance books featuring organized crime groups, and some of them I ended up loving and others were a bit of a letdown. It started getting harder and harder to discover new gems in this subgenre. I am happy to announce that I really enjoyed Violent Delights. This was mainly because of the intriguing characters, and especially Cristiano was my favorite in this book. He is just the type of anti-hero I can’t get enough of. I thought Natalia to be a bit naive and sheltered, which annoyed me a couple of times. I also wasn’t a big fan of her best-friend/first-love Diego. I couldn’t really connect to their relationship. It felt like puppy love, like they were both teenagers, and just started figuring out the physical part of their relationship. Cristiano was much more interesting and I loved the dark and mysterious vibe he gave off.
From the blurb I got the idea that it would be a love triangle, but in my opinion it didn’t really feel like one. I already picked my favorite brother, and I can’t wait to see which direction Jessica will take this story. I am looking forward to seeing Natalia grow stronger, and seeing her personality develop more. I didn’t connect to her completely, because of her naive personality and sometimes stupid decisions. But I think the author laid down a good groundwork for the next two books in the White Monarch series. I do hope that we will see more of Cristiano’s POV in the next book. I also have to say that I loved how the author ended this book, and I look forward to seeing what is going to happen next. I just wish this series was a duet instead of a trilogy. (I hate waiting!)
Meh … Cliffhanger
I couldn’t finish it. I really wanted to get into it, but the girl is too stupid to live. I found myself avoiding reading and that’s when I have to hang it up. She was just too dumb for my tastes. Both of those boys deserve better.
Absolutely amazing male, you love I’m automatically.. I would’ve rated 5 stars, have not i it felt the author was dragging this whole series, causing boring moments to read.
If it was made into two books and skipped the whole dragging, which became abit frustrating to read, it would be an absolutely amazing book to read.
Cliffhanger for which I am not a fan of.
