The story gets darker as we learn more about the Tobias (Elias’ father) and the Crown and Dagger. These are evil, evil people. Big secrets are revealed, but the lies and manipulation keep piling up.
At first, Tatum vowed to do whatever she had to in order to escape. For now, she just wants to stay sane and not turn into a dead-eyed, broken doll, but it won’t be easy. Things are getting rough for her. Really rough. She wants to fake her compliance and pleasure, but she likes what Elias does—sometimes.
The story is building to a big finish with a showdown looming between Elias and his father. I hope Tobias spends the rest of his miserable life tormented by people with morals and desires equal to his own—and who hate him. Death is too good for him
Pussnbooks.net Reviewing the darkest erotic books we can find.
At the end of book 1 it looked like Tatum had finally flipped her bitch switch and some s**t was gonna go down but sadly that doesn’t seem to be the case.
The book picks up exactly where it left off at the end of book one. After Tatum stabbed Tobias in the neck (and in my opinion, he deserved that and so much more) she went back to constantly feeling bad about what she’d done.
TATUM – Arg! She went a full 180 degrees away from what I wanted her to do. She started to believe everything that Elias accused her of!
She starts to believe that she must have killed Ben and that she must have signed the contract but just can’t remember doing it. I was so disappointed. I really wanted her to fight back.
When a huge storm threatens the safety of the girls they have to be moved to The Lodge before they’re considered “ready”. There they are all told to make sure no one ever finds out that they are there against their will etc. and Mellie gleefully tells Tatum that a couple of girls have attempted an escape before but wound up being found dead in a forest somewhere.
After a close brush with death, Tatum does finally snap out of her sad little world and remember that she most definitely did not do those things. However, she still doesn’t have enough fight in her for my liking and I quickly lost interest again.
ELIAS – So this time Elias actually grows a couple of brain cells and realises that all may not be as it seems.
He finally suspects his father is hiding many things from him and is on a mission to make the third level of the secret society so that he can find out what those things are. I’m not sure why he would ever have believed some of the far fetched stories he’s been told by his father and friends, I mean he doesn’t come across as a stupid man really, so why not have an original thought of his own?
I’ll be honest. I still don’t find him appealing. There is nothing that he has done so far that makes me gasp or wriggle a little while I’m reading. It’s all just…missing.
FINAL THOUGHTS – I don’t like giving bad reviews because I know how much work goes into writing any book and I am glad to see that there are quite a few 5-star reviews but it just didn’t do it for me.
The writing was good but the story just couldn’t keep my attention.
I might try a different series at a later date but for now, it’s a no.
2.5 Stars
Exciting in the horror
Spoiler book 1
Once again Stella Hart has captivated me with an extremely difficult story sometimes to bear, with characters that come closer and closer to the truth and the actual functioning of the organization. As for the end of this book, it’s even worse; the cliffhanger suggests an exciting end.
Tatum has discovered that she is on an island and can not escape. She had almost convinced Elias of her innocence but she remains a prisoner against her will because she never accepted the contract that would be binding on the organization of the “Crown and Dagger”. Elias still hesitates between the version of Tatum and the one from the man who raised him but who might not be his father.
These are real roller coasters of emotions, from disgust to passion.
I voluntarily reviewed an Advance Reader Copy of this book.
Vicious King is book two in the Dark Dynasty Trilogy and it picks up where Heartless Prince left off. Elias doesn’t know who to believe because his father’s stories aren’t checking out and Tatum refuses to fully answer his questions. This book had me questioning everything and everyone because one minute I want Elias and Tatum together and the next I was hoping she could escape. This is a dark, twisted, well written, intense story full of murder, suspense, betrayal, secrets, lust and a cliffhanger that left me breathless.
More lies and sick depraved agendas are facing Tatum. The Dark Dynasty continues with the machinations of the Crown and Dagger Society. Elias might be her salvation, or her downfall. This was a great continuation, with such darkness and twisted minds! I don’t know who to trust anymore! I’m completely on the edge, waiting for the next book to come out!
This book is brilliant, I was eagerly anticipating the release of this book and I was not disappointed! I LOVED it! The only bad thing is that I have to wait for the final part to be released to finally complete the story! Each book is getting better and better. There is so much drama and emotion in this story. There are a lot of triggers also due to the adult content and themes in the story and there are some unsavory parts that may trigger some people. But I have to say, if you like dark you will love this series and please do read it from the beginning. I admit I wasn’t overly keen on the Prequel but since reading Book one and now Book two I understand it more! Brilliant series I really can not say enough good things about it without giving the plot away! I wish I could give it more than 5 stars! Holy Hell, I just thought the prequel, “Wild Elite” or book one, “Heartless Prince” was dark. Those two had nothing on this, book two, “Vicious King”. Stella Hart took this one to a deeper, darker level than what I thought was coming. The plot and subplots take twists and turns and each small piece of information is released to the reader. Her characters, as they continue to grow, either towards good or evil, are mesmerizing in their tale. Ask me if I’m vested in this series and I’d have to shout YES!!! There is no way I could put down this book until I was finished and don’t even ask me not to finish this series, it’s just not happening.

And what a Vicious King he is!!!
First, please make sure to read the prequel, Wild Elite and book one, Heartless Prince, before reading this book. This is not a standalone and you will be lost if you don’t read them first.
This book is absolutely captivating and exciting. I just finished reading it and there are so many different emotions running through me right now, I truly feel breathless. Elias King is still working on getting the truth from Tatum regarding her situation. To him something is just not feeling kosher and there are so many lies, secrets and dark truths it’s hard to wade through it all. Tatum has come to realize that she must play the game in order to win the war and that is just what she sets her mind to do. Tobias wants to get Elias into the third level of the Crown and Dagger society so he can prove to everyone the Elias is just like Tobias, a monster. That would make Tobias a very proud father. Things are getting down right scary for Tatum, she doesn’t know what the truth is or if it’s all just part of the sick game. When she hears a truth she can’t deny, will it truly break her? Will she have lost the war before it even started? This book ends on one heck of a cliffhanger and I’m dying for the next book. Grab this one today to find out what terrible fate awaits Tatum and if she has anything at all left to believe in or fight for!!!!! .

Once again Stella Hart has given us another wild ride through the dark dynasty of Crown and Dagger. In this book we have Tatum at her lowest points, but she also has some strong moments. She’s building herself up mentally and slowly finding ways to get herself out of this captivity. We read Elias still being blinded by the lies he’s been fed, but also asking questions. He’s working his way up the levels in the Crown & Dagger society, much to his fathers delight, but his motives aren’t exactly what dear old dad probably wants. Tatum and Elias have had an undeniable connection from the start even though it probably shouldn’t have been that way considering the circumstances. Now these two have deepened this connection with each other that shouldn’t be possible, but it’s also what brings more and more to light in the story. I don’t want to say too much, because it could spoil the happenings in this book, BUT I will say that Hart does a fantastic job keeping the reader turning pages. I NEED to know what’s going to happen next. I NEED to know what secrets will be revealed. I NEED to know whether or not these characters will stay strong or do what’s right. Agh! So good.
Vicious King does end with a cliffhanger, and I’m already DYING for the next book. WHAT IS GOING TO HAPPEN?
This is the second book in this awesome trilogy, and continues straight on from where first novel ended. Elias still believed that Tatum is a willing slave, but as time goes on he starts to see discrepancies appearing. This is a well written dark, intriguing, and emotional story which is filled with suspense, action, lust, twists, betrayal and is a sinister read. I was completely captivated throughout this addictive page turner, and I cannot wait to read the next book.

This is the next instalment of the dark dynasty series and it never disappoints.
Tatum and Elias battle each other and the dark forces around them
When danger causes them to move to new surroundings the depravity and malice of the third level members comes to light this leaving the book on an amazing cliff hanger.
With so many new things coming to light, can Tatum over come the ofds? Will Elias betray her again? I need to know what happens next I can’t wait for book 3
This book picks up from book one. It is not a standalone and you have to read book one first or you will be frustrated and lost. As Elias and Tatum’s story continues, the plot thickens, feelings evolve, secrets and lies continue to pile up and the intensity increases. This is a dark romance, so keep that in mind. It does contain content that could be triggers for some and others will just not be a fan of. I myself, am quite hooked on this series. I enjoyed this installment and am eager for book three. With a story that is intriguing, twisted and sometimes shocking, you are kept entertained and on edge. The characters are compelling and complex. As their journey continues more and more layer are revealed. Be aware that this book also ends on a cliffhanger (and it’s a jaw dropper!), so prepare yourself as best you can.
Another outstanding book by this incredibly talented author. It was so intense. Just when I thought I knew what was going to happen, it took me on a wild ride to the dark side. Elias and Tatum are still trying to figure things out. Can they do it before it’s to late?
I am so hooked on this series! This book follows directly on from Heartless Prince and you must read them in order. This story is a total mind warp! There is a huge sense of danger as Tatum and Elias fall in love but have zero trust in each other. There will also be consequences from Elias’ father, the evil Tobias, who has a serious axe to grind with Tatum (who had a spring to sharpen, lol). As Tobias is the head of the crazy Crown & Dagger society, he is a master manipulator with money and connections to burn in pursuit of his psycho beliefs. The story ends on a massive, warped chapter that will leave you with your mouth open & hanging out for Twisted Empire.
I am voluntarily leaving my opinion of a review copy of this book.
Heartless and vicious? For sure dark, gritty and filthy… Insanely fantastic!
Will Heartless Prince become the Vicious King? What’s really going on in the secret society? Will Tatum succeed and flee?
I devoured this book in one sitting. Already after prequel and first part I knew that when I start to read I won’t be able to stop. There were moments when I was acting like watching most twisted psychological thrillers. I wanted to cover my eyes and didn’t want for main characters to go through the motions of the scene but curiosity was stronger and I was peaking through the fingers to check what will happen next. It was dark, intense and raw read. Sometimes I cried, sometimes I bite my nails and some moments juts made me sit at the end of my bed just ready to bolt. I almost could feel what Tatum was going through. The writing style was doing that to me. I could feel her anger, her being anxious and her being broken, hollow and devastated. I won’t spoil this book for you fellow reader. If you read prequel and first book you know this is must read, if you didn’t give it a try. I knew there will be a cliffhanger but right now I just can’t wait for next part, I’m feeling anxious to put my hands on it.
