I am Evie Everheart. As a Life’s Blood Carrier, I am pursued by all vampires who want to become All Powerful or to become human again. Which is practically ALL vampires. Basically, I’m screwed. Then I meet him, the Vampire Samurai and his band of brothers, consisting of another vampire, a fae, and a shifter. What they want of me, I’ve yet to find out.Friend or foe? I don’t know. But as a carrier, … don’t know. But as a carrier, all I know is that I must do everything I can to keep the vampires from getting my blood or humanity as we know it, would end.

This was one crazy journey. Kailin is my go-to for paranormal. She writes them beautifully. It’s hard for me to get into pnr now. Her stories are one of the exceptions. There’s a certain aspect to them that I’m looking for and Kailin meets all of my expectations. I feel this story had a little bit of everything.
I received a copy of this book for a fair and honest review. I read the PULSE books years ago. It was good to be back in that world. I love Evie and the Samurais. I have to say of the four Soru and Kai are my favorites, but it is only the first book. It is about Evie going to Japan to stay with her Aunt to learn more about her mother who she never got to know and her father would tell her very little. Her Aunt owns a ramen shop and that is where all things change. She discovers things about herself and she has to come terms with her new world. I love how she got to have time with each of the guys. It made for a good foundation for all of their relationships. I had not been ready for ending. I need the next one and fast.
Another great book by this author that had me reading until the end in one shot. I absolutely couldn’t put it down until I was done. She take us a one crazy journey in this book and you can so relate to the characters. I cant wait for book 2.
Whilst visiting her aunt in Japan Evie (FMC) discovers a world that she’s ill prepared for. One full of Vampires, Fae and Shifters. Also discovering that she is part of a prophesy and very valuable to Vampires. Making her a hot commodity for them and putting her in danger. With the help of a mixed band of samurai (Haru, Kai, Soru and Reo) who have offered to help her she tries to get prepared for what is coming. I really like Evie’s character. She’s level headed, strong willed but still witty and funny even with everything going on around her. I don’t think I’ve read enough about the guys to work them out yet but what I have read I like. I’ll keep my opinion of them until I’ve read the next book and with that cliffhanger ending I can’t wait for that. A pretty good start though and I enjoyed reading it
Absolutely loved this book. I cant wait for the next book. Anything by kailin is amazing. Like with every book she writes I couldn’t put it down.
A new series by Kailin Gow and it starts of great. So we two vampires, shifter, and a fae who band together to protect the life blood carrier. Haru, Kai, Saro, and Reo have been together for a long time and then they meet Evie and everything changes. Evie is special and this may pose a problem. However she is attracted to the guys. The dynamic with these five is different and I am really interested to see how that changes. As you read you will understand what I am talking about. It does get steamy at times as well. I really liked this story. It does end with a cliffy.
I have been looking forward to this book since the author first mentioned it and it was better than I ever expected. I was sucked in pretty fast. The FMC is very special and in certain circles highly prized. Luck lands her catching the eye of 4 men sworn to old values and to protect the world. Life starts to become a blur of work, training, and getting to know the culture(and the guys). I can not wait for book 2!
i really loved Vampire Samurai alot. It is so unique. Evie the main female is a Life Blood Carrier a person who can turn vampire’s back into human or make them all powerful. She meets Haru, a Japanese Prince and Samurai, who was turned into a vampire just days before his wedding and his brother Kai whom he had to change, Soru a fae and Reo a shifter all banded together to protect tje Life Blood Carrier never really knowing they would meet her but then they did and boy is this book exciting i love the Japanese in it and the lore
absolutely epic!!
Good start to the series. When I started the book it was like wow. I didn’t want to put it down. Trip to her Aunts house is where it all starts. Can’t wait for book 2 and to see how the characters develop through the series.
While the storyline was interesting the story itself felt lacking at times and skipped over. There are a couple of scenes that start but then next thing you know it is the next day or a couple of days later. We don’t get to see the full picture. While that is fine here and there it makes the story fill missing when it is most of dramatic/action scenes that are skipped over. I did enjoy the character development and think they have a lot of potential. The story does end in a cliffhanger as well as again before the ending the scene started and skipped ahead so we are not fully sure how we got to that point. The story has major potential and in my opinion it could be an excellent story. I love the idea of the storyline and it’s uniqueness.
