Running away can often lead to the same thing you were trying to leave behind … finally coming to a successful conclusion, as she completes their data collection, when their vessel is boarded by pirates. She’s knocked unconscious and moved to an old sinking tub and left adrift in the ocean. She wakes to find the only other female member of the team is missing …
Worried, the team returns to shore, trying to sort out what happened. Vanessa insists on tracking her missing team member, even as the others vote to return home. Vanessa refuses. She’ll help or die trying. Vince can stay with her or go with the others—his choice—but no way is Vanessa’s lost researcher being left behind.
And, one by one, the other members of the team go missing too …

She is a very good author, with a believable story.
This was a new adventure for the crew. I enjoyed the look into the Galapagos Islands and the research. One thing I enjoy about this series is I always learn more about the world. In this one Vince goes to rescue a researcher. She turns out to be the one for him. Lots of adventure, action and a nice slow burn romance. In the end Vince save’s the day and everyone goes home. Also liked the spunk of the heroine as she rescues her crew at the beginning and is a great help on the adventure.

Vanessa is a scientist who is collecting data on a research ship off the coast of Galapagos. She and her crew are all knocked out and kidnapped by pirates. When Vanessa awakens, she discovers that the only other woman in their crew is missing.
Meanwhile, Vanessa’s father has not heard from his daughter for a few days and is worried. He hires Vince from Legendary Security to go to Galapagos and search for his daughter.
When Vince finds the crew, he and Vanessa search for the missing woman. The rest of the crew tries to return home, but unfortunately they find themselves evading some unknown men in suits. They are all unsure if these men are good or bad.
From then on, this book is a page-turner with a complex and unusual plot and many interesting, but perplexing, characters. The author creates a spellbinding suspense that keeps the readers guessing throughout the book.
Brilliant! Had my heart pounding and me sitting on the edge of my seat. I was hooked from the start. Talk about a real page turner! Loved this! So much action, drama and unexpected twists and turns that keep you flipping the pages right to the very end! Had the right balance of action, drama, emotions, sexy times and romance to make this book perfect for a must read all day long. Can’t wait to the next book by this amazing author. Happy reading!!
This was full of suspense and mystery from the beginning and had you second guessing on who you thought was behind the kidnappings as well as who to trust. Vanessa is smart and head strong and frustratingly enough for Vince believes to leave no one behind. This game of cat and mouse has you turning the page needing to know who the bad guys is, who can you trust and will everyone still be alive at the end!

When Ice calls a meeting about a missing doctor in the Galapago’s he is ready and willing to go check it out. The father of the missing doctor is calling from his research lab in the Arctic. Vince has never been there and always wanted to see the islands is ready and willing to go. What awaits him is beyond his wildest dreams.
Vanessa is a spitfire that loves her research and her research ship. When she is knocked out along with her research team and taken to a different ship and set adrift, she awakes and is determined to get free and find out what has happened. One of her team is missing. She rallies the rest of the team and helps them get free. She is desperate to find her friend and fellow researcher.
Nothing prepares her or Vince for what follows. I cannot give a spoiler and if I continue I will do that. This is another great book in the series and you will love it. It is great.
Love the whole series.
Vince accepted his mission determined to find the missing researchers and not get caught up in the “love in the air” at the compound. Vince and Johan find the team sooner than expected but one member is missing. Everyone is ready to go home but Vanessa refuses to leave her friend. Determining what happened to the missing team member and locating her proved to be more complicated than anyone anticipated. Danger was everywhere and more team members went missing. Vince watched Vanessa and was impressed with her strength and loyalty. He also found himself attracted to her and wanting to protect her. Will they survive the danger and get a chance to explore what’s happening between them?

Vince’s Vixen is the newest addition to the Seals I love from Mrs Mayer. I like the fact that the heroine was feisty and not a pushover. I like that the setting was the Galapagos. I really enjoyed the fact that the mystery was allowed to play out before the romance took it up a notch. I love when you have to unravel a mystery in the story and you do not need to keep trying to figure out why a character is doing something that the situation does not call for at the time. The story is action packed and I can not wait for the next story. Great addition to the series.

This book has you turning the pages faster and faster just to see what happens next. Who is behind the disappearance of Dr Sanchez? Keeps you guessing until the end. Throw in some chemistry between Vince and Vanessa and you have another winner!

The story opens with VInce watching the others in the compound with their other halves and Levi tells him all the good ones are gone and Levi says no you will find a vixen. Vince definitely finds a vixen with Vanessa. She is fierce, smart and intuitive and proves it over and over in this book. This book is faced paced and keeps you guessing throughout. I wasn’t sure who was who and I remained on the edge of my seat all the way. Excellent read. I volunteered to read this via Booksprout.
OMG Dale took us on an adventure with this book and most of it was set on, while not the high seas, the sea 😉 When Vince was sent on this job he had no idea what he was in store for.
While Vince is not in the least bit interested in finding a mate, or so he thinks, he takes a lot of ribbing from Levi and Stone before the start of this mission he was dead set that he wasn’t looking for a mate but that was before he met Vanessa.
This book is so full of exciting happenings from pirates, kidnapping, disappearances, cartel and the never ending great teamwork of Heroes for Hire! They seem to have some assistance in this book from Vince’s Vixen. While the chemistry between Vince and Vanessa was so slow to show up I began to wonder if maybe they wouldn’t make a romantic connection but it did finally happen.
First Dr. Sanchez goes missing when the research ship is boarded by pirates and everyone aboard is knocked cold, tied up and transported to another ship and left there. But as they are rescued by Vince and Johan and set out to search for the missing member of their team, another one disappeared and while looking for that one as well another one disappeared.
This book was actually the most exciting one in the Heroes for Hire series. It kept me turning the page with much anticipation.
Another entertaining book in this series. Kidnapping, possible murder, ship afloat, missing persons..plenty of suspense and action in this tale of intrigue. Vince is our main character, we know due to the other books that he will fall for a woman and he didn’t even see it coming. Vanessa is a great character for him. She’s independent, resourceful and stubborn, he’ll never tame her nor want to. Great story, I thoroughly enjoyed it.
This is another great book from miss Mayer full of mysterie and action and I couldn’t put It down. Miss Mayer is zich a great author and I have all the books in this serie. I received this book via Booksprout for an honest review.
Great story, interesting and complicated characters
After Levi’s tongue-in-cheek teasing at the end of Dezi’s Diamond (Book 18 in the Heroes for Hire series), that he would be next to find his own love on the job, Vince is sent to rescue a young woman whose research vessel had been hijacked off the coast of the Galápagos Islands. Imagine his surprise when he finds Vanessa and her team in an old boat adrift on the water, having freed themselves from their bonds but hiding below, unaware that they were alone on the boat. Seems like a quick mission-accomplished since Vanessa was the person he was sent to rescue, BUT she will not leave until all the members of her research team have been found. The men are there with her, but Dr. Laura is missing. Very fitting that Vince and Vanessa partner up, no longer rescuer and rescued victim, to search for the research vessel, recover its data, and figure out what happened to Dr. Laura. What an exciting adventure and interesting story! Just herding the group to keep them together until they could get home was indeed a nail-biter.

The running joke within this series is that Ice & Levi are matchmaking because every Hero hooks up with the spirited damsel in distress. In this book Vince wasn’t gung ho for that part and puts it behind him. I like that. When Vanessa’s dad hasn’t heard from her in awhile he calls on Levi. Vince and Johann (from Bullards security team) are tasked with going to the Galapagos Islands to find out what’s going on. Vanessa was a tad confusing for me. She shows intelligence, clear thinking when she is trapped and then when she is with Vince she appear to turn into a whiner. Maybe it was a freak out, stress relief moment for her. At one point she disobeys him and causes more of an issue. Stubborn woman! I enjoyed the suspense and not knowing. People were missing, was it corrupt government, cartel, or did they go willingly? All the scenarios were believable and we were right there with them trying to determine what was going on. Suspense – check. Slow build getting to know you – check. Action – you betcha, and Vanessa steps up! Romance – yes, its your bonus and I was surprised by who grabbed the bull by the horns and really went for it. Thank you Dale Mayer, thank you NetGalley, thank you Valley Publishing for the arc. All thoughts and opinions are my own and were unsolicited.
As usual, Dale pulled off another fine story! It definitely had adventure, and danger and love! Vanessa was a bit whiny, but being surrounded by Men who thought they knew better, I’d be whiny too! At the end she showed them! Vince didn’t want anything to do with the whole find your woman deal, but in the end, he indeed did!
Another winner in the must-read Heroes for Hire series with great characters and a well-crafted story that kept me on the edge of my seat and I couldn’t put the book down until I read the last word. I loved the undeniable chemistry between Legendary Security’s Vince Manor and Vanessa Blanchard who is on a research ship off the coast of the Galapagos Islands. Ms. Mayer never disappoints and I look forward to reading book 20 in this series. I received an advance reader copy of “Vince’s Vixen” from Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving my honest review.
Vince’s Vixen by Dale Mayer
Heroes for Hire Series Book Nineteen
Vince Manoj is ready to go on a mission. So, when a call comes in from a man who believes his daughter has gone missing…Vince is ready. Ignoring Levi and Stone as they teased it was his turn to find his soulmate.
Vanessa Blanchard is mad. She wakes up bound and gagged in a ship that isn’t their research vessel. Three of her team is with her, but her friend is missing. It had to be poachers…those nasty men that kill the beautiful sea turtles and steal the eggs for the fun of it…or pirates. Locked in the bottom of an old boat…things aren’t looking too bright. But she’s not one to sit back and quit.
The islanders aren’t too helpful when the men arrive, but Legendary Security has friends all over. The kind of friends who can help with sailboats and weapons and whatever is needed in a short time. Vince has his mind on the mission…no time to realize that something more was happening when he meets the feisty scientist. Another page-turner that kept my attention from beginning to end.

Vince’s Vixen is the 19th book in the Heroes for Hire series, it can be read as a standalone story. Another action packed drama filled romance story. I liked Vince, he is a strong alpha hero and Vanessa was tough as nails but unfortunately came across at times as whiney and annoying. I liked the way they bonded and turned to each other. Another wonderful book in a great series.
I voluntarily reviewed an arc of this book.
