He’s prince charming. Just not hers.
I have a secret.I stole a heart, or rather a marriage contract. It wasn’t mine to own, to look at or to even consider. But it was there for the taking so I took it.Huge mistake.Ronan Astor is a nobility in this world.Arrogant player.Heartless bastard.Vicious prince. Now, he’s out to destroy me. What he doesn’t know is that I’m out to destroy him too.
My name is Teal Van Doren, and I’m where princes go to die.
Vicious Prince is part of Royal Elite Series but could be read on its own. For better understanding of the world, you might want to read the previous books first. This is a mature new adult and contains situations that some readers might find offensive or triggering.

This Royal Elite world by Rina Kent is one of my favorite worlds to read in. She tests your boundaries in every book in one way or another which I LOVE! Vicious Prince kind of snuck up on me. I didn’t expect to like it as much as I did. Ronan was the character from this series that I wasn’t overly anxious to read but I found myself falling hard for Ronan & Teal’s unconventional relationship from the get go. The push and pull between these two and the connection between them just immediately grasps you.
Snatching an arranged marriage contract from her sister Elsa, Teal Van Doren is set on accomplishing one goal. Destroy the person that destroyed her, and she’ll do anything she needs to in order to accomplish that goal. Including giving up the ONE thing that she never knew she wanted.
Throughout the rest of the series I always felt that Ronan Astor was just this fun, wisecrack that enjoyed making the people around him smile. Boy was I wrong! We get to see who Ronan Astor truly is in Vicious Prince. What I love most is the way that Ronan & Teal connect, in a way that is as shocking and unexpected to these characters as it is to myself as the reader.
I can’t wait to see what Rina brings us in Cole’s story, which is next!!!
Rina Kent has a habit of giving all her characters’ flaws, which only makes them that more interesting. I love the take on Ronan and why he is the way he is.

The 5th book in this series and it is still going strong. But is it as bully as the first 4? Not isn’t – but that isn’t necessarily a bad thing. In fact in this case it is a pretty good thing! I didn’t think that sweet, funny Ronan could bring the “Vicious ” as hard as his friends certainly not as hard as the King of cruelty Aidan and he didn’t. What he did bring was a big heart, lots of compassion and a hell of a lot of sexy! Funny until this book I wasn’t even attracted to him and put him firmly into the friend zone. He showed such heart and vulnerability that you just wanted to give him a big giant warm hug and then have sex with him But first a big hug especially when you learn of the terrible secret of his past.
Teal is also not as she appears. She was the tough don’t talk to me girl from books prior in the series. In this book she reveals her vulnerability and her own haunted past. She has a terrible secret of her own that is leading her on a path to deadly vengeance.
The heart of this book is watching Ronan and Teal fall in love against both of their wills. The enemies of the enemies to lovers part of their journey is fairly quick and very light. They become drawn to each other from the start and can’t help but fall for each other hard. They both unknowingly share a painful past that has somehow drawn them closer to each other. Their love blooms and blossoms among the ashes, ruins and scars of their past and it is a touching thing to behold.
Of all the stories in this series, this has been the sweetest, even though it has the usual darkness and bully trope. In this elite school of the royal and entitled, children are often seen as tools in their parents’ machinations. As such, Ronan and Teal’s fathers want to strike a business deal and the way they cement the agreement is to betroth their children. Initially, the plan was to engage Ronan to Elsa, Teal’s older sister but those plans went awry. So, the deal falls on Teal. Ronan applies a lot of pressure on Teal to renege on the deal, but Teal has other plans, and accepts the engagement. Then it’s like a declaration of war.
Teal is a strange girl. She acts like she has no feelings, she’s not social at all, only has a few friends and she refuses any kind of physical contact. She walks around ignoring everyone around, doesn’t care when she’s the butt of a joke, and her only attention is to her phone, from where she’s always reading articles about war. Although Ronan is enraged with the situation, he can’t help but be intrigued with this strange girl.
“Her lack of reaction is beginning to grate on my fucking nerves. Her disinterest and mighty attitude has started to scrape against my walls, and even I don’t know how I’ll act if those walls.”
Teal has secrets, a past trauma that has made her all closed up. From the get to, I knew she was planning revenge on Ronan’s family but we’re not aware on whom and why. All we know is she feels a lot of remorse with Ronan’s mother who is such a loving and frail woman.
Ronan also harbors a secret from his past and that’s why he acts with such belligerence toward his father. His only ally in the house is the butler Lars, who is his confidante and accomplice in his parties and misdemeanors.
In this case, both characters were intriguing and I loved both. Teal is closed off from the world and from feelings and I feel for her. As she gets closer to Ronan, you can feel like that shield of ice is slowly melting and how he is getting to her.
Ronan never allows himself to be alone and so, has affected a persona of the always smiling and jovial friend who invites everyone to his house for parties every other day. He’s in a constant effort to be surrounded by people at all times. This need hides a past trauma too.
I loved how the story developed, how Ronan, who was so imposing and authoritarian at first, changes into this needy boyfriend who wants Teal at his side because only she brings him peace. They are such a lovely couple, once they get past their issues. Loved the spectacular ending and the Teal that emerged at the end of the story.
Now waiting on Cole, the enigmatic guy who is always reading a book, same as Teal did. Let’s see what childhood issues he brings to the book!
One of my favorite things about Rina’s writing is she is not afraid to bring the dark, not talked about, subjects of life to light. She shows time and time again that these terrible acts of injustice can be overcome, and that people can thrive even after the darkness of pain!
This books is no exception. I have always had a soft spot for real ever since book 1. I have wondered about her, who she is, and what led to her becoming the person we meet. I knew it would be bad, but I also knew she would be strong in spite of it. Rina’s female leads are written with a strength that is fought for, and built on adversity. This makes them tougher then even they know. Tesla’s family loves and supports who she is, and she doesn’t take that for granted.
Ronan Astor always has a smile. Sometimes the happiest people hold the most pain, and hurt. Ronan is no exception. He has been a but of a mystery for me since the beginning. He comes off as shallow and vapid, but we do get glimpses of a deeper side in the previous books.
Together these two bring out the worst in each other, and that may be the best thing they need. This is not a story of redemption as there is nothing to be redeemed. This is a story of accepting who they are inspite where they come from.
This books gripped me from the very first sentence, and left me heartbroken that it ended. I do know this book will get at least another read before Cole’s book to fully digest all the other characters that took a backseat to Teal and Ronan.
Absolutely perfection!!!
I love this book so much. I devoured it and couldn’t put this book down once I started reading this fantastic story!! This book is 100% PERFECTION!
I’ve always wonder about Ronan and finally in this book I got all the answers I wanted. His emotions run so deep and he is so much more that what I was expecting and now I think he is my favourite from the Horsemen.
Teal took me by surprise and I’m completely in love with her character. She is unique, stronge, beautiful and just simply amazing.
Ronan and Teal are complete opposites but so good together. Their relationship is bumpy but oh so good. The drama and angst of this book was perfection and for me was one of the best books of this year. So definitely a must read!!!
It’s important that you pay attention to the Author’s Note. There may be some of you that want to pass by the Blurb in order to get right to the story but it’s an interesting introduction to this story’s characters – if you so choose. Plus you’ll find a Playlist to check out.
Teal Van Doren seems so cynical for one so young – makes you wonder why. She seems to do a lot of talking to herself which is a great way to get to know the type of person she is. Our first meeting of Ronan Astor is through her eyes. She also takes the time to involve the reader and that’s a good reason to not turn away – you just never know when she’ll talk to you again. It’s a pretty good incentive to keep on reading.
For one still wet behind the ears, Ronan is very conceited. Would love to know the author’s thought processes when she created him. He also talks to the reader but I don’t know that I want him to do that since his head size might get bigger – just kidding. He makes it tough to find any redeeming qualities at the beginning but you will see him grow as the story goes on.
The author did a great job at creating a secondary character that was easy to hate. Once you start to see him, I think you may agree. He is important to the story though because he’s pivotal into helping you to solve some of the questions you may have throughout. It was interesting to watch how this author turned things around. Like a night without any moon or stars but slowly the sun comes out where everything becomes clear and things start to smell fresh and clean. This became a great incentive for me to check out the rest of the series.
I was not compensated nor was I required to write a positive review. The opinions I have expressed are my own.

Rating above says 4 but really it is 4 1/2 starts. I really, really enjoyed this book. Ronan as always been seen as the loves for have a good time, playboy with the noble title. I loved his personality in all the previous books for causing a little mischief with his friends lol.
Teal is dark, moody and a mystery to everyone. She almost comes in with a chip on her shoulder and a f*** you attitude. But when 2 people are thrown together when one doesn’t want to, means it will always be a interesting ride
Their story was heartbreaking but as well as healing and uplifting. It moved quickly and kept my interest with the interactions with Ronan and everyone else (especially Cole and Aiden).
Her life was never full of roses, it was gritty, cringeworthy and downright devastating.
It left her emotionally scarred, and now she’s the girl who chooses silence and glares at people.
His life is better from the outside, but he’s become proactive and thus smiles and flirts his way to the top of the kingdom.
Two very different people one looming arranged marriage, will they even make it to the alter … ?
This is the fifth book in the royal elite series and now it’s time for Ronan to step forward along with Teal.
There is darkness within this book, and moments of intensity. There are no rainbows or unicorns in sight, and I’m more than sure that there are trigger topics within the pages.
Teal and Ronan are exact opposites of each other but you know how the saying goes, right..?
Character wise I loved Teal and how she simply didnt care what others thought of her, she is so confident and strong its untrue.
Her outlook on love is unique and her attitude to life in general is quite refreshing. She’s an amazing character.
Ronan dissapointed me a little. He wasn’t what I thought he would be, and it took a while for me to warm up to the new version of him. But I was glad that he wasnt just a playboy.
I loved how unpredictable they both were, and the games they played never worked out quite like they thought. That brought a smile to my face many a time, even if I did want to bang their heads together!
Rina kent has once again written a book that will wow your mind and woo your heart.
Just when I don’t think Rina can top a new book, she rips the rug out from under me. I’ve waited for Ronan and Teal’s book for what seems like forever. It was everything I’d hope it would be. The heartache Ronan and Teal went through as kids I felt it in my bones. We have one more book to get through with the Four Horsemen series and I’m going to be so sad when it ends.
This was such a fantastic book, I hope I have the words to leave a review. This series just keeps getting better, and that says something. I thought NOTHING could top Black Knight. That book made me cry my eyes out, it was wonderful. With this book we are seeing Ronan and Teal. Ronan is one of the 4 friends(or horsemen, as classmates call them), and Teal, Elsa’s foster sister(Elsa is the heroine in the first 3 books). Immediately there is a strong connection to Teal. She reminds me of my youngest daughter in a lot of ways.
These two, and a whole world of mess. I mean we knew Ronan as a joker, and all around playboy. We had no idea the type of damage he had. We see it here, he is laid bare. Teal, wow, that girl. I was so happy to see more of this world that Rina Kent has brought to life for so many people. The world keeps evolving, the characters keep growing, and it was a stellar book. The emotions, ugh, my heart hurts, the writing is gripping, it pulls you in, and makes you a part of the story. This story is told in dual pov.
Vicious Prince 4.5
Let me start by saying i spent the day in bed reading that book and it was so worth it, i knew Ronan was going to be my favorite and he indeed was this book was so beautifully real.
Ronan is the life of the party and he doesn’t plan on giving that up for no one,
Teal has a plan to fight away her demons once and for all but what happens when her walls starts breaking down for the one person they shouldn’t?
The chemistry in this book was off the charts, the story line was beautiful the character development was beyond, i just loved everything about it from start to finish, i would’ve liked to see more of Kim and Elsa but we got to see more of the boys and glimpses of Silver which were very intriguing, this book was on a deeper emotional level from the others. Ronan was a complete hit for me and even better Teal cause i didn’t see it coming. their stories and their characters spoke a lot to me and i just couldn’t put it down. definitely recommend.

Vicious Prince by Rina Kent is the fifth book in her Royal Elite series. While this can be read as a standalone, I recommend reading the entire series. This is the story of Teal and Ronan and their arranged marriage and all the secrets high society families have and hold close.
Teal is scheming towards her own end goals, total annihilation of the Astor family. This is why she agrees to marry Ronan in her foster-sister’s place so that Aiden and Elsa can stay together. She claims to be doing this for her father, but mostly it is for her revenge.
Ronan has been putting on a perfected front of amiability and happiness and smiles for years. Ever since the incident he has felt the need to surround himself with people and to do that he needs people to like him so he made himself likeable, always, end of. But Teal doesn’t buy his happy façade and refuses to drop the arranged marriage. Ronan vows to make her regret it but the closer he gets to her darkness the more his comes out to play.
Emotional and dark, with some really sad and disturbing backstory to both Ronan and Teal’s characters. This was another awesome dark read that I couldn’t put down and was sad when it was over. Loved it! Enjoy!
Dear god I was dying to read my baby’s book for so long and finally, FINALLY, I’ve read it!!! Just one word comes into my head right now, WOW!!! I WAS NOT EXPECTING THIS AT ALL!!! Ron’s book is filled with so many surprises and I promise you you’ll fall in love with him even more‼ Now I can’t wait for my other baby, my SOULMATE, Cole’s book. Also, those sex scenes are on fucking fire‼
An ARC was recieved in exchange for an honest review!! Thank you!!
This was a really good book, and very dark like Rina’s other work. The only thing I didn’t really like was that Teal was portrayed as super broken and the romance seemed a little forced at times.
I really wished that these guys had a little better story but it was still a pretty good read.
Rina never disappoints!!! I’ve anticipated Ronan and Teal’s story and it was worth the wait. I absolutely love this series!!
Oh My Gosh! Yes!! This book!!
Holy Moly! You definitely need to read this!
Vicious Prince is some of Rina Kent’s best work and not to be missed. Its raw, dirty and deliciously good!
I was expecting Ronan & Teal’s story to be good but damn, Rina blew me away!
Do yourself a favor & grab yourself a copy today!
i had high expectations for this book because i love ronan. i have always loved ronan because of his funny personality. sad to say, i was a bit disappointed. vicious prince was boring. i guess i have gotten used to rina’s writing and plots, that everything just seemed like the same as the previous books.
there were a few things that i enjoyed like how ronan uses the term ma belle as an endearment. it was cute haha. i also liked how there was more to ronan. behind his funny, positive exterior is someone who is broken on the inside. he does his best to be happy to the people around him. i was a bit hesitent when it came to teal bc she was kinda like “whatever” to me in the previous books. her action in the end caught me off guard, like girrrrl. i didn’t know you had it in you?!?!
not gon lie, the sizzling sex scenes were hot. ronan is the type to talk dirty, like real dirty. and boyy does he got a mouth lol. the pacing of the relationship was a bit fast paced. not really developed, it was like one day they woke up and realized they got feelings for each other. overall, it was an okay book. i wish it could’ve been better cause i really like ronan.
“…if you stood at the bottom of the cliff, I would fall over with my eyes closed. Do you know why? Because I know you’d catch me.”
will i read her next book (ruthless empire)? most likely. i’m very intrigued about cole. hopefully it will better!
[arc provided in exchange for honest review]
I’ve been waiting for Ronan’s book and I was not disappointed!! There’s angst, emotion, action and a side of the characters that I did not expect! There’s depth and vulnerability and just wow!
Every time I read one of Rina’s books I think it’s my favourite then the next comes out and I change my mind! These characters are so much more than you expect and I love that I was kept on my toes!
I breathe for the Royal Elite series. With every book, Rina Kent takes a piece of my heart, permanently. She knows how to plays with the reader’s feelings, creates exceptional heroes and unpredictable plots. I couldn’t put Vicious Prince down. The author gave us a new level of dark high school bully romance.
I did not know what to expect from Vicious Prince. During previous books, I had a vision of Ronan and Teal personalities but everything was a lie. Don’t let Ronan goofy attitude and wide smile blind you. It’s just a mask. Both of them hides secrets and dramatic pasts. And to get revenge someone is going to pay the ultimate price.
The author turned my world upside down with Ronan and Teal’s story. It was consuming, dark, twisted, and heartbreaking. Beside scorching-hot tension and chemistry between the heroes I could feel the longing and a deep need of having someone by your side. Someone who accepts your level of craziness and possessive streak. Who supports you and doesn’t judge. Who will destroy the nightmares and learns how to smile with happiness and love.
Only one more book to go. I am not ready to let this amazing world go, but I am super excited about what the author is going to give us with Cole and Silver’s story. I can’t wait!
