Lilith and Chris are at the center of a new mystery!
AND… Zuri and Miry come to the point where the curiosity finally hunts the cat!
Uriel’s Lariat centers around the mystery of who is burning the fallen to death. Zuri and Miry have their sights set on Lilith and Chris because they have the most to gain by more destruction.
I love this book. Miry is less confused, and she is asking the hard questions. If Zuri knows she likes girls and only girls, what does someone who likes both called?
Oh dear, they are called Miriam bat-Michael, and they’ve got this!
The only reason I dinged this book a star was that I saw the big bad coming from the start–I expected it would happen at some point from book one.

“Uriel’s Lariat” the third installment in the “Celestial Academy” series by Sarah Biglow & Molly Zenk is one of the most original takes on the nowadays extremely successful YA academy genre.
Zuri is not about to stay idle while someone is targeting and burning Fallen, even it that put a target on her back, and Miry is right by her side, trying to exorcise her own trauma after the kidnapping revelations. While searching for Uriel’s Lariat whose powers should help them to fight the killer, Zuri and Miri relationship shifts putting the search and their hopes to succeeds at risk. Meanwhile Michael’s and Lucifer’s eternal feud reaches a new turning point, threaten to spread like a bushfire to the whole angelic world
“Uriel’s Lariat” is an amazing addition to the series, which interweaves elements of urban fantasy, YA academy, mythology and a brand new take on angels (fallen and otherwise) into a fast-paced, action-filled, very entertaining page-turner with the signature writing of Biglow and Zenk, who complement each other to perfection. This series keeps on improving book, by book. A clear recommendation!

This is book three of the Celestial Academy series and sees Miry reeling from the knowledge that the boy she loved, Chris, and his mother Lilith, were responsible for all the kidnapped angels going missing. As she was taking angels to get angel blood to help keep her son Chris alive, as he was half demon, half angel and would die without it. She still can’t get over how he lied to her for a whole year together, but can’t get over her love for him either. She spends the holiday period down with her roommate Zuri, with her dad Lucifer and realises he and other Fallen are little different from angels, just they were on the losing side of the battle for heaven! Before they go back to the academy, their friend Damian is brought in, burnt badly and dying. He is not the first Fallen to be found in this manner, but he is a friend and Miry uses her angelic healing power to try and save him, with a little assist.
When they get back to the academy, Miry is determined to help Zuri find out who is targeting her people and to put a stop to it. But this may put a target on her own back, no matter how powerful her own father may be. They plan to try and gain use of Uriel’s lariat to use against whoever is killing all these Fallen. But first they will have to get ahold of it and leave a suitable looking copy in its place. The two girls start to get a whole lot closer, now Chris is off the scene, but one of them is attracted to girls and this closeness is raising mixed messages and could cause lots more problems between them. More Fallen are being killed and when they visit one of the locations, Zuri’s ex-girlfriend almost becomes one of them. Miry knows that her father Michael has his own twisted plans, and has tried to have her killed in the past, but his tense relationship with Lucifer could affect the whole of the angelic world.
As the girls plot to get Lilith onto campus grounds, by luring Chris back with Miry’s help, they hope to take down the demon they hold responsible for so much and the main suspect in these most recent killings. How wrong they are, will soon be revealed. The girls are on different sides of a long fought battle with lines clearly defined, but they had hopes of blurring these fixed ideals. This was the first year Fallen were allowed in the Celestial Academy, but it seems the Archangels have not forgotten the divisions of old and Uriel in particular still suffers from memory lapses and severe PTSD from those days, leading him to do unexpected things. Whether the two girls will be able to stick together by the end of this story is unclear and where one of their father’s is, is yet to be made clear. Another book to follow in this series and more answers to uncover, I hope. An intriguing look at the relations between Heaven and Hell and the descendants of the two, who are being judged by who their parents are in many of the instances. I received an ARC copy of this book from BookSprout and I have freely given my own opinion of the book above.
This series is a blast to read as all the characters are still as crazy as ever. This time M and Z have a plan to get the suspected bad guys. Of course things do not go as planned and the crazy and fun begin. I laughed and groaned at what was going on with everyone. Twists and danger and typical Miry made a great story. I kept rooting for M and Z to win.
We have a mystery on who is after the Fallen. Zuri and Miry have gotten closer, but now some one is Burning the Fallen. After Damian gets burned, Zuri is out for revenge. Will she figure out who is behind it? Can she stop Miry from seeing Chris and giving him her blood? Can they get Uriel’s Lariat to stop the person? Who will help her and will her father find out? He has told her to stop finding trouble.

Zuri and Miry are at Zuri’s home for break. Miry seems to be enjoying herself. Zuri is upset when someone brings in her friend that is hurt. Zuri decides that once she is at school, she will looking to the what is going on.
Miry is also still dealing with Chris, her past with him. How is deals with everything. She is also finding herself drawn more to Zuri. Chris visits her in an usual way, makes her promise not to say anything.
Zuri and Miry will try to figure out who is behind these attacks. Miry comes up with an idea that could put alot of others at harm. Things don’t go the way they should.
This book was really great read. It has a little bit for everyone. You are pulled into the story and will read until it is done. The way the author ended the book, will have you wanting the next one. You will see two girls looking at how they deal with others, the walls they built. They become closer to on another. Can’t wait for the next book.

Miry and Zuri are an interesting duo. Samael is more than a bit of a traitor to the Fallen and to the Angels.
Uriel is more than a bit off his rocker, throwing fireballs at students and exhibiting lethal and near lethal skills in his efforts at cleansing and keeping order
Miry and Z draw closer, yet Miry still struggles with her connections to Chris
Can they keep the balance?
Intense and fast paced drama and action

Whose burning the fallen? Zuri and Miri are in the thick of things and want to find out the truth. Do they find out? Why? Zuri has to investigate under the radar so that her Father does not find out her actions. Will the girls figure things out in time? This series is awesome and I really like all the action packed fast paced spine-tingling going-ons.
