This was an interesting book to read. Emily couldn’t talk when around people she didn’t know or feel comfortable with. She’s become a well-known supermodel in LA but doesn’t want to continue modeling. She is tired of the whole business and just wants to find a normal job, but she never completed high school. That and not being able to talk make it difficult for her to think about a career change. She has always been in love with Evan who lived next door to her in her childhood. All she wants is to go back to NY for the holidays, see Evan and rest. Evan had always loved Emily, but he doesn’t feel like he has a chance winning her heart. Can they find true happiness together, even with two different lifestyles?

unspoken love
Evan and Emily were in love with each other for years but never said anything.
Life got very complicated as they were living across the country from each other.
Emily and Jacob (her dad) came home for Christmas and things got more complicated.
But, love has a way of working out.
A great read from Crystal Faye.

I have to say I love unwrapping presents. And I really enjoy young love. I did however feel the story started off a little slow and I would have loved a little more detail.
But the main characters were very sweet and their love was very innocent and true.
It was also very easy to read and I would recommend this to anyone looking for a sweet and quick book to enjoy.

I felt so much for Emily and her struggle. I could feel her sorrow and anxiety through the pages and was really upset at Jacob for pushing her. Her connection to Evan was undeniable and so sweet that I kept rooting for them to figure their stuff out and be together. There’s danger and struggles and obstacles they had to get through but I love the growth they go through separately and together.

I just finished reading Unwrapping the Present A Virgin Friends to Lovers Romance by Crystal Faye and it was a romantic and steamy story with some twists and turns!!! Emily and Evan have been long time friends who each secretly harbors feelings for the other. Emily is at the top of her game with being a world class model living in California. The only thing with that is she has panic attacks and can’t speak when on modeling shoots. Her mom passed away and Jacob who was her mom’s husband has been taking care of her. He is in the entertainment business and helps Emily when she goes on modeling assignments. She wants to go home to New York for Christmas and her birthday. They haven’t been home in while and she wonders if Evan will be there. Evan is the best friend of Viktor who is Jacob’s brother. Evan works as a full time manager in a pizza joint. Evan decides to throw a birthday party for the both of them since they have the same birthday and Emily freaks out and he has to take her back to his house. That’s when things heat up and they both acknowledge that they feel something for the other. There were some very steamy and passionate scenes in the book. You might need a fan after reading them!! They are in love but Emily wonders if Evan can handle being with her in the limelight. Then a situation happens one night when Emily goes to Evan’s work and it put her in the hospital and him in jail. Jacob tells Evan he is to never see Emily again. Jacob and Emily leave NY and head back to CA. Emily and Evan both make plans separately to make a change in their lives for the better. This was an amazing book to read. It had steamy and passionate scenes, it had some intense moments in it for a while and I wasn’t sure things were going to be resolved. I enjoyed reading this book. I highly recommend reading it if you love steamy romance and suspense!

ONE FANTASTIC ADVENTURE!!!
Wipe out! Crystal boasts an impressive approach so heartwarming and touching with such passion, finesse and style that blows this baby wide open. I’m not sure I have the words to describe the feelings running rampant or the intense reactions for this amazing block buster. The dynamics and presentation in layer upon layer that you peel back with each page your drawn into this web so deep until everything else ceases to exist. Forging through the trials and tribulations, noting the astonishing twists and wicked turns, testing our characters in ways they could have never imagined. The attraction and chemistry sizzles through the pages, alluring and mesmerizing, exposing a deep connection and amplifying affection, binding them to one another perfectly. Satisfaction rocks this jewel, bringing it home with such intensity and precision, riding roughshod and delivering one block busting thrill, taking you places you haven’t even dreamed of. The realism and authenticity of the characters as their on point personalities blend and connect along with the graphically detailed scenes that really pull this baby together smoothly. Fantastic job Crystal, thanks for sharing this bad boy with us.
Emily has been crazy about Evan since she could remember. Evan use to be so easy for her to talk to and he was always so kind to her. He would bring her flowers and other gifts and never really say anything about them, he would just hand them to her and that would be it. She had grown up him and his best friend Viktor and his older brother Jacob who just happened to be her mom’s boyfriend. Jacob was an aspiring actor which took him to LA which in return took Emily and her mom there too. When Emily was 11 her mom passed away, which they knew she had a medical condition which had limited her time but they never expected her to pass so suddenly. Jacob had promised to take care of Emily and that’s what he was doing.
Now several years later, Emily was well on her way to being a super model, but she suffered from selective mutism. Emily had just landed a huge modeling job and she was feeling overwhelmed by it and wanted to return to her hometown to get away from everything and take a break before she was to leave for Europe. She wanted to go back to New York and she wanted to see Evan. Evan was excited to find out that Emily was coming home. He knew that she was a supermodel because he had kept up with her the whole time she’d been in LA. Evan knew deep down he had loved Emily the whole time but was afraid she wouldn’t want anything to do with him because he hadn’t really done anything with his life and what he was doing wasn’t all on the up & up. When they finally meet up the sparks fly and he is shocked to find that she had saved herself for him. They both knew deep down that they wanted to be together but what obstacles would get in the way? Would the life Evan be living get in the way of their happiness?
This was a good storyline one that really shows how serious selective mutism can be and once I started the book, I couldn’t put it down. I thought the childhood love Evan and Emily shared was sweet and the chemistry was hot. I loved the way Jacob took care of Emily and would love to see him with a HEA as well.

I received this book to review, I can’t say I enjoyed the book at all. It was an incredibly hard to continue to read it. I found the main female character to be whiny, needy and very annoying. The main male character came across to me as simply immature and boring.

This story was well written and cute – without your normal couple. Both struggled with their own issues and ultimately came through for eachother despite outside stressers. They had an honest and pure young love that appealed to me and gave me a happy glow when things turned out well.
Sweet story between Emily, a model who struggles with the outside word and Evan who doesn’t live a perfectly clean life. Lots of things happening, lots of emotions. Beautiful, easy to read story, happens a bit too fast.

A really good story. Emily is a supermodel and in love with Evan, the boy she left behind. Evan has loved Emily for years, but thinks he’s not good enough. I loved these two characters, and the love they have for each other. Overall, a great read that I enjoyed immensely.

This was an original, classy story. It had a couple of teary-eyed and aha moments but was a very satisfying read. It centered around a boy and girl who were next-door neighbors in New York until she was 11years old. Her Mom died and she and her stepdad moved to L.A. She became a supermodel but had a problem relating to strangers, including all the people who worked on and with her. Terrific read! Couldn’t put it down until the end.

The author has given us characters we can connect with. Emily is a superstar model, but wants more than that. Evan is her friend from the old neighborhood that she fell in love with when she was younger. Evan has loved her for years but does not feel that he has anything to offer her. The question is whether these two can have a normal relationship.

This book by Crystal Faye about a top model and the boy left behind in her old neighborhood left me wanting SOMETHING more … but as I begin writing this, I’m just not sure WHAT that something is. All I know is that something was missing. Emily’s hidden disability leaves me wondering why the author chose something so odd and obscure to afflict her character who literally lives in the public eye and is recognized all over the world. Emily’s mother has died many years before this story takes place but her illness and cause of death at such a young age is never explained and I found that very odd. Evan is another perplexing character in that he’s involved in an illegal business and risks being incarcerated but I didn’t think his character fit that particular profile. The reader is asked to believe that Emily, who is incredibly sheltered, and Evan, who haven’t seen each other in two years and have had minimal contact suddenly fall into bed. I think there are only two sex scenes and those are awkwardly written and don’t add anything to the story and in fact, they just don’t fit with the rest of the writing. There are few glaring errors in the writing but one thing that I noticed right off was that the writing rarely used contractions in dialog: “you are” instead of “you’re”; “I will” instead of “I’ll”. I’ve always disliked this and find it distracting because it doesn’t reflect natural speech patterns between friends and family members. It saddens me to not give stellar reviews for all the hard work an author puts into each book but this one, as mentioned before, left me wanting characters written with more depth in a more cohesive, believable and engaging story.
