All his other Harem brothers have found their one true love and they are spectacular princesses. Not Valor’s girl.Veila is the definition of evil. Not the kind of girl a guy falls for. Especially a stand-up guy like Valor. He’s not interested in her sexy glow, her pretty hair, or her glowing eyes.No. Valor only wants one thing for his fated princess.Death.But it’s kind of hard to kill someone … fated princess.
Death.
But it’s kind of hard to kill someone you’ve been genetically engineered to love. And Veila not only has total control over him, but also Harem Station. The only way Valor can get Harem Station back is to use the soulmate bond against her.
Valor has to make Veila believe that their bond is true, that his feelings are real, and that he is willing to sell out his brothers, hand over all of Harem Station’s secrets, and leave his old life behind to help her get what she wants. But it’s never going to happen. Valor will never love Veila.
Ever.
He’d rather die trying to kill her than spend one moment as her puppet king. There’s just one problem.
The soulmate bond goes both ways.
Veiled Vixen is book six in the Harem Station series and features an army of pissed-off princesses, five brothers facing their past, a station filled with ruthless, rebelling outlaws, and a lesson in what matters. It’s a love story about revenge, and hate, and regrets – but also forgiveness, loyalty, family, and having the courage to see the truth behind the veil.

This one by far is very different from the rest in the series. I actually felt bad for Veila even though some women, might have a hard time with a certain scene. Very interesting how the series of events played out in this one. I feel like I have more questions!!!
*I received a free copy of Veiled Vixen. This has in no way influenced my voluntary review which is honest and unbiased.*
Veiled Vixen was very different from the other Harem Station books in many way. First of all, not a single character really knew what was going on. And some of the characters had lost parts of their memories, while others had gained some memories from other characters. And there was a huge war on the horizon.
I found Veila and Valor’s story to be very different, too. Because they had some pretty tough choices to make. And they hadn’t really had much choice about what had happened to them up until now. And their journey was both actual and philosophical, so I enjoyed that a lot.
Of course, I have even more questions now than I had when I started reading, even if a lot of the questions I had before have been answered.
Veiled Vixen (Harem Station #5) is the brilliant penultimate book in this gripping series and it’s all starting to come together.
Valor’s character is the most level headed of the brothers and I loved him however, I was determined not to like Veila because, well… she’s evil. Now though my feelings toward her are changing and I just know that I’m going to end up liking her. To say I’m giddy with excitement to listen to the last book is an understatement! I highly recommend it.
This is book 6 in the Harem Station Series and it is a doozy. As is the case with science fiction, there is a lot going on. JA Huss has built such a fascinating world with such in depth characters of different species…the Akeelians and Cygnians and AIs and bots and borgs and ships and stations…it’s incredible and intelligent and wonderful. There is so much going on in this book, but I never felt lost or confused, which I admit has happened before with me while reading sci fi. I can’t wait for the finale, but I also don’t want it to end!!
Received an ARC from the author.
The Harem Station stories are coming to a close soon (I think) and it’s evident in this book. There’s no fighting, although lots of talk about it, but instead lots of planning, solving, and resolving.
Given Veila and everything that has happened in these books and Valor’s thoughts toward her, I was a tad let down with this one. Despite my love for romance, I was actually hoping that the soulmate bond wouldn’t work in this one and that it would be the first book in which there wasn’t a HEA for a couple and that they went their separate ways. Since the whole book was in Valor’s POV and we got nothing from Veila, I thought that she would remain the villain at the end of the book. Instead, the author worked to redeem her and make her soft right at the end and Valor’s walls dropped and they both embraced the bond.
It’s a good book, but I didn’t love it in comparison to the others. It didn’t give me the same spark.
The overarching plot over the series was good though and we’re seeing that start to get resolved in this one. The fights are happening and I’m excited for when Corla gets awakened and all is figured out with ALCOR.
Everything is coming to a head! I really want the Harem brothers and Princesses to have a happy ending
OMG LOVED IT!!!
So just going to say first this is Book 5 or 6 whichever you are looking at on Amazon is now I guess calling Star Crossed Book #2, so anyways if you aren’t up to Book 5 turn around and start at Book 1 Harem Station! You will get yourself all messed up.
So Veila you are such a Veiled Vixen no doubt. I know that Valor got to see a lot of what most don’t see. Veila was whom she is out in the public and someone totally different on a ship he didn’t even know she had, her actual living quarters. But anyways it starts painting a picture of a different witchy woman we have come to know what exactly she is about and what and why was she using those kids….well you gotta read to even know what the heck, and some I am talking about some kids at Mighty Boss’s Place, yeah a certain kiddo Delphi fell for he still looking for her or trouble of both! Lol and that a lot of these kids and the brothers might be relations of some kind I for see.
But Im going to tell you what happens in THIS NEXT BOOK!!! Its Gonna Rock Our World and YES Maybe Earth!!! Ha ha ha but that’s all Im telling!!
Julie Huss aka KC Kross built an awesome crazy world of people, places, and things that have plenty of ties to other worlds/planets/galaxy’s that I feel will some how always be around, a hunch but maybe?? That maybe some don’t even die or are they all dead?
I can tell you I asked myself that a couple of times and so something big is going happen, something big already happened, but this is going be BIGGER! Its another WAR but can Veila and Valor and is Booty around to step in and what about Tray and Brigit? Or does someone make things worse?
Anyways I am proud to call myself a fan and be able to enjoy getting lost in a place were Princess’s that glow can take a double dicked AlKKalian Men and make us Love it! Lol I dunno exactly were I changed about Veila maybe they same as Valor but we do see something else only Julie could rise to the occasion to make it even possible truly!!!
Well lets see how we end in this next book I here maybe a last for a bit, but maybe not the world and lots of people might just get their own Book and or Princess, Soulmate or do they?
I’m not normally one for sci-fi romance, but I do absolutely love this series. It just keeps getting better and better. The world-building and character development continues to grow and intrigue me. I’m honestly not sure how JA is keeping it all together as the plot twists and turns and the interludes throughout add so much more to the story as you go. You don’t get to see just one side to everything you’re getting everyone’s story as the plot grows. Valor and Veila..one hell of a story for these two and if you haven’t already you should start this series so you can see how they’ve made it to where they are now! I really cannot wait for the next book to come out!
OMG!! I absolutely loved all the different points of view in Veiled Vixon!!! And ALCOR!!! And the princess riots!! I just loved this book sooooo hard and is probably my favorite of the series…. there were so many questions answered, but even more questions left unanswered. I am absolutely hooked on this series – I can’t love on it enough.
This is Valor and Veila’s love story… or is it their hate story?? Lol there is sooooo much I want to say, but it feels like anything i say about the story is a spoiler! So i will leave it at YOU HAVE TO READ THIS SERIES!!!!!!!
I recieved an ARC for my honest review!
Most of the part of this book I was heartbroken and that was for various reasons. Because of the situation the brothers were into, not trusting each other when they always had their back before, Valor and Luck’s hurt, finding out about the life that cynigan princesses had to endure, the uncertain faith of Harem station and maybe, maybe, okay I’ll admit: Veila’s past which is quite sad. Nothing is what we thought we knew from the previous books and this one proves it and some more. But thorough all that heartbreak I really loved this book, I felt constantly riding big waves with each turn of situation but hoping I will make it in one piece!!
Totally enjoyed diving down the rabbit hole on this sixth book in the Harem Station series.
Valor’s and Veila’s story is intertwined with his brothers’ and their princesses so reading in order is a must, in my opinion. Many answers with more questions, such as why pink or silver… how will the Alcors end up… and Canis, will the young ones have their story?
This story has sexual tension between the two, although there are few actual sexy times in this story, so that’s different. If you loved the previous Harem gems, you will love this too. Take it for a “spin.” It doesn’t disappoint!
I love this series so much!!
Valor is just so lovely and I want to have him in my life.
I was not very interested in Veila, but I hace to say that her story broke my heart and make me see her in a different light. She has done terrible things but all the characters have done awful things too, so like Valor tall the important part is what she is gonna do now and in the future.
I don’t understand Luck, I want to. I think he was a little too hard on Valor. He should have listened more and have more confidence in him. I know Valor left him first but he didn’t for Luck.
I hope to see him together soon and than they can resolve their problems.
The IA are one of my favorite parts. ALCOR is the best. And I just want to know all the secrets and mystery right now.
This book left me with more and more questions.
I can’t wait for the next book to finally understand all that is happening and happened in the past.
And I want to see all the brothers, the ships and ALCOR together
Wow, it really takes a great writer to turn a “ruthless and hated” villainess into someone we “might” accept for our Hero, Valor. In all the prior Harem Station books, each brother has had to deal with the “evil Veila” trying to take control of everything, including Harem Station. Veila ultimately reveals some of her secrets to Valor, but can he trust her?
In this book, our beloved Harem Station is in turmoil after the boys’ plan from Prison Princess goes awry, and Valor’s not sure what to do. We experience everything on Harem through Valor’s eyes, and through interchapters (aka interludes), the reader also knows what’s brewing outside Harem Station. Through these interludes, the author has provided more details, and yet, those details actually raise more questions. All of these questions are steering us toward a spectacular finish in the final book featuring Crux and Corla. Can’t wait!
I had so many questions going into book 6 in the Harem Station series and by the end those questions had doubled. In true JA Huss/KC Cross fashion, this has me dying for more Harem books to find out all my why/how/who questions! Some secrets were revealed with a whole lot more to be found out. There were twists that were very surprising and a rollercoaster of emotions that had me yelling throughout the book. Even through this, I could not put the book down.
I very much loved Valor and Veila together, even with all their bickering, stubbornness and hateful feelings they had towards one another. I really enjoyed all their interactions and how everyone felt towards Veila. I loved how, through everything that has happened/is happening they formed a sort of team and I loved Valor through all of this. His character was so easy to love and relate to, there were no flaws to be found with him.
Although Veila was supposed to be this big bad guy, I did feel really sorry for her at times, and finding out some of her secrets and the reasons she does things the way she does really made me feel for her. I would’ve loved to have read some chapters in her POV just to know what goes on in her head though.
I loved the interludes with some of the other characters and getting to know what was happening with them, I can’t waiting to read more from those guys.
This book was a definite page turner especially towards the end where the big action happened. I didn’t know if I wanted to slow down my reading just so I could make the last few chapters last, or keep turning those pages fast to know what happens in the end. But because I was dying to know what happens I finished it in no time at all, just wish there was more now, so I’m beyond exited to see what happens in the next Harem Station book.
Veiled Vixen by J.A. Huss continues the Harem Station series and tells the story of Valor and Veila. Things are falling apart all around them and the last thing Valor wants is a soul mate, much less Veila, but some things are out of your hands. But is everything really like it seems? In true Julie fashion, she gives us some answers, but lots of questions as well. How will it all end? I was not sure about this new sci-fi world, but with Julie, I should have known better. You can never go wrong with a book written by her!
Happy reading!
Usually, the blurb gives you a true look into what the book is about. There is so much more than what the blurb suggests.
Valor is the easy-going brother. He is kind of always in the background. Until now. Everyone on Harem Station is waiting for him to fix everything that went wrong (see the last book). As we all know Veila is his soulmate. Problem is Veila is evil and Valor hates her.
I am not going to go into much detail. This book is so worth the read. There is so much going on and some questions are answered and there are even more questions that need to be answered.
We get to read about things that go down on Mighty Minion Station and who visit there. We get to find out about the boy’s fathers and what was done 21 years ago.
There is a very heart-wrenching scene that makes Veila more human. I know, right?! Who would have thought she had a soul!
There are 3 parts to the book and each part is important in telling the whole story.
The Harem Station series continues with Valor and Veila’s story, though this one is written solely from Valor’s POV. Veila has been the evil princess throughout this series and Valor has wanted nothing more than to kill her at the first opportunity. I think every reader has had these feelings as well. This is a Huss/Cross book though so nothing is ever black and white and you must expect the unexpected.
Veila, and the Veiled Vixen story are mostly about the civil war happening on Harem Station which is cut off from the rest of civilization. Huss uses a clever device of interlude chapters from other characters to fill us in on what is happening elsewhere.
I have loved all the stories in this series and the way Huss develops her characters makes me feel like I really understand them and their motivations. Valor and Veila are no exception. Impossible to imagine before this book, I am left with a deep empathy for Veila and hope that these two find their HEA.
This book does a lot to move the series plot along, answer some questions I have had, and of course, creating many more. We are left knowing that the big war is coming and hoping that Harem station will unite in time to fight and win the war. Unfortunately, we’ll need to wait a few months for the conclusion in Crux’s book, which will hopefully release in January. I’m sure it will be worth the wait for the epic end to this fabulous series!
I was not a sci-fi person. In fact, I’m not sure I am now. I’ve read a couple other authors and just didn’t get into it. But this series has taken me and turned me upside down. I LOVE how Julie can twist and turn things. Veila did not deserve Valor. My heart physically dropped for him SO MANY TIMES through this book and Prison Princess. I relate to him so much! I was a bit upset about his pairing. Really? The most pure guy was getting the evil princess? Why?!?!? But Julie. She pulled it off. This book was perfectly written. I absolutely cannot wait for the next books!! And I’ll be picking up the Audiobook version of all the books as well!
*I received an ARC of this book and read this book through Kindle Unlimited program to get the EOBS.
Veila’s story is about to be told and we will learn more of the history of how this war began. Valor and Veila will have to make some hard decisions and only hope it will end the war. I am on the edge of my seat waiting to see what will happen next. I love Valor and hope he gets an HEA.
Veila’s story will tug on heart and open your eyes. Harem station is all about second chances but will Veila get one.
I Received this ARC from Author for Honest Review.
I Give This Book a 3.5-4/5 Star Rating, listing as 4.
HEA(?): Yes.
Heat: 3-3.5ish/5
Romance: 3ish/5
Suspense: 4.5/5
Drama: 5/5
No Spoilers.
I Have to Be Honest, only having Valors POV had me liking this book much more than I thought I would.
The Single POV, kept my attention fixated more easily, cause to me having Veila’s POV probably would not have been a good move.
And Strangely enough even though the rating may not be high, (I have to go by my rating list) this book actually might be one of my favorites of the series so far.
I am a Huge Fan of this Series and I Look Forward to the Next Book!
Of Course I Plan to Read more of KC Cross/ J.A. Huss! 😀
