Vampires are a pain in Alf’s neck. After hosting a diabolical vampire wedding last Halloween, Alf had imagined that Whittle Inn had seen the last of those long-toothed monsters. She’d pointedly barred them from ever setting foot or fang in her part of the English countryside again. But since then, one thing has continued to bother our favourite wonkiest witch.Who killed the handsome young vampire … the handsome young vampire Thaddeus? And why?
Now Alf will have to grit her teeth. Despite her protestations, her undead foes are breathing down her neck once more and threatening to make an unwelcome return to her wonky inn. Is anyone safe? How long before another one of their number bites the dust?
Given their previous escapades, Alf and her friends are keen to provide a sharp reality check. Alf heads off to Transylvania to make things right, but will the evil Count Grigor and his coven of fiends have the last laugh? Is Alf a match for these bite-young things?

This is the darkest of the Wonky Inn books, and also one of the best. A trip to a vampire castle to try and stop a vampire-witch war ends up with Alf doing her best Mission Impossible moves to save the day!
Full of Alf’s dry wit, tense situations, and a will they, won’t they love story, this is a fantastic addition to the series. I hope there’ll be more Wonky Inn books in the future!
Vengeful Vampire at Wonky Inn: Wonky Inn Book 8 by Jeannie Wycherley is a wonderful story to read. This is book number eight in this wonderful series that I loved reading. I highly recommend this story to everyone who loves reading about vampires, cozy mysteries, fantasy and paranormal romances.

5 stars for the author, just gave it a 4 star for this particular book, as I am not really into vampires, but I love the series and read it through so I had the background for the next book in the series. Start from #1 and read….Fast, easy and often unable to put down!
A light read with enough mystery to finish reading it
I loved this story in the Wonky Inn series! It was full of excitement, wit, intrigue, and a dose of love thrown in. This has been an enjoyable and entertaining series! I hope to see more adventures for Alf & Silvan and the rest of the Wonky Inn characters and spirit crew!
Such a great book in the series showing tremendous character growth by Alf who is both amazingly strong and wonderfully wonky – in the very best way.
Seriously intense! There’s anger, fear, hatred, betrayal, adrenaline, love, friendship, a waterfall of feelings, emotions….so strong that I actually felt them so deeply myself that I was in tears by the end of the book! Jeannie Wycherley, you have outdone yourself! I have fallen in love with these characters and cannot wait for more.

Vengeful Vampire at Wonky Inn is a very entertaining cozy paranormal mystery.
Vampire problems at the Wonky Inn. What do those bloodsuckers want now?
This is the latest book in the series (sorry, I have lost track of numbers). Each book works very well as a standalone. This one will have a bit more references to events past than normal, but all the critical stuff is spelled out pretty quickly. But beware, as the series is highly addictive and you will soon want to read the rest of them.
I have loved the Wonky Inn from the first book I read and that hasn’t changed. As usual, the story is very well written and filled with fun and interesting characters. The characters are diverse and colorful, some helpful and some not so much.
The book couples a mystery with a good sense of humor that keeps things from getting too intense. But don’t be fooled as it is a good mystery with plenty of twists and turns to keep the reader guessing. The overall experience is one of delighted fascination, an excellent weekend entertainment. As always, I am left looking forward to the next wonky adventure.

Remember the weird wedding? If not, come back after you have read Book 3 (I will wait}. This family-friendly binding up of loose ends takes about six hours.

Alf has gone through a lot since she reopened the Wonky Inn, but the unsolved murder of a vampire a year ago just won’t go away. She is forced into a situation where she cannot depend on the help of anyone but herself to stay alive, and proves to herself that she is capable of much more than she thought. This is the most intense book in the series thus far, and it certainly kept my attention right up until the end, when I could finally breathe again. We also learn something new about Alf’s great grandmother, Gwyn.

Alf has made her Whittle Inn the last place a vampire would stay at since hosting a vampire wedding last Halloween. She has virtually banned them from coming to her English countryside inn and wants no part of whatever they are up to. However, with the murder of young vampire Thaddeus and questions arising as to why Alf’s inn is set to host an unwelcome return of these long-toothed monsters. What has she gotten herself into? Can the mystery be solved or will another vampire bite the dust?
This is another wacky and wonderful mystery in the series filled with paranormal beings, humorous situations, madcap adventure, and a spellbinding mystery to solve.

Alf is having bat problems at the Wonky Inn. It seems the vampire who was killed at her inn a year ago was the son of a Transylvanian vampire prince who wants revenge. Alf goes to the prince’s castle on a diplomatic mission but the witch ambassador doesn’t seem too trustworthy. She finds unexpected allies and works to solve the mystery of who really killed the prince’s son. Alf becomes more self sufficient in this story and has to rely on herself and spends some quality time with Silvan. I received an advance copy of this book and voluntarily left a review.
Alf seems to enjoy training with Sylvan, although the training seems more fun than useful. Another missile from Sebastien brings warnings of trouble brewing. This is one warning Alf does not avoid at the insistence of her grandmother.
Clusters of bats seem to be lurking around the Inn. Kat and Marcus arrive, insisting they were invited by Alf.
Sylvan disappears for work, and her guests to safety elsewhere, encouraged by Alf.
Danger is about, and a better understanding for Alf of herself, her feelings, and her grandmother- if Alf can survive the challenges ahead.
The Inn may be wonky, but the truest of her friends and allies stay as loyal as they can, as long as Alf allows them near.
An excellent series of challenges and tests of faith. A powerful KU read!
I have read most of the books in this series on Kindle and Kindle Unlimited. I received an advance copy of this book from Booksprout, and I read this book on Kindle Unlimited.
I am a big fan. I hope Alf finds many adventures ahead, and has more luck with romance than she sometimes has had in the past.
Another fun, laugh out loud, action packed and engaging adventure with our friends at the Wonkiest Inn ever! Really enjoyed this highly entertaining journey from beginning to end and was so thrilling all the way through. Excellent reading!
Wonky Inn is an amusing series that is really fun to read. This vengeful vampire story is still fun even if a bit more serious. Alf is a wonderful character and this compelling story is amazingly clean and still fun to read!

Wonky Inn owner Alfhilde (Alf) closes her Inn at wizard Shadowmender’s request. Vampire bats are circling the Inn, trying to find a way in. Alf is sent on a mission to the Vampire’s castle where she is essentially a prisoner. Will she find a way to escape? Also loving the development between her and Silvan. Best read if other books in the series have been read.

In this book, Alf is plagued by a warning from a vampire to empty her Inn and leave. She emptied the Inn but stayed. Her Great-great grandma, her owl and her fought off a lot of bats around the Inn. Then she was summoned to Transylvania to see the father of the vampire killed at her Inn the year before. He is a Prince and wants answers. Once she gets there, everything goes wonky! Accused of murder and sentenced to death…she has to find a way out for her and Silvan. Can she do it? Can she get help? What will happen if and when she escapes? Tune in to Book 8 of the series to answer these questions and more! I received this book via Booksprout and am leaving a voluntary review.
Alf was practicing her magic for conjuring djinns and it didn’t go very well. Silvan, a master of the dark arts, eliminated whatever she had actually created with her wand that ran off. He asked her what she wanted, and she simply replied, “To be happy.” She had formed so many friendships since she took over the inn, such as her hotel manager Charity, Millicent her nearest witchy neighbor, Vance the Ent who lived in Speckled Wood, Mara the emotional witch and her faery changeling, Harys. She also liked Finbarr and his annoying band of pixies and couldn’t imagine life without any of them. She got the chance to work with brilliant witches and wizards, such as Wizard Shadowmender, Mr Kephisto, and Penelope Quigwell. And she had connected with deceased members of her family, namely my father Erik and great-grandmother Alfhild Gwynfyre Daemonne (or Gwyn). They were all important to her. She asked what mattered to Silvan, but he would only admit to wanting to make money.
Going through the mail, Alf paused at the red ink on fine quality stained parchment; the address written out in long hand, in a neat cursive handwriting. It had to be from Sabien Laurent, an old French vampire who had arranged a wedding for his hideous playboy son at Whittle Inn a year ago. No more vampires allowed at the inn anymore! But Sabien kept writing and she kept burning the unopened letters. This time, Mr. Hoo flew off his perch and blocked her from tossing the letter into the fire. He wanted her to read it. It said that she and the inn were in danger and she should seek safety with Wizard Shadowmender. What was this about?
With trouble coming to the Wonky Inn, Alf goes to Transylvania to try to fix things, but it doesn’t work out well. Prince Grigor Corinthian of Wallachia blames her for the murder of his son at her inn. He finds her guilty and sentences her to death! Will she have anyone to look to for help? Can she escape? Will harm — or worse, death — come to her?
This was a tense story, not knowing who Alf can trust as she goes off to face her enemies! Grab your copy and follow the excitement as she tries to make peace with the vampires.
