Gracie Cain is a healer. I’m Noah Jarvis, a cold-hearted killer. We had one night. The best night. Then she thought she could strut out my front door and my life, right after announcing she was my best friend’s baby sister.“Give me a memory, Noah.”That’s what she said … right after she rendered me stupid in the shadows at a wedding reception. I did everything I could to figure her out. She wore … to figure her out. She wore more veils of armor than I’ve seen in a lifetime. On the outside, she was strong and self-assured. But within those beautiful, guarded blues? She was laced with vulnerability and grief.
She got the memory she wanted, but in the process, I was left branded.
When she ran, I had no choice but to follow. Not only did I go after her, I chased her halfway around the world. Because when it comes to her, one memory isn’t enough. It doesn’t matter that there couldn’t be a more opposite pair than us.
But when my job came back to bite me in the ass, I wasn’t the only one caught in the crossfire. It bought us memories no one was counting on.
That’s when all the veils were ripped off.

4 stars. Veils was a really good book! This is the fourth book in the Killers series and is Gracie and Noah Jarvis’s story. I have been looking forward to Jarvis’s book for a while and was not disappointed! I can’t say anything about the story without spoiling it. I can say that Gracie is Grady’s little sister. She and Jarvis meet, sparks fly and an amazing story follows.
I adored Noah and Gracie. They were so sweet and sexy together. I loved his nickname for her, Lover. The story was emotional, but also uplifting. Both of them go through a lot. They made a great match. They were both strong and caring for each other to lean on in hard times. There wasn’t much pushing away; they clung to each other. This was an easy, hard to put down read.
Overall, I really enjoyed this sweet, sexy, adventure filled, suspenseful and emotional read. I was happy to see this couple get their well-deserved HEA. This was a really good book and I look forward to more from Ms. Asher in the future!
“Give me a memory”
And what a memory did Brynne Asher gave us with this book. I have a humongous book hangover.
Veils is the 4th book in The Killers series and while each one of the books is amazing, but this one is my new favorite.
“She’s in the business of saving lives. It’s my job to take them”
Noah Jarvis and Gracie Cain’s story is beautiful, passionate and strong.
They thought it would be one night stand, but one night would never be enough.
The writing is beautiful. The storyline is amazing with lots of suspense and angst that will have you at the edge of your seat.
The chemistry and the passion between the main characters are out of this world hot
Oh Noah Jarvis. Love everything about him. He was intense and knew what he wanted and one night would never be enough.
“Mark my word, Lover. I’ll become your hardest habit to break.”
My Rating: 5 STARS!!
I don’t even know how to describe this in a way that would do it justice. Noah and Gracie are WOW! I am in love with Noah. The depths he went into in order to make Gracie his just about melted me. Their entire connection was fire and undeniable and I couldn’t put the story down.
Perfection…absolute perfection. I swear each book in this series is my new most favorite but Jarvis’ book is something special. Brynne Asher stayed true to her characters and gave us everything we could possibly want…the best characters out there, a fantastic story that’s not only believable but is unpredictable, smiles, laughter and tears but most of all she gave us a memory. There’s no way 5 stars comes close to doing this book justice. This is an absolute must read!
Noah and Gracie are the couple you never knew you needed, until you meet them. I adored this story SO much and was hooked by the end of the prologue. And when that happens, you know you’re in for a good story that is worth losing sleep over!
Noah is meant to be a good memory, but he’s never been so great at the “going with the flow” thing when he finds something he truly wants. And he wants Grace. He wants all of her memories and to make more with her. He’s not going to let something as insignificant as danger and mystery, or even his best friend, get in his way.
Grace doesn’t think she wants more than a memory with Noah, but he has some magic (and serious determination) about him that changes her mind. Of course, she has to work through a few things before she can begin to believe in a forever. And Noah is the perfect man to work through them with her.
Of course, there are bumps in their journey, but when is the thing worth fighting for easy? Noah and Grace have their work cut out for them: he needs to break down her walls and she needs to let him. But when those walls come down, their life ahead becomes a thing of beauty. I can’t wait to see what comes next in this series.
First off let me start my review by saying Noah Jarvis is mine. Just ask Brynne she gave him to me for my birthday. Haha!!! Now my review. Noah and Gracie are without my favorite out of all of Brynne’s characters. Gracie is strong willed and is determined to find herself while helping others and Noah is determined to prove to Gracie they are great together. The chemistry these two have can be felt through the pages. It’s pure and raw emotions are so fierce and strong. I love how when Gracie pushes away Noah is gravity toward someone he’s never known he needed. Thank you Brynne for such a beautiful story.
I want to start out by thanking Brynne Asher for creating all the alphas in my reverse harem and then adding Jarvis too. Now it’s the entire Killers series alphas, she’s such a giver to be creating my harem, and I will always be grateful for her thinking of me *winks*. I believe I did read where someone called dibs on Jarvis, and even though I adore that person…all I read was blah, blah, blah *laughs*
Ok, on with my review. A shit ton of stars, honestly there are no amount of stars that could do this book justice. This book was so amazing and this couple was everything. This book had every emotion you could possibly feel. I fell in love, I was shocked, I was in awe, I laughed, I cried, any emotion you can think of…I felt it. This is one of the many reasons I have dubbed this series a book crack series, the addiction is so real. The alphas are just as addicting as the series itself, which is why my reverse harem is all the males in this series. This may be my favorite book of the series, but I probably said that after every book in this series, because they are all that great.
This was a safe read. Their chemistry was crazy off the charts, so much heat. A sexy af OTT protective alpha and a tiny, but tough heroine. I think we expect the men of this series to be tough, but so are the women. I loved seeing all of my favorite characters of the series, and the women…their text, so damn funny. A fantastic storyline that will leave you wanting more. An epilogue and an hea. This series never ceases to amaze me, and it always leaves me wanting more.. Brynne Asher…you killed it….uh, no pun intended.
Psst…thanks again for my reverse harem.

“I had no idea one night with a stranger could be as intimate as it was hot. Because he did what I asked of him – he gave me a memory. He rocked my world in a way I won’t soon find my equilibrium, if I ever do again.”
Imagine meeting a complete stranger at a wedding. A hot stranger. And connecting with him or her on a level you never have before. Expecting only one night together. Making memories you can take with you forever.
Then fate steps in.
A Killer and a Healer.
Noah and Gracie’s story is one of strength, revelations and a love so deep that nothing….not even over protective big brothers….can break them apart.
Veils is hands down the best book Ms Asher has written to date. Grab your favorite drink and snack and settle in when reading this book. Once you start you won’t want to stop. LOVED IT!!!
“Give me a memory, Lover”
That’s exactly what Ms. Asher has given me….so many memories! I’m still trying to come to terms that I’m finished because I just want to be in Gracie and Noah’s life some more.
Let’s talk writing…..For me to connect to a story/character, they need to feel “real” for me. I want to be able to be the heroine/hero, basically walk in their shoes. I was able to do that! I walked in Gracie’s shoes….in more ways than one. I was able to feel all her doubts, her fear, her love and most importantly, her hope.
Noah….ahhhhh…..he is my Noah…he was brought to life for me in so many ways: he was pretty intense and all ALPHA! And you all know I love this ALPHA’s. He was the perfect partner for Gracie. I love how he couldn’t get enough and didn’t let go.
Veils is one of my top reads! I felt like I was meeting friends as soon as I opened my nook.
A friend asked me what images came to mind while I was reading, well, here they are:
Hope
Compassion
Protection
Defiance
Forgiveness
Earth shattering
Thank you Ms. Asher for giving Gracie the story she deserved and for giving Noah Gracie. And most of all, thank you for the memories.
VEILS is one of the BEST BOOKS I’ve read this year! I LOVED IT so much!
It was heartbreaking, BEAUTIFUL, and, oh, so wonderfully romantic.
I started this book at night and finished in one sitting—I couldn’t put it down! Nothing mattered but Noah and Gracie. At times, my heart hurt, then it raced, and by the time I finished, it was close to bursting with happiness. When I finally put my Kindle down, I was smiling.

VEILS is a can be read as a standalone, but I highly suggest reading the other books in the KILLERS series because all of Brynne Asher’s books are AMAZING!
What an exciting book!
Noah Jarvis is quite a guy. He’s an intense man, and puts his all into pursuing this fascinating woman. I love the easy repartee between Jarvis and Gracie. To see a tough guy soften to playful – priceless.
Excellent reading all the way through. The action is nonstop; the romance heats quickly and builds more slowly as more layers are revealed. The plot has twists and turns that kept me on edge throughout!
Brynne Asher writes good stories…
I find myself lost for words when it comes to writing a review for Veils. I think it’s because it can be easily summed up by saying that it’s good. Brynne Asher has a talent for writing romance that satisfies all my needs. A strong and determined heroine who knows what she wants to be matched with a hero that’s fierce, intelligent and extremely sexy. The storyline captured my attention from the start and held it to the very end. The additional characters are ones I have grown to love in previous instalments, and I enjoy seeing where they are at now. The sexy times are HOT!! Basically, Veils is good.
There’s a little part of me that feels guilty when I get so much enjoyment out of the heroine being put in a dangerous situation. I know it’s bad that she’s in trouble and maybe risking her life. It’s just that I love it when the hero rushes in to save her. I know there are plenty of women out there who can save themselves and don’t need a man to rush in guns blazing, but it seriously DOES IT FOR ME! Yes, it’s the *he’s so hot when he’s in charge* that makes me sigh in delight, and I’m a sucker for *he picked her up and cradled her in his arms*. So, it’s not that I want the heroine to be vulnerable, I just want the hero to save the day and then be all soft and gooey looking after the heroine. Noah does ^^^THIS^^^ very well.
I really enjoyed getting to know Noah better and thought that Gracie was the perfect match for him. Their story was proof that sometimes you just have to find the right person to make you believe in love. Both Noah and Gracie are not looking for love when they met and it takes Gracie a lot longer than Noah to believe what feelings they have are worth fighting for. I loved Noah’s determination and thought that Gracie was just being stubborn holding him off for as long as she did. For goodness sakes, he’s HOT, BOSSY AND EXTREMELY SEXY. What more could a girl ask for?
Veils is an action-packed adventure and I really enjoyed Gracie and Noah’s journey to happiness. From a person who is a shocking secret keeper and very *what you see is what you get*, I tend to get a little frustrated when the characters hold back important information. Getting information out of Gracie is like pulling teeth. Noah’s patience with Gracie was a wee bit unbelievable. I’m not sure how I would have handled the person I was coming to love, keeping secrets or not being open with me. But, then again, their relationship was pretty short and intense.
If you’re a Brynne Asher fan, you are going to love Veils. It’s everything we’ve come to love and expect from The Killers. My favourite Killers and their partners were back, and I loved revisiting the vineyard and seeing Addy’s cows again. This story was good.

Wow, 5 Give me a memory stars! I just adored this book, The perfect amount of drama, suspense and action, with some twists and a whole lot of chemistry! Bring on the next book!
Veils is the 4th book in the killers series! I have been impatiently waiting for Jarvis’ book and it exceeded my expectations. Jarvis is everything you could want in a hero and more. I was hooked from page one! It was pack with emotion that kept me glued to my seat until I was done! Jarvis and Gracie are now one of my top couples, this series keeps getting better with each book. I can not wait for the next book!
I have said it before but it bears repeating, I stayed up way, way too late in order to finish Veils! I had work in the morning but there was no way I was putting it down. This book is total and complete perfection! Brynne Asher has been compared to Kristen Ashley and I consider Ms Ashley the equivalent of book crack (addicting and life altering). Ms Asher has exceeded that, she is on the level of air or water; her books are necessary for life! Jarvis was absolutely one of the best male characters I have read. He has been a character throughout the previous books and his story has been much anticipated. I can say that he was worth the wait. His Gracie was just as awesome, so caring and the complete opposite of Jarvis. I adored her! I found myself, as with previous books of Ms Asher’s that I can’t devour her books no matter how much I want to. They demand to be savored so I find myself consuming portions but then putting it down as I don’t want it to end. It is a confusing feeling to say the least. Five stars is not a high enough rating for Veils, Jarvis and Gracie deserve all the stars and the moon as well!
This story is absolutely everything, including words that haven’t even been invented yet. I know Brynne Asher is an amazingly talented writer, but Jarvis and Gracie’s story blew every expectation I had, away! It is action packed, sweet, emotional and oh so sexy, you never know where the story is going to take you next. I was gripped from page one and was hooked until the very end. Now I want to go back and do a reread to discover things I missed in my haste to devour every page, but the one thing that really made me fall in love with this book, was the humour throughout, my heart would be breaking one moment and the next I’d be laughing out loud.
This is such a beautiful love story that spans continents where every stolen, shared moment is made to count. Opposites really do attract when these two are together, after all, Noah Jarvis is a hired hitman, ridding the world of the dangerous people that threaten the way of life as we know it, and Gracie Cain is a nurse, a healer, someone who wants to make the world a better place by spreading the love she has to give.
The connection is there from the very beginning and try as she might to be done with him after just one night and the memory he gave her, Gracie can’t shake Noah, and in the end she doesn’t want to, and once she stops trying, she clings to him with everything she has, and him to her.
This family, blood and chosen, is so special, these characters, old and new make this one of my top 5 reads of 2019. I can’t tell you enough, how much you need Noah Jarvis in your life. Grab a copy immediately. A thousand gold stars Brynne Asher, I can’t wait for book 5….
