EmiliaThey say love and hate are the same feelings experienced under different circumstances, and it’s true. The man who comes to me in my dreams also haunts me in my nightmares. He is a brilliant lawyer.A skilled criminal.A beautiful liar.A bully and a savior, a monster and a lover.Ten years ago, he made me run away from the small town where we lived. Now, he came for me in New York, and he isn’t … lived. Now, he came for me in New York, and he isn’t leaving until he takes me with him.
Vicious
She is a starving artist.
Pretty and evasive like cherry blossom.
Ten years ago, she barged into my life unannounced and turned everything upside down.
She paid the price.
Emilia LeBlanc is completely off-limits, my best friend’s ex-girlfriend. The woman who knows my darkest secret, and the daughter of the cheap Help we hired to take care of our estate.
That should deter me from chasing her, but it doesn’t.
So she hates me. Big fucking deal.
She better get used to me.
Vicious a complete standalone and a part of the Sinners of Saint series

A bad boy who is almost… almost good. As you can see I am still on a binge read of more contemporary… yet slightly twisted… almost not twisted … I love that knife edge, it’s what I am striving for in my books too… so I loved Vicious… 🙂
I can not believe how good this book is! The emotions… The depth… The arc… Even the music (authors that include playlists are the $#!+)! I don’t yet have words to write an adequate review (give me a few days) – but please – do yourself an immense favor and GO GET IT NOW! And read it immediately. Then come back and say thank you 😉
Okay, okay. I GET IT. I get the Vicious love. At first, I kinda hated myself for loving the jerk—and I still do a little bit—but I can’t help it. I love him. I love Millie. I loved this freakin’ book.
“He was perfectly imperfect. Flawlessly flawed. Most importantly- he was Vicious.”
Vicious caught me off guard, and I ended up staying up all night to finish the book. I loved everything about this. The down to earth girl, the jackass boy, and the complicated history.
Emilia met Vicious when her parents got a job at his family’s mansion. Vicious was cruel to her and treated her like scum. So she tried to avoid him as much as possible. Unfortunately, she couldn’t avoid him when she started dating one of his best friends.
On the outside, Vicious was the rich boy that everyone wanted to be. He was popular, handsome, and athletic. But Emilia saw through him, and he didn’t know if his feelings toward the artsy girl was love or hate.
When things got out of control, he forced Emilia to leave California.
Years later, the two run into each other in New York, and he offers her an olive branch. Her debt was so high from taking care of her sick sister, and she desperately needed the money Vicious offered. So she accepted the job to be his personal assistance.
Vicious planned on using her and leaving her, but Emilia had other plans. She’s not going to make the same mistakes from high school. Now it’s her turn to leave him high and dry.
Rules are broken, and the two can’t stop the inevitable. Even though Vicious is a jerk throughout the majority of the book, I love everything about him. As the story switches point of views, we get to really dive into his crazy fabulous mind.
I still can’t stop thinking about this story, and I’m so excited for book #2!
This author got me so deep into the main characters that it was scary how much I cared, how much I needed to follow their story and find out everything about them, how much I didn’t want the story to end.
And the best part? Vic/Vicious appears in other books in the series featuring other characters from this ridiculously well developed world/neighborhood of boys and men, girls and women. A uniquely involving read full of angst and very hot sex.
My favorite type of book—alpha to the max and an a$$hole. I loved Vicious and although I love all of the Hotholes guys, Vic is my favorite. Dirty, mean, and in a suit. Swoon…
Oh my all I can say is i absolutely fell in love with this story and characters!! Which i was very surprised by, because Vicious had me a little taken a back for a while!!
** spoiler alert ** I love love love this book! I know Vicious is a dick but I don’t care I love it. There are so many quotes from this book that I love. I would loved to see even more of the hotholes and how they all interacted when Dean was with Emilia because it was driving Vicious nuts. It all came full circle for them and it was awesome. Emilia seems to just balance him out and they are so meant to be. I also felt bad for Emilia because she was basically sacrificing herself and what she wanted to take care of her sister.
This book is amazing a must read!
If ever there was a book that the title fit the story perfectly, this one would take the award. Vicious aka Baron Spencer is a cruel, no holds barred, mean, selfish, man who deals with life in his own way…Very Viciously. He doesn’t love, He doesn’t do dates, He doesn’t do a lot of things… What he does do though is Emilia… He has tormented her from the very first day he saw her in high school.
Now 10 years later…have things changed now that Baron is older, more mature and now a lawyer? Has Emilia moved on after being sent away after graduation by none other than Baron himself?
This story will have you loving Vicious and hating him. Then finally understanding him and why he has been so Vicious over the years. What a story Vicious has to tell! It will keep you engrossed from the very first page till the last… Sometimes holding the book close to your heart and in the very next chapter, wanting to throw it as far away as possible.
This is Book 1 in the Sinners of Saint series. Standalone.
L.J. Shen has released some pretty awesome books in the past…. This one though, she has hit a home run, out of the park!! Love how much her writing has grown, this book right here is the best of her work to date.

“He was perfectly imperfect. Flawlessly flawed. Most importantly–he was Vicious.”
If I was as rich as Vicious, I would do some sky-writing, billboard advertising, post a teaser on the side of a bus or a taxi, throw a teaser up on a jumbotron and buy a Superbowl commercial to tell the world how amazing this book is. Oh, and did I mention that this is the first book I’ve ever read by L.J. Shen? Where the hell have I been? Well, I can tell you what I was doing all night long. I was devouring this book, cover to cover, unable to stop reading even knowing it was Christmas Eve and I had family coming for dinner and to open presents. I had soooo much I needed to be doing, but Vicious would not let me go. He’s real bossy like that.
#Vicious is a dark, demented, angry, vicious bossy beautiful broken bad boy that had me swearing and swooning. The story is told in dual POV, alternating from past to present. Gradually revealing the details of a mind-boggling story that held me hostage, preventing me from doing anything else until I had all of my questions answered and was able to breathe again. I went through a range of emotions. One minute I was raging and ranting, and the next I wondering and waiting. I hated, I hoped, I hated again, and then I hoped again. The present was filled with passion and purpose and the past was filled with pain. The secrets were unraveled gradually, pulling me further and further into the lives of the characters. Showing me more and more, making things clearer and darker and deeper.
It was amazing and thought provoking, staying with me long after the last word was read. I’m extremely excited to know that it’s a series, and there will be more to look forward to. There are at least three more stories to tell, at least I hope they will be told separately. I’d be totally on board for more than that. I might be a new fan of this author, but I’m committed. I will most definitely be on stalking duty as I wait for the next masterpiece to become available. The line forms here…
Wow, this was just one heck of a viciously hot read!
This book is full of witty fun and love and alpha men in the book. U we get a book hangover reading this book. Love all y
The plots though out the book.
This is a amazing love hate story that will have you playing hard game of back and forth. This is a very hot exciting read that will have you hooked from the very first page tell the ending. I loved this hot alpha male that shows the tough things that takes for the love throughout this story.
I am such a huge fan of bully romance and I have lost count of the no of bully books I have read. Vicious literally topped all of my lists of bully romance books.
I am absolutely in love with vicious and Emilia. Their chemistry was off the charts and they were absolutely entertaining. Vicious was so ruthless and hot, my god I absolutely loved him.
There were a few scenes that made me cry so hard, ohh god!!!
However, it was the ending that took my heart. you see in many books the female protagonist is a literal doormat and just forgives the hero for anything he does, which just irritates me to no end. But that was not the case in this book. Emilia made vicious work hard for his fuckups and that was absolutely entertaining and satisfying to read. Moreover, I would also like to applaud our hero for not giving up on our pink haired heroine. The scenes of there childhood were also very nice and my absolute favourite was the starting scene. I just couldn’t put down the book once I started reading and it was so worth it.
I have just lost count of how many times I have reread a few scenes…
Hats off to the author for such a great job
I thought that after reading Midnight Blue I was prepared for Vicious… WRONG!!!
Vicious wrecked me completely he played with my emotions so much and I didn’t know what to make about it.
I was torn between hating him and liking him because he was just so ugh so mean, the things he did, the way he acted toward Emilia jeez, he couldn’t be more mean could he?… And I liked him because he didn’t give a sh*t what other think about him and his attitude was what make him so appealing and so wrong to like…LOL
But then everything changes and BUM he makes you fall for him ,it’s impossible not to and I end up loving him so much that even after having read all the others hot-holes Vic is still my favourite.
“Be wise. Let your heart lead the way. And when you find someone who’s worth it— never let them go.”
ghrtrljlfhuruivri *flapping hands and screaming*
I know that (^) is complete gibberish but this how I feel after finishing Vicious. This book was everything that I wanted. Vicious, Emilia, the secret, the darkness, the light, the revelations… EVERYTHING!!!!!
This is my first L.J. Shen book and let me tell you if you haven’t picked up an L.J. Shen book but want to, pick this one up. You will not go wrong with Vicious. Shen has written a story with a hero that you will love to hate and hate to love. A set of friends you don’t know what to do with and a girl. An innocent girl that you can’t help but fall in love with.
This story is presented so beautifully and addictively, you can’t help but want more and more and more, until the last page is turned and even then you will hold out a hope that maybe, just maybe, Shen will write more about the couple (Which she will not, since their story has been told *sad panda*)
“My obsession. My muse. My enemy…
He was the storm to my cherry blossoms…
I was her black. And she was my pink…”
Baron Vicious Spencer lives up to his name and is indeed vicious. Calculating, smart, powerful, rich he wants for nothing except one. Emilia LeBlanc.
Emilia LeBlac is the complete opposite of Vicious. Sweet, beautiful, strong and fierce. She is the blend of all these things and make Emilia a beautiful person inside and out and gives her the ability to love with her heart.
“Ask me what I want,”
“What do you want?”
“I want you.”
“Just you. Nothing else. Only ever you. Fuck, Emilia. You.”
In the beginning, Vic and Millie had a hate/anger relationship and the hate and anger on Vicious parts grew into a whole new level when Millie started dating his best friend. Using his power and hate towards Millie he played his final move and succeeded in making Emilia leave her family.
The story is set ten years later after Vicious managed to make Emilia leave her parents and home in Todos Santos. They meet once again, but now Vicious wants Emilia to be part of his plan to get revenge on his father and his stepmother.
What I loved in the story was Shen taking us in the past at the right moments to fill in the gaps and make me understand Emilia, Vicious and their relationship. You see, Vicious has always had a thing for Emilia since he first met her at the library in the Spencer mansion. She intrigued him, got under his skin like no other and the only one who knew his secret.
Vicious was everything that I look in a Contemporary Romance. The push and pull between the two. The intensity, the chemistry, and the passion were perfect! Shen has done an absolutely fantastic job with this book and showing the characters at their most vulnerable and their strongest.
“Ask me what I want again,”
“What do you want?”
“Nothing. I’m done wanting things. I have everything I need now. Ask me how I feel.”
“How do you feel?”
“In love.”
“I feel in love, and it’s you that I love. So fucking much.”
The FEELS!!!! This book had so many feels, especially the last 7%. I can’t even begin to tell you how heavy my heart was with all the love and happiness I was feeling through Leigh’s words. And dammit Vicious. He is *sigh* broody, silent but when he loves, it is toe-curling! And Emilia is the perfect match to Vic in every sense. Like I had said before, the light to his dark, the quirky to his silent, the happy to his sadness… But more importantly the Pink to his Black.
They say third time is the charm, so I haven’t already picked up Vicious I highly recommend that you click that link in the comments and do it. STAT!

5 Stars!
I really enjoyed this book and I love a good enemies to lovers book. This book was that. It was the story of Vicious and Emilia. During this book, you get to see 10 years in the past as well as the present. You find out why Vicious is the way he is and why Emilia is very hesitant to let him back in her life. You want to hate him but once you really find out why he is the way he is, you can’t. There are so many emotions that you will feel when you read this book. You won’t want to put it down. I can’t wait to check out the other books in the series.
I received a free copy of this book via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review.
Vicious by L.J. Shen is book One in the Sinners of Saint series. This is the story of Emilia LeBlanc and Barron ‘Vicious’ Spencer. Vicious parents are rich and he gets most everything but what he really needed…love and kindness. This has turned him in to someone not to nice and when Emilia parents take a job working for his parents he starts to turn his attention to Emilia to pick on. Emilia has feelings for Vicious but she knows that is a mistake. When she can she moves away with her sister but it isn’t long before Vicious comes a calling.
If you like the hardcore harsh hero with alpha attitude with the strong innocent heroine than like me this is the book for you.
This was my very first LJ Book. I was hooked from the first page I love how you get Both Vicious and Emilia’s points of view. Their relationship is one of my favorites. So much so I’ve read this book 3 times over. Which doesn’t normally happen
One of my all time favorites!!!
Well written. Excelente plot. Unforgettable characters. A hero that is raw, real, unapologetic and so addictive that it is impossible not to go along with him in this ride. A wonderful heroine. I am hooked, I discovered a great author and a great series.
