Omegas were told it was for the good of the species, but Elise knew it was for the good of her government. They were selling her to the highest bidder.
Not one to fight the system, she did as she was directed. She turned herself in. She didn’t believe her life could get any worse.
When things go astray and her life turns into a nightmare, will she stick with the man that has everything she … everything she wants, or will she save the pirate that makes her burn with need?
This is a dark Sci-fi Omegaverse Romance. It does not have a cliffhanger, and ends with a HEA. There are triggers and situations that will make some readers uncomfortable. Please do not read if you don’t enjoy dark romance with detailed scenes.

The book is an amazing 5-stars read!
Even if I am not very good at writing a review, I highly recommend you give this book a chance and read it. As for the fans of omegaverse genre this book is really a must. I hope you enjoy reading it as much as I did!
This is a well written story as a dark omegaverse romance. It was easy to love Elise and, once she met the man who bought her as an Omega and virgin, you had to hope that she would escape him. Due to his status, she expected only good things from him but that changed immediately. She was not treated well from the beginning. The Alpha who kidnapped her is actually the good guy in this story. Leir and Elise saved each other and others who were under the cruel control of the Chancellor and his son. Loved they got their happily ever after.
I am kind of new to Leanne Ryans as this only the third book I have read by her. I am enjoying her books though and I look forward to the next volume in this series. In this book we have Elise who is an Omega and she turns herself in to be sold on the Omega Market, in the hopes that she might be with an Alpha with some money who will then take of her any children she might have. She gets sold to Trevin who is the son of the leader of a planet and so she is on a ship and being taken to him.
Leif attacks the ship and captures Elise, but he doesn’t take her for himself because Elise is a virgin. Leif plans on keeping Elise until Trevin convinces his father to rescind a tax on the Aliens that live on their planet.
Later Leir spanks Elise for attacking him and then a little later he makes Elise suck him and then afterward he gets her off.
Next there are some trials and tribulations and much later when Elise is safe Leir finally has sex with Elise and then there is a very nice HEA, with a little setup for the next story in this series.
When I read the blurb I thought that the book was going to be much darker. However, I liked how the story developed. I really liked Elise. She is a realist, down-to-earth, always looking to adjust and take one step at a time. Veir, on the other hand, is your typical Alpha male, though he is kind of sweet and reasonable. Not to mention how hard he tries not to really touch Elise during his attempt to negotiate with Trevin. All in all, I enjoyed this book very much and I look forward to the next one!

This story is a dark read, but it’s not the darkest Omegaverse story I’ve read; I would say it falls in the dark grey zone. I think part of that is because Elise is a very in control sort of Omega. She knows what she’s getting herself into and keeps a level head about it. This seems to rare in this trope, at least in the stories I’ve read, and it added an interesting twist to things. She didn’t like what was going to happen, but she knew her options and decided to go with the one that left her with a feeling of some control. And that’s where most of her control goes out the window. There were a few events in this story that were emotional to keep me connected to Elise without causing any triggers, but there is some non-con so be warned. If you have read any Omegaverse books then you will know what you are getting yourself into, and you won’t be disappointed. The characters are easy to become invested in, the plot is nicely developed, and the story moves at a quick pace. It was thoroughly enjoyable and I can’t wait for the next one.
I’ve read everything this author has written and each novel seems to be better than the last. Her knack of giving us a new take on omegaverse continues with Leir and Elise. A young omega who chooses her path by turning herself into the auction expecting a simple life of protection and children only to end up kidnapped by the Alpha pirate Leir. Trying to stay true to her choices but finding it hard to resist her captor Elise struggles to stay true. Leir an alpha who can barely control himself in the presence of the omega goes to the extreme to keep her whole and safe from himself. After being delivered to the auction winner her life quickly escalated into a world of an alpha who has no respect for omegas his only goal to control, abuse and harm. Can Leir and Elise stay alive long enough to save each other? Excellent storyline! Loved it!
Elise has decided to not fight against the law and to turn herself into the Omega center. She hopes that it would at least give her the opportunity to have a better life than the one she was already struggling to survive in. Her journey straights out humiliating but she can bare that as long as her Alpha takes care of her in the end. But nothing in life is ever easy and Elise may regret the decision she has made.
Very good start to a new series. I’ve enjoyed this author’s writing very much and her MF Omegaverse are always a good read. This series is on the darker side as our heroine goes through a few incidents that many will find too much to handle and can be quite triggering. I follow the author on social media and I remember her mentioning she was worry that these scenes may be too much for some readers and may turned them off to the rest of the story. Having read a lot of darker books in this genre, they didn’t bother me but I can see where a lot of others may find it offensive. I think she approached them well (at least to me) as there was some pre-warning in her writing to let the reader know something not good was going to happen. Her MF Omegaverse is a lot lighter than what is out there in this genre and she is one of the many authors I recommend for people to start out with who are interested in this genre and wants an introduction.
With that said, I am looking forward to the next book and am wondering if we have already been introduced to the main characters or not.
This well-written book is first in a new series and was short, sexy and even a little sweet. This author is now one of my favorites for writing this new “Omega Market” with main characters (even a few of the side characters) that I could enjoy and get to know. I cannot wait for more stories in this world and learn about new characters that I can really connect with. I believed their feelings for one another were real and also I enjoyed how he was ready to accept her and protect her. It comes with trigger warnings as it is a little darker than most romances. This is a must read

Is this darker than what she usually writes? Yes, definitely. Is this one of the darkest Omegaverse books I’ve read? No, definitely not. Do I think there is a great blend of the dark and light in this book? Most definitely.
I want to address something that I read in another review of this book and it’s my personal opinion so take it as nothing more than that … cheating in this storyline. I DID NOT read it that way at all. I am a hardcore, hard limit, hard NO reader when it comes to cheating in books. I won’t read them. If I read a cheating book unaware, my review will ALWAYS reflect that. The scene in question happens prior to any established relationship between the main characters.
I actually really enjoyed both of the main characters of this story. They read like what you would expect in both an Alpha and Omega. Both strong in a way that makes them characters worth reading. And it ends in a HEA with no cliffhanger! There is also an opening for more from this world with different characters.
This book is completely different from what this author usually writes, which to me is fantastic. When an author continuously writes the “same type” or follows the “same formula” in their characters, the writing can get stale and boring, that is not what is happening with the author. That shows growth in her writing and experience.
If you’ve read Omegaverse before and are looking for a storyline with more of a edge then this book is what you’re looking for. It does have some triggers that readers need to be aware of, and that’s the dark aspect of this story. Overall, I recommend this book and hope you add it to your Omegaverse library.
Good first read into the Omega Market series
—>>> Elise Carson is a very pragmatic human female Omega who has been waiting for the day she presents herself to the omega collection center, instead of being hunted, in hopes of a better way of life. Her intake was not as she had expected and indeed, this was a time where she had negative encounters which could act as a triggering situation for some readers. Elise’s weeks of waiting was finally rewarded by a new-milestone purchase by a Chancellor’s son, heir to the richest planet in the galaxy. But before she can get to her new Alpha owner, her ship is attached by Leir, a smuggler and pirate who has to change his plans when he cannot find anyone of use on board but for a newly purchased omega. Before long, Leir finds it hard as an alpha to control himself and be honorable around this delectable, unmated omega, and time is running out to make political demands to the Chancellor before they are found and Elise experiences her first heat. Good first read into the Omega Market series!
So let me first say that this was a great read. Next I have to say that this is the darkest I think I’ve ever read by this author. Of course that being said i go back to what I first said. This was a GREAT read!
I loved the main character Elise. She went into things expecting it not to be all cupcakes and rainbows. She did expect to be taken care of and hoped to maybe end up loving the Alpha that picks her. But she didn’t automatically assume she was going to live happily ever after. That made me like her a bunch. And Leir was the kind of Alpha every Omega wants I think. So I liked him as well. And the story was very interesting and I can’t wait for the next one!
So I definitely recommend, but I also caution. This does come with trigger warnings for a reason.
I will admit that I really enjoyed reading this omegaverse romance that is somewhat darker than the previous books written by this talented author & even though there are some heart-wrenching moments, it is definitely worth reading. It is set in a quite brutal futuristic world where the omegas have no choices & all decisions are made by the government and/or alphas. The female character in this book is portrayed as a quite resilient young woman trying to adjust to an unjustifiable traumatic attack but is still able to bond with a heroic alpha. The plot is outstanding with good scene descriptions & world building.
There is: a human female omega (Elise) is matched by a government’s “match maker center” to a alpha (Trevin Osmel) Who resides on a colonized planet (Farcon 1) then the ship her alpha sent for her is ambushed by pirates & she is looked after by the alpha captain (Leir) who is highly attracted to her, drama, intrigue, twists & turns, suspense, humans, aliens, slavery, action, adventure, discipline, spankings, confusion, pain, humiliation, a cruel & uncaring alpha (Trevin), a forced non-consensual scene, desperation, determination, unexpected help, full-scale revolt, violence, conflict, death, injuries, heat issues, a claiming, contentment, some consensual steamy scenes, happiness & a truly, satisfying conclusion. I would recommend this omegaverse romance to people who enjoy reading this genre.
Pirates!!!!
I love this book! It has it all hot pirate guys, a cute girl, hot sex, evil villains, a group out for blood and space aliens. What more could you ask for? Come along on the ride that Elise and Leir take. Leann written another great story. I’m hoping there will be more action package alien/human stories in Leann’s future writing. I would recommend this book
Elise knew that the day would come when as an omega she would be sold to an alpha. She lived in a poor part of town so she didn’t have much to live for. She decided to be proactive and turn herself in before it became mandatory hoping she could make a better match.
There were many who were interested but her mate was finally chosen. Trevin lived on a planet rich with crystals needed for space travel and was the son of the leader. It will take several weeks for the ship sent to take Elise to her new home will arrive.
Elise is disappointed when Trevin doesn’t come in person to meet her but sends his guards. The trip is not without its issues especially when it is attached by rebels who don’t like Trevin and his father.
I enjoyed this book and I know you will too.

This novel was fairly cleanly written and edited, with not too many typos that I found in the ARC version of this manuscript. The world building of this universe was excellent, just like most of this author’s other m/f omegaverse romances. The characterization was competently done, with the heroine being a sympathetic character. The hero was definitely in the grey zone, as far as being a sympathetic character. * spoiler * I enjoyed the novel very much except for one part of the story where the hero engages in some cheating that was very exploitative. If that is a no-go for you, I would skip this novel entirely in favor of this author’s other omegaverse series. She has quite a few, and this is the first novel that I have read by her that included the hero cheating on the heroine. * end spoiler * The development of the romantic relationship was natural and organic, considering how action-packed the plot was. The plot and pacing of this book was very exciting, with me turning pages rapidly to find out what was going to happen next. There was surprisingly little angst experienced by the heroine, considering all the massively traumatizing stuff she went through in this novel, and the stakes were very high. That tends to be one of my preferred narrative structures for a romance novel. This novel uses the Virgin and the Bad Boy trope, and also the Mating Bond trope common to omegaverse romances. There is also a variation on the Enemies to Lovers trope in here. The world building in this novel was four stars. The plot and pacing was five stars. The characterization and development of the romantic relationship was four stars. Normally, that would make the combined score of this novel four stars, but because of the story element that I spoil above, I took one star off the combined score for a total of three stars. One of the reasons I started auto buying this author’s work is because she wrote m/f omegaverse where the hero was actually heroic instead of being a monster, like most of the other m/f omegaverse romance out there. Some dark omegaverse romances work for me, and some don’t. This one did not work for me. This author is no longer an auto buy author for me when she comes out with a new release. I am going to be much more careful from now on about what novels I choose to read and buy of hers. I no longer trust that I will always enjoy the stories that she writes. This novel has a Happy Ever After ending instead of a cliffhanger, so that is a big plus for this novel. I recommend this novel to fans of dark m/f omegaverse romances who are not bothered by the plot spoiler above. I do not plan to buy a keeper copy of this novel for myself.

Used is a stand-alone in omegaverse world.
A slight different from the previous omegaverse books I ever read, Used caught me by suprise.
Elise is an omega. Stepping in her twentieth birthday, she decide to follow the law. come to the collection center on her own free will to be match with an Alpha instead being dragged, kicking and screaming. Feel like she have nothing to loose, she hope for a better future in this “match maker” center. But her hope crush when the ship her Alpha sent to bring her was ambush.
Leir is an Alpha. He is the captain of a pirate vessel. He lead his men to ambush counsellor ship with one goal in mind. But an omega in ship is something he didn’t expect but definitly won’t have a problem to use for his gain.
A much slower pace than I ever read from the previous omegaverse books, Used bring another dimension in Alpha POV. Like any other men,Used tell us that Alpha isn’t always an honourable warrior who valued omega for their worth. And only the real Alpha Omega connection hold the bond.
This Omegaverse book is neither hard to stomach with it’s ABO (those aren’t blood types) dynamics that can sometimes be very harsh and pushing the dub-con trope. Nor is it as play at living in the Omegaverse and its genre. It really fails squarely in the middle.
It features an Omega who has, surprisingly, decided that she will turn herself in to the Omega collection center rather than be hunted down. She figures that it will turn out better for her in regards to being paired with an alpha, if she isn’t underfed and on the verge of heat. She has also decided to “save herself” after having heard she would get a better price. She is a very practical Omega and knows that all is really is, is a commodity and she should try to get the most out of it if she can.
Things don’t go as planned for her. The alpha that wins her bid sends someone else to collect her, as he can’t be bothered. Her ship them get highjacked by pirates and she gets taken hostage. What’s more, she finds herself drawn to the alpha pirate Captain. What a mess?!?
It’s a nice change of pace in the Omegaverse scene. Yes, there are alpha-holes and little omegas that are betrayed by their bodies, but there is the fighting of society within this world which I really liked. I left me with a smile on my face. This book will not have you squirmy in your seat as some Omegaverse books do, but it is a good romance for the genre.

Elise is an orphaned, young, virgin Omega, who decided to turn herself into the government in preparation for mating. Her beauty and her virginity allowed for a very high price and a mating with Trevin, the son of the Chancellor. She is a little nervous about so much wealth, but she is willing to learn and adjust. Unfortunately, on her way to meet her proposed mate, the ship is overtaken by a crew of Alphas looking for someone to ransom. When they discover Elise, she becomes their bargaining chip. Will it work? Will the rich leaders agree to fulfill the pirate’s demands? Will Elise be saved by her future husband?
This story is filled with adventure, rough handling and excitement. When I began, I looked forward to the simple mating of Elise and her Alpha. Then things got complicated. Who will claim her? How will he treat her? Will she be happy with her ultimate mate? How will she decide?
This was an intriguing, complex story which kept me on my toes the whole time.
I have read almost all of Leann Ryans’ omegaverse books and this one is by far my favorite! I tend to like the darker side of this genre, and Ms. Ryans did not disappoint. Life has not been kind to the omega Elise, but she carved out a small life for herself and is trying to live it on her own terms. She volunteers for the omega selection on Earth instead of being hunted down, and she only hopes that her Alpha will provide for her and their children. Of course her plan runs afoul, and Elise is subjected to brutal emotional and physical trauma. Despite all this, Elise is not an omega to let life dictate terms to her, and she takes things into her hands and tries to plot a new course. Big warning to those who get triggered easily and only like sweet stories with uncomplicated endings.

I really did enjoyed this take on Omegaverse, wasn’t sure at first if I would because I’m not huge on aliens. I like how the author incorporated her characters from the other worlds. If you don’t like dark stories then steer away from this one, it gets violent with rape, but this is where the Omegaverse comes in, I love this type of reads and I like that the author went this dark. Now she has a series of Omegaverse that’s not dark at all and that’s the Alpha Barbarians series. Back to the Omega Market Book One, I cant wait to see who the next story will be about!
