This book is HOT. Kamal and Aleina have this connection that just left me wanting more. Venomous Hunger is a bundle of SciFi goodness that combines the lure of the genre with the beauty of romance quite well.
Could not wait to get to this story and it did not disappoint. Absolutely loved it. Aliena and Kamal are a great couple. The had so much chemistry and heat. I can’t wait for the next book in the series.
This was a great story of human perseverance and determination. What I liked best is that while it is a story of humanity’s resourcefulness when it comes to surviving, it acknowledges the dark sides of humanity as well. Though there are always people who value every life and will do whatever they must for the good of everyone, there will always be those who are selfish, cruel, and power-hungry. There will always be those among the oppressed who participate in the oppression of their own people.
Aliena’s biggest strength and biggest weakness is that she rarely sees things in anything other than black and white. She’s not great at strategizing, analyzing, or looking at the big picture, which is something that usually ends in disaster. But this trait also means that she leaves no one behind, even if it means risking everyone she cares about. Lucky for her, she’s got the strongest warrior around and his two awesome best friends to back her. And lucky for her, this warrior, viewing himself as disgraced and unworthy of her, is willing to do anything to redeem himself enough in his eyes to be a suitable partner for Aliena.
This story keeps the reader on edge, as a solution, as freedom, always seems to be in sight. But just when the characters think they can take a breath, another round of chaos, turmoil, and complications come flying at them. Just as everything is within their grasp, all is lost. But human creativity and warrior fighting skills combine to continue to fight through these challenges.
The only weak aspect to the characters is that the two main villains are purely villains with little character development beyond being disgusting. The third party who works with them, however, showed a bit more character development largely due to strict cultural values and ideals this species which are unique to this particular species.
Venomous Hunger is the second book in the Eok Warriors series, but it can be read as a standalone. I would recommend you do read book one first, but only because you’d be missing on a great story if you don’t.
Aliena was one of the free humans living on earth, but became very sick. So when the Eoks arrived on earth, one of inhabitants of their village placed her where they knew she would be found, in the hope of getting her the medicines she needed. Kamal has been a pirate for ten years, ever since he left the Eok nation in disgrace for an action he would do again without hesitation. Working together to rescue the humans, these two face danger and betrayal.
Once again, this is an exceedingly well written story, with plenty of action, both in and out of the bedroom. A different cast of characters this time, with only a few mentioned from book one, they are nevertheless well thought out and fully rounded. There were no editing or grammatical errors that disrupted my reading flow, and I was thoroughly engrossed with the story.
An excellent addition to the series, and I look forward to reading more. Absolutely recommended by me.
* A copy of this book was provided to me with no requirements for a review. I voluntarily read this book, and the comments here are my honest opinion. *

Archaeolibrarian – I Dig Good Books!
Yes, this is the 2nd book in this series, I did not read the first one but I didn’t feel like I was missing anything for this story. I am sure that if I read the first one I will be oh yea and oh that. But this book is great all on its own.
Kamal and Aliena are in all senses enemies. Kamal the alien has saved Aliena (human) from dying and she is not taking to it lightly. But Kamal knew he had no choice as the pull to her is too great.
Aliena wants nothing to do with Kamal or any alien, she wants to save the human race from them. But when Kamal protects her in an unusual way, she has no other choice but to follow him and to learn to trust.
Mary Auclair has become another of my go-to Syfy authors. I really enjoyed this story and I couldn’t put it down!
This is a new author to me and I will be reading more from her. Aliena is the last of the “free” humans and Kamal is an Eok Warrior. After her escape attempt and recapture Kamal decides to help Aliena attempt to rescue her uncle, the man who is the leader of the free humans. Kamal isn’t just helping Aliena because he wants to, it’s like a compulsion to help your Bloodmate and that’s exactly what Aliena is to Kamal.
Action-packed story that leaves me wanting more. I can’t wait for the next book in this series.
I was lucky enough to receive an Arc of this book and absolutely loved it as much as I did the first in this series. It picked up where the first book had left off and I was so excited to learn and discover Kamal and Aliena’s story. Mary is an amazing writer and story teller. I was completely sucked in and fell in love with the characters. Kamal is a fierce Eok warrior and we learn that Aliena is a pretty hard core human! Trying to save the humans, dealing with some evil characters and Kamal finding his blood mate with Aliena! Their romance was definitely hot and steamy! I honestly couldn’t stop reading and was sad when I had finished!
A very quick yet highly entertaining romantic adventure filled with danger, excitement, emotional thrills and chills as well as an undeniable passion.
Kamal is a sexy, strong and deadly Eok warrior turned outlaw on a mission to find the escaped humans. Aliena wakes up under the care of alien pirates and is lucky enough to escape only to be in the fight of her life to save her family. Paige turner from beginning to end.
