The Promise
This is a great start to a new series. It’s a prequel to Book 1, The Surprise Wedding, in the new Veils & Vows Series.
Olivia and Devon are from totally different backgrounds. They love each other but I never felt Olivia was fully committed. Her family never approved of Devon and when the opportunity arose, her father made sure to use the situation to his advantage. I hate people like that.
As always, Jean Oram has written a wonderful book with well-developed characters. It grabbed my attention from page one. While Olivia and Devon don’t get an HEA in this novella, I know they will in the next book. Jean never disappoints her readers. So, grab your copy today and find out what happened with Olivia and Devon when they were in college. You’ll love their story.
The Surprise Wedding
Devon and Olivia meet again 10 years after their college break-up. They need each other in order to further their careers. If Devon becomes Mayor, Olivia will get what she needs for her business venture. So, she helps Devon run for Mayor. Sounds simple right? Guess again. Nothing is simple when it comes to these two.
I laughed, cried, got angry…the whole gamut of emotions. But this isn’t an angsty book, it’s a sweet romance full of hope for the future. Full of love. All kinds of love, not just romance. That is one of the things I love about Jean Oram’s books–they showcase all kinds of love and are full of hope. A feel-good read.
A Pinch of Commitment
A Pinch of Commitment is a wonderful, sweet romance. Ethan and Lily will grab your heartstrings and pull. Hard. They are a dynamite couple who have a firm foundation for their love to blossom, grow, and withstand the storms of life. They deserve an HEA after what they have each endured.
Ethan was introduced in The Surprise Wedding as Devon’s brother. If you loved Devon, you will love Ethan. They share the same core values and when they love, it is with their entire being. If you haven’t read Devon’s story, what are you waiting for? It is an awesome 5-star story.
If you like stories that are well-written, with characters that are everyday people, and a top-notch story, look no further. A Pinch of Commitment is the book for you.
The Wedding Plan
I absolutely loved The Wedding Plan. It has drama, humor, and romance. When Emma and Luke agree to a business arrangement marriage, you know sparks are going to fly since they have already spent a couple of scorching hot nights together through the years.
When Luke was introduced earlier in the series, I thought he was a loser. I couldn’t find one redeeming quality. Well, now that he is no longer following in his dad’s footsteps, his true personality shines through. He has to learn how to relate to people on a personal level but he is sweet, funny, caring, very protective o Emma, romantic, and dedicated to helping Emma succeed.
Emma also gets a chance to shine in this story. She had come across as a pampered princess with a limited IQ. She is neither of those things. She has grit and determination, intelligence, compassion, a sense of humor, and knows how to relate to people.
I do wish their fathers had suffered more severe consequences for all they had done. They were reprehensible. That is just my opinion and doesn’t detract from the story.
If you love sweet romances with lovable characters that are well-written and hold your attention from page one, look no further. I highly recommend The Wedding Plan. I recommend the entire Veils and Vows series.
Accidentally Married
Accidentally Married is a wonderful addition to the Veils and Vows Series. Jill and Burke are so much alike: proud, stubborn, determined–all traits that are sure to make sparks fly and cause them to butt heads repeatedly. At first, I thought Burke was a “callous you-know-what.” He realized he was acting like a jerk and didn’t want to be that way. His change didn’t happen without setbacks but his true personality definitely won me over. Jill was also a bit unlikable at times but she finally found her footing and allowed her true personality to shine. (Devon Mattson wouldn’t have been close friends with Jill if she wasn’t a terrific person. 🙂 )
I absolutely loved Aunt Maggie. And Gulliver! Gulliver was the perfect counter-point to keep Burke grounded and set him straight. I’d love to see both of them get their own stories.
If you like Cary Grant/Doris Day romantic comedies, I guarantee you’ll love Accidentally Married.
The Marriage Pledge
The Marriage Pledge is an awesome addition to the Veils and Vows series. Amy and Moe are so afraid of losing what they have they can’t see what they could truly be. There were times I wanted to slap them for being so obstinate. But, as they say, the path to true love never runs smooth. Knowing they have such a solid foundation for their friendship and love, I knew they would figure things out eventually.
There are plenty of outside influences to add drama to the story with Moe torn between buying the bar and wondering if he really wants the responsibility. Worrying if he can be a good father or if he will take after his parents. Amy also worries about being a good parent but for different reasons.
I highly recommend reading The Marriage Pledge.
Mail Order Soulmate
Another fabulous story by the amazingly talented Jean Oram. I’ve been rooting for Zach to find his HEA since he was first introduced. Being a unique guy, he had to go about it in a truly unique manner. After threatening to order a bride on-line, it seems he did just that. Or did he? Things aren’t always what they seem and Catherine is hiding some pretty big secrets. I loved watching Zach fall for Xavier as much as he did for Catherine. They always say to watch out for the quiet ones and Zach is no exception. He has a big heart and falls hard. Catherine is determined to guard her heart but she can’t help but fall in love with Zach. And Blueberry Springs.
I laughed at the scene where they tried putting in the car seat for the first time. It brought back memories of wrestling with one.
I do have one major complaint about this story: It is the last book in the series. I hate for the series to end. I hope we continue to see more of these characters as Jean Oram writes more stories set in Blueberry Springs.
I loved catching up with old friends and seeing what was new in Blueberry Springs. It is a wonderful town with wonderful people. Somewhere I would love to live.
I urge you to read the entire Veils and Vows series. It is awesome.
