A human woman, a tail-sporting alien, and a deadly hurricane… of course they’re going to hook up! Or rather, they did hook up. But that was then. This is now.As a marine biologist, Maris Xayer is used to observing all types of marine life, but she never imagined she’d come face to tail with an Ujal. In the middle of a hurricane, Maris and Vados came together—ahem—and then he disappeared. She … disappeared. She figured it was a one-storm stand with an Ujal and moved on. Except Vados hadn’t really gone anywhere and now the sexy as sin, red-skinned Ujal is back. For her.

Vados is listed as book one in The Ujal series by Celia Kyle as Erin Tate.
I have to say I feel like I’m missing a book or novella or something. These two hooked up during a hurricane, but when we start, Vados, they are apart.
Maris is in trouble and is a friend of the Ujal, so their prince sends two of his best men to protect her and it turns out one is Vados, the man or Ujal she hooked up with.
This story is only 37 pages and you can only do so much. It’s insta mate romance. Unfortunately, I didn’t connect to Maris or Vados or this story. I felt no love. No connection between them even thou the author was saying they have it. Their is lust and sex, but to be honest I wasn’t even feeling that. It was just words on a page.
Now I did find the Ujal interesting. I enjoyed what little information we got on them. I just would have liked more, but it’s a start.
Vados was not the book for me. It was lacking in everything and needed more to it. If the blurb intrigues you, I urge you to give it a shot. Just because it did not work for me does not mean it won’t for you.

Finding the family he always dreamed of
What a fantastic first book in a series. I especially enjoyed the doctor and his sense of humor. These Ujal are the perfect possessive alpha males, I’m sure their lady loves probably don’t always agree, but as an avid reader I want to read more. More HEAs, more love, more joy and more humor. I’m looking forward to the next book.
A cute novella, this is a really fast read, just 5 chapters, but it has a quick introduction to the series, some sweet characters and the beginnings of the conflicts that will develop further in the series. It was fun to read, and I was able to read it during my lunch break!
I enjoyed this novella which is one of the first alien romances I have ever read. I liked that Maris and Vados came into the story with a little history between them and the Ujal species storyline was interesting.
This is a very sweet short story. Due to the length, it feels a bit rushed in some of the situations, and I know I personally would like to know as much about their story as we get from the subsequent couples, but it is nonetheless and enjoyable read.
Maris is a little peeved when she’s stood up by a guy she’s just met and instantly connected with. Vados, the guy in question, is hurt believing Maris was the one who stood him up. This would be an easy situation to shrug off, except Maris has noted she’s experiencing odd symptoms – physical pain with contact, and not being able to stop thinking about this guy.
The two reunite and their mission is to clear the misunderstanding between them, overcome cultural differences and xenophobia from the rest of the world!
