A gripping adventure that tests the strength of love and the devotion of dragon mates in a heart wrenching journey ripe with sizzling romance and boundless intrigue.Kenzie is determined to be there for her sisters no matter what it takes. Even if it means giving herself over to her fated mate, Viking Eirik Sidgir. When she ends up traveling through time to tenth century Scandinavia, she’s ready … Scandinavia, she’s ready for whatever comes her way. Until a chance encounter with Hel, the Goddess of Helheim, who has long loved Eirik.
Having recognized Kenzie from the moment he saw her picture in the twenty-first century, Eirik realizes the time has finally come. A secret close to the heart is about to be revealed, and the stunning red-head is the only person capable of protecting what matters most to him.
Unfortunately, Hel has already stolen Kenzie away. Now he needs to convince the goddess to give him back his bargaining chip because of a little known prophecy. One that foretells he must offer up the woman he loves as ransom to get back what has been taken from him.

I have been wanting a story about Eirik and Kenzie for a long time, and it finally happened! This story was action-filled. To the point where I had to put the book down; similar to turning away from a scary movie. But I always thought Eirik should receive the best story, which I think he did! Eirik always gave of himself to others if they needed something. But then Hel seems to have other plans, and Eirik didn’t want that certain secret revealed. What is it, you wonder? Well, read the book and you’ll find out!
I’ve always cheered for the underdog and if you’ve read the other Viking stories, you’ll know who I’m talking about. Absolutely LOVED this story!! 10 out of 10!!
I’m not one to give spoilers, I’ve waited for Eirik and Kenzie’s story since book one. Was so worth the wait! I can’t wait for Rokar, and Tess’s story!!! Anything Sky Purington writes is a one click for me, if you haven’t read anything from her, then you’re missing out.
If you’re a fan of dragons and time travel, along with Vikings and Norse mythology then this is the book for you! Part of a larger series, if you’ve not read any of the previous books I HIGHLY suggest at least checking out the previous few in this spinoff from the main series. I’ve been waiting for this book as we FINALLY get to see Eirik and his fated mate Kenzie go on their trial. Like all the others there are crazy twists and turns along the way, and more than a few jaw dropping shockers! Kenzie is a fierce female and Gemini Dragon worthy of any Viking warrior. Her heart and compassion for all creatures, coupled with her fierce protective streak make her a true force to be reckoned with. This book is filled to the brim with mythology, dragons, time travel,
action, prophecies of old, hot Vikings and amazing women that love them!!! I for one can’t wait to see more of Kenzie in future books regarding her remaining sisters and their own journeys. More secrets to unearth and mysteries to uncover….until next time
Never leave a review for anything, however, for this author I will. I have been sucked into Sky’s worlds like no other. I am left feeling like my life is on hold until I can get my hands on the next book. I love the way all of her books have a way of making the reader feel like you’re truly there and a part of the story. Her books have become the temporary escape that I can’t wait to get back to.
Keep them coming Ms. Sky
As always with this ever expanding world(s) of ancient Vikings and Scots with “special powers”; this book is excellent. It got a bit convoluted in the middle of the story; but, somehow, Ms. Sky unraveled the bits and the book began to flow with the usual “fun and games” her followers have come to love and expect. Very sexy/steamy characters and some equally steamy scenes. Love Pink, Floyd, and Harley too! I hope a girlfriend is in Harley’s future!
I was given an ARC of this book for an honest review and purchased the published addition.
My heart has hurt for Eirik through this whole series, his life seriously sucks. Stuck living most of his adult life in the world of the dead, he makes everyone sick when he’s around them except for the Goddess of the Dead? Yeah this poor dude needs some major hugs. Grant MacLomain will always be my favorite of Sky’s characters, and didn’t she torture him quite a bit as well, but I think Eirik is my new second favorite.
Kenzie seems to be a little bit more accepting of the fate that awaits her in this prophecy, mating with someone chosen for her in order to save her family, a refreshing change from all of the angst some of the rest of them have experienced, but things are never quite as simple as they seem.
Eirik is keeping a secret, and it’s a doozy, tied to yet another prophecy. Just once wouldn’t it be nice if when someone spoke a prophecy they just blurted it out in simple English, with instructions? Yeah, I don’t see that happening either, which usually means someone is going to make a few false turns before they get to the truth of the matter. I won’t give away any spoilers here, you’ll have to read to find out what this new twist is.
I received a free copy of this book via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review.
