Harper Wilde is sitting on the beach, minding her own business when a huge, muscular Kindred warrior with black hair and blazing white eyes demands that she accompany him into the future. Harper has no choice–she is dragged against her will into a dystopian nightmare–the world as it might become if something isn’t changed. And that something that needs changing is Harper herself. As a ten’sora, … herself.
As a ten’sora, she is of special interest to the Hive, an insectile race of beings bent on taking over the Earth. By using her, they can conquer both the Mother Ship and the human race. Unless Harper is altered so the Hive cannot make use of her, the grim future she finds herself in will become reality.
Shad is a Shadow Twin–a Kindred male destined always to walk alone with very little chance of forming a bond with a female. Yet, he alone is able to make use of the looper–a time travel device which allows him to move back and forth between the past and the future to try and save Harper. Falling in love with her isn’t part of the plan but the big Kindred can’t help himself. But he knows he must put his feelings aside and do what is necessary to change the past…unless he wants the future to Vanish forever.

This was quite a different Kindred tale set in the future, well a possible future as the past needs correcting. I hate those Hive critters and was glad of their outcome….or was I? All is never as it seems.
Shad must go back to the past to save this woman who would become a breeding Queen. Time and time again he has failed and this is the last possible chance. I was hooked from the beginning and couldn’t put this story down. As the book drew to a close I thought no way and then wow didn’t see that coming. I highly recommend this story.
Love this series, because it is a funny. Different view of what outer space could be.
I love stories where authors create there version of what could be out there. To read relax and enjoy.
Honestly, not sure why I keep going with this series. The main characters are always the same, just different names and a new species of Kindred. The sex scenes always played out exactly the same, with a few kinky additions sometimes. That said, they still kind of entertain me. Plus you get curious about the next book.
However, didn’t really like this one at all and only got into it at 65%. Then it was at least entertaining. But seriously, the forced sexual situations need to be changed up. Or add unusual genital. Or… anything, because I’m so close to giving up on this series.
I have read the entire series once .. and am rereading them again! Evangeline Anderson is a great author! I wouldn’t mind being called as a Kindred bride …
Love all of her books!
Great series!
I received a free copy of this book via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review. I also bought the book because I love this series, and I was not disappointed by this one. I love that Ms Anderson is taking us into the Kindred children’s lives. Every single one of us Kindred fans has been curious about what would become of the children, and I can’t imagine a better place for her to start than with Shadow, the only shadow twin born so far, child of Kat, Deep and Lock. It was filled with all of the steamy sexy that always gets her books revved up, but the story was so intense and heart wrenching and kept me guessing from the first page. There were moments that brought tears to my eyes, and a spin so wicked, I didn’t know how it was going to work out. Somehow, this author always takes us there and back and leaves us breathless. Can’t wait to see what she has in store for us next!
Wow is all I can say after reading this story!!! I had been anxiously waiting to read Shad story and let me tell you that it was definitely worth the wait. I absolutely loved Shad and Harper. The struggle they both had to endure even though Harper couldn’t remember it. I could only imaging the heartache, frustration, and pain that Shad had to go thought every time when he couldn’t complete him mission and be with the person he love. My heart broke for him. The same way I loved Harper I also wanted to shake her, I felt like she was being so inconsiderate and selfish. She didn’t stop to think about how all this was affecting Shad at all. Even with that been said this was a enjoyable and entertaining read. I’m totally looking forward to reading more books in the Kindred series. I voluntarily read and review this ARC no minority compensation was received the opinions I have expressed are my own.
