Newly dead Bridget Sway is getting by. Barely. Between her regular job in Afterlife Arrivals, training for her second job with IA, her community service on The Bus of Death, GA meetings, taking care of her housemates and every other ghostly commitment in between, Bridget Sway is already stretched pretty thin. Then her best friend, Sabrina, drops a bombshell—she doesn’t think her death was … death was accidental. She thinks she was murdered.
Even though murdered dead people usually turn into homicidal maniac dead people, Sabrina thinks if they can work out who killed her then she might be able to get the closure she needs to escape her homicidal maniac fate.
But when Bridget trips over the first dead body, she can’t help but wonder if Sabrina’s fate is already sealed.
If you like sassy heroines who break all the rules, laugh out loud humour and whodunnits that keep you guessing until the very end, then tag along with Bridget Sway on her afterlife adventures.

I just loved this book. The characters are so much fun to read about and I love the way they wind each other up but when push comes to shove they would still do anything for each other, even break the law. I also really enjoyed the way Jordaina combines the lives of livies (people that are alive) and the ghosts. Very entertaining and funny mystery. A must read for anyone.
In this book Bridget has to find out who killed her best friend Sabrina before she goes mad and starts killing but with out the help and wisdom of P.I Sabrina Bridget turns to her housemates. With differing opinions as to who the killer is will they band together and solve the murder or will Bridget lose Sabrina for ever and have to spend the rest of life in the after life alone, well stuck with her housemates on her own.
Have you read any of the first four books? (If you haven’t you might wanna).
Quick synopsis – Afterlife, not what we assume. Dead people can die. Again.
Alive when murdered and now dead people become homicidal maniac dead and/or go crazy.
Murdered while dead and you’re doubly dead and that’s a guarantee that Bridget Sway will find your doubly dead body. End synopsis.
In this 5th Bridget Sway Afterlife Adventure, Bridget comes face to face with a homicidal maniac dead person again.
And it just might be Bridget’s ADBFF (also dead best friend forever).
Not good for Bridget and definitely not good for her ADBFF Sabrina, whom it looks like has some dead bodies on her hands.
Bridget also finds she’s kinda grown to tolerate her housemates, more than she ever thought possible.
It’s this growth and that group which gets Bridget through the trials and troubles ahead.
There’s hilarious confusion, kleptomania, hauntings, some costly for Bridget G&E (ghosting and entering) by the ferryman of the dead Charon and a hint of romantic tension.
All 5 books are fast paced, guffaw inducing reads.
But THIS is the best book in the series so far. And I. Can. Barely. Wait. for the next one.
When Bridget Sway’s best friend Sabrina realizes she thinks she was murdered, she comes to Bridget to ask for help investigating her death. Only when they barely get started, Sabrina gets put in the asylum and Bridget is forced to try and solve Sabrina’s murder on her own. In spite of help from some unlikely avenues as well as all of her housemates, Bridget can’t seem to make any progress.
Meanwhile Bridget is unbelievably busy with community service and multiple jobs besides trying to figure out Sabrina’s murder. Written with the creativity we have come to expect and love from Jordaina Sydney Robinson, this is probably the best book in the series thus far. I like the way Bridget takes care of all her housemates and learns to play nice with Oz as well. Even GB Officer Leonard seems to be helping Bridget even though I am not quite sure why he would. Even Charon stops everything to help and does more than expected
You definitely need to read the series in order, otherwise you won’t know who characters are. I like the way another mystery was introduced and then completely forgotten so that Bridget stayed on task of figuring out Sabrina’s murderer. A fun book you won’t want to miss!
Loved the newest adventure. Fast paced and fun. Bridget is hilarious.
I LOVED this book! I encourage everyone who sees this to get a copy of one of the Beyond Dead books and see for yourself if this isn’t the funniest series of books that you’ve ever read! Who knew the afterlife could be so funny!
Bridget and her housemates go about trying to find out who murdered Sabrina but even though that would be normally a serious undertaking it isn’t with these loveable characters!! The mystery is solved of course but getting there is such a hoot!
I put Jordaina right up there with Erma Bombeck! Her humor is to “die for”! Pick up one of her books and start today and within the first page or two you will be smiling and laughing and having one of the best times in your life in reading a book!
I can’t thank her enough for sharing her wonderful talent with the world and I would encourage all of you to read this or another in the series to see what I mean. I honestly can’t imagine anyone who wouldn’t like these books! I think they are absolutely terrific!
Please do yourself a favor and start today. You’ll see what I mean. You’ll be hooked on the series like her many followers are and will tell your friends to read her as well because you’ll want them to experience that same joy you have had in reading this book or another one in the series!
I gave this book a rating of 4. Mostly because the story is a first for me. I’ve never read anything quite like this book before. I’ve never seen a story about ghosts of people trying to solve crimes of other dead people and the problems of more live people. The story is interesting to say the least. These characters are strong willed. The story is funny in places, crazy in other places and genuinely quirky all around. I’ve not made up my mind about reading anything else in this type but if the story is written by this same author I know it will be awesome.
The fifth book in the Bridget Sway series starts with Sabrina in a mental institution and Bridget trying to investigate her original murder before she gets marked as crazy. It’s a twisted murder investigation where Bridget has to rely on her housemates and the original cast of characters for help. The story is hard to put down as the plot unfolds to the very end. I love Bridget and can’t wait for the next book.
Bridget has to solve how Sabrina was originally murdered with only her crazy housemates because Sabrina is locked in an insane asylum. In the afterlife if you are murdered and it isn’t solved you go crazy and until your seat is solved or you come to terms with it. This story includes all the well loved characters and a host of new ones yyou encounter as the try to solve the crime that Sabrina was trying to solve before she was murdered. That murder story is full of twist and turns of both living and ghost characters that keep you never wanting to put the book down. It’s completely engrossing and funny and best of all you never figure out who the killer or killers are until the very end its a great book and I can’t wait for the next Bridget book.
Soooooooooooooo good!
I had been waiting for this installment. Waiting to get back to that wacky afterlife Bridget and Sabrina are ‘living’. And this one was soooooooooooooo good!
Sabrina thinks she was murdered. This is yet another book full of adventure, humour, mystery, suspense! Fast paced, funny, exciting! Seriously guys, this is one of my favourite books EVER so if you haven’t read any of Ms Robinson’s books yet: WHY NOT?!?!?!? Her sense of humour is so sarcastic and dry! She strings the words together like a virtuoso. I just want to do a happy dance now!
I love how humor and murder are thrown together in this story. The way Jordaina writes this book is totally amazing! The flow of it, she never missed a beat and the characters! Oh my! The characters are simply ‘to die for’! You won’t want to stop reading this book until the end and then want more! I voluntarily reviewed a free copy of this book.
Bridget and dead bodies…she’s like a magnet! When she finds out her best friend, Sabrina, was murdered, Bridget sets off to find out who killed her so she can come to terms with it before she turns into a homicidal maniac (which is, apparently, what happens to you in the afterlife if you were murdered in real life). After rounding up her housemates as detectives, they soon find 3 more bodies connected to Sabrina’s death. As usual with this author, you’d better get your mind on straight as they all stop to discuss the latest clues. The dialog is fast paced and it leaves you spinning. Bridget’s afterlife is full of characters that have become family to her and to me, as well. I still feel like living this existence would feel like I was trapped in a hell, but at least now I would be there with family and friends! Stay tuned for more crazy as we go along for the ride.
*I was given an advanced reader copy for an honest review* (the only kind)
Another great Bridget Sway book by Jordaina Sydney Robinson. This time Bridget – and all of her housemates – have to rescue Bridget’s best friend Sabrina. I don’t want to give out any spoilers, but as is usual for Bridget, she finds help in some very unexpected places. Also as normal, madness, mayhem, and chaos ensues during this fun romp ‘on the other side’!
