A psychological thriller ending this series. Unbelievable how the twists and turns are unpredictable. Great plot and storyline. Relatable and realistic characters. A fast paced and action packed story. Keeps a hold of your attention and smooth flowing book.
I received an ARC copy of this book and this is my honest opinion.
Vacant Passage (Street Games Book 5), my tenth read from author L.K. Hill. Picks up where book 4 left off, like a jet fighter in flight and just gets better from there! Three pseudonyms, 3 different genres. All great, but this book captivated me the most. I’ll be reading more from this author no matter what pseudonym she writes under! I really didn’t take this long to read this book, we took a cruise & were traveling without internet to post reviews. (RIP Marley January 20, 2014 – July 24, 2018).
I know this is book 5 of the Street Games, but it is the first one I read. The characters are well drawn out and it doesn’t take me long to understand the great bond and love that Kyra has for her brother Gabe. It also shows that they will try everything to carptch the serial killer alive, this is after Gabe is emotionally shocked to find out the serial killer they have been tryin to get is his brother Dillion. Will they all survive? There is so much action with twists and turns and lots of suspense, at times I was on the edge of my seat, L.K. Hill does a wonderful job I all the books she writes. I would recommend this one part any adult over 18, not sure it is for younger people, but with the games they play, there is probably nothing that would shock them.
The final installment. We’ve been through such an ordeal in this series. It’s incredible to come out on the other side of it and see how far we’ve travelled. These characters are all amazing and the storyline was phenomenal and intricate. Truly an amazing series.
I received an ARC copy of this book and am voluntarily leaving an honest review.
This is an edge of your seat, nail chewing book. It’s the final book in the series, but having never read the books, can say that this book can stand on its own. The action, danger and suspense kept me glued to the pages to find out what happened next. The intensity of nerve-wracking writing never seems to let up till the end. It’s a very well written story with such insight into the characters that LK Hill has created. It draws you into another world with the depths of deviant personalities vs those who want to make the world a better place to live in.
Kyra works undercover in the Mire and Gabe works as a detective close by the Mire. They meet and start to have feelings for each other. Both of them have a brother in the Mire that they are trying, separately, to rescue. They face death at every turn of their searching and both lose friends along the way.
The characters are like real people in the story. There’s so much desperation among the homeless in the Mire, along with the violence experienced or perpetrated on others. No place is really safe, whether they are Mirelings, mobsters, Dillon’s followers, other citizens or the police. I absolutely loved the ending.
This isn’t just a good book. It’s an overall visceral experience that sucks you in and keeps you from thinking about anything else until you get to the end. I highly recommend this book. It’s incredibly entertaining, would make a terrific movie and is just darned good writing.
I received a free ARC of this book and purchased the ebook that will be delivered on March 10th. This is my voluntary review.
