Volumes 1-3 of the Viking Warriors dark historical romance series.
Viking Thunder
Viking Wolf
Viking Beast
Heat level : fiery
As you might expect from a dark romance set in this period of history, there are some scenes which readers may find ‘intense’ – including attempted rape, some violence, and other threatening situations. The story attempts to offer an authentic setting and experience but, be assured, a ‘happy’ ending prevails for Elswyth and the Viking who earns her love.

4 1/2*. I do enjoy a good Viking tale and this box set by Emmanuelle de Maupassant was just what the doctor ordered. It contained Viking Thunder, Viking Wolf and Viking Beast and follows the story of Eirik and Elswyth through conquest, savagery, danger, revenge, lust, passion and love. This set will keep you reading and reading to find out what happens next.

These three stories make a wonderful set. It starts with Viking Thunder where (a half Viking) Elswyth is captured and she agrees to return to their village as a servant to start her life over and learn more about her cultural background. The second one, Viking Wolf continues with Elswyth adapting to her new situation and falling for Eirik. The last story, Viking Beast is the most exciting and has some great surprises. These stories (with great characters) are very entertaining to me.
I loved it. I thought it was really really good.
This has a really meaty storyline that feels realistic for the time. It’s so full of sadness, tragedy, hardships, betrayal but at the same time love runs through it all. I got emotionally involved in it, felt the anguish of the characters in the story and also their hopes, dreams and love. I didn’t want to put the book down or want it to end. I highly recommend this story.

Great collection of three stories from the Viking era. The author brings strong characters with hot and steamy chemistries and takes them on adventurous journeys. She paints her scene in vivid detail taking you back to the day in realistic fashion and does a fabulous job showing the violent culture of the times. Adding in twists and surprises she delivers a fantastic read. Loved and highly recommend.

I enjoyed reading the stories gathered together in this one volume. It helped to keep all the characters fresh in my mind to be able to follow them from one story to the next. The characters themselves are interesting and realistic, with enough strengths and weaknesses to make you sympathetic to their stories. The storylines are complicated, making for interesting reading. I was thoroughly sucked into the world the author created. Excellent writing!

This is a Trilogy of a Viking adventure that links the three stories together. You must read these in order to enjoy , because the story progresses with each one. It builds to a tale of strength, courage, fortitude, survival, and love.
Viking Thunder
It begins when the Northman invade take over and capture Elswith the wife of the Clan leader and his daughter. Eirik and Helka his sister take them on the voyage to there home.
Viking Wolf
Begins when they arrive back in there Svolvaen home.
Eirik and Elswith begin a life. Plenty of changes new ways to adapt to,
she is a healer and worries about be accepted. She wants to be his wife and not just be there at his slave.
So much happening, passion, torment, lust, betrayal, abandonment, plenty to keep you on edge.
Viking Beast
The final chapter of this tale. What will happen to Eirik and Elswith ?
So much goes on still with plenty to tell in this epic tale.
You will not be disappointed .

Really enjoyed this series, fast read and my favorite was the 3rd book. Sorry that I have to wait untill 2022 to get the next installment ! There was some steam, but I wish it was not such 1 point of view. I would have loved to know the real thoughts of Erik. I did not enjoy any of the animal sacrifices but understand that was part of idealogy of the times. Always a go to for this author !

This is the story of Elswyth.
Told mostly from her POV, we see when her village under attack. How her older husband, the chieftain, hide under their bed, offer her to be taken only to have him killed in return.
We see the viking as the raider. Sailor who rape, killed and take what ever they want. And we see them as the farmer in their homeland. As clansmen who would fight for the village too. Who are not heroes since they still take what they want even with the women in their village.
This author doesn’t do romantizing the viking or the dark age of that time. She doesn’t sugar coat how women were place in that time. İf you aren’t nobel with lots of dowry, then you are free far all.
Travel to search where she belongs, Elswyth bound to a man who took her as his only to leave her in uncertainty, seduce by a man who’s on the verge loosing his mind then abducted again to become a thrall/slave.
No hero here to be your book husband.
No damsel in distress who can stand for her self. She merely a survivor, a realistic role in that time of age.
İnteresting read for my first read from the author
Amazing!
This volume consists of 3 Viking Warriors’ stories (Viking Thunder, Viking Wolf and Viking Beast) and the common theme or character is Elswyth.
She must be the one of bravest of characters I have yet read about, enduring her fate yet never giving up hope nor the will to survive.
She is forced to live with and service these three warriors having been captured by each of them at different times and she comes to love each one and they her in return.
This is a violent, passionate and forgiving story, full of revenge, betrayals and secrets with a most satisfying final Epilogue in the third book which makes it all worthwhile.
There were times when I was absolutely emotional, others when I was sitting in awe or in suspense or totally happy with what was happening in these stories but I was glued – I couldn’t put this down for any great length of time … I was totally captivated. Amazing!
Emma Parry, the narrator did a good job and has some interesting ‘voices’ and which she uses for the listener’s benefit and entertainment.
I listened to the audiobook version and my unbiased review is given voluntarily.
