That doggone ending is a buzz kill (in a good way). The chemistry between these two is clear. What we are only getting glimpse of are the people behind the story. This author teases us with glimpse into Abigail’s past and the reason she is now working for the CEO. We also know that there is real sizzling chemistry but a reason why she wont act on it. Great beginning that leaves you wanting more and wondering of the direction the story is leading in. Can’t wait to continue. Hurry please!!
Abigail is the daughter of of witches High Priestess and she’s been banished by her coven for using dark magic. It’s like a drug for witches and addictive. She is trying to redeem herself and get her life back on track. She takes a job as a secretary for the CEO of a pharmaceutical company, who just happens to be a vampire. She is leary of him and considers finding another job but just can’t. She is also afraid of the dark power in her but Sebastian will be the answer to her struggles. This was a great book that I finished in an afternoon.

LOVING
There aren’t alot of really good roamntic vampires out there, this one is tolerable, quick read.
This was a good read. It took awhile to warm up to Abigail. There were timed I liked her but there were times I just wanted to smack her.
This was a good vampire read. I enjoyed the overall story and the flow of the events in the story. It was well written and I liked how the characters grew and changed throughout the story. I look forward to reading other books by this author.
*I received a free copy of this book which I voluntarily chose to write an honest review for.
So the premise for this book is good and I was liking the characters which is a great set-up. The problem was that as the story keeps moving I just kept felling blah which is awful when reading about vampires, magic, secrets, and more. I think it just took a while to really get going but then it was flowing better by the end which gives me high hopes for book two. So while I like Bedford’s writing and style I can only give this one 3/5 stars since I liked it but that’s it.
Abigail was banished from her coven for making dark choices and putting her community in jeopardy, now going cold turkey on magic she gets a mundane job, as a secrety for a powerful CEO, too bad he’s a vamp so she’s not that out of the super community as she thought. It was cool seeing how Abbie dealt with her mistakes, trying to come to terms with her magic addiction and learning that not all vampires are bad. I’m biased when it comes to Bedford’s books though, they always excel and every character has something different about them.

Paranormal romance with a twist cause it has two of my favorite things to read about in a story a witch and a vampire. I loved reading this story cause it felt like a movie in my head instead of reading story. I love when an author can do that or make it feel like your a living it instead of reading it. I can not wait to see what happens in the next book. I highly recommend this story to all who love vampires and witches.

The first book in the New Orleans After Dark series and I will be looking for more, a well-written story that kept my interest throughout. I received a copy of this book via Booksprout and I also bought the book.
Abigail is a witch kicked out of her coven due to some really bad things she did so now sh is trying to live like a human therefor she needs a job, she gets one but her boss makes her all tingly if you know what I mean, but there is also something else about him oh yeah he is a Vampire. Abigail and Sebastian dance around the fact they are both attracted to each other and do a terrible job of it I must say lol, I get where Abigail is coming from after her Mum’s warning but you want who you want. This is a great read about listening to what you want and not what others want as well as believing in yourself and that you can get the super hot guy if you really want him 😉

At twenty-two, Abigail was the daughter of the High Priestess of the New Orleans coven. All Abigail knew how to do was spells and potions. When her mother did an intervention for Abigail, it resulted in Abigail getting expelled from the coven. She did not know how to control her use of magic. Her mother told her if she did not curb her use it would eventually overtake her life. Abigail was full force using dark magic that when used, would take someone’s life away. She was a junkie that got high off of taking someone’s life force. That was before her mother intervened. It took months for her mother to detox Abigail’s soul and the urge never left her. No longer part of the coven, she was living in the human world, she had to get a paying job. She had to pay for her rent, food and clothes to buy. She applied for a job as a secretary at Midnight Pharmaceutical and inadvertently got the job assigned to the CEO. When Abigail meets Sebastian Storm, she goes all gaga all over him and starts having childish fantasies about him. Which she had to put to an end. But she could not help herself when he was around. She blamed it on the year long abstinence she was going through. This was the beginning of their professional and personal relationship. Abigail’s temper was hindering her relationship with Sebastian. She had a habit of jumping to conclusions. Also her mother became severely ill and the doctors said there was no hope. Abigail’s mother had become ill because of the energy expended trying to cleanse her of the dark magic. Abigail had to decide if she would take her mother’s place as high priestess while she was ill. Thank goodness Sebastian had an extraordinary amount of patience with Abigail. Not that he did not get upset, but he controlled himself. This was a simple read, moderately paced and full of drama. What to get if you put a vampire CEO together with a witch? A fantastic steamy paranormal romance that will hook you fromThe first chapter! The witch Abigail has been turfed out of her coven and is trying to get a job to support herself in what turns out to ba a company run by a vampire and normally witches and vampires not new really mix well! I loved the dynamic of this story, the wit and humour but also the anticipation as to wether or not they get their HEA! A fab read!
This was such an awesome story. It was not your usual vampire story, which made it all the better. This book is the perfect way to spend a couple of hours. I voluntarily read and reviewed this book in exchange for a free copy.
Abigail Bouchard is waiting to interview at a pharmaceutical company. She has an 8 pm appt. which she thought was strange, but even more so now is how busy the place is at this time of night. Shes interviewing for a secretarial position, but as she has no qualifications she had to use a persuasion spell to get an interview. Then she gets hired for secretary to the CEO Sabastion Storm. He is a vampire and owner of Midnight Pharmaceutical. Abigail is a witch who will run the coven after her mother Bianca (who is the High Priestess) passes it to her. Abigail has got some terrifying powers that she got from a voodoo book. So she has to fight the dark side of her constantly. This book picks up a lot after after you see Abigail use her powers also she sees a close one to her that’s dying. Her relationship with Sebastian has it’s up and down, but it ends up in a happy ever after ending.

The call of witch’s blood…
The call of witch’s blood is like a siren’s call to a vampire. So, when Abigail realizes who/what her new boss she knows she has to make sure he doesn’t find out her secret. With an attraction like theirs, keeping that secret from Sebastian will be hard. I read this book originally when it was a three part serial. Having it all in one story is wonderful.

This is the first book in the series and I really enjoyed it and am looking forward to reading the rest of the series. If you enjoy a good paranormal romance then you should give Abigail and Sebastian’s story a go these two should not have worked together but they were perfect for each other this was a good paranormal office romance and I enjoyed it
The sex is a little overdone and abrupt. What did she do that her mother had to ‘save’ her? Better background material would help this scenario.
Great start to a series. She has been thrown out of her coven because of not doing what she is supposed to. So in the human world she needs a job. She buys something to get one. But she goes to work at night for a vampire. Things only get interesting from there. It is exciting, fun, suspenseful, emotional, hot and so much more. An edge of your seat attention taking well written read. I was given a review copy by booksprout and voluntarily review it.
