Tandy Blakemore spends her days running her New England ice cream parlor, single-parenting her teenage son, and trying to keep her head above financial water. No easy feat when the shop’s machinery is aging and her son is thinking about college. Tandy hasn’t had a day off in a decade and wonders if she’ll ever be able to live a worry-free life.
Engineer Deacon Withers is on an enforced vacation … vacation in the tiny seaside town of Beacher’s Cove. Overworked, stressed, and lonely, he walks into Tandy’s shop for a midday ice cream cone and gets embroiled in helping her fix a broken piece of equipment.
Can the budding friendship that follows lead to something everlasting?

Deacon is on an enforced vacation in a small coastal town where he encounters Tandy at her icecream shop. There’s an instant attraction &Deacon finds himself endeared with her, helping fix things in her store. While intially it’s go get over boredom they develop into more. While both are around late 30’s, I liked it was a mature tale. My only dislike was her unusual curses. Ones I’m not used to esp. with our own Aussie slang.
However it was a nice heart warming tale.

Deacon comes to Beacher’s Cove for a vacation that his family and colleagues insisted he take. He meets Tandy at her ice cream shop, while she trying to get her ice cream machine to work with a hammer, lol. Deacon offers to see if he can help. Deacon asks Tandy out and she turns him down. Does he give up? Of course not. No spoilers, but I will say I wasn’t expecting the reason Tandy is so distrustful of men. Grab your copy and get ready to want to visit and have some of Tandy’s delicious ice cream.

A sweet treat of a romance which takes place in Beacher’s Cove, a quaint beach town in New Hampshire, where Tandy owns an ice cream shop – Vanilla with a Twist – on the boardwalk. Enter Deacon, a successful, handsome, workaholic business owner who needs a break from non-stop meetings, conference calls, and travelling coast to coast.
Ms. Jaeger’s characters have depth and emotion and its so easy to fall in love with them as they struggle with their connection to each other. Funny, romantic, and a perfect read for a summer day —especially if you pair it with a scoop of Deacon’s Fantasy Fudge. Yum!
