It is recommended to read after Deliver, but it can be read as a stand-alone. Warning: Graphic sex and violence. Age 18+ only.

Why I haven’t read these books earlier? But I’m glad that I’m reading now because Deliver and now Vanquish have been so great. This world and especially its characters are interesting. I was curious about Van on first book and I was glad that I got to know him better on this book. I really liked him and I think he was interesting character. It was great to see how he was with Amber. How he wanted to help her with her own problems. I also liked Amber a lot and they were perfect for eacg other.
Vanquish
By Pam Godwin
Main Characters: Amber and Van
I voluntarily and honestly reviewed this book without bias or persuasion from the author.
4 out of 5 stars
This book deserves a 5 for the authors writing but I am rating it also on the subject matter. This book is a dark, depraved romance. It has scenes of rape and physical abuse. Once I got past that part it was hard to put the book down. It also has lots and lots of hot sex and my favorite a HEA ending with no cliffhanger. I am looking forward to reading the next book in this series.
Van Quiso is not a good man, he’s a rapist, kidnapper, sex trafficker and a murderer but when he meets Amber while stalking Viv he gets to know her, and ends up wanting to be a better man. Pam Godwin has a talent, I didn’t think there was anyway I would come around to liking Van but by the end of their story I not only liked him but cheered him on.
Amber Rosenfeld is a former beauty and fitness pageant queen and model, now an agoraphobic shut-in, with a lot of OCD and low self worth. She inherited the potential from her mother but her bastard of an ex-husband was the nail on her mental coffin. When she stumbles on to Van it raises all his predatory instincts and she became his new obsession. I liked how strong she was even with all of her debilitating fears. Pam handling both of their disfunctions with respect, grace and talent.
Van starts off planning to use and abuse her but ends up doing everything he can to help her overcome her fears as he falls in love with her.
Their story is gritty and dark but their love brings light into both their worlds. Loved this read, it will twist you this way and that before the end.

4.5 stars! This book is Van’s story. I wasn’t sure what to expect with this book as Van wasn’t the nicest guy in book 1, Deliver. I have to say, Pam Godwin totally redeemed him and made me see him in a new light. It was a great story and I can’t wait to move onto book 3!!
I didn’t love Deliver and thought about quitting the series, but I liked the blurb for Vaanquish and decided to give it a go. Ambers agoraphobia was so emotionally wrenching to read. I felt myself having a panic attack as I read about her. I ached and hurt for her. I rooted for her to be better and felt her failures on a deep level.
Van, woah, he’s a different animal. While I had sympathy for what he went thru as a child, his treatment by his father. But it was hard to get through his other psychotic behaviors. You’ll have to read yourself to see if Pam is able to redeem and heal these 2 characters.
I’m sure 100 reviews have started by saying they didn’t think it was possible, we’ll make it 101! Van has redeemed himself….mostly. The story had my attention the whole time. Great read!!!
Book 2 in the Deliver series, and this picks up right after the first one, so needs reading in order.
This book is all about Van, who we met in book 1, and to be honest he is one of those guys you just love to hate! He is a very complicated and complex character, who you don’t learn an awful lot about in book one, other than he has some serious issues and is obsessed with Liv.
This opens after he has been shot by Liv and survives. He is still obsessed with her and begins stalking her and Josh in their new life, wanting desperately to get a chance to spend some time with their daughter, but knowing that he hasn’t got a chance! Its on one of his stalking episodes he comes across Amber in her house, which he thought was deserted, and she is having an ‘episode’ outside. He is instantly attracted and curious about her and her quirks his obsession soon changes from Liv to Amber and he sets about making her his next slave.
Amber has some major problems from self-esteem issues, to OCD and agoraphobia. Her world built around routines that cannot be messed with. When she meets Van her whole world turns to shit, as he is intrigued with her and curious about her quirks and loves nothing more than pushing her buttons.
Again, this is brilliantly written – dark, disturbing, thought provoking – with characters who are complex and seriously broken, but with spirit and determination to win through and carry on the best way they can. I didn’t really like Van in book 1, but in this we find out a lot more about him, and I ended up really feeling for him and his messed up ways and routing for him to find his happy place. Amber is a mess with all her flaws, but goodness what a fighter, her spirit and grit really shine through. You could really feel just about everything she was going through, with her OCD quirks and her panic attacks.
A great read, dark, raw and intense – about learning to fight your demons and loving someone for who they really are. Highly recommended reading yet again.
Wow! What a unique book! Van Quiso was a human trafficker in the first book of this series Deliver. Now it’s been a year and all he wants to be is a part of his daughters life. He stumbles upon Amber one night while stalking his daughters mother Liv. Amber is an ex pageant beauty queen that has all types of issues including Agoraphobia and OCD along with self body shame caused by an a**hole ex husband. She’s a shut in and Van and has made it his sole purpose to help her overcome her fears of the outside world. He also believes by having Amber at his side he can prove to Liv (whom we met in Deliver and is the mother of Van’s daughter) that he has redeemed himself and is no harm to her or their daughter. This is Van AND Ambers journey through the pain and heartbreak of their issues. It’s an an amazing, painful, heartbreaking story, yet it’s beautiful and sexy and uplifting. Pam did an amazing job with this book! Can’t wait to dive into the next book Disclaim!!
Well Pam Godwin puts a whole new spin on dark romance! Van is back and he’s as twisted as ever but now his tastes have evolved. He’s watching Liv and Josh (if you haven’t read book 1 you need to before reading this one) and stumbles upon their neighbor Amber. She is a shut in with a mile long list of issues and Van decides that she should be his! This book is very dark but the author is so talented that the reader starts feeling a strong connection to Van. I wanted to see him and Amber come out of the dark and into the light. I honestly cannot say any more in my review without giving away this story and I will not ruin that for other readers. It is written from dual POV and as I have mentioned it is a dark romance. If that isn’t your thing keep moving along. If it is your thing jump in!
I have no words. This book was totally amazing and mind blowing good. Dark, intense, oh so good. This book will leave you think what in the heck did I just read? I need more.
Wow! another amazing book by Pam.
Book 1 I absolutely loathed Van but by the end of this book I loved him.
Van and Amber’s relationship is unique, it started off bad, then through out the story they find what has been missing in each other and fall in love. What Amber goes though is hard and Van pushes her limits and by doing so he begings to feel bad about his actions for the first time, becoming less of a monster. Amber is a firecracker deep down and made me laugh a few times.
A love story that starts off immoral and ends exquisitely.
Beautifully written.
Can’t wait to read the next book.
Absolute fantastic! Vanquish with a spin with Dark Romance… These series definetely had my armhairs stood up more often.. It had driven my senses to crazy, absolute thriller terrified but I cant put the book down..
Amber and Van, their relationship were bad… damage to a point that I cant understand why.. The story was delivered with raw vulnerablity and madness.. too good to quit.. keep going!
There is so much experience I get from a book where the characters are broken. Van and Amber found so much in each other in such an unconventional way, yet seeing Van’s redemption unfold brought tears to me eyes. After meeting him in Deliver, I didn’t expect he was capable of redemption nor did I plan to wish for his HEA… but this story was EVERYTHING!
What a beautiful dark love story with a lot of fu@&ed up-ness. Van and Amber were both trying to over come their past and to hope for a better future. I can’t wait to read the next book in this series!!!
A dark erotic romance,a little twisted and a whole lot of sexy. Van and Amber are quite the pair. Loved this story !
Vanquish is the 2nd book in the Deliver Series by Pam Godwin.
I didn’t know if I would like book 2 because it’s Van’s story and well, face it. He totally gave me a fright in book1. If you want to know why, read bk 1. In book 2, he totally made me like/love his character and emphasize with how he ended up a nutcase yet still deserving of love. This book totally makes me look forward to bk 3 in this series. I don’t want to say anything more and give any spoilers away. Just know this dark romance is full of heat and suspense which will have you craving more.
My Rating: 4.5 stars ******
After finishing Deliver I couldn’t wait for Van’s story. A great read, but definitely dark and deals with sensitive subject matters. This story gives more background as to why Van is the way he is and how he evolves and redeems himself through his journey with Amber. A must read in this series.
I loved Van and Amber’s story.
Van is the villain that I love and have a very soft spot for. He is clearly the most misunderstood stalker ever.
Amber breaks my heart with her fears and phobias.
I love this series.
This review contains references to Deliver. If you have not read it I would suggest you do not read my review.

Vanquish is book two in the Deliver series. Reading Deliver (book one), sets the stage. As Pam Godwin states – Vanquish is a stand-alone, BUT if you intend to read the first book, Deliver, DO NOT read Vanquish first. There are numerous references in this book that will spoil the surprises in Deliver. If you don’t plan on reading Deliver, carry on.
If you survived Deliver then you are well aware of Van Quiso. I couldn’t imagine how Van’s story would be told. The depths of his cruelty seemed unredeemable. I was so surprised! His story was not at all what I expected.
Van Quiso has not led an easy life. Son of a former slave and drug addict. Abused in the worse ways from age nine only to be “rescued” by his father and made into a sex trafficking monster. He is truly a broken man. Life has given him nothing but cruelty.
“He was the worst combination of his parents, his very blood blackened with human slavery.”
Van is obsessed with two things; Liv, his former slave, and their daughter Livana. He wants an opportunity to meet his daughter. While spying on Liv he stumbles upon her next door neighbor Amber.
Amber Rosenfeld is also held captive. She has a form of agoraphobia that literally has her trapped in her own home. And she also has OCD. She is crippled by the combination. Unable to leave her own home. As the story unfolds Amber’s layers are peeled away until we get to her core.
Two very broken people meet in an unconventional way. Van, the hunter, sees Amber as his prey. He understands what it is like to be captive although Amber is a captive by choice. Van sees an opportunity to use Amber in his plan to meet his daughter.
“What was wrong with this girl? The intensity of her fear resonated deep within the depraved part of his being. It was as intoxicating as her beauty, but where did it come from?”
This was not the story that I expected. Honestly, I don’t think I could have taken another “Deliver”, lol. It was fascinating to watch both Van and Amber face their demons. There were a lot of “ah-ha” moments and a few twists I never saw coming. A big thumbs up to Pam Godwin who made my heart soften and sympathize toward Van. I was rooting hard for Amber! I love how she builds both Van and Amber back up and yet they are still not perfect. A great follow up to Deliver!
Looking forward to Disclaim!
4.5 stars
4.5 Healing Stars!!!
“You don’t really know someone until you see them in the dark”
Pam Godwin does it again! I feel like she writes just for me, is that possible? How can I go from thinking Van is a crazy, doll loving, stalker to a someone I LOVE? (And want to have raging sex with) It doesn’t get anymore disturbing, I should have a therapist on speed dial!
Vanquish can be read as a standalone but I highly recommend reading Deliver first. We met Van in Deliver, you get real insight in to his motives at the beginning of this story. A captive story in so many ways. Being held captive or holding yourself captive, is the question?
“I’m the heir of torment, Amber.” She stepped back, hands shielding her groin and breasts. He rose and held out his arms, unabashedly nude. “I’m the slippery footprints in your carpet. The creaking floor that steals air from your lungs. The hand that holds the gun.” He paced through the room, snagging a pair of jeans from the floor, and met her eyes. “I’m the inescapable curse that caught you when you opened your door.”
Oh Van, you did a number on me. I know we had to see you heal but I really love your sadistic mind. I had hoped you would kill Brent, because in my sick and Twisted mind I thought the humiliating of one’s wife was worse than kidnapping and rape. This is not right?
Amber’s insecurities seem to hit home. I don’t know how many times I’ve thought the same crazy things. (Am I fucking crazy? Maybe, but I think there’s a lot of pressure on women in society.) To be perfect, to be pure, to be everything. What happens when you finally crack under the pressure? I LOVED AMBER and her crazy. LOVED! The book goes into great detail about her disorders, I couldn’t get enough.
These two are two halves of a whole. How can you fix a person when your broke yourself. Pam really tugged at my heart strings. I do have a heart, sometimes. Some will find this not as dark as her other books, but it’s about healing from being in the Dark for too long.
“What are you fighting? Fear?” His mouth touched her ear, his timbre a silken noose around her neck. “Fear is a deception, little girl. It doesn’t bruise or thrust or bite.” His grip tightened. “Fear is not your Master”
Another masterpiece by Pam Godwin! I love her dark poetry, I feel it in my bones. I feel like revenge was the only thing missing in this story.
