When did my life start resembling a Hallmark movie? I suppose it all started when my charming fiancé turned out to be anything but, and I decided I wanted to push the reset button on my life. So, I packed up my business and moved to a small town in the Texas Hill Country, complete with the cast of small-town characters you’d expect and the ridiculously sexy new veterinarian. Being the new kids … Being the new kids in town, Cal and I kept finding ourselves thrown togetherand even though men were the absolute last thing on my mind… one thing led to another.
Now someone’s threatening my business, but I’m not the same woman I was when I arrived. And I’m ready to fight for what’s mine.

Entertaining story with wonderful characters!
Loved this book. So original. It was romantic, funny, dangerous, sweet. I never knew what to expect. I expected a small town romance, but it was a comedy, a mystery, plus a romance. I need to find more of her books.
Moutain man falls for Amazon. I liked that the characters weren’t typical. I liked the hook and pacing. I hated the plot. The mystery that really wasn’t. The fact that the characters were stupid enough to not take any precautions. How hard is it to change a lock and buy a motion activated camera and light. Hell, buy a gun it’s Texas for goodness sake. Something to show me you fear for your life.
A fun read!
Docia Kent moved to Konigsburg, Texas to get a fresh start. After her ex-fiancee truly revealed what he was all about, she dumped him and moved away. Now she owns a bookstore which she loves but the town of Konigsburg is still not as welcoming as she would hope after being there for so long and she has made an enemy with town busybody who wants her gone.
Cal Toleffson moved to town to partner in a veterinary business. Cal wasn’t looking for love but the moment he sees Docia he is hooked. She is everything a woman should be but what happens when it appears someone is out to get Docia and old triggers for Docia arise? Can she trust Cal or is he not everything that he appears to be?
Loved this, the town is small town and full of characters. The animal sidekicks are wonderful and compliment the story. This is one of these books you pick up and have a smile on your face throughout. Definitely checking out more in this series.
A well-written and enjoyable story with some good characterisation and interesting plot twists. I did feel the male protagonist was a little one-dimensional and predictable, which is why this wasn’t a five star read for me.
fun read.
Just really liked this story and the characters . I could relate to small town wanna be’s!!!@
Can’t wait to read the rest of the series!
This is a better story than ‘tall story ‘ with jane fonda and Tony Perkins. Better story better main characters including Pep, the st. Bernard, bloodhound and dachshund traits rolled into one small, big hearted package.
A easy book to read and I looked forward to read to the finish. Great book, yes, a great book.
Docia is one funny person and her parents were a hoot too.
Loved the book and have read 3 more in the series. Great characters.
enjoyable

Loved it!
Loved it. Bought the next two immediately to read and enjoyed them just as much!
Enjoyable but sometimes too much thinking by a character.
Easy to read
