-Tinks-From the moment I befriended him, I set a conspiracy in motion.A revolution.Kill Peter Pan.And I was their ultimate weapon.I was also none the wiser, falling hopelessly and irrevocably in love with him as the years went by.Just as they hoped I would. But their plan comes to a screeching halt when Peter vanishes into thin air, something I’ll learn has nothing to do with Rosewood at all.You … to do with Rosewood at all.
You see, Peter never truly loved me…because he loved a wench instead.
He lied to me, he used me, he left me, and he broke me.
Forever altering me in ways that incite revenge when Hook sweeps in with revelations and the ultimate truth.
Peter may have turned his back on me, but in the end, he and his precious little Wendy will choke on every last tear I once shed.
And I’ll have Hook to thank for that.
-Hook-
It’s no secret I always despised Peter Pan.
A common threat amongst the factions, I should’ve killed him when I had the chance, long before he sank his claws deep into Tinksley’s heart.
But his death at my hands wasn’t what the plan called for, despite how I felt for her.
I’d always been drawn to the girl, innocently enough at first…until that vile abomination marked her with his stamp, unleashing a sense of propriety I had no rights to.
Didn’t matter—he had her…and I wanted her.
Then like magic, he disappeared.
I thought my time had come, but the road to owning Tinksley’s heart comes with a price.
A price so dark and depraved it strips her of her purity and awakens the beast within.
All because of the truth.
Sometimes, there is honor in revenge, and it will be my utmost pleasure to watch as Peter Pan finally meets his maker.
His maker who will soon be my Queen.

I’ve not read many retellings but this one felt so incredibly original, I really enjoyed it. Be prepared to throw everything you think you know about Pan out the window, and hold on tight for a deliciously dark and steamy twisty ride.
This book – WOW!!! I will never view Peter Pan and Hook the same way again. The way this author took an old classic and twisted and made it dirty and steamy was AMAZING!! I will forever be changed by this story!!
I get ALL THE EMOTIONS!’ The descriptions, the characters, the overall theme was freaking amazing and enthralling!! I have fallen in love with Dee Garcia after this dark, dirty retelling!!!
To tell you much detail about this story would ruin it!! Tap into your dark and dirty side and read this book today!’ You won’t regret it AT ALL!!
Wow! When this series was announced, there was very little of each novel detailed. With this book, I didn’t even know anything about what the story entailed until i began reading. This allowed me to go in completely blind; which enhanced my reading experience.
VENOM is a retelling of the Peter Pan tale and was thoroughly addictive, intriguing and utterly fascinating!!! The PNR aspect of it all was EVERYTHING! The many factions of the fae world was exhilarating.
The chemistry between Hook and Tink was incredibly strong and the whole story behind Tink and Peter…jaw dropping – purely shocking
It was sexy with an air of the fairytale I remember as a young girl. This book was the perfect blend of my reading preferences of then AND now!
Venom is a sinister retelling of Peter Pan, Tink, and Hook. Tinksley the fae who wears her heart on her sleeve. Peter Pan the boy who stole her heart. Hook who wants to own her heart. The story of these three captured me immediately. Love, heartbreak, and vengeance is the name of the game. Secrets that many has kept to ensure the supernatural world is safe. The story was unpredictable and wickedly captivating. I enjoyed every minute. This was definitely a five star read and can’t wait to see what the other sinister fairy tales holds. For the first book in the collection, Dee Garcia set the bar high with this one.
HOLY SMOKE!!! This book is everything and more. I’m gonna be honest I didn’t know how I was going to feel about this story. I am a HUGE Disney fan, and thought I would have a hard time reading this. I was absolutely wrong in thinking that since I love my stories that are dark and twisty… Venom is almost as twisty as they come!!!!
Tinksley started off a naive young pouty woman. I’m not gonna lie I did not want to like her. However, I fell in love with the woman she becomes. She is a young naive beautiful soul in the beginning, but turns into a kick a$$ woman who rights the wrong that was made against her. Captain is just as dastardly as you would think. BUT there is so much more to this man. He is a tortured soul that was lost until he found the other half of his soul. The two of them together is a nice spicy slow burn.
The way Dee Garcia wrote this story will have you on the edge of your seat. I was captivated from beginning to end. The storyline is fast paced, and will keep you intrigued.
Darkly tantalising
I did really enjoy this opening to the Sinister Fairytales collection and has me intrigued for what’s coming next.
What started out as a relatively light story quickly turned darker and darker until it had me reeling with revelations, twists and turns. To say I’m not a little in love with Callan would be a lie
It took me a while to warm up to Tinksley, but I felt she really came into her own towards the end of the book. The slow burn almost killed me at points but boy were those steamy scenes hot.
My main issue with this book was the odd moments where the fourth wall was broken which dragged me out of the story. I’m not a big fan of this so it could just be me, but I definitely recommend this book to dark romance lovers and those who enjoy a good paranormal twist.
I never thought I’d so thoroughly enjoy seeing this whole other side of the Peter Pan tale! It was dark and compelling, with Tink and Hook getting their own version put into words. It sucked me right in, getting to see how Peter Pan spurned Tinksley, and how it helped create a whole new pixie we never knew existed! Loved Hook’s side as well – the plotting, the anger, the thirst for revenge, all of it was amazing!
ℂ ’ ℝ:
/ – OMG! Venom and the realm of Rosewood blew me away! Venom is a dark and twisted retelling of Tinkerbell, Peter Pan, & the infamous Captain Hook BUT this time around, the good guys aren’t such good guys, and the bad guys are even badder!
– Although a bit of a slow burn between the Captain and Tinksley, when they do catch fire they burnnnn!!! HOLY SHIT YA’LL, that table scene… SHEESH!
ℂ : Nope, no cliffhanger. Hook and Tink’s story wrapped up beautifully BUTTTT this is only the beginning of the interconnected Sinister Fairy Tales Collection so there was most definitely some intrigue and mystery left to still be discovered in the next book, Cold Queen!
Can I keep you, Tinksley? As my finest treasure?
Venom by Dee Garcia is the first standalone in a series of interconnected standalone from the Sinister Fairy Tale Collections! Venom is a dark and twisted retelling of Tinkerbell, Peter Pan, & the infamous Captain Hook BUT this time around, the good guys aren’t such good guys, and the bad guys are even badder! I’m not a huge PNR reader but once I saw that there were quite a few lovely ladies that I ALWAYS one-click, I knew this was a series that I couldn’t pass up!
In Venom we aren’t in Neverland, no. We are in Rosewood with Captain ‘Callum’ Hook, Tinksley, and Peter Pan.
Welcome to the mythical, magical realm of Rosewood!
Forgive me, Tinksley. When it’s all said and done, please forgive me. It was the only way.
Captain ‘Callum’ Hook, my oh my this was a totally different Captain Hook then we have all met in the past. For starters, he doesn’t actually have a hook, BUT he IS a vampire pirate! Crazy, I know right?! But trust me, it all makes sense and you are going to LOVE it! Captain Callum has left his pirating ways and now runs Rosewood.
Where she’s purity and light, I’m maleficence and darkness.
Tinksley Bell is a beautiful young half-ling. A.K.A a fairy and a fae had a baby and that baby is Tinksley! She is the definition of innocence BUT, Tinksley isn’t as “innocent” as everyone thinks she is. She’s sassy, impulsive, and completely reckless and she is SICK of everyone treating her like a child. So in her quest to rebel, she slowly but surely falls for Peter Pan…
I really am that broken now. As mangled as he left my heart.
But Peter isn’t the guy that Tinksley thinks he is. It’s a mystery to everyone as to how Peter ended up in Rosewood, to begin with, and while the rest of the community keeps their distance, Tink continues to fall for his smooth lines and charming boyish features. Completely blinding her to Hook’s feelings for her.
But with a greater plan at play, Hook has to sit back, wait, and watch while Peter breaks poor Tinksley’s heart. But then he will get his chance to help Tinksley put her pieces back together… only BETTER than ever before. Hook has had feelings for Tinksley for a very long time but with Peter holding her captivated she didn’t SEE him the way he has ALWAYS seen her.
He had her… and I wanted her. And it’s been that way ever since.
But sooner rather than later… Hook will finally get his chance.
I’m not above taking, shamelessly so. Have stolen many a treasure over the years. Trust me when I say I know what valuable looks like. And that’s exactly what Tinksley is: the most valuable treasure of them all.
Mystery, betrayal, secrets, lies, lust, and love, top that with some mythical creatures and a dark twist on a childhood favorite, and you have the phenomenon that is VENOM! This isn’t the Disney Peter Pan that we all know and love, ohhhh noooo! This is the dark ADULT version of the childhood favorite. Just be ready, because this is as far from the original story as you can get. All the same characters are here but the story its self and the persona of the characters are COMPLETELY different! Absolutely unique and original, and unlike anything I’ve ever read before.
Tinksley is my time. And time is precious.
In Act One, I wasn’t sure how I felt about Tinksley. She wasn’t my favorite character, unfortunately. In Act Two I started feeling a bit different, she went through sooo much and my heart was breaking for her. In Act Three, HOLY SHIT! Tinksley went from cute and innocent to completely FIERCE and I loved watching her transformation throughout the book.
Show me, Hook. I want to see your little wonderland of debauchery.
Hook, GAHHH! What is there not to love about Callum Hook?!?! He was a brooding, intense, badass vampire. Both feared and adored by his subjects. Who held a soft spot in his heart only for Tinksley. He was fiercely protective of her and although he ALWAYS wanted to claim her, he knew that she needed to figure things out by herself before he could swoop in and make her finally SEE him.
I’ve corrupted that little pixie with a singular swipe of my tongue.
The mysterious, forever young and adorable Peter Pan we all know and love is GONE! In his place is a vile boy who uses lies to get his way and hurt the one person who has always loved and been there for him.
Honestly, if I could have changed ANYTHING, it would have been that we would have gotten more time with Tink and Callum together as a couple. Most of the book was Tink heartbroken and then fighting her feelings for Hook and turning him down even though he had been nothing but good to her throughout. But, once they FINALLY got on the same page this book was ON FIRE! I mean that table scene… SHEW! I know I was blushing even reading it, and I read DIRTYYYY books! I would have LOVED to see what other trouble these two could have gotten up to together…
I want to devour her, consume her, possess her, fucking own her.
The WOW moment… the whole catalyst for what was going to “trigger” Tinksley… I’m rarely ever completely surprised but HOLY SHIT I NEVER saw that coming!
The secondary/supporting characters were all VERY interesting and there were definitely a few that had me very intrigued. Mostly from Captain Hook’s crew, you’ll see why once you read Venom but I am very excited to read their stories!
I absolutely adore Dee Garcia and have LOVED everything she has written so I was sooo excited to see how her first attempt at PNR turned out. THE GIRL KILLED IT!!! I was blown away and she did it WITHOUT completely changing up HER style of writing, which I was extremely happy to see. The way she describes and sets scenes with her words, the way she crafts a visual picture in your mind… I can’t even put it into words. Absolutely amazing author. Garcia has set the bar pretty damn high with Venom being the start of this interconnected Sinister Fairy Tales Collection. If it is any indication of what’s to come then I can’t wait to see what the rest of these amazing authors have in store for us as they retell these classic fairytales but with a dark twist and their own unique styles.
If you are a fan of the dark and twisted, and also love those old fairytales then you NEED to check out Venom! This is not one to be missed for sure! HIGHLY, HIGHLY RECOMMEND!
Then start counting on forever, Tinksley Bell, because you’re my greatest treasure and there’s not a single thing within any realm on this earth that could make me let you go.
.
In the beginning of my review I must confess something. “Peter Pan” wasn’t definitely my favourite fairy tale. Cause Peter was really boring character. But Captain Hook that was totally different case cause I always had thing for baddies. So when I’ve read that there will be series of dark fairy tales retelling I knew that I had to know definitely more interesting version of this story.
And how much was I right cause “Venom” written by Dee Garcia was that view of whole “Peter Pan” story that I needed. That was my version of this story. What’s really good about it is that it’s definitely different from the original, it has got some supernatural vibe but I definitely like it more.
But I have a fair warning and advantage at the same time:this is not a typical retelling. It’s all because we have here a deliciously dark, twisted and sinister retelling and not so many facts from the original story. There is of course a Peter Pan and a Tinkerbell and a Captain Hook in here, but they aren’t as you are remembering from your childhood, definitely not.
Here you will hate Peter Pan and fall in love in Hook, it’s definitely bad boys time.
There is some secret plan, Pan is basically a villain, Tink become a badass (finally) and Hook is devilishly hot. And I cannot say here more. Believe when I say you just have to read this book asap.
It’s a dark, twisted and fascinating in a weird way retelling that you may enter at your own risk but believe me when I say it’s definitely worth it. And now I am waiting impatiently for the next book in the bunch.
Venom was wow something else for sure! I never expected how it was going to go the story of Peterpan with tink and Hook.. I have always loved Hook in the book and in the movie so through it all I was rooting for Hook. I am not a huge reade on PNR but this had me wow. The twists on the story makes me look at peter pan differently now. If I can give more than 5 stars I so would. Cant wait to read more for sure.
Omg this was my first book by Dee, and it won’t be the last. I absolutely love a good paranormal read and this retelling of Tink, Hook and Peter Pan’s story was absolutely phenomenal. I absolutely love Tink & Hook and when they are together they are explosive. This book had a twist that I don’t see coming. I love that the villain turns into a hero and the good guy is the villain. Truly and amazing trust that everyone must one click. This book will definitely give you all the feels and I’m so glad that there will be another book coming.
Damn……. This book was so good! What a great retelling!! Such a unique twist. I couldn’t put this book down. Man oh man do I wish I had my own Hook! I highly recommend reading this book. I can not wait to see where the collaboration goes next! Also, will be impatiently waiting for book 2.
Wow what a amazing dark fairytale story about Hook. And wow i have no words for this story then it was amazing read that is full of angsty addicted that will have you needing more of this story. This is a book that Dee has out done herself on this read. Ive read most of Dees book and I’m loving this the most so far. If you need a fairytale that is dark and steamy.
This book is the perfect example of why I absolutely love Dee Garcia! She has a way of writing that makes me read things I would not normally read. I am not a fan at all of PRN/Fantasy or anything of that nature. However, when Garcia writes it I just can’t put it down.
I absolutely could not pass up the chance to read this collection. I love fairytales and couldn’t wait to see the spin these authors put on them to make each one their own and sinister. Fairytales with a dark twist, what’s not to love?
Venom is the sinister twist on Peter Pan. Tinkley and Callan are everything! I could not put this book down. From start to finish Garcia had me hooked. I could have cared less about any fantasy part of this book while reading, it all took a backseat to the actual plot.
Venom was the perfect start to this collection of books. She sucks you in and never lets you go. If the other books in the series are half as good as Venom this could be one of the best collections I have ever read. After Venom I cannot wait to see what the other authors will give us!
Holy Hell!! What a fricking dark ride through a fantastic retelling of one of my favorite fairy tales.
Venom is dark, alluring, fascinating, and heart capturing. Tinksly and Hook are phenomenal. They each were written to utter perfection.
I’m so in love! Its soo good!! Its an amazing start to what I know is going to be an amazing collection!
Mind blown!!! This book is nothing like I have ever read before and is just phenomenal! This fairy tale turned into a sinister fairy tale retelling is absolutely everything! Tinksley is a bad*** b****, I will never look at this character the same. What started out one way turned into something dark, insanely steamy, and an undulterated mind f***. Hook might just be my new favorite. He is portrayed as a villain but there’s much more to him than what you could ever imagine. And he’s crazy hot, like to die for! I never thought I could swoon so hard over this character, like it never crossed my mind but here we are! I am so invested in this story that I can’t stop thinking about it. That ending left me gasping. I did not expect that and I most certainly revelled in it. I need more and may just go mad in hopes of it!
*New to me author
Oh, my freaking god.
So I went into this story not knowing what I was getting into. All I knew was that I wanted to read this new collection that is coming out from a group of authors that I love. I had never read Dee, but I was jumping in with both feet. This collection is a retelling of fairytales- which, if you are like me, I have tried before with a mix of emotions.
Venom is NOTHING of what you think it is. And I am not giving it away. All I am going to say is Jesus, what a beginning to the collection. I could not and would not put this book down. And a word for the wise, not only will I own this story in ebook, but I will be a paperback owner as well!! What an ingenious story!!!
This is a twisty, full of mystery, intrigue and lust retelling of Peter Pan. The good guys are no longer good whilst the bad guys are definitely dangerous.
I loved this tale of Tinksley and Callan/Hook, which is surprisingly slow burn but still manages to feel very hot and steamy too. There are some dark elements and some moments of deep despair and bitter betrayal. By getting both Hook and Tinksley’s first person point of view, I found it easy to understand and forgive – particularly Hook with his ulterior motives wrapped around genuine deep feelings for Tink.
Normally I’m not a fan of a book that hinges on a ‘big secret’ that isn’t revealed until near the end of the book. However Dee Garcia executed this one perfectly by giving us plenty of other action, intrigue and romance throughout the story. The plot and pace easily, totally and utterly, held my attention. I couldn’t read it quickly enough, yet wanted to savour every single moment of the story too.
Highly recommend this book and am hoping the rest of the series lives up to this fantastic start.
Mind Blown!
When I found out that there was gonna be a series based on fairytales with a twist I knew I had to sing up. I don’t really read PNR but this one is just wow! It literally blew my mind away. It’s angst, dark, very intense and so sizzling with chemistry.
This book is Peter Pan with a twist, a very dark twist that you won’t expect at all. If you love the original Disney version you might actually love this version, specially if you love dark twisted and the paranormal.
Dee is a new author to me and she’s just landed herself a new fan.
Venom was a captivating retelling of Peter Pan that hooked me right from the start. I loved how this author put such a unique spin on this story that I saw Hook in a way I hadn’t before and couldn’t help but fall for his devilish charm. Tinksley was such a entertaining spitfire and I was fascinated to watch as these two danced around each other. Let’s not even mention how much I loved when Tinksley came into her own and did so like a boss. I couldn’t get enough of the touches of darkness and intriguing twists throughout this book that kept me fully engaged and devouring their story as quickly as I could. I can’t wait to see how Wendy’s story will unfold next.
