The man was “Oh God I wanna have your baby” good in bed and now… well… she’s gonna have his baby and he’s nowhere in sight. After one passionate night, witch Iris Holloway is left with more than just the memory of the sexiest vampire she’d ever met–she’s pregnant. And the little bladder squasher inside her belly seems to take great joy in reminding her of its presence at the most inopportune … the most inopportune moments. Like when she’s sitting in judgment over another witch in her job as an Othercross Sentinel. It’s hard to focus on justice when a gal’s gotta pee.
It’s also hard to focus when when the baby’s vampire Master father shows up at her work after seven long months, trying to claim her as his Beloved. Ridiculous! If they were truly fated for each other, he never would have left her. The smoking hot vamp is just jealous that Iris has moved on and found a guy who will stick around for more than just one night.
Right?

Rafe thought he was doing the right thing by giving Iris space before he returned to claim her. He didn’t know that she was suffering as much as he was by being separated. When he finds out she’s pregnant, all that changes.
Iris thought she would never see Rafe again and was considering her options about her and her baby’s future when he returns. Now she has to decide between her Resonate and the man who has asked her to be his Mate. Could she forgive Rafe for leaving her and give him a chance or would she marry a man she didn’t love?
Good story. I thought it was a bit rude of Rafe to leave with out talking to Iris. When he found out about the baby he ran back to her. That was good. I enjoyed the story very much. I received a complimentary review copy of the book and I am voluntarily leaving a honest review.
The second book in the series brings Iris and Rafe’s story. The authors did a great job bringing strong, well developed characters and an interesting story line. They pull you in with all the drama, danger, suspense and twists and turns as well as the sizzling passion and romance. It’s an action packed story with tons of emotions and is brought to life with detailed and vividly painted scenes. I loved this book/series.
I voluntarily reviewed an ARC of this book. All opinions in this review are my own and freely given.
Once again this is a very short read, but you have to read the bonus scene to complete the story. Iris is a very strong witch who has found herself single and pregnant. Her one night stand with Rafe, a master vampire has left her that way. Little does Ivy know that he left her so she had a chance at a normal life. Not knowing that she was his beloved and he was just giving her time before she spent eternity with him. That was until he found out she was pregnant. I really liked the bit of comedy in this book, a master vampire trying to make a sandwich was something. Iris and Rafe need to find a way to make this work, mot to mention a wolf shifter ready to step in and take his place.
Great addition to the series.
This was another great addition to the series. It was a delightful story with wonderful characters. I can’t wait to read the next book.
Enjoyable and entertaining
Another fantastic addition to the series!!! My only issued was that I wanted it to be longer. I really enjoyed Rafe and Iris story too but I would’ve like to know more about them like how they met. Overall a enjoyable and entertaining read. Looking forward to reading the next book in the series.
Short but sweet story. Love the author. The characters and writing kept my interest. I am voluntarily reviewing an ARC gifted by the author with no obligation
Rafe knows that Iris is his Beloved, but being a tad (think a couple of centuries at least) older he wants her to grow and find herself before shackling herself to him. He assigned someone to watch over her but didn’t want to know what she was doing as it would be too much temptation. So he’s going to have a bit of a bombshell explode when he finds out!
Iris is a witch and a powerful one at that. She thought she meant more to Rafe than a one-and-done but it seems she was wrong. Sure, he sent a minion to look after her but that’s different than caring about her and wanting to do it himself. But when Rafe finds out he’s a father to be, has he left it too late cos a shifter is willing to be his baby’s father is he doesn’t get his crap together!
Rafe is all sorts of possessive but so used to making decisions he forgets to include Iris in them! That is not the act of a partner! Iris has a great way of dealing with the men in her life and I just wanted her to make Rage sweat a little longer!
Well worth reading!
I really liked Iris. She was powerful, funny, super smart and knew how to make the men around her heel. I didn’t feel so much sympathy for Rafe. Sure he was suave and handsome, powerful in his own right. Yet, not only has he left Iris once, he didn’t want to know what was happening in her life. Then he comes back in to be all alpha and controlling. It’s a good thing they were fated for each other. I did enjoy the book, it was a quick read with plenty of scenes with Iris, Rafe and other supporting characters. I hope those characters also get some happiness soon, especially Brodie.
The second story in Othercross was Iris and Rafe. This was a cute continuation. I could have used a little more world building to know how vampires make babies and some of the a next moments had me worried how a pregnant women could do that but still a fun quick read. I think one of the best things about this story is the secondary characters. We see Kelly again and Brodie so needs his own HEA. Yet, neither of them are the next book. I’ll just have to keep reading (grin). I voluntarily reviewed an advance copy of this book.
Iris is pregnant and abandoned by the father but Rafe just thought he was giving her time in this tale of crossed signals and Alpha vampire goodness. I freely reviewed this book.
Iris Holloway is pregnant. Like seven months pregnant with no Beloved in sight.
Nope. He ghosted.
Rafe ghosted on Iris, making all the decisions for her and only found out she was super pregnant and shows up all dictatorory.
Can he make up for ghosting on her for no reason?
I liked Iris and I liked that this continued the vampire legal system.
Recommend.
A fast and fun add to the series! Loved the chemistry between Iris and Rafe which sizzled from the start. I enjoyed the storyline and the likable characters that made for an entertaining read. Can’t wait for the next book in this series that doesn’t disappoint.
I enjoyed reading this book, the interaction and chemistry between the characters is great, the storyline is entertaining and filled with action and intrigue. I can’t wait for more from this author. I received this book as a FREE ARC copy to read and I voluntarily leave this review.
Iris was a real witch! I think she just tried to be obstinate, and she was. Rafe worshipped her and tried to give her time for herself and to grow and experience the world. She thought he ghosted her. Wait-it’s a two way street. Why didn’t she seek him out? She’s more guilty because she held a secret baby- his!!! Iris’s rage was unfounded and uncalled for, and because she was part of the problem (not looking for Rafe)!! Finally, in the last chapter, Iris partially redeems herself when she admits to Brody that she and Rafe are mates!!! Iris was a bit too full of herself for my liking.
I voluntarily offered to review this book with no obligations and my opinions are honest!
This was a great book !
Iris got more than she bargained for from her one night stand.
It is evident by the amount of time, she has to go to the bathroom.
Someone keeps squashing her bladder.
Now, he is back.
Can he win her back ?
Will Iris give him another chance ?
Loved the characters + the storytelling !
It has all the ingredients that you need for a great book!
I can’t wait for the next book in this series.
Good story, loved the heroine! I enjoyed reading this story, it was sweet and held my interest throughout. I was not a fan of Rafe, the Vampire Master, how he just decided to walk away but then wanted to come back like he never left. I thought Iris was amazingly written as an independent woman in control of her life and circumstances, but, and I have rewritten this like 4 times because I don’t want to post spoilers, she is considering making some weak decisions. The story had me hooked though, it’s short but packed with interesting points that will keep you reading to the end.
Next time ask
These ladies sure know how to throw in the humor with the emotions. For example the pet name Iris has for her baby, too funny and yet so true. I love that these two get their HEA, but she probably should have strung him along a little more, you know just to get her point across. This book is a super fast read that you will enjoy from the very beginning. I look forward to the next book and I hope we get to see what the baby is in it.
If you are looking for a great read that will make you laugh and swoon, look no further. Iris is one feisty witch and will make Rafe work for her forgiveness. As a 900 year old vampire Master, Rafe is used to getting his way. The banter between them will leave you laughing out loud. Oh, let’s not forget the interaction between Iris and the “little bladder squasher”….any mom will relate. I’m absolutely loving this new series!
