Running away can often lead to the same thing you were trying to leave behind … finally coming to a successful conclusion, as she completes their data collection, when their vessel is boarded by pirates. She’s knocked unconscious and moved to an old sinking tub and left adrift in the ocean. She wakes to find the only other female member of the team is missing …
Worried, the team returns to shore, trying to sort out what happened. Vanessa insists on tracking her missing team member, even as the others vote to return home. Vanessa refuses. She’ll help or die trying. Vince can stay with her or go with the others—his choice—but no way is Vanessa’s lost researcher being left behind.
And, one by one, the other members of the team go missing too …

I received a complimentary copy of this book and I am voluntarily reviewing it.
I am having a hard time with this book. Vanessa in general to me is not a vixen but a whiner. She repeatedly says the same time or the same question over and over. Several times Vince or Johan have brought up several different scenerios of Dr. Sanchez’s disappearance and she still says, “(b)ut why?” I mean really how many times do we have to hear the same things over and over? Also I really didn’t feel a connection between Vanessa or Vince. That connection came at the end.
The only plus for me was the dual POV. Normally that helps me to identify to the character but not in case. I can truly say that Vanessa wasn’t a character that I enjoyed reading.
This is book 19 in the Heroes For Hire series and it features Vince and Vanessa. He’s headed to the Galápagos Islands to locate a missing team of researchers. When he locates Vanessa and her team, minus one doctor, it’s a race against time to locate the missing doctor before she ends up taken to another country. Even though there was a kiss here and there, I did NOT feel ANY romance in this entire book between Vince and Vanessa. Even when they started to take things to the next level at the end of the LAST chapter, the words being said were lacking emotion and any kind of depth. I am disappointed in the romance but not in the action/adventure.
The characters at Legendary Security are all fantastic and the action is great.
I absolutely love this story . Vince Manor
Is working at Legendary Security for Levi and Ice . Like all the men working there he is next to fall . Vince is sent to find and rescue Vanessa and her research team off the coast of Galapagos Island
where they were last located . Vanessa and her team wake up in the bottom of a old ship with no way to escape with one member missing . Vince and Johan come to the rescue but danger is lurking and they do not know who to trust . They must stay safe and find the missing team member easier send than done .
This is so Suspenseful and intriguing really action packed all out fantastic .
I highly recommend taking the time to read and enjoy .

I was kindly provided this book as an ARC; in exchange for my honest review. This is book 19 of … in the Heroes for Hire series. This book centers around Vince and Vanessa. Vince isn’t “on-board” (haha) with all the recent romances happening within Legendary Security (Heroes for Hire) paramilitary group run by Levi and Ice.
Vince and Vanessa are on a research vessel outside the Galapagos islands when it is attacked. All sorts of fun and games ensues from there (not really much fun)…
This is an adventure/mystery book with a tiny bit of tame romance thrown in. Of course the two main characters get their HEA.
With this series, I typically encourage the reader to read the series in order. However, with this book it’s not critical, but I would still encourage it as it will help you understand all the characters and backstory going on. And of course it’s completely worth your time and money!

Another fav from this series….again, yup I keep saying this, but what else can I say when Dale Mayer keep writing amazing easy-to-read suspense read with a dash of sweetness and plenty alpha heroes to drool to.
This one started with kidnapping at Galapagos, an exotic place where there are many pirates, oh yes I’m totally hooked, then comes many suspects and theories, yup totally can’t stop reading it. Although there are some questions that goes unanswered, I still enjoying nonetheless with all those actions and the sweetness between Vanessa and Vince.
If you’re looking for an easy to read suspense, this is definitely for you.
Neither Vince or Vanessa are interested in romance. They each have their own careers they are focused on. However, when Vince is sent to find Vanessa and her team, they are embroiled in a high stakes kidnapping scheme that draws them closer to each other. Very lovely book with fast paced action and breath stealing suspense. I voluntarily read this book and gave my honest review.
I started this book and finished it in one day. Would have been one sitting if the “real world”, had not interrupted me! Loved the characters and how they interacted with each other. Loved the story-line. Something different from other books in the series, yet just as interesting. Loved the way Dale always has an interesting story line that pulls you in from the start and keeps you engrossed throughout the entire book. There were some crazy tense moments during the book that had me rooting for the main characters. If you like intense books, with action and suspense, you will love this book. Looking forward to the next book in the series!

Vince is not interested in all the romance happening at Legendary Security but when he finds himself in the Galapagos Islands he finds himself having to deal with all sorts of unexpected emotions. Vanessa is on one of her research trips but as this year’s one is almost successfully over their vessel is boarded by pirates and she wakes up tied up having been knocked unconscious and moved into the inside of a rusty old boat adrift on the sea. Worse still, one of the female researchers is missing. After Vince and his colleague rescue them they return to shore and try to work out what has happened. Everyone but Vanessa wants to go home, but she is determined to find her missing colleague. Everything then gets complicated when other team members start to go missing. Can Vince keep Vanessa safe, find the original missing colleague and rescue the rest of the team?
This was a sweet story of how when the time is right, no matter the danger, love cannot be denied. I was so pleased to see Vince analysing his feelings and coming to the right conclusion. Well written, this was an enjoyable story in the SEAL type of fiction. A sweet HEA at the end too.
I loved Vince and Vanessa’s story. Vanessa is a strong woman who will fight for others and refuses to give up on rescuing her entire team. Vince is going to do his best to give her the happy ending she wants.

Loved this latest book in the Heroes for Hire series. Vince doesn’t like all the romance that is happening with the members of Legendary Security so he is happy when he gets an assignment to the Galapagos Islands. Besides, he’s never been there so he’ll have a chance to see somewhere new.
Vanessa is one of the research team and as they are getting close to the end of their assignment, they are taken by pirates. However, one of their team members is missing, Dr. Laura Sanchez. And as time goes on, more of the members disappear.
There was certainly a mix of characters in this book – especially the five members of the research team. I found myself getting frustrated with Dr. Walker who was self-serving and unwilling to listen to advice from Vince and Johan. But then, the story would not be the same without his character. There was a good mix of suspense, mystery, action, and romance. And as the story progressed, it wasn’t obvious whether it was pirates who had taken the research team or if there was something more going on.
Vince finds his vixen in Vanessa, a woman who he is sent to rescue in the Galapagos. She’s been kidnapped and left stranded on a boat with three of her research doctors, and another doctor missing from the group. Vince locates Vanessa but hey all have troubles to leave the country, and Vanessa is insistent she’s not leaving w/o her friend, the missing doctor. As they try to piece what the kidnapping is all about, more of the group goes missing and it’s up to Vince to find out what is going on before Vanessa becomes another missing person.
A good read with a bit of steam and suspense as the group tries to evade the kidnappers and as they try to solve who is behind the kidnapping and why. The two have sparks and I really enjoy the no mess, no drama and no running away from each other when they realize that they are meant for each other.
*I voluntarily read an advanced copy and expressed my honest opinion*
I’m still behind on this series, but I couldn’t resist the latest.
Vince is really are having a hard time with all the couples forming around him. Of course this just amuses the rest of the team, to the point that Levi says his match will be going to be ‘Vince’s Vixen’ and he won’t really have a choice when that eventuality happens.
When a scientist working in the Artic calls concerned about his daughter doing research in the Galápagos Islands, he’s spoken to her almost daily but now she hasn’t answered he phone in twenty-four hours. His biggest worry is pirates, since her team spends much of their time on the research boat. Ice requests all the necessary information to start the investigation including George’s daughter’s name, she then decides Vince would take lead on this assignment. Did I mention her name is Vanessa and she was named for her vixen of a grandmother? I’m still giggling over that.
Vince is not comfortable with all the couples forming, he doesn’t think he’s ready for that kind of relationship. Levi however has pointed out that when you meet the right person, you know and nothing will stop it from happening and was the first to say ‘Vince’s Vixen’.
Vince’s partner on this journey is from Bullard’s team, Levi and Bullard are doing kind of an exchange program in order to spread out expertise. Johan can tap Bullard’s connections and he has some understanding of the Galápagos Islands as well as sailing experience.
They have to skirt a storm to reach where they believe the research boat is, but what they find is an unpiloted boat with Vanessa, part of her team and an injured kidnapper. Now that they are safe Vanessa focuses her concern on her missing team member Dr. Laura Sanchez.
A complex group of personalities, as things get stranger and suspicious.
Vanessa definitely isn’t letting anything go and is determined to find Laura and makes sure she gets home. One way or another.
I love the slow build relationship between Vince and Vanessa, it has not only heat but also irritation. Vince really has to stay on his toes.
Laughter, tears, suspense, danger and that simmer to sizzle relationship make this a book you can’t put down.
I can’t wait to read the next book, I loved the lead in to Ice’s Icing.
I enjoyed this book. Filled with mystery, suspense, drama, action, danger, adventure and romance, the storyline easily holds your attention. It does take a while, but once the sparks start flying I did like the chemistry that flowed between Vince and Vanessa. A very exciting and entertaining read. This is my volitional, forthright review.
Action all the way in a very tense and suspenseful plot, characters under threat and others missing. Vince is called in to hopefully rescue Vanessa, what he finds is so much more than just a spitfire Vixen. It is edge of your seat reading and a whole lot going on throughout, exciting and interesting, just a bit different both setting and plotwise to make for a really fabulous story. As always I loved it and it’s always a bonus getting a bit of Levi and Stone.
I really enjoyed Vince’s Vixen. This book has all my favorite stuff in it, action, love, loyalty and betrayal, did I mention this is a definite one click book that you need to get. Dale Mayer has a phenomenal talent when writing her books.
A missing research vessel not responding, possible kidnappers, pirates, poachers, a drug lord, and/or blackmail? A concerned scientist dad located in the Arctic contacts his friend Levi and he is concerned about loss of contact with his daughter. She is on a research vessel in the Galapagos Islands with a team who is not in contact with anyone. Two tour guides in the area have been killed, shot in the head, which makes the matters worse.
Vincent who has been doing paper work welcomes a new op but is dismissing Levi’s teasing about finding a love interest as so many of Levi’s operatives have done. But Levi continues to tease saying “Vincent’s Vixen” would fit. Turns out the scientist’s daughter is not only named Vanessa but is named after a vixen of a grandmother. Will this work?
After the vessel is found with Vanessa and her team being held hostage, Vincent wants to return home. However, Vanessa has other ideas as a team member Dr. Sanchez is still missing and Vanessa won’t leave without her. So another part of the adventure begins.
Between storms, very unique team members, a battle of wits and of course a bit of romance this story is a winner. I had trouble putting it down. One of my favorite problems is to have a new book I can’t stop reading!
Fantastic!
Vanessa and her group have been abducted from their research vessel in the area of the Galapagos Islands and no one knows where they are or their condition. Vanessa is the first one to regain consciousness but is tied up and laying on the floor in the bottom of a small ship that is being tossed around as a storm is blowing in.
This gets exciting right from the start with Vanessa showing her spirit and will to live as she tries to find a way out of their predicament instead of whining about their situation. Together, the team attempts to figure out why they have been targeted, but have no clue and one teammate is missing.
Vince is employed by Levi’s Legendary Security, and has teammate, Johann, with him to help find Vanessa. With the storm raging, they both find it difficult, but not impossible, to locate the lost research vessel, but instead, find a different ship with the research crew on board, locked below deck. This story gets real exciting and keeps you on your toes, so to speak as the mystery keeps getting deeper.
I enjoy the “take charge” attitude Vince and Johann have and the way they get the details they need to solve the mystery of why this research team was abducted. Vanessa’s feisty attitude is a welcome personality trait that I find entertaining. She is not afraid to try any and all options to escape their abductors.
This is a fast-paced story on the high seas! Full of excitement and mystery that keeps you engaged throughout the entire adventure.
Another brilliant chapter in the Heroes For Hire series! I loved it!
Escape and rescue…. When you pick up a Heroes for Hire book by Dale Mayer, you know you will find a feisty heroine, a strong hero, an interesting setting, and lots of suspense. This is what I enjoy about her books. This book is no different. Vince is sent to Galapagos Island to determine what happened to an American research team. Even though Vanessa’s team has been kidnapped and tied up on a ship, Vanessa is the first to plan an escape. Vince’s rescue of them is just the start of a suspenseful story because one of team is still missing. Even though Vince’s wary of starting a relationship, Vanessa intrigues him. I received a free copy of this book from the author. This is my honest and voluntarily given review. I really like this fast read. I like that there was more than rescue and escape in the book.
Another great book in this series. When a research team is kidnapped, the girl’s father asks Ice for help. Vince and Johan go to find the team. There is lots of danger, suspense and rescues. Couldn’t put this book down. Received this book free for an honest review.
Vince – a lone wolf yet to meet his match.

When Vince is given a job his mates all jome it’s hus turn to meet his lady. They joke her name will start with a “V”. Than all the joking stops when they learn Vanessa is missing a daughter of an old friend who has never let team down they move to bring her home. Here starts a wonderful love story of two strong people who work together to acheive their goals. Vanessa proves how strong she is and Vince proves he will be there for her no matter what. The support they give each other is wonderful to see and their journey takes you with them. Very step on the way.
