The Dark Protectors are Back! Vampire Ronan Kayrs wasn’t supposed to survive the savage sacrifice he willingly endured to rid the world of the ultimate evil. He wasn’t supposed to emerge in this time and place, and he sure as hell wasn’t supposed to finally touch the woman who’s haunted his dreams for centuries. Yet here he is, in an era where vampires are hidden, the enemy has grown stronger, … grown stronger, and his mate has no idea of the power she holds.
Dr. Faith Cooper is flummoxed by irrefutable proof that not only do vampires exist . . . they’re hot blooded, able to walk in sunlight, and shockingly sexy. Faith has always depended on science, but the restlessness she feels around this predatory male defies reason. Especially when it grows into a hunger only he can satisfy—that is if they can survive the evil hunting them both.

When Faith is called to check on a coma patient she was not prepared for Ronin a vampire king from a different time who wakes up when she is near. Ronin has been stuck for a long time in order to save his people and others but he is not taking no for an answer that Faith is his mate. Faith’s only family is her sister Grace who has been in a coma for a while so when Faith gets a call that her sister awakened briefly she runs to her side to find out why. She is confronted by a man who claims his blood did it but he can’t give her more or she will die but if Faith helps him he can save Grace. Ronin knows what goes on in the underworld and he isn’t letting his mate get near it, but Faith is feisty and she is not taking orders from anyone. This story was quite funny at the beginning and then it became a fight for life, I loved Faith and Ronin the way they got along. It was a great story that kept you entertained for hours.

Faith is a doctor and an Enhanced human. She can get into the minds of coma patients and help them wake up. Her sister has been in one for two years and she can’t reach her. Ronan is one of the Seven and half vampire half demon. They were formed to guard an evil man. His shield collapses and he was buried under a mountain until he was found. Ronan is thousands of years old and wakes up in this time. As soon as he touches Faith, the mating mark appears on his hand. Faith doesn’t believe any of this but she is slowly convinced by the things Ronan can do. When she is kidnapped Ronan will do anything to get her back.
I absolutely loved this book. It is funny, suspenseful, and very sexy. It will keep you on the edge of your seat while also wondering what will happen next.
* Voluntarily read and reviewed this for Netgalley *
I love this series so much and was so stoked that RZ decided to give us more Dark Protectors! So happy to be back! This is one of my favorite paranormal series of all time! The story is simply fantastic! It is so smart and well written I just can’t say enough about it. However, if you don’t want to be completely lost you should really go back and start with Book 1 because each story is just chuck full of information about the world itself and so many amazing characters. And besides, it’s a great series!!!
Aaaah Ronan Kayrs, what can I say about this sexy vampire/demon except dang he is one sexy alpha bada$$.
He is so funny in the beginning when he wakes from his coma and he is just so far out of his element. And Faith, I just love her. She is such a strong heroine and is also quite funny and sassy. She has such a hard time digesting all she is discovering about Ronan and the world in which she lives. I love that she is no damsel! Although Ronan doesn’t care for the defiance in her much. Like I said, heavy on the alpha. Mates huh? This is going to take some work!
Anyway, this is such a great story line, with intense edge of your seat action, sexy steamy scenes between Ronan and Faith, incredible characters and a hope for so much more to come from this series. I loved it and highly recommend this and the rest of the Dark Protectors series!!
I am absolutely thrilled to have been lucky enough to get a copy of this book from Netgalley!
After surviving a sacrifice to rid the world of ultimate evil Ronan Kayrs, a vampire, emerges from a coma in modern times, several hundred years later. He is immediately face -to-face with the woman he has been dreaming of for hundreds of years, his soul mate, who also happens to be his doctor.
Dr. Faith Cooper believes in science and not much else. She feels the connection with Ronan but denies anything beyond simple attraction. She certainly doesn’t believe in vampires, even when she sees proof, so admitting or accepting that she is his mate? Hah!
We are taken on a ride as Ronan and Faith try to stop the evil Ullric from being released from his mystical prison. His followers, the Cyst and the Kurjans, are trying to kill Ronan to free their leader. They are after Faith as well. Along the way Ronan has to acclimate to modern slang, technology, clothing, weapons, language, etc. Needless to say he has some funny moments. Plus the chemistry between Ronan and Faith just keeps getting stronger until they finally both give in.
This was my first book my Rebecca Zanetti and I am hooked. I already download the first five books in this series from my library. The author creates vivid characters, great world building and a tight plot. I enjoyed this from beginning to end. I would like to thank NetGalley for early access to this book.
VAMPIRE’S FAITH is the eighth instalment in Rebecca Zanetti’s contemporary, adult DARK PROTECTORS paranormal/fantasy romance series. This is Vampire King Ronan Kayrs aka The Butcher, and Dr. Faith Cooper’s story line. VAMPIRE’S FAITH can be read as a stand alone without any difficulty. Any important information from the previous story lines is revealed where necessary. VAMPIRE’S FAITH is the introductory story line to the author’s new arc in the Dark Protectors series.
SOME BACKGROUND: A thousand years earlier, a number of immortal warriors went through a ritual that, if they survived, hardened their bodies against attack, a ritual meant to create a group of Seven known as The Shield. The Shield was created to protect the world from an evil race of vampires known as the Kurjans, their sect group known as the Cysts, and ultimately a rogue warrior once considered a friend- Ulric-a male of immense power. To protect the human race, Ulric was captured, and along with two of the Seven, was encapsulated in one of three spheres for all eternity.
Told from several third person perspectives including Ronan and Faith VAMPIRE’S FAITH follows Ronan Kayrs, half-vampire, half-demon, as he struggles to make sense of the new world order. Four hundred years earlier, Ronan Kayrs volunteered to guard one of the spheres but Ronan’s sphere shattered seven years ago, and ever since, has remained in a coma until the arrival of the woman with whom he would fall in love. With one sphere shattered, and no apparent way to connect with the other, Ronan wakes in a present day hospital only to be tended by the woman he believes to be his mate. Enter Dr. Faith Cooper, a strong-willed, independent feisty physician who specializes in comas and head injuries, and a woman determined to protect her younger sister Grace, whose own comatose status is quickly deteriorating. What ensues is the slow building and acrimonious relationship and romance between Faith and Ronan, as Ronan and the surviving members of the Seven come face to face with an enemy from the past. A search for the legendary Lock (the first female vampire in existence), and the three Keys (marked human females with enhanced blood) is a search that has some interesting results.
VAMPIRE’S FAITH is a complex, detailed and energetic story line with an alpha hero, and stubborn heroine whose choices and actions threaten everyone involved. At times, Dr. Faith Cooper is a little TSTL (too stupid to live) in that she refuses to accept that their safety is threatened, yet constantly going against orders continues to prove otherwise. Faith is determined to save the life, at all costs, of the sister she loves but in doing so continues brings the enemy to the front door. Ronan Kayrs knows that he and his fellow surviving Seven have been targeted by the Kurjans and Cysts; protecting his mate is paramount but his ability to protect goes only as far as his mate’s obedience as it pertains to her own life.
There is a very large ensemble cast of colorful and dynamic secondary and supporting characters including the cross-over from the previous series arc of Logan Kyllwood, Garrett Kayrs, and seven year old Hope Kayrs-Kyllwood. We are introduced to Ronan’s fellow Shield brothers: Benjamin Reese, Ivar Kjeidsen, and Scotsman Adare who, himself has been MIA for close to four hundred years. The requisite evil has many faces.
VAMPIRE’S FAITH brings together some of the familiar faces we have learned to love throughout the author’s Dark Protector series. The premise is edgy, intricate and descriptive; the characters are sassy, passionate and inspiring; the romance is seductive and fated. Rebecca Zanetti pens a thrilling and dramatic tale for the paranormal lover in all of us.
Hot Diggity Vampire! The Dark Protectors are back and their fiery new book, Vampire’s Faith, rocked my world and introduced to me more yummy protectors.
Ronan and Faith are two very strong and captivating characters that burn with electrifying chemistry that easily draw readers in and ensures that they never want to leave. I felt connected to these two characters as they worked out their very turbulent romance that is full of emotion, snarky dialogue and full steam ahead passion as they came together and clashed in all time “War of the Roses” type battlefield romance.
This fast paced plot kept me on a roller coaster ride of explosive action, thrilling suspense, and of course the very rocky romance. The bad guys have new allies and they are definitely up to as much as evil as they can do while the Seven are the newest good guys that are all about stopping that evil in any way possible, which might not sit well with the rest of the realm, so there is never a dull moment to be found during all of the life and death exploits that take place. In another twist, Garrett and Logan find themselves caught up in the Seven’s secret plans to fulfill a prophecy which adds even more thrills and suspense to the story
Rebecca Zanetti never fails to provide me with vivid, exciting and fascinating world full of fantastic characters that I can’t help but love so her worlds are some of my favorite ones to visit so it shouldn’t come to a surprise when I tell you that she has added a whole new dimension to the Dark Protectors world with this new twist in the series and I can’t wait to get to know the rest of these dark and sexy new warriors better.
I am so happy that Rebecca Zanetti decided to continue writing her Dark Protector series after we all thought she ended it with the epic conclusion book ‘Marked’ back in 2014. Vampires Faith is a great book for new readers to start reading as she introduces us to new characters, grown up characters of children who were born during the series and our old favorites we love.
I love anything Rebecca Zanetti writes and this book was no exception. Lots of action, steam and anticipation which rounds out the story. She builds her characters well and this book actually brought in 2 people from the original series. I recommend this book to anyone who likes action, great characters and a steamy love story!
I voluntarily offered to review this book with no obligations and my opinions are honest
The characters + storytelling were very captivating
Faith always believed that science had the answer.
Ronan finally found his mate.
Now they just have try to stay alive.
The storytelling + the character’s build were awesome!
It has all the ingredients that you need for a great book!
5 RIP-ROARING FANTASTIC LOVING DARK PROTECTORS STARS!!!! I have been waiting, and waiting and waiting to get my hands on this book. I was beyond curious to find out how this book would fit into the Dark Protectors series and you can bet your Vampire-Demon loving behind, I was not disappointed. Zanetti, is a go-to author for me. Her word building is spectacular and I just want to live in the Realm world with these males!!! Ronan Kayrs is special and one of the Seven. He meets Dr. Faith Cooper a renowned Neurologist, over 400 hundred years ago. Crazy, right? Hmmmm…maybe not so crazy in the Dark Protectors world, Lol. I am absolutely NOT going to give anything away. If you have read any of her books in this series, then this is a MUST, AN ABSOLUTE MUST READ, to further understand all that is going on. You can expect action, killing of the the bad guys and some new bad guys, suspense, heart-wrenching moments, scorching between the sheets sex, surprises, so many surprises, and a HEA! I just love the way this series is going and I cannot express the happiness I am feeling that Ms. Zanetti is continuing this series.
Another job well done! 5 stars*****
This can be read as a stand-alone, but I recommend reading the other books first. I am so happy that Ms. Zanetti returned to the Dark Protector world! A new major story arc starts with this book and wow, it started off with a bang! Ronan was awesome and typical vampire/demon for the most part, but he tried to give Faith what she needed to accept the new reality she was plunged into. Some reviewers didn’t like Faith, but the author explained why she did what she did to my satisfaction. There are many more mysteries to be solved regarding The Seven, but Faith and Ronan get their HEA and there isn’t a cliff hanger ending. I can’t wait to read the next one!
I have been waiting for this book since I heard it was first announced. I love the dark protector series, and I have reread the books many times. I was so curious about who Ronan was, and where he came from. It was a good book, and I loved the addition of Ronan to the Kayrs family. With that being said, my only issue was with Faith. I like strong heroines who are intelligent and not weak. I found Faith to be annoying. She was supposed to be so smart, and yet she did not come across that way in the book. She did not seem to fit in with Zanetti’s other female characters. This was not one of my favorite books by Zanetti, but I am still anxiously waiting for the next book. Hopefully, thee next books will feature the Zanetti characters that we know and love.
I voluntarily read and reviewed an ARC of this book.
I was looking for a book that would satisfy my craving for more of Lindsay Sands vampire series when I read this book. It filled the bill and I can’t wait to read the next in this series.
This was a fun read with plenty of action and some sexy time. Faith was Enhanced and her sister Grace is also an Enhanced and also a little extra. Ronan was a fantastic character and the story was full of bad guys and lots of great secondary characters and the storyline was fun. Love these Dark Protectors. Faith came across a little dumb at times even though she was smart it didn’t make her make good decisions.
My Thoughts – 5 out of 5 Unicorns – I loved it!!!
***I choose what I read and review based on what intrigues me!! Yes, I got a review copy of this book, but no one tells me what to think, feel, or write about any book! I have started collecting this series and have 4 of the 8 so far, but haven’t gotten this book yet.
The cover is nice, but I wish the tat was there or the mating mark.
This is the 8th book in the series, but my first time reading this series. It is for adults only due to the violence and steamy content. I really want to read all of this series and the Realm series too because I think it will fill in info for me.
I don’t know this series, so I could really feel for both Ronan and Faith who were trying to figure things out because I was doing the same. I bet if I was caught up in this series it would be even better, and it is already pretty great. I love books with tons of action, and this was definitely a page turner. I loved going on this adventure with Ronan and Faith. This world is a mixed paranormal world with all sorts of species…some good and some not. I can’t wait to read more of this series and more of Rebecca’s works.
I highly recommend to anyone who love complex paranormal worlds with an assortment of species! I need more of this world and hopefully in the future Grace’s story!
Rebecca Zanetti is a goddess with the Dark Protectors. If you are reading them, don’t forget this title!!!
Yay the Dark Protectors is back!!!! This is the story of Ronan and Faith. Ronan is part of the Seven and was not supposed to show up in the time and place that he did. He was found and sent to the local hospital where he meets his mate. Dr. Faith Cooper was called into assess this special patient who baffled the local doctors. She gets the shock of her life when he awakes with fangs instead of teeth and proclaiming something about being mates. She deals with facts and science and she can’t get her mind wrapped around Ronan and his claims. She can’t even deny the feelings that he stirs up in her but doesn’t know how to deal with it at all. This is a great story full of hot moments, action, suspense. I was hooked from beginning to end. I can’t wait for the next book in the series and I would recommend it to all paranormal romance lovers. Well done!!
There is nothing better than reading a Rebecca Zanetti book. Especially her Dark Protectors series. I loved Ronan and Faith.
This book is filled with danger and human mates not listening to their Vampire mates. Stubborn heroines and alpha males. If any of this appeals to you then this is the book for you.
So great to get back to Rebecca’s series!! Loved it!
This book was so good. From page 1 it was a start to finish thrill ride. Ronan Kayrs was totally sexy and everything I have come to expect in a Kayrs male. Who is Ronan Kayrs you say? Well I’m not telling, but I can tell you that I fell madly in love with him. He was a major bad a$# warrior, a protector, at times playful and all alpha! I loved his backstory. Dr. Faith Cooper was great too. I loved how smart, and brave she was. There was also a naive side to her that didn’t want to believe there was pure evil in the world. Even though I really liked Faith I found myself at times annoyed with her rash decisions. I understood where she was coming from, but she made choices that endangered not just herself and Ronan but Garrett as well.
Ronan and Faith together were cute and at times reminded me a little of Talen and Cara. Which was cool because I love them. It was so good seeing Benny, Logan, Garrett, and Dage again. The plot was very good, and I can’t wait to see where Rebecca takes this series. My only complaint was I would have liked more of the past couples to be in this book. I was hoping to see some interaction between the new characters and the originals. I just kept waiting for some Talen time. I wanted to see how Emma, Faith, and Kane got along. I was hoping to see a little family reunion. I have high hopes that my favorites will play a bigger part in the next book. Still overall this book was great.
