Ms. Feehan writes wonderful books, with action and love.
The first few chapters I didn’t care for but as the story went on the characters connected in an intimate way, far beyond Ice’s “sexual proclivities”. Don’t get me wrong there is some sex, but the actual story, the character growth and the justice meted out sells the story.
Love getting together with the Torpedo Ink gang and learning more about each. I look forward to the next story. And I think I’m the most fascinated by Absinthe.
6 stars. Awesome book
This series just keeps getting better. Christine Feehan has made an original series, with well defined characters and story lines that you can not stop thinking about. This third book in the series is about Ice and Soleil. As a member of Torpedo ink Ice is a part of not only an MC but a family. All of the members have known each other since childhood and have survived the most evil things that could be done to children. Although he survived along with the others of the MC he knows they will never blend in with society. He has been turned into a killer and he is very good at what he does. Sometimes he gets caught up in his own head and relies on his ‘family’ That is his life, until the other half of his soul walk into a bar. Soleil is in trouble and needs help, she now has the most amazing man ready to do anything for her. Her family is dead, and the only other person she had was murdered. Amazing story about love, family, passion, devotion, and the on going fight for justice, Torpedo Ink style. I love all the characters and the story lines are pretty hard core, but a great series with such in-depth characters, its hard to put down.
I have read every books she has printed.love allher books.i love this new series.
Once again the boys of Torpedo Ink are out to save the underdog. Ice has found his woman and must save her and many others from a ring of con men bent on their destruction. Finding leads to the pedophile ring from past books. Christine continues to bring adult romance and adventure to the series, I can hardly wait to see who is up next.
Love Hate Relationship with this release
I was so excited for this release – This series has been solid to date
A bit disappointed
The story line idea was a solid five
The follow-through – wasn’t there
Soleil was a bit of a hot mess
She was trapped in a bad relationship. Drowning in self-loathing and reeling from the recent loss of one of her only friends.
This was a girl who once lived for the next adrenaline high and could party till dawn.
Now she is but a former shell of her self emotionally tired and physically hurt.
It only takes a serendipitous encounter for the blinders to be shifted. To truly see the woman in the mirror, the one she once was. Time to take back her life.
Ice had never had such a visceral reaction like he experienced when he spotted the girl in the sundress
She took away all his self-control, all his training and unknowingly brought him to his knees.
Two opposites
One driving desire
To be accepted
I actually had to skim about 75% of the “hands-on” moments.
I’m not going to call them romantic encounters, or any similar such phrase because they weren’t!
What happened?
I have always enjoyed the sexual edge in Feehan’s writing but it also usually came with an emotional connection between the characters
Even if it was an instant attraction, soul mates, or the like.
The first 30% was nothing but mindless sex that had no connection.
Eventually, the story began to take shape and I would become invested only to experience the occasional setback. I barely felt any connection with the two main characters.
I understand the building required for a series and this is one I have truly enjoyed up until now.
WHY?
I am not abandoning this series – I enjoy the cast too much and am invested in their future. I just hope that the next we get a story.
Vendetta Road is book 3 of Christine Feehan’s Torpedo Ink series. While on a club mission, Isaak “Ice” Koval sees a woman who stops him dead in his tracks. Soleil is a sweet, sexy girl-next-door type, an innocent who should be nowhere near the rough-and ready world of the Torpedo Ink motorcycle club. But Ice knows Soleil belongs with him—and he’ll do whatever it takes to keep her. Soleil, after a life of drifting aimlessly, decides to take charge of her life except her manipulative ex-fiancé refuses to let her simply walk away. She meets Ice, this a gorgeous, dangerous man straight out of her most secret fantasies. High on adrenaline, she finds herself falling fast and hard for this biker, knowing little about the territory she’s stumbled into, and even less about what it really means to be Ice’s woman.
Christine Feehan once again writes a gripping tale of biker-assassins, actions, and off-the-chart fiery passion between Ice and Soleil. The plot is darkened by the disturbing child sex trafficking and pedophilia, but it does not turn me away from enjoying the book. In fact, it reinforces my awareness there are victims out there. Vendetta Road is a suspense thriller with an erotic romance not for the faint of heart.
So good. And surprisingly hot! I loved Ice and Soleil. Their story was amazing.
Vendetta Road is a great read in the Torpedo Ink series. I couldn’t put it down, and I can’t wait for the next book in this series.
Torpedo Ink is a series that you can’t really say you enjoy reading because the history that the Torpedo Ink members share is beyond ugly and we get up close and personal with it. Maybe too up close and personal, so consider yourself warned.
Based on the past books, I went in expecting to be confronted with Ice’s past and I figured there would be a lot of edge of your seat, gritty action as he and his brothers took down the worst of the worst in all kinds of violent ways. I also knew I’d be treated to a fair amount of sexy times too. But this installment of the series blew the doors off the charts with the sheer amount of kink. I’m not talking hard core BDSM, but this couple likes to get their freak on with witnesses, and they did it every chance they got.
The good news is that the sex scenes were smoking and led me to backtrack and highlight passages. But, there were so many, no matter how good they were I ended up skimming pages to move the story along. Yes, hard to believe but there is such thing as too much of a good thing.
What saved this were the suspense plots. As much as these boys resented what we turned them into, they had no problem taking care of business. Here, there were two things going on— chasing down pedophile rings and taking care of Soliel’s crazy ex.
I do have to say, the more information we got about just what Soleil’s ex was involved in and how much he and his group of his cronies had gotten away with, the more far-fetched the whole thing was. Thankfully for me, it was like watching a big blockbuster action film. No matter how ridiculous the bad guys were, you couldn’t help but want to stand up and cheer as they go down.
As for Ice and Soleil, obviously they have a ton of chemistry. Ice’s history was heartbreaking, and I wish I could say that Soleil had helped him heal, but I can’t. There just wasn’t enough substance there for me to get a good feeling that they’ll make it in the long run. I have hopes though.
I struggled how to rate this one. I can say I stayed up ‘til the wee hours turning the pages. That alone makes it an above average read. But, it had issues, and that’s why I can’t give it a top rating.
Rating: 3.5 Too Much Of A Good Thing Stars.
Vendetta Road by Christine Feehan is book Three in the Torpedo Ink Series. This is the story of Soleil Brodeur and Isaak “Ice” Koval. I have not yet read the previous books, so for me this was a standalone book. Soleil is very much alone after her family has pasted on and her family lawyer has died too that looked out for her. Soleil is engaged but doubts about that are strong and when she goes to tell him of her change in plans to marry him he becomes aggressive and abusive. So after one episode of this she sneaks out to get away from him. Soleil happens to meet a women who offered to help her and when she went to find her she found Ice instead. One look and Ice was hooked on her and he wasn’t letting her go. But of course nothing is easy for them.
Totally loved this book and now I so want to read the other series. Loved this author’s writing with the strong alpha male and the easy to love heroine.
The Details:
– 18+
– 3rd book in Torpedo Ink (standalone) series
– Contemporary Romance/MC Romance
– Mild paranormal themes
– Utterly addictive read
It was only a few hours ago that I finished reading Vendetta Road , the third book in the Torpedo Ink series and I’ve just started re-reading Bound Together , the last book in the Sisters of the Heart series which introduces the men and women of Torpedo Ink and leads into the Torpedo Ink series.
It’s not the first time I’ve re-read Bound Together, more like the fifth or sixth time that I’ve re-read the book, but after reading Vendetta Road, there wasn’t any other book or series that I wanted to read, I just want to stay in the Torpedo Ink world for a little longer.
Christine Feehan, with the Torpedo Ink series has created characters that will crawl into your mind and heart and stay there and I guarantee that if you read these stories, you will find yourself thinking of the characters again and again, long after you’ve turned the last page of the book.
Vendetta Road was a book that took me by surprise.
I knew it was going to be a great read, because every book that I’ve read by Christine Feehan has always been that. What surprised me about this book were the main characters.
The romance, the chemistry, the fun that Ice and Soleil share was unexpected and beautiful and I think Ice’s first view of Soleil is going to stick with me for quite some time. It was such an absolutely sweet and beautiful moment.
I know that this is a book that like, Bound Together, I’m going to find myself reading again and again.
Great job, Christine Feehan!
I look forward to reading the next book in the series: Desolation Road (releasing June 30,2020) – until then, I’ll happily keep reading the Torpedo Ink series again.
I loved this couple and the way their story unfolded from one of physical seduction to one of trust, care, and acceptance…love. Seduction, which wasn’t too difficult since both had the same goal and the Torpedo Ink brethren to help it along, was fun and something Ice knew how to do. Along with defending those younger, weaker, and in danger. Soleil provided him with the need to do both.
Soleil is a strong independent woman, maybe not of her choosing but the circumstances of her life made her. She was tired of being alone and not part of anything. The desires of her heart did make her vulnerable but the greed of those who would harm her and her strength to avoid it put her on a path into Ice’s arms.
I love seeing how the trauma they both experienced affected their lives. And as they grow as a couple and move through difficult and dangerous circumstances,to themselves and other members of Torpedo Ink, they learn physical sex, adrenaline rush is not what makes a couple strong. That communication was a two-way street.
Acceptance and understanding can only come when you share yourself and trust another person enough to do it. Love the moment Ice’s hand is forced, to keep Soleil and to protect his brothers, he must tell her everything. Her heart is much like his, protective and caring she just wanted someone to see it in her the way she saw it in Ice. He tells her and she understands and is there for him. In doing so Ice finally gets it, when you say you are all in you have to be all in…and that women are magic…and she finally feels she belongs and is a part of his life and all it entails. Both are accepted for being just who they are.
Christine again weaves their story with heat, action and all the emotions that illicit both tears and laughter. Truly a story of redemption, acceptance and karma delivered. While traveling this Vendetta Road we also get great insight into members of Torpedo Ink as the family they forged and the traumas they faced. How the relationships being made around them may just be opening them to hope and the steps they need to take to find themselves. And how they work as a unit delivering their brand of justice. Can’t wait to see what Absinthe’s book, Desolation Road, brings him and the club and the little thread woven through the books building the series.
Christine Feehan heats it up in her third installment in her Torpedo Ink series. I thought Christine heated it up the last couple of books in the series, but she proved me wrong with Vendetta Road. She went from steamy to scorching with Ice’s story. Although, forewarning ahead of time that this book includes a lot of dark triggers/elements in it. If you read the previous books, then you know the Torpedo Ink members grew up in Russia being trained as assassins, but in the worst way possible. No child should ever go through what they went through, and that is why they now hunt pedophiles. Christine Feehan will bring up the past of each Torpedo Ink character in her books, and this time its Ice’s book. He went through hell growing up, primarily to protect his twin brother and little sister.
Isaak ‘Ice’ Koval has never had a connection with a woman until he comes across a woman in a sundress, while he’s on a mission in Nevada. He almost blows his mission because of the woman. The beautiful woman Soleil Brodeur is in Las Vegas with her so-called fiancé, Winston, who’s trying to force her marry him. She’s an heiress to a fortune, and she doesn’t want to marry Winston. The minute she tries to break it off with him, Winston becomes violent. She ends up running into one of the female Torpedo Ink members, Lana, who gives her Soleil’s information if she ever needs help. Soleil ends up needing her help and runs into a bar where the Torpedo Ink members are, and Ice immediately recognizes her from earlier. Ice and the rest of the Torpedo Ink club members are determined to help Soleil, especially after finding out the truth about what Winston is up to with Soleil.
Ice and Soleil’s connection is instant that they can’t keep their hands to themselves. Let’s say these two end up together several times that include on the pool table, in a clothing store, and at a camp in front of many others watching them. Their connection is not steamy, but off the charts, HOT! I felt that this book had a lot more sex in it from the other books due to the couple. Ice and Soleil are not prudish at all when it comes to being with each other.
So why only 3.5 stars? Unfortunately, I’m not a fan of instant-love connections. I wanted more of Soleil and Ice getting to know each other before jumping at each other. Although, I did enjoy how Ice protects Soleil and tries everything to reassure her that he can handle going after her fiancé. One of the most significant issues I had in the book was how Soleil doubted Ice and the Torpedo Ink members too much on protecting her. She didn’t know them very well, which was another thing that made me mad. She should’ve been told who they were from the beginning. There was also the quick plot to the story of what Soleil was running from and how Ice and the other Torpedo Ink members are protecting her from in the story.
Things I enjoyed though was getting more of what the Torpedo Ink members are trying to stop due to what they went through in their pasts. I love how they are not the typical Motorcycle Club too. They each have their powers, and they use those powers to take down some dark and twisted people. Christine Feehan manages to go into each character’s background a little bit more in each one of the books. I need to know more about each of the secondary characters.
Even though this book didn’t get a high rating from me, I’m happy that Ice got his HEA with Soleil. He deserved it, especially after everything he went through in his past and continued to go through in his present. I will say this that Soleil is perfect for Ice. She gets him on why he is the way he is after he finally reveals the truth. I wish I could like the instant-attraction, but sometimes it can be over the top for me.
Now his twin brother, Storm, and his sister, Alena, need an HEA too. They all deserve a HEA. Christine Feehan has managed to suck me into this twisted world, and I’m hoping that Torpedo Ink takes out all the sick and dark people of this fictional world.
I’m anxiously waiting for the next book since it’s Absinthe’s book and he’s fascinated me since book one.
Story Rating: 3.5 stars
Steaminess Rating: 5 stars
Standalone or part of series: Part of series, but each book follows a new couple.
Do I recommend this book? Yes.
Will I read other books from the author? Yes.
Tropes/Elements: Motorcycle Club; Insta-Love; Damsel in Distress; Dark Triggers: Human (Kids) Trafficking; Rape, Child Molestation, Violence, Murder
I have loved every book so far in this new series by this author and book three is another fine example as to why.
We get non stop action and total alpha males. Ice is a hard man, he hasn’t gotten close to many but when his eyes land on Soleil everything changes in that instance.
Soleil, however, comes from money that much is obvious so what would she want with someone like Ice?
This book is a true never judge a person by their looks story.
The chemistry between this couple is off the charts, sassy, and sizzling hot.
Soleil is tougher than she looks and Ice has vowed to protect her with his life.
Can she accept the bad boy he truly is? Well grab your copy and find out.
Torpedo Ink is one of my favorite series and I love how Christine can ring every emotion out of me!
For Ice and Soleil I liked watching them grow and connect. Soleil is basically alone in this world and finds herself in trouble and on the run. Ice is the man for her. Yes, with his tragic background he has specific needs and yet he found a special woman who understands and loves him enough to want to be with him.
I love how the Torpedo Ink responds to Soleil and she gets to make a family finally.
Action, beside all the sexual chemistry going on picks up mid book and then I thought the book finally really gets going.
I truly enjoy the clan aspect of these stories and I am always ready for the next one to find their perfect mate to help bring them peace.
Christine Feehan never lets me down, there is always Karma to her stories!
Vendetta Road is the third book in the Torpedo Ink Series and it certainly kicks things up a notch!
Vendetta Road follows the story of Ice and Soleil. When we first meet up with Ice, he’s in Vegas with his crew and comes across a woman who knocks his world off its axis. Their meeting is fleeting, but makes an impact. Little did Ice know that this chance sighting wouldn’t be the last time he saw his mystery woman…Soleil has just been drifting, floating along. She has no family, no friends, no one in corner. She’s trapped in a loveless relationship, and when said relationship takes a violent turn, Soleil is desperate to escape. Before Soleil knows it, she finds herself swept up in Ice and his biker world. He offers her the chance of a lifetime: family, love, protection…she’d be a fool to turn him down….
I fell in love with Soleil and Ice from their very first meeting. Their chemistry was instant and definitely fits the bill for an insta-love story-line. And even though they fell hard and fast for one another, it totally worked. I loved how Soleil had this air of innocence about her, but she was anything but. When it came to Ice, all of her inhibitions went out the window and lets just say, these two were the perfect match. And Ice, I loved how quickly he was knocked on his butt by Soleil. He took one look at her and had to make her his woman. He was possessive and swoon-worthy at the same time. He totally fit the bill of alpha male and would do anything for his woman.
Vendetta Road kept me on the edge of my seat the entire time I was reading it. I couldn’t put it down. This book was dark and gritty and filled with lots of passion. This story deals with some tough issues, but the author handled those issues with care. This author doesn’t hold back and definitely keeps her readers hanging on each and every word.
Probably one of my favorite things about this book was just how tight the characters were with one another. You know they’ve all seen and done some terrible things. They all have that darkness that haunts them and are just looking for someone to shine some light and happiness on them. The crew of Torpedo Ink are the exact definition of family. They support one another, they look out for each other and will always have their backs, and their women are treated like royalty.
Vendetta Road is sexy, action packed and totally hits the ground running. This book sucks you in instantly and will leave you holding your breath and waiting for more. Vendetta Road checked all of my boxes when it comes to the biker genre. I had a great time getting lost in this crew and can’t wait to see where this series will take us next.
I loved this story, it is not as dark and intense as the previous books and was fun watching Ice have to rethink his previous opinions of how to keep a woman. Soleil while being quite naive of what it means to be a bikers old lady, shows her true mettle when things get rough.
Las Vegas the city of hopes and dreams, where for a moment in time all the stars align to bring Isaak “Ice” Koval and Soliel Brodeur together for a life they have both dreamed could never be possible. Ice and Torpedo Ink crew are in the city not only celebrate the wedding of family members Steele and Breezy but also on a mission to rescue a child. A chance meeting in a hotel bathroom and an overheard phone call send Soliel on the run for her life, seeking sanctuary at a local Biker Bar while trying to find Lana the woman who offered Soliel protection, she runs into Ice and the crew. Ice can’t believe the beautiful woman that he saw briefly on the street just walked into the very bar that he was in, what were the odds of that happening.
Ice and Soliel together were fun to watch as the story unfolded, each thinking that they were manipulating the other into the very thing both wanted a life with someone to call their own and love that would save them them both. Soliel really has no idea that Ice is going to protect and defend her with his last breathe if need be and when she sees how dangerous the Torpedo Ink crew can be, will she stay committed to Ice or will she run. All will be answered on the long ride down Vendetta Road.
Amazing!!
I have loved this series from the very first book and not one of the books have let me down because they are written so that you feel whatever the author wants you to feel. With this series there could be triggers for some people due to the background and the current lives that the Torpedo Ink members have lived through and what they are dealing with now. The great part is Torpedo Ink has always stuck together as a true family and they each have the others’ back no matter what the circumstance.
Ink and the good girl heiress, Soleil, have found their way to each other in an incredible way. Soleil was the fiancé of a powerful man who was pushing her into marriage she didn’t want and since she had no family she really didn’t know who to turn to for help until she met Lana who was one of the female members of Torpedo Ink. Lana gave her good advice and also her number in case she needed it after going back to break things off with her current fiancé. After her meeting with her fiancé she took off on the run down to the area where there were biker bars and found a man there with the same jacket that Lana had worn. She needed protection after discovering some very dark and disturbing things that had gone on and what these men were going to do to her.
Her safety net was in the form of a very bad*ss biker and he had a serious connection with Soleil. The road they took to take in their lives was filled with sex, chemistry, danger and a family bonding. I highly recommend not only this book but the rest of the books in the Torpedo Ink series. For me it’s an outstanding series!!
