I’m the first Vampire human hybrid. Someday I will reclaim my father’s throne. Until then, I’m stuck in freaking high school. No one knows I survived the attack on my royal family all those years ago. I owe my life to my guardians, two ancient Vampires who would give their lives to protect me. I might have unspeakable powers of night, but right now? I need to pass AP calc, make a couple of … need to pass AP calc, make a couple of friends, and try not to drink the sweet, young blood of my classmates. Being in hiding means pretending I’m a nice, normal, human teenage girl, and that’s the hardest part. I couldn’t be less interested in football games and prom dates.
Enter Dylan.
Dylan’s got gorgeous blue eyes, the body of an underwear model, and a laugh that turns my insides to mushy goo. He makes me want to be normal, to stick around this town for longer than a few months.
The craziest part? Dylan means that staying hidden is the last thing I want to do. He makes me want to go to prom. Prom!
So here I am, teenage Vampire Princess and cheerleader, pompoms and all. Trying not to drink my boyfriend like a juice box. Young love is complicated, amirite?

When the traitors came for her at dawn, they had no idea she was different from a normal vampire, being a hybrid. They also didn’t know about her strength and the ability to conjure fire. As they killed everyone they came across, and finally found her, she left a smoldering pile of bodies in front of her and her father’s trusted advisor Caleb found her and took her to safety. No one knew she had survived. Her father was kept captive in a dungeon, weak and starved. But she was hidden in broad daylight and got stronger every day until she reached her 18th birthday and it was time to take back the Castle of Night and save her father.
As she approached her newest high school, she recited the names of the traitors she would painfully destroy one day: Allernon, Jezebel, Dartanian, Bezender. These four had overthrown her father’s kingdom. Her own name was never to be spoken in public: Sasha Katherine Uzeliac. Instead, she rotated through a list of new names at every new school she registered in. Uh, what was it this time? A gorgeous boy was introducing himself to her and she couldn’t think. He flirted with her and ignored her attempts to brush him off. A boyfriend would definitely complicate things – in more ways than she knows.
Life is about to get interesting for Sophie Wallace/Sasha. Her best friend as well as the guy she starts to care about are odd enough, seemingly resistant to her glamour and giving her bursts of power. But then she meets rogue vampire, Maxim, and things get even more complicated. Her enemies are getting closer. Is she ready to abandon everyone and run again? Will she escape in time, or will this be where she has to make her stand?
I adored the humor and snarky attitude in this book that made it a fun, enjoyable read. The characters are well defined and oh so likable. The vampires who were Sophie/Sasha’s guardians felt like family by the time they were introduced to the reader! The twists and turns keep things exciting and the reader will love the surprises along the way! Definitely recommended! This book was well done!
Fantastic story and I loved it. Got to the end and wailed. Oh no, where’s the rest of it? Sophie the vampire princess and Dylan, the gorgeous boy she met at her new school. Her guardians Caleb and Bernard. And then Maxim enters the picture and stirs up a heap of trouble. I want the next book now!!
This book was different than I expected in a good way. I thought it was original and well written ! Sasha the main character was exactly what u would expect of an awkward teenager complete with mood swings and cravings except her cravings are of. Different variety. I really enjoyed this book. It had plenty of complex relationships which I enjoyed. I’m looking forward to reading the next book in this trilogy!

I really freaking loved this book! Sasha is on the run with her two guardians. If being a teenager and high school isn’t hard enough try being a vampire human hybrid princess. After nameless amounts of towns and schools, something was different when she got to her new high school in yet another town. She met Dylan who with his bright blue eyes is something from a dream, only there is something different about him. With the weight of her future on her shoulders, you know save her dad and run a kingdom, she longs to be a normal human teenager. So so makes friends for the first time, picks up pom poms, and even prepares for prom! I will most certainly be hunting down book two, and devouring it as fast as this one.
Fun young adult story. There is action and a smidge of passion. It ended not really on a cliffhanger, buy book two is a must read to get the full story. I liked it but wanted a bit more in the supernatural story line and less in the high school story line. I will be reading book two, and routing for Max!!
Although I do hate cliffhangers and it didn’t make sense for them to just stay put for the whole school year, this was a terrific book full of wonderful characters, and I can’t wait to read the rest of the story. Trust, friendship, dedication, self-control, temptation, belonging, determination, and hope are some of the undercurrents in this tale about Sasha and her quest to save her father and the world and perhaps a few friendships along the way.
I received a free copy of this book, but that did not affect my review.
This was another great book by Cameron Drake.

Book Review
Title: Vampire Princess
Author: Cameron Drake
Genre: Paranormal/Romance
Rating: ***
Review: The prologue of Vampire Princess was great, we are introduced to Princess Sasha whose family was attacked when she was a child and mostly destroyed but Sasha is special as she is a human/vampire hybrid with extraordinary powers who was rescued and kept hidden by her father’s advisor Caleb who has become her guardian. In order to keep her safe Sasha must act like a normal human teenage which means going to high school. We learn that Sasha is kept hidden by Caleb and Bernard until they had enough followers and Sasha has mastered her powers when they will take back their Kingdom. However, as she has to attend school in the meantime, she has strict rules not to make friends as they have to move around a lot. But when Sasha meets Dylan and Karen, she knows it is going to be difficult as Karen would be an amazing friend and I can already see she is going to fall in love with Dylan.
As we approach the ¼ mark in the novel, Sasha IS taking risks not only with her life but the lives of others. However, when it is revealed that the new rules have captured a psychic who can tell them that Sasha is alive and well but not much more because she is loyal to the King and Sasha, they are done running and decide to step up Sasha’s training so if their enemies come knocking, she is prepared for the war that is to come in order to reclaim her home. Sasha seems to developing quite the life for herself considering she now has a boyfriend, friends and is on the cheer squad at school.
As we approach the halfway mark in the novel, we see that Sasha’s powers are growing at an incredible rate and she even starts developing some rare gifts, but these come with a increased thirst for blood which makes being around Dylan for long periods of time impossible. We also have a love triangle set up as Sasha is dating Dylan and yet it is pointed out that Maxim would be a great potential husband for the Princess. However, the only thing driving Sasha right now is the desire to save her father but according to spies he may be beyond saving at this point.
As we cross into the second half of the novel, the focus has shifted to Dylan and Sasha’s relationship and to Sasha new powers. Some of her new powers seem relatively harmless while others are so dangerous that they could kill any vampire that even comes close to her. She charges ahead though determined not to tell Dylan anything true about her, but she does get him to meet one of her “uncles” to set his mind at ease after meeting Maxim who definitely has a thing for Sasha and may even end up becoming the main love interest later on in the trilogy.
As we approach the ¾ mark in the novel, Sasha tells Caleb and Bernard that Dylan can’t be glamoured and they believe he is descendent from the Fae that lived in the area long ago. At a barbeque this comes to light when Karen reveals that she is a Fae and that she knows Sasha is a vampire, but they make a deal Karen who say anything about what and who Sasha is if she breaks it off with Dylan and this breaks both their hearts, but it needed to be done.
As we cross into the final section of the novel, this is set six months after the breakup with Sasha getting ready for prom and she is going with Maxim as her date although he is acting more of a bodyguard than a date. We can see that Sasha deeply misses both Karen and Dylan and wants everything to go back to the way it was especially since Dylan hasn’t given up on getting her back even though it has been months. In the end, I found the pace and plot to be really slow until the other vampires turn up on the scene and Sasha’s secret is discovered but it was a quick and interesting paranormal romance and I will be reading books 2 & 3 very soon.
Vampire Princess

Such an interesting read! I wasn’t crazy about the some of the more exaggerated teenage lingo at first, but soon the plot picked up, and I found I didn’t mind any more as I was drawn into the story! I loved the characters, and all the emotions in this one! I was never quite sure who’s side I was on as I enjoyed many of the characters, and and couldn’t pick a favorite. Well written, and I highly recommend having the next book on hand, or easy to get, when reading this!

Interesting story… but left hanging
hmm, mixed feelings here. it was really interesting at the beginning. I hate love-triangles, for sure a YA since they all seem to be love-triangles. The heroine is unique though in the genre, in that she is extremely confident in herself. Most heroines are clumsy, and have tons of self doubt and angst and can’t really see what the guy finds so great about her, etc. Not this one. She’s great, and she knows it. She is super impressed with herself. Sure she’s impressive, but this girl certainly has the ego of a queen, even if she isn’t one yet.
Love-triangle aside, is it worth reading the next one? I’d say yes.

This is a great story about a hybrid pri, born of a mortal mother and a vampire father. This just doesn’t happen! As a hybrid vampire, her powers are magnified. This helps her escape the evil vampires swarming the castle killing everyone in their path to dethrone her family. They captured the king but, not the young child Princess Sasha Katherine Uzeliac, known to us as “Sophie” in this book. I loved reading this book as it mixes in the typical teenage angst, with that of a hybrid vampire princess hiding in a typical in high school. Her father’s trusted adviser keeps her safe by moving, changing schools, and changing her name frequently. This is the first high school that she feels comfortable in and wants to stay longer. Can you see a vampire as a cheerleader at football games? In comes Dylan, the all American star football. Then she meets Maxim, the drop dead gorgeous young vampire, roaring in on a motorcycle. Did I mention typical teenage angst? If you read this book, you won’t go wrong!

This book ticks most of the boxes , Vampire hybrid princess in hiding with extraordinary powers determined to take back her throne & avenge her father , great characters , great story line only couple of nit picky negatives in that the high school vampire has been done before & the list of names Sophie/Sasha keeps reciting is straight out of Game of Thrones but that said i really enjoyed this book & will happily move on to the next as i’m a need to know what happens next kind of reader
The start of an exciting new series. A vampire romance perfect for the YA reader and anyone who loves teenagers in love. Sophie/Sasha is a vampire princess in hiding for twelve years since she was five when her father the king was overthrown and imprisoned. She has been training with her guardians for the day she and her allies will take back her throne. She would like to live a normal teen life with her human boyfriend Dylan, be a cheerleader, have fun times with her friends and go to prom. But it’s not easy when you are being hunted by your own kind. Oh yes and Sophie has awesome powers she is still learning to control. Poor little sweetheart is in for some heartache when trouble comes calling. I am so enjoying this book!
