All his life, Vidar Rourke has stood tall against every challenge he’s faced—from his father’s fists to the demanding world inside an MMA cage. Providing for and protecting his family has been the north star on the path he set for himself years ago, and he’s never faltered. Never get attached. Two men have come into his life like a whirlwind hellbent on throwing him off course. One a new … course. One a new possibility and the other an old ache—both equally tempting. As his walls start to crumble, he’ll have to balance letting them close enough without dropping his guard.
Never reveal your weak spots.
An old mistake crawls out of the shadows issuing a challenge and threatening the delicate harmony he’s found with his lovers. Stepping into the cage again was never part of the plan, but as the door shuts behind him on the most important fight of his life—he’ll make every punch count.

Vidar finally gets his second chance and HEA. He has loved Rocco since he was a teenager but is letting the past prevent them from being together. Niko is the glue that holds these two together and fixes their past. He is perfect for them. This was a perfect blend of romance, emotion, danger, and of course steamy sex.
Vidar’s story was the one I was most interested in since the beginning of the series, so OF COURSE it was the last one! I am very glad to say it was so worth the wait!
Another story from this amazing family, brilliant characters and a story that is just the right balance of sweet and angsty. A great finale to the series, although I hope the Rourke brothers will be back 🙂
Is it hot in here?
Vidar, always serious and always taking care of his whole family.
Nico, at a loss, trying to understand how he feels and why he feels this way!
Rocco, sad at the loss of Vidar, but welcoming Nico into his life.
There is an attraction among the three, but they do not know what to do about it though! Navigating a regular relationship between two people is a challenge in itself but when you are falling in love with two people with the same intensity would require all of your heart and wits to contend and understand.
His past has been coming back to confront Vidar, first Rocco and now a former opponent he defeated when he was younger is out for Vidar’s blood. Force to return to the ring for one last time, Vidar sets out to prepare himself for the fight of his life.
But along the way, his relationship with two amazing men is growing intensely and fast. As Rocco said, maybe it is time for him to be happy too now that his family is in a good and happy place. And Let me just say that I will never look at the cage of an MMA fight the same ever again! So so so hot, hot, hot!
A story of three men who have learned to accept that they are not perfect but with the love they have between them, it couldn’t be as perfect as it is right now. Ms. Michelle Frost, you have endeared me to these beautiful men in this series, I am in love with all of them but more so with Vidar, Niko, Rocco and my favorites Rory and Magnus! Congratulations!
I’ve been fascinated with Vidar from the first book of the Open Wounds series. The stone faced, cold eyed brother,a vigilant sentinel over his family, always putting his brothers and his mather’s wellbeing before his own.
One by one,Vidar has watched his brothers find love and happiness. But now his time has come, too…FINALLY!! Oh,he doesn’t make it easy for Rocco and Niko to take down his walls, despite how desperately Vidar wants them both. And,hot damn, when the three of them eventually get together, the heat and fieriness reached me through the pages, making my mouth dry and my heartbeat speed up.
I have to admit, though, that my favorite thing about the story was reading about Vidar melt the ice in his blue eyes, the cold stares turn to warmth every time he looked at his loved ones. Or seeing him mellow his protectiveness, starting to put himself and his own happiness first.
ᐯᎥᗪᗩᖇ was a long awaited book and it’s as amazing as I knew it would be. Like every other romance Michelle Frost has written, the best way to describe it is high powered intensity and fierceness.
I love everything about this book and this series: the characters, the love stories, the strong sense of family and belonging. I really hope it’s not the last I’ll be reading about Vidar and the rest of the great people of the Open Wounds series.
My favourite of the series so far!
I have to say, MMM can be a little hit and miss for me so I was wary about this one. I’m glad I was wrong because actually it’s written rather well. That seems like faint praise but I have some very picky views about poly relationships in romance (including that representation of poly relationships should not solely be triads). For how short this book is it really did well in establishing their relationship.
Anyway, the fact is I really liked this book and while I do think there could have been more time spent on the relationship itself, I thought that the characters worked really well together. What made this my favourite was hands down Vidar. I love this man so much. He’s come across in the earlier books as such a quiet, stoic, almost dour man and really he’s just a sweetheart. I have a real soft spot for strong and silent and Vidar was that and so much more. He had depths guys. I just wanted him to realise how worthy of being loved by Rocco and Niko he was and I’m so, so glad he got his HEA.
I loved Vidar, it was just such a great book. I love 3 men together and how they build their relationship. It’s got a little second chance and brand new lover all combined in one. It was fast-paced, sweet and super sexy and hot. I love how all the characters from the previous books play a real part in this story. I really like how it ended too. I definitely recommend this book.
