She needs to save her clinic. He needs a second chance.A road trip might be just what the doctor ordered… former patients. Too bad her only mode of transportation just died. And when her charming ex—the man who stomped all over her heart—shows up offering to help, she’s not sure if her luck just got better or worse.
James has no doubt that Lady Luck has smiled on him. What are the odds that he’d show up to win back his college sweetheart at the exact moment she needs him most? He’s spent years regretting letting Juliet go, and he’ll do anything for another chance—even if it means chauffeuring her all over the Midwest.
As their road trip takes them across hundreds of miles, James and Juliet realize there’s really only one possible destination this time around. Either a happily ever after…or heartbreak.

Juliet had worked for everything she had. Her ex, James, was a wealthy spoiled brat, at least he was in her mind. She wanted nothing to do with him or his lavish lifestyle but when he showed up in town and offered her a ride when her car broke down, she had no choice but to accept.
She was a local veterinarian who wanted to save her clinic from closing and in order to do that she wanted to enter a video in a contest sponsored by a drug company showing some of the good that they could do and how a specific drug had been successful in treating so many pets. She needed James as a chauffeur to get to all these clients to video them.
During the time they spent together she began to see that maybe James wasn’t the spoiled rich kid she believed he was. Maybe there was more to him and what he wanted from life. But one thing after another would “interrupt” her favorable opinion. Was it possible for two seemingly opposites be good for each other?
This was a clean story with no sex or foul language, which I greatly appreciate. I was a little annoyed by Juliet’s attitude. She never really wanted to give James a chance and was always expecting the worse. That was a little tiresome, in my opinion.
I was given an arc copy of this book and I willingly offer my honest review.
Veterinarian Juliet McCarron works for a low cost clinic because of her passion for providing a way for poorer people to care for their pets. Funding has been cut for the clinic, so she enters a video contest promoting an anti-cancer drug that has been successfully used on animals for several years to earn a grant to keep the clinic open.
Juliet’s ex-boyfriend James Balin comes to Michigan for Thanksgiving at the same time she needs to be visiting the pets and their owners to videotape the clips for the video contest. James offers to drive her to her appointments when her car dies unexpectedly the night before Thanksgiving. Although she is hesitant to accept his help, she ends up with no choice.
I loved the realistically flawed but likable characters in this book. James with his continuing awkwardness in trying to win over Juliet’s affections, and his difficult relationship with his father. Juliet’s tendency to be harsh on James and quickly jumping to blame him for anything that goes wrong or even unexpectedly. Of course, his public proposal to her five years before should probably have been discussed long before this – both parties are at fault for not doing that. Juliet just ran away. James let her.
Veterinarian’s Date with a Billionaire is a sweet, clean second chance romance. I liked the characters although Juliet seems a bit too determined to hold a grudge. The characters are very realistically portrayed. and had great chemistry when Juliet allowed it. It was nice to see James persevere in his quest to win her back. I loved the ending.
