CHRIST ON A CRACKER…Two books down, one to go. And this book was just as fantastic as book one. The writing is phenomenal. It is well paced. The plot continues to be crazy engaging with twists and turns galore. Mischa was slightly more palatable in this book. SLIGHTLY (lol) The guy acts like a serious child sometimes, but the character showed growth and that is what you want to happen in any multi book series. The same goes for Ellen. I wasn’t sure which way her character was headed after the end of book one. In this book she is a strange mix of weak, yet strong at the same time. I can’t wait to see what will happen to these two in the next book. As with the first book there was no OW or OM drama. Last, it all ends on yet another cliffhanger. I will admit I saw it coming, but I am certain with that bomb dropped all hell will break loose in book three. And this reader will be along for the ride.

Major cliffhanger at the end of this book! I loved the story and how Mischa is giving Ellen back something her husband had taken. The ending though…. this is a series that you’re not going to be able to put down at all! Lana Sky is an amazing writer! I’ll be reading more of her books for sure.

VII: Seven War of Roses Book 2 by Lana Sky
Ellen has been through hell and back after being taken by Mischa. Memories that she had long forgotten have come back to haunt her.
Mischa Stepanov has taken the one thing that could break Robert, his wife. He can’t kill her like he thought but instead he will protect her even if it makes him look weak.
Ellen Winthrop has been pulled into a blood feud between the Winthrops and the Mafia that has been going on longer than she has been alive. Stuck between a man that saw her more as a trophy and man who is slowly building her into someone or something, she barely recognizes. With Robert she was meek and quiet but with Mischa she has a voice that is heard and a reason to speak. Mischa knows answers to the secrets that elude Ellen, but some things are better left long dead in the past. Mischa tells her that she is no longer his captive, but she will have to prove her loyalty. But at what price? With more secrets revealed she is unable to decide who to trust. With new lines in the sand, which side will she choose? Can she gamble when its her life on the line?
This book crushed me and then built me back up again to crush me yet again. Mischa is strong but at times he lets Ellen in to see that small part that still belongs to the boy that told her to get under the bed and just breath. He has saved her so many times physically as well as emotionally. He is slowly making her stronger while she is tearing down the walls that he has built around that heart that he thought was black. *sigh* With Mischa it’s almost as if he is daring you to get in his head and not giving a shit about what you find. Love me or hate me. It’s Ellen that is slowing it down because she is afraid of what she will find in him. She is using Robert to shield herself from Mischa because if she looks to deep, she may see a reflection of herself or what she might become. The sensations that Mischa can bring out in Ellen scares the hell out of her because she isn’t used to being touched with tender strokes but only with pain.

Ellen Winthrop believes that her husband Robert has been killed but as long as she plays along with the rules set out by her captor, Mischa Stepanov, a mafia leader, she knows she can survive.
Yet Ellen has many questions about her past and the Winthrop family itself. Will Mischa tell her the truth that she is asking for or will she find that she is still a pawn in a bigger game than she could have ever imagined.
This is such a great series and there are still so many questions and although I am definitely rooting for Ellen, I believe that Mischa really cares for her.
I truly felt bad for Ellen as she learned more about the Winthrop family and what was going on around her. She was so naive and I hated the Winthrop’s for everything they did.
I believed Mischa really loved Ellen and that was shown by him constantly rescuing her from whatever situation she ended up in. Although she was still a piece to the puzzle I think that he was dedicated to her and was going to do what he could to protect her and he wanted her to completely love him and not think about Robert. I understand why Mischa needed revenge on the Winthrop’s for what they did to his family but I felt like there was so much more there.
There was so much discovered about Ellen’s own past and her family line and it was intriguing to see where that placed her.
The bomb that Ellen drops at the end of the book was huge and I can’t wait for what happens in the next book and what we discover!!!

This book is completely mind-blowing! If it’s even possible, it’s better than the first book of the trilogy. Misha and Ellen have a complicated relationship to say the least. This book is not for the faint of heart. If more darkness is better, you’ll be addicted by the end of the this book. This one ends on a cliffhanger and I can hardly wait for the final book of the trilogy, I.

I received an Advanced Reader Copy for an honest and voluntary review
Please keep your hands inside the rollercoaster, at all times, while you go on this wild ride!!! This is book 2, in the War of the Roses trilogy, and picks up right where book 1 leaves off……And boy does it
There are more secrets, you have no idea who to trust, action, brutality, mystery…..I couldn’t quit reading this book
After being brutalized by Mischa, Ellen, has to rely on him for protection. It doesn’t come without the price of still being brutalized by Mischa.
Mischa is struggling internally with trying to love, and being the “mafia monster” he was trained to be
This trilogy just keeps getting better and better!! I highly recommend this book, after reading book 1, and I most DEFINITELY can’t wait for book 3!!!!!!

An intense addition to the story. So many things come out in this story but it’s still nerve wracking. I’ll be honest though, I’ve gotten absolutely nothing done for wanting to finish the book. With the hubby and daughter home I’m spending more time than I should listening to this and so wrapped up I don’t do anything but focus on the story. I LOVE IT!!!

This is one addicting and stunning story. It is so full of twists and turns that will leave you in awe. It is dark and depraved at times but yet you can see so much pain in their lives and hearts. It is beautiful as well as deep in its contents. Caitlin Allgood Knight does a magnificent performance on the characters and reading of the story. This series is a must read. It does end in a cliffhanger but boy is the story worth the wait.

VII: Seven
War of Roses, Book 2
By: Lana Sky
Narrated by: Caitlin Allgood Knight
As this series continues, my love for dark romance comes out. There are times that this kind of story just intrigues me, not because of the violent behavior, but because of how people react to different circumstances. This book does just that and I am completely immersed in Ellen and Mischa’s story.
It picks up right where we left off in book 1, and the abuse Ellen takes from Mischa continues. Though not loyal to her husband, she refuses to give any information to Mischa. She is a strong woman, and that is one of the things that I find fascinating. We also see a turn in Mischa. With the start of this abusive relationship, all I could do was dislike the man. But now there are hints of light and I am curious to see how Ellen’s presence changes him. The cliffhanger s surprising and leaving me to want the next book! Things are about to change, secrets revealed and all the questions I want answered will hopefully come out.
Caitlyn Allgood Knight is nailing the narration. Each character, each accent, each scene is filled with either horror or emotional pulls that kept me on the edge. She is fantastic and can’t wait to see what she has coming up.
Wow, the second book in this series is an intriguing, twisted, dark read!!!!
This is book two in this dark, twisted series and you must read book one, XV : Fifteen, before reading this book. Also this book ends on a cliffhanger to lead you into book three, I : One.
Note: There may be some content in this book that can be triggering to some readers.
Mischa is cruel in his treatment of Ellen Winthorp because he believes she is in love with her husband and is complacent in the way he treats others. Nothing could be further from the truth, Ellen feels absolutely nothing when it comes to her husband, Robert. That’s the only way she’s been able to survive him and his cruel games. She knows loss, but she refuses to give Mischa any information about her life even if he treats her cruelly. She tries to play Mischa’s games, but he’s constantly changing the rules and making it impossible for her to come out on top. Ellen is caught in the middle of a war that started before she was born and she doesn’t see an end in sight. This series is dark, gritty, twisted and I’m loving every minute of it. I’m looking forward to book three, I : One and finding out where it all began. Definitely a must read series for all the twisted dark minded readers out there.

VII (Seven-War of Roses) Book 2
I enjoyed revisiting the characters of this dark mafia series in this second book, the action continues along with some intrigue, twist, and turns
The narrator brought the story to life
“I was given this audiobook at my request and have voluntarily left this review.”
This is dark, twisted and utterly fantastic! From the first page I was hooked and could not put this book down. Miscah and Ellen’s story continues. I’m more intrigued by Mischa, he’s brutal, cruel, violent, caring and protective. Elle is hurt, abused, but becoming stronger. Their relationship is messed up to say the least. The storyline is gripping and brilliantly constructed, the plot is well thought out and palpable, the characters flawed, damaged and well developed. There’s nothing I didn’t love about this book and I’m anxiously awaiting the next book!!
Caitlin really captured each character perfectly and kept me wanting more. I will definitely download and listen to more stories narrated by her!

This is the second book in the captivating War of Roses Series. You have to listen to the first book in the series before this one. The story continues where the last ended. The storyline is very suspenseful, fast-paced and breathtaking, filled with twists and turns, intrigue, and secrets. Both Ellen and Mischa are wonderful characters. Mischa is a very dark character, with a black soul. This is a dark romance, very well written. The story is only told with Ellen’s POV. I would love to have Mischa’s POV. Caitlin Allgood Knight did an outstanding job with the narration. Now, I can’t wait for the next and last book in the Series.

I have finished VII and all I can say is Wow.
I am now sure Lana Sky is the queen of cliffhangers. I loved the characters development. In the first book Mischa was a little closed off ,but now he is slowly opening up. I love the fact that Mischa’s feelings are scratching the surface of his well crafted mask and I love how Ellen drives him mad. And Ellen… oh God she is amazing. In the beggining she was a puppet on strings and by the end of book two she has Mischa in her palms. I love that she grew a back bone and that she is standing up to him and I love how carrying she is and how she tries to protect the little girl. The plot was sooo goood. So many twists and turns. It was not a single part of this book that I didn’t love.
Can’t wait for the final book.

Ok I’m pretty sure this review is going to be all over the place. Please bear with me as I’m trying to put all of my jumbled thoughts in it. I read this book in one sitting. The plot and storyline pull you in, and have you sitting on the edge of your seat just begging for a morsel.
If you thought the first book left you wanting hold on to your kindle, because you are in for a treat with this book. I just need to know. How much can one person take? The mind games and the whole I hate you, but I want you is enough to make your head spin.
Ellen is out through the ringer again… Mischa is as bull headed and guarded as he was in the first book. We do get a little more information on both of them. I just have so many questions that I need answered. The author definitely knows how to build up the story to keep you captivated. Now I just have to wait another month to get the last book. I’m keeping my fingers crossed, because with as explosive as these first two books are I’m pretty sure the third one is going to blow everything out of the water.

Misha sort of lets her take the reins while still slowly guiding her in the direction he wants. I couldn’t put this book down it was one intriguing moment after the other. Things start falling into place and characters you originally thought were sweet and innocent turn out to be the complete opposite you have to read it to believe it

This is book two in the War of the Roses, and continues immediately following the conclusion of book one. In book one it was revealed that Ellen is number XV (15) “victim” of the Winthrop family. Number VII (7) is revealed in this book plus several others. Ellen is being held by Mischa and their relationship is quite dark and antagonist. She wonders quite frequently if he is really sane. This series is dark, abusive, compelling, and also captivating. The characters are impeccable in their portrayal. Absolutely excellent read you don’t want to miss!
