This is the 6th installment in the Magic and Mystery series by Lily Webb. I really enjoy being transported to Moon Grove NC.
There’s new blood in town…
Zoe Clarke’s name is on everyone’s lips. After Zoe was elected Head Witch in an upstart campaign, Moon Grove’s paranormal populace can’t stop talking about their youngblood new leader.
But not all press is good press. The media that Zoe used to be part of is tracking her every move with a critical eye — and they aren’t alone. So when several of Zoe’s colleagues begin vanishing inexplicably, Zoe worries she’s bitten off more than she can chew.

Zoe is a strong and confident protagonist, who is still coming into her own magical self. I like the quirky characters and how we learned more about some of them such as the Counsel. There were lots of twists and turns to keep me engrossed, I can’t seem to get my hands on the books fast enough . It has become my favourite paranormal cozy series and I highly recommend this series to everyone.

I didn’t want Zoey to be head witch, like her better as a reporter, but it worked out well for this story. The vampires are something else. They will get what they want no matter who pays the price. While I didn’t like Elle in Moon Grove, I didn’t want her to leave. That actually made me sad. Hopefully, we will learn about the new magical community.

Zoe is beginning her tenure as head witch when a problem falls onto the laps of the council. How Zoe and the council attempt to deal with the problem leads to the disappearance of key personnel. This book is full of excitement and mystery. I kinda didn’t want the story to end, but it did with a twist that I did not see coming.

A vote to bring other magical beings onto the council ends up opening up a heap of problems! Council members are targeted, gargoyles are dying (WHAT?!) and Zoe is the only one with a clear enough mind to figure it out. Thank goodness for her past as a reporter and mystery solving!
This was a fast read. Very exciting and heartwarming and a bit sad/happy at the end. You’ll need to read it to see what I mean. I shed a few tears, I’ll be honest!

Zoe Clarke is the newly elected Head Witch in Moon Grove. The town wanted some new blood and new ideas to bring positive changes, which is one thing Zoe is all about. But not all things good are coming out of these changes as the vampires have also a new head. The new vampire king is working to put a powerful coalition together of all paranormal species and is demanding of Zoe and the witch council to allow them to have representation.
Zoe becomes more than a bit worried when the group presses for them to vote in favor of equal representation and then several of her colleagues begin to vanish. When grandma disappears, Zoe jumps head first in not only finding her but discovering what is going on within Moon Grove.
If you love cozy mysteries filled with paranormal beings and encounters, magic, murder mysteries, suspense, interesting characters, and a story-line that keeps you captivated, then this a series you will want to read.

This was a great read where you were thinking all the time who might be behind the disappearances and you are jumping from person to person trying to work it out. Bring other paranormals onto the council has reared it’s head again and is the first bug issues as Head Witch Zoe has had to handle and we get to see how she handles things especially as there is much more riding on her keeping safe seeing as you know .. well .. with what happened to the last Head Witch!! The ending is great but oh so bitter sweet and I really hope Zoe doesn’t become a stranger to those who originally welcomed her to Moon Grove.

Book 5 saw Zoe elected as Head Witch of Moon Cove. Now she has to live up to the title and find solutions to political unrest in the paranormal community as well as figuring out who makes witches vanish. It becomes urgent, when her own grandmother is one of the victims. Zoe is at it again, but with more enemies and still quite a few friends around.
A fun read, quite entertaining and funny.

Paranormal community wants on the council. Zoe is adjusting to her new role as Head Witch, and her former job on the newspaper has a new reporter. As the Council thinks about this proposition, members start to disappear. Why?
I knew who did it and the new guy’s smell being off, but not why. Can you figure it out before Zoe does?
I love that all the books in this series start with a little reminder of what happened in previous book. It takes me right back into Zoe’s world really fast. Thank you.
Really quick fast and enjoyable read. I missed her magic learning like in previous books; also her friends did not have as much to say in this book. I missed them
This is my honest and freely given review. I did receive an ARC book.
Now the elected HEAD Witch, Zoe is now ready for her first official Moon Grove’s town meeting, but Zoe is not the only new official in town, the meeting is interrupted by the new head vampire with a werewolf entourage, asking (demanding) that the Town’;s other paranormals have place on the Town Council. It is decided their will be a vote of the council.
The vampires have abolished their monarchy and now have an elected head vampire who is a new citizen to Moon Grove, another new pale face is the vampire hot shot journalist who has replaced Zoe at the newspaper, who is keen to interview HER (how the tables have turned, Zoe is so used to doing the interviews not being the interviewee!
Amongst, Interviews and meeting her boyfriend Beau’s parents, Zoe feels like she does not have a moment to herself, then in the run-up to the critical vote, a member of the council goes missing! Whilst investigating, so does another, then it gets really personal when her beloved Grandma is the next to go missing,. Zoe is chasing all over town trying to find the critical clue that will return them unharmed,..
This is another strong entry into the Magic & Mystery series, I love each of these characters and though we may not see as many of them in this one as the prior books, we do say goodbye to one beloved character, I can not tell you the tears I cried! But isn’t that the sign of a good author, Lily Webb can make me laugh like a Hyena and cry like a baby and feel every other emotion in between!
Once I start reading a new book in this series I cannot put it down, I keep going till the end.
If you are a lover of cozy paranormal mysteries, you cannot go wrong with this series, The Who Done it is never as obvious as you think it is, the mystery is always clever and the magic always well.. magic!
There is nothing wrong in reading this book as a standalone, it will make sense, but reading it as part of the series really brings the town of Moon Cove to life and all the characters back stories make them more fully rounded it also helps you understand Zoe and her friends.
(If you haven’t already read the earlier books, now is a great time to do so as of writing this Sept 2019 books 1-3 are in one bumper box set “Magic and Mystery: Paranormal Cozy Mystery Bundle” and are at an amazing price!

Zoe won the election and is the new head witch of Moon Grove. Just when you think she’s finally going to catch a break council members start disappearing. Now Zoe needs to put her investigative journalist skills to work again and find out what’s going on. Vampires and Vanishings is book six and a great addition to the Magic & Mystery series.
I can’t get enough of this series. Each book just gets better. After Zoe Clarke is appointed head witch, it’s up to the council to vote on having representation from each group on board. Council members are disappearing one at a time. Can Zoe find out who is kidnapping them before she gets kidnapped too? Zoe begins her new job as Head Witch with a bang. But when trouble comes, she doesn’t hesitate to jump all over it. I enjoy visiting Moon Grove and watching it evolve over the course of the series. As usual, it’s a good solid story that held my attention all the way until the end with characters who are by now comfortable and familiar. I look forward to the next book.

Moon Grove has a new Head Witch
In this book, we see Zoe filling her position as the new Head Witch of Moon Grove. She is a little nervous at the first meeting, and even though she doesn’t realize it at the time, she has every reason to be. The meeting is interrupted by the newly elected vampire president and several other paranormals, who are demanding a position on the council to represent their own kinds. They gave the council a week to vote on agreeing or disagreeing, or else. A week later, the meeting again is delayed due to one of the council members disappearing, and this is just the beginning. I love Grandma and Luna, they are such a hoot. This was another great book by Lily Webb and the story is starting to get very interesting.

Now that Zoe Clarke has beaten out some of the most powerful political families in Moon Grove by winning the election for Head Witch, one of the town’s highest positions, she is facing even more resistance from those who want to see her fail. After a couple of people at the meeting congratulated her, Heath Highmore, the Head Warlock, called the special meeting to order. He told them the vampires had reorganized and their newest leader is Julien Delroy. The other council members looked concerned, but Zoe didn’t know him. Where they used to have a monarchy, the vampires abolished that and Julien Delroy was their first President – whose first act was to demand the Council be expanded to include other community representatives from every paranormal species in town. Before they could vote on how to handle this, the guard at the door said that Mr. Delroy and his friends were there to address the Council! In an arrogant tone, he gave them one week to vote on expanding the Council, and Heath agreed because Julien had already told the people the vote would be taken by then.
Grandma Elle, Zoe’s secretary in her new position, told her the Moon Grove Messenger called and the reporter who replaced her wanted an interview with her. He was enthusiastic and easy to talk to. Then Zoe headed out for dinner with Beau and his parents, with her gargoyle guard stomping along behind her.
When the Council was getting seated for the vote on the paranormal communities, Zoe noticed Dawn still wasn’t there. When Dawn’s husband ran into the room to talk to Heath and Zoe, he told them Dawn had been missing since that morning and he just assumed she went into work early. Zoe suggested someone may be trying to affect the vote by preventing Dawn from voting, even though protocol said the entire Council had to be present before a vote could be taken. Zoey had to get to the bottom of this – especially since Dawn was not the only one to disappear! The entire Council could be in danger!
This was a fast-paced, intriguing story line, twisting one way and then the other! Who is responsible for the disappearances? Can Zoey track down the culprit in time? Grab your copy and follow along as she examines the clues and finds out who is lying!
Zoe’s position on Moon Grove’s Council is secure, but politics and community relations heat up as a council member disappears, and even Grandma is at risk. Vampires and Vanishings is an exciting novel that I enjoyed.

Head Witch
The saga of Zoe Clarke takes back up with her after she wins the seat on the Witches counsel. Life is never boring when reading the latest happenings involving the village of Moon Grove.
Luna is still as snarky, Grandma is still a sweet heart, Beau has been keeping a secret and the town will face great change.
This book took a more serious and sinister turn but it was really great reading to the end.

Zoe has a steep learning curve as the new Head Witch – and things seem to heat up even more. A possible expansion of the Council seems a good and likely thing. A lot of scary power struggles are not far under the surface, and now boil up.
Destruction of s few near indestructible gargoyles and a few missing Council members are barely the tip of the iceberg.
Change rolls on.
