Lisa Harris’ Vanishing Point builds suspense one body at a time!
Garrett Addison had no idea that his first week on the job as a criminal investigator for the Tennessee Bureau of Investigations would put him on the trail of an apparent serial killer. His first case is the murder of a young girl. The murder has at least one similarity to two others – a Polaroid photo, left with the body, taken of the girl just prior to her murder. The terror in her eyes chills Garrett, but with no other clues, he is stumped as to where to search next. As the body count mounts, will he be able to stop a killer before he (or she) strikes again?
FBI Special Agent Jordan Lambert is pulled into the case to assist TBI. Working with Garrett again brings back all the feelings she had for him back when they were in the police academy together. Can they work together to solve a case that has been percolating for over a decade, or will their feelings cloud their judgment?
Fourth book in the Nikki Boyd files series, Vanishing Point goes back in time to show how Nikki Boyd became an agent for the FBI following the disappearance of her teenage sister, Sarah. Covering about 10 years, Harris builds suspense with every new body. Finding this killer seems impossible, as the clues are few and no one has survived an encounter. I loved the slow build to the surprising ending.
Readers who enjoy the romantic suspense (with lots more suspense than romance) will enjoy Vanishing Point. I know I did. While this book is fourth in a series, it can be read as a stand-alone, but I can pretty much guarantee that, once you read this one, you’ll WANT to go back and read the rest. I’ve enjoyed all of the books in this series. Harris knows how to build suspense and keep her readers flipping pages!
I really enjoyed this book. I had read the 3 Nikki Boyd Files books and was hoping there would be a book to solve the mystery of Nikki’s missing sister. This was labeled as a Nikki Boyd Novel as opposed to be the 4th in the series, but it was fantastic either way. Reading the background and resolution of the mystery was gratifying. As always, Lisa Harris did a great job keeping up the suspense and creating believable characters. I feel like I’ve gotten to know Nikki Boyd personally; always the sign of good writing!
Vanishing Point is the chilling conclusion to the Nikki Boyd series. It’s fast-paced and heart wrenching suspense. I’m sad to be saying goodbye to Nikki and her TBI team. Their investigative skills are exceptional. Their drive and determination to solve cases and give a voice to the voiceless is outstanding. I’m looking forward to reading more stories by Lisa Harris.
Recommend to fans of Patricia Bradley, Colleen Coble and Lynette Eason.
I won a copy. All views expressed are my honest opinion.
Great read full of suspense. Great ending to the NIkki Boyd Series.
Keeps you thinking.
I really liked this book – it was my 1st one by Lisa Harris. It was CLEAN – yay! And not very many typos, either, which is a pleasure. Great story line & characters. The only thing I didn’t like was the skipping between different yrs; it threw me off track.
I loved the book, very suspenseful. Recommend highly.
Vanishing Point is a Nikki Boyd novel but this time Nikki takes a backseat as a secondary character to the Garret Addison and Jordan Lambert story. Garret a criminal investigator with the Tennessee Bureau of Investigation and Jordan a Special Agent with the FBI are selected to be members of a team in search of a serial killer who is targeting teenage girls. In addition to working the investigation as part of the team the two of them are shown over the years also deciding if they should rekindle the relationship they once had when Jordan left to join the FBI years before. The two storylines blend well together to a good finish.
Loved this book. It was 4th in a series. Loved them all. Lisa Harris is one of my favorite authors.
I loved this conclusion to the Nikki Boyd series! Lisa Harris took an interesting approach by going back in time to the beginning of the Angel Abductor cases so that readers can see how the whole thing plays out from the beginning to present day. Although readers get to see how Nikki Boyd gets involved in law enforcement after her sister is abducted, this story focuses on Garrett and Jordan who were originally assigned to the case. However, Nikki Boyd fans do get some exciting updates!
In the midst of page-turning action, nail-biting suspense, and just the right amount of romance readers will finally have answers to the questions they’ve had all along about what really happened to Nikki’s sister and who is the real Angel Abductor?? What I always appreciate about a Lisa Harris novel is she will keep you on the edge of your seat wanting to know what happens while also giving readers a chance to get to know the characters on a deeper level. In this story, readers will see characters deal with issues of forgiveness, family issues, redemption, etc.
Even though this can be read as a stand alone, do yourself a favor and go back and read the first three in the series first. You won’t regret it!
I was given a copy of this book in exchange for an honest review.
In my opinion this book is the finale of a true series. You need to read all of the previous books before this one.
This is part of a romantic suspense series but most of this particular book felt more like a police procedural/crime than suspense. There is no feeling of danger until very late. I was just as invested in finding out the outcome as if the main characters were in danger though.
I really enjoyed the development of both Garrett and Jordan. Their past is presented early but their relationship is explored throughout the book. I loved the fact that they discussed openly their questions about God.
The plot of the case that is ongoing from before this book began until the very end was fantastic. There were so many twists and turns that I was kept guessing. The red herrings definitely added to that.
I received a free copy of this book from the author. I have chosen to write this review to express my personal opinion.

All of her books are great
I have been waiting and wanting to read this book, I’ve read the others and hoping from the past books that Sarah will be returned home, and the reason Nikki Boyd works with the TBI, and now the same things are happening and no answers.
The main characters in this story are different, but unfortunately the happenings are the same. We have two workaholics that seem to love one another, but time after time leave and move on with their lives, will we see them make a commitment, or will they fall victim to evil?
What a compelling read this author has offered us, and you want to read all of the books in this series, there are four, they will keep you coming back for more.
With this read we have the conclusion of the Nikki Boyd saga, but it is going to linger with you and boy do surprises abound, if you like mystery and suspense, don’t miss these!
I received this book through the Revell Blogger Program, and was not required to give a positive review.
With this book the author takes an interesting approach to the mystery that’s driven the Nikki Boyd series. The book steps back in time to the underlying serial killer question and shows the original investigators wrestling with trying to find answers as young ladies are disappearing around the Nashville area.
Vanishing Point is filled with threads of romance, family challenges, and the race to save the young women before it’s too late. While Nikki Boyd is not the primary character, she has more than a small role and allowed me to see how she became the woman she was. I really enjoyed this book which took a retrospective look at the crime that got Nikki Boyd into law enforcement. A great read and a book I would recommend to lovers of romantic suspense. However, if you want your books in sequential order, this one might jar you. I loved it!
