Up and Close Personal is my first book read by Kathryn Freeman. Up Close and Personal is a sweet rom-com love story between an actor and his female bodyguard. This the first time when I read a book where the woman is a bodyguard and she protects the man.
Zac is an actor who has a stalker and because of that, he needs protection and he finds out that a woman will protect him. At first, he didn’t like the idea to be protected by a woman but he realizes that Kat is a woman that was in the army and she is a professional. I liked Zac because he was funny, respectful, and a sweetheart.
Kat is a professional and for her, the opportunity to protect Zac is very important to prove her boss is ready for more cases. She likes a Zac but she is trying to do her job and to make sure that he is safe. Even if she had feelings for Zac, she didn’t want to risk her reputation because she works in a man world.
I liked the playful relationship between Zac and Kat and I liked how they work together. I liked how Zac pursue her and he didn’t give up on her. Zac fought to be with her and to prove to her that their relationship deserves a chance.
They both had a difficult past but both of them decided to face the past and at the same time to let go of the past and to look forward. I loved Zac because he is a sweet guy and I loved the relationship between Zac and Kat. I liked Up Close and Personal and I recommend to everyone who wants to read about a woman as a bodyguard.
“You’re perfect for me. It’s me who isn’t good enough for you, but I’m going to spend the rest of my life trying to be”
Satisfying in every way:
This book was extremely well written; it captured and held my attention. I loved that there was intrigue, suspense, drama and romance too.
Zac has a stalker and when Kat is assigned to protect him, sparks fly. They try to fight their attraction and keep things professional but it gets harder the more time they spend together. I appreciated that they both had insecurities and issues that they were dealing with. It made them more approachable and easier to relate to.
It was fun having a reversal of the typical genders when it came to a bodyguard protecting a movie celebrity. I also liked that Zac was more down to earth and real and maybe the setting being in London, England rather than Hollywood had something to do with that. Overall another great read by this talented author.
I received a free copy of this book and am voluntarily leaving a review. All opinions expressed are solely my own.
Zac wasn’t what Kat expected!
Actor Zac Edwards is the newest star in British film but when he starts to get notes from a stalker even his manager gets involved when the producers of his new movie want to protect their star. Zac thinks everyone is overdoing it when they hire a company to protect him but when he meets bodyguard Kat Parker, he doesn’t know what to think. Kat Parker had gotten used to protecting people after she had left the military, but actor Zac Edwards was more than she expected.
Up Close and Personal is a fun romance when Kat decides that Zac should stay at her place when the stalker leaves a note at the hotel where they were staying leading to much more than either of them expected with a little help from Kat’s niece.
