Once upon a time Mitchell Walker fell in love…and trusted the wrong woman. That one mistake nearly cost him his future and he vowed to never trust another woman. Now he is a young, successful surgeon. Women throw themselves at his feet, and he gives them what they want, as long as they don’t ask for his heart. The strategy is working well for him until he meets freelance reporter Jessica … Jessica Finley.
She’s smart, she makes him laugh, and she sees right through his playboy persona.
Jessica’s fire may burn hot enough to keep him up all night, but will their love be strong enough to burn away the ghosts of their past and melt the ice around his heart?

Don’t Walk Away-
*** I received a free copy of this book via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review. ***
I feel like out of all the brothers, Derek is the biggest teddy bear on the inside. He just protects everyone and then forgets about himself. That is one of the sweetest things, but he is also such a hard ass. I adore him in so many ways and his book was a long time coming. Of course, he would be the last to possible fall for someone. He’s the most stubborn and complicated out of them all: the oldest brother.
This story was sweet, sexy and I’d have to say magical. The way Laura and Derek are together would make you think that they had met in another life or something. They just seemed to click and recognize each other. He is so used to protecting others that when he learns her secret he tries to do what he does best, protect. Except, she turns the tables and tries to protect him and he doesn’t quite know how to handle that. All his life, he was the protector. So he doesn’t understand it but goes along anyways with a condition of constant contact since she is in danger.
They both don’t want it to be a goodbye but it’s for the best at the time. You as the reader feel that heartache with them, when they separate and the triumph when they are together. There is so much that happens between these two that is worth reading. You’ll feel everything with these characters. It really is a beautiful thing that Adams does. I am so glad that I came across this series on BookSprout. You get to learn about each character and grow and laugh with them and their families they make. It’s just a lovely way to end the series.
So how will things end? Will everyone be safe? Will they be together?
You won’t know until you read it!
Hooked 5 stars
Ms. Adams, you had me at Eddie and Bella. I knew they sounded familiar but until Mitchell mentioned the collar, I wasn’t sure.
This book has an amazing story. It was full of very interesting lead and supporting characters. Jessica and Mitchell’s romance is so heartfelt. I was up all night reading and am definitely hooked to read the rest of the brothers’ story. [I received a free copy of this book and voluntarily chose to review it.]
4.5 stars
This wasn’t as emotional a read as Book 2, but is still wonderful in it’s own way and left me feeling warm and fuzzy. As usual the writing is excellent, easy to read with a flowing style and no confusion as to who is talking/ what is happening. The plot moved with a good pace and, having read about Mitchell in the previous books, was not at all what I expected.
I don’t want to spoil anything so all I’m going to say is that Mitchell was very different to the impression I’d gotten of him in Jake and Chance’s books. He was so much BETTER and deeper and I loved him. He was believable, wonderful and has such a sad story to tell. Jessica was a strong, caring but hurting heroine and again she was likeable and believable.
The chemistry between them was amazing and even though things move quickly it actually felt like a long time! A little bit of me would have liked a bit more agonising over commitment, trust etc but then again I enjoyed this book BECAUSE it didn’t batter my emotions. I liked that yet again it was different to both previous books, this is an author that doesn’t stick to a formula where all that really changes in the book are names and jobs. I’ve read some series of books where the author starts with a good idea but seems to run out of steam by book 3, this is NOT one of those. These books are all equally good.
