Ms Moreland delivered another stellar installment to the BAM series – this time focusing on 2 secondary characters that we’ve been getting to know in previous books.
Van and Liv have been in and out of the previous BAM books and it was a true pleasure to get to know them better here. Both are well written multi dimensional characters with baggage that makes complete sense as we learn their background stories, stories that made me respect both of them even more.
Friends and coworkers leads to a wonderful slow burn as these two, along with a little scene stealer, discover if more is possible. Add in strong support appearances from the original BAM boys in secondary roles and you have a winning feel good read.
This is a book that once I started, I had a hard time putting down. I found myself not only liking Van and Liv, but rooting for them too.
VAN is EVERYTHAAANGGGG!!!!
Melanie has done it again. I don’t think she could ever write a book I would be disappointed in. I loved Van so much, this gentle giant who absolutely falls in love with Olivia and Sammy(Olivia’s daughter).
Van is so good with his hands, carpentry, guitar, everything, all the above, whatever you think, Van is probably amazing at it. I loved this story, I loved his passion for his work with the BAM boys, his music and his love for Liv and Sammy. Some parts just made me giggle and love these characters so much more.
Olivia has had a rough past relationship, and she’s nervous about going into one with Van, but Van being that sweet thing that he is, they’re both gone for each other. There is a little bit of suspense but all kinds of swooniness too. It was great seeing the BAM boys and them taking care of their family. I loved Van and Olivia’s story. LOVE LOVE LOVE. I can’t wait for Sandy.
***5 Stars***
I was really excited when it was announced that Van would be getting his HEA because after finishing Reid I was crossing my toes that he’d get a book because he was such a good guy and Ms. Moreland didn’t disappoint! It was everything from swoon worthy to frustrating to ovary exploding goodness and that epilogue…yeah, that one got me a little teary there, and so worth it after everything that happened in the book.
I adored Van and Livvy. Van, I liked going into the book, but after learning about his past and seeing the man put words into action? Yeah, hard not to adore him. He’s got that alpha vibe, but he is also conscientious, kind and honest which just makes the man that much sexier. Livvy is pretty amazing. She’s sweet, sassy and hard working and a wonderful mother to a very precocious little girl. She has wounds that ride her hard, but I loved watching as she worked at letting the past go.
Livvy and Van’s journey to their HEA was a fun one, sometimes frustrating, but a fun one. I had a love/hate thing going on as they danced around each other, I got why, but when so many signs point to “Just Do It”? Well, it’s hard not to be a little impatient. But it was totally worth it in the end. I loved how they truly got to know each other inside out and loved what they saw. Sammy, Livvy’s daughter, definitely played a huge roll in all of this and I loved how she brought them closer without knowing it. Of course there are some bumps in the road, but it all only made for a very well deserved HEA for all of them.
This was such a fun read, not that I expected less, but one never knows so I always have that safety in place in my mind. It was engaging and though it did deal with a few sensitive subjects, it was all handled very well. And then there is the Vested Interest/BAM crew, I loved catching up with all of them and seeing where they were at in their relationships and just had fun being that fly on the wall as they interacted with each other and showed just how much of a family they had become.

Moreland’s heroes are always swoon worthy, but never have I fallen so hard and so fast for the relationship between a hero and his leading lady’s child! Van and Liv are amazing in their own right, but it’s Van and Sammy who stole the show and captured my heart from the start. Their sweet engagement and instalove made it impossible to resist, and I was all in from that point on.
Van and Liv have worked closely together at BAM for quite a while, but as it often goes, something changes. The feelings they’ve both been keeping a tight leash on are hard to ignore, especially as Van gets to be a part of both Liv and Sammy’s lives. They both have baggage to overcome, but the bigger problem arises when Liv’s past crashes into her present, threatening everything she’s worked so hard for.
If you like your heroes the strong, protective type, with the perfect amount of caring and sensitive to balance it out, you’ll easily fall for Van. And Liv is the kind of heroine we all admire, one who is strong and confident and has risen above challenging circumstances to create a great life for herself and her daughter. I loved every minute of their journey to forever, but the icing on the cake is the Epilogue. Moreland hits us with a double whammy, giving us a picture after the HEA and a little farther into the future, and it’s so touching and poignant it will melt the rest of your heart! Sweet and touching with a side of steam, this all-around, feel-good read is one you don’t want to miss, and these characters will live in your heart long after the last page.

Strong Hands and Huge Hearts!
I fell totally and completely in love with Van, Olivia, and Sammy. These characters are vivid, layered, and extremely endearing. In Melanie Moreland’s capable hands the characters come to life and exude humanity. This love story has joy, a bit of angst, some internal turmoil, external conflict, hope, and a HEA.
Van is big, sexy, musically talented, and a master craftsman. *swoon* Despite his imposing stature he is gentle and kind. He finds himself unepectedly attracted to his colleague, Olivia. Love was not kind to him in the past. In fact, it altered his life path tremendously. So the sparks of connection he feels toward “Livvy” make him nervous.
Olivia is creative, intelligent, hard working, and a single mother. Her daughter, Sammy is her world. She works closely with Van. She admires his work ethic, his attitude, and his physique. Love has not been kind to her. The men that should have cherished her, instead demeaned her. So she has decided that a relationship is not important. The only thing that matters is making sure that Sammy has a stable and happy childhood.
The friendship and familiarity between Van and Livvy is exceptional. Even though they are both scared of being hurt, they can’t deny their chemistry. Watching Van’s bond with Sammy grow is a solidifying factor that will melt your heart. The friendship is sweet. The romance is swoony. The passion is scorching. And the love is magnificent! Oh…and the epilogue is brilliant.
OMG Van was such an amazing read, I loved everything about it and I definitely could not put it down once I started and ended up reading it in one sitting.
Loved the type of man that Van is, he is such an intense, passionate, protective, loyal, trustworthy, romantic and sexy as hell. He is definitely a type of guy that any girl would want as her man.
And the way he connected to Mouse was extra special and pulled at my heartstrings. Any man that attaches himself to a child that is not is blood is special in my books.
This was such an amazing addition to the series and one that you definitely must read.
Van has worked for BAM for a long time and is known to be good at what he does. Olivia works with him at BAM and has her hands full with work and her daughter. Van wants Olivia to see him more than a co worker but Olivia doesn’t know because of her past. With everything going on will Van and Olivia be able to weather the storm?
I loved Olivia and Van’s story!!! In reading their story it definitely pulled me in. I loved how each of them each had their own pasts that they had to deal with in order to move forward. I also enjoyed reading about Olivia’s little girl. She was so cute!!!
Melanie Moreland is one of my to-go authors. I know I’m guaranteed a brilliant time reading one of her books and Van, Vested Interest#5 is proof of that pudding.
Van was a sweet, sexy giant of a man, just the perfect compliment to shy and guarded Olivia.
Olivia’s had a rough time in the past and isn’t sure about letting her feelings for Van become anything serious. She scared of entering into another relationship but Van is head over heels for both her and her daughter, Sammy. He’s good with his hands, in all manners of ways, from woodwork to bodywork… well, Olivia’s anyway. Wink, wink!! So hot!
This was a fun story, with plenty of passion, music and romance. This man can sweep me off my feet any time he wants.
Added bonus was the BAM guys were in it too. It was soo good to hear about them again.
I knew I’d love Van’s story! He and Liv had chemistry and their journey to HEA has all the feels! Sweet, steamy, full of heart!! The BAM family is ever growing and loving!! And Sammy is adorable!! She invades your heart like glitter. It gets everywhere and doesn’t ever go away! Liv & Van are fantastic. This story is full of ooey, gooey, glittery goodness!! I received a review copy. I am voluntarily leaving an honest review.
OMG! I absolutely love Van! He is everything you want in a hero. He is a carpenter by day and rockstar by night. Olivia is a single mom who was made for Van! My favorite part of this book was the interaction between Van and his mouse! This is probably my favorite book in the series, each book is better than he last! I can’t wait to see what comes next!
I love the boys of BAM and when we get to side characters it’s so fun to see what Melanie will give us next. Plus we get to see our favorites from books that came before.
I didn’t think I could love anyone more than Bentley, then came Aiden and his book was awesome, and then came Maddox and his book was amazing. After Maddox there was Reid and I didn’t think it could get better. Hello Van!
This book lured me in from the first words and Melanie had me hook, line and sinker right off the bat!
Van is an amazing character and the way he is with that sweet Sammy and how he is with Liv. So many moments struck me during this book. I didn’t think I would cry as many times as I did for the overall sweet and wonderful things Van does and says.
If you haven’t read any please start the series it is worth your time! I would read these men again and again!!!!
This is a great addition to the Vested Interest series. I love Van and loved getting to know him and his personality. I also love how he is with Livvy and her daughter. This story has a great love story and also a little tension while you wait to see how things will turn out. I definetly recommend this book
From the first page I loved it!
At first my review was just going to be this…
I loved loved loved Van, omg Van my new favorite.
But then that’s not much of a review.
Van head of the construction decision of Bam also a musician and a man with a past that causes him pain emotionally and physically.
Olivia a single mother and designer with Bam. She also holding on to hurt from the past. Their journey has them putting hurts behind them and dealing with a horrible ex, the bumps are few and the heat hot!
The epilogue is one that’ll melt your heart!
I’ve loved all the men from Bam but Van is the ultimate one!
Van is book 5 in this sensational series, every story is different and fantastic in its own right, this story included.
Vince aka Van Morrison and Olivia or Liv Rourke have been coworkers for years and enjoyed each other’s company. Their respect for each other kept them as just friends until they decided to risk making that final step.
Oh my this is foremost a wonderful story of true and endearing love and commitment, of understanding and compassion, of support and family values. It is a beautiful story that makes you feel fantastic while reading and leaves you feeling just as euphoric at the end.
All of the fabulous characters of the BAM family are still here and we meet more great characters. We also meet a new nasty one too that you truly despise through the very clear description of his narcissistic personality.
I particularly enjoyed the good humour sprinkled throughout the story, Sammy is a delight, a breathe of fresh air, and as children often do, comes out with some hilarious things. The fun banter between the various characters is still very evident and shows that family isn’t always blood related. This light side balances the slightly darker issues brought out, even though these are handled well too.
Once again this author has produced a quality story and I am already looking forward to her next book.
I loved every minute of this book! We get to see the other side of the BAM business. Van is a great combination of sexy and sweet.
As always Melanie gives a great book. I love this series. I love the characters and how she weaves them all together. This is a great addition to the series. A very sweet story and main character. I can’t wait for the next one!
This story was exceptionally sweet and I love it so much. Olivia and Samantha is experiencing what it’s like to have a man you can trust and Van can see a potential family if he can convince them?
* No unnecessary descriptions of surroundings
* Good dialogues and Samantha had som really enjoyable ones
* The storyline is progressing nicely to a HEA
* Love scenes is as always intense and steamy and the chemistry between Olivia and Van is there from the first moment.
I feel like I know the BAM family now and the author has created a world of wonderful characters that comes alive in every book.
If you haven’t stepped in to the BAM world I recommend you start. They can all be read as standalone but I would start on the first because you don’t want to miss anything.
5 stars
I didn’t know I could fall more in love with another Melanie’s characters but just as always she proves me wrong.
Van is what we all women want, he works hard, he is sweet and caring. But people who he trusted betrayed him in the past and he decided not to let people in again.
Until he can’t resist more his attraction to Olivia.
Just like Van, Olivia is hard working and caring, she has a priority in her life and it’s not love and certainly is not to start something with her hot co-worker.
At BAM, they make a great work team and Van is willing to explore if they can work it together outside work. Olivia knows he can trust Van, he is different, but what if it doesn’t work? What happens if that ruins their jobs? They have more than that to think of.
I have no words to say how much I loved Van, Olivia and their story. This is a sweet-hot story that will melt your heart. The epilogue is something else; my favorite for sure. The only problem? I need more!
Book 5 in the Vested ainterest Series and just when you think you have seen the best from the men of BAM this author throws us another hottie to fall in love with. This book gave me one of the biggest book hangovers for this year, it was everything I have come to expect and more from this very talented author, I was captivated, I was entertained and it had just the perfect mix of love, drama and suspense. This is Vince (Van) Morrison and Olivia Rouke’s story and oh what a tale they have to tell, this couple tend to be loners they are not looking for relationships or even friendships but there is something pulling them together and that intrigues both of them but will it be enough for them to cross the line and open up to each other …..guess you need to read the book to find that out.
The men of BAM are a special breed, they are loyal to the core and they protect what is theirs , you don’t have to share blood to be classed as a brother and if you are lucky enough to be part of their circle of friends you couldn’t wish for anyone better as a friend or lover. Van is a kind caring man with a heart of gold and he is perfect for Olivia who is a woman we would all love to have as a friend. If you haven’t read this series why not because if love swoon worthy alpha men then the men of BAM should be at the top of your reading list all and I guess all that’s left to say is can’t wait for more from Melanie Moreland.
5 star Review Van (Vested Interest #5) by Melanie Moreland
As I have come to expect from a Melanie Moreland book, Van was extremely well written and had me absolutely captivated from the first to the last page.
This is Vince Morrison (Van) and Olivia Rourke’s story and oh what a story it is. Both keep to themselves and yet there is something about one another that intrigues them and eventually gives them the courage to take a leap of faith and open up to each other.
Van was such a caring man, with a heart of gold and it was no wonder that Olivia finally let him in. I just loved the way Van was with Olivia and with everyone around him; totally swoon worthy. I loved Olivia, such a determined woman who I admire and would be happy to call friend.
The men of BAM protect their own, regardless of whether they are blood or not, they stand
together and are just awesome. Their determination and spirit is truly inspiring as they look after those they care for and when Olivia’s past comes back to haunt her Van and the other men of BAM do not hesitate to protect their own. There was suspense, drama, humour and camaraderie that I found totally heart warming.
This was a great addition to what has become one of my all time favourite series. One click, you won’t be disappointed.
