Book one in the Merryville High series a well written story that is very emotional to read. Brayleigh had me rooting for her from the start she will have so much to go through, she meets Zain who ia her ex-boyfriends best friend, I enjoyed reading this story. Such a great, quick, easy read!
When Zain gets in trouble and has to volunteer as punishment, he realizes Brayleigh (his best friend) needs his help more than anyone knows. She is reluctant to trust him, since she’s so used to being let down and disappointed in the worst ways possible from everyone she knows. When they are finally free to do what they need to do, they realize that together, they can take this horrible situation Brayleigh has landed in and turn it into a positive one for many people.
Color me impressed! I am thoroughly in love with this book! I am a sucker for a good Young Adult romance novel because they make me all bubbly, young love and all. I also teach high school so I recommend good novels to my students.
Unwrap My Heart has a good balance between conflict and romance. From the beginning this novel had me asking questions and seeking answers. The conflict plaguing the main character, Brayleigh, is intriguing and had me hooked. It is also a common conflict that many young women and young men deal with in some form in today’s society. I do not want to give too much away, but trust me when I say that this novel touches on relevant topics that youth today can relate to.
The main character makes it through the conflict in relatively healthy ways. There a few moments when I questioned why the authors had Brayleigh do certain things, but then I had to remember that I was reading a Young Adult novel. YAs today do not have the wisdom that more grown adults do.
If you are looking for a Young Adult novel that is not ridiculously complex, but just complex enough to distract you from the craziness of 2020, definitely give Unwrap My Love a try. It was a quick read that really made me feel a full range of emotions.
And can I talk about the cover?! So dadgum cute! Something about it fully pulled me in. I will definitely be recommending this to my students.
I look forward to reading more from these authors in the future!
I recieved a free copy of this book from the author in exchange for an honest review.
This is a well written story. Its emotional and ideals with some dark subjects. Brayleigh and Zain are well written and their story is inspirational.
The story flowed well and kept me gripped
This was an amazing book. The author told a story of something that happens behind closed doors. It had humor, sadness, and faith in it. I cried at times for this girl, and I laughed with her as well.
This is a well written book with strong characters and an emotional story line. The authors do a great job developing the story and pulling you in with all the emotions , happy and sad , flowing throughout. There are strong triggers dealing with some touchy subjects but are dealt with beautifully. It’s a very touching story that captured and held me from start to finish. Highly recommend reading.
I voluntarily reviewed an ARC of this book. All opinions in this review are my own and freely given.
Bray and Zain were both very lovable characters. I could not put this book down! Brayleigh’s backstory was very shocking to me, how her past really had effected her. I do wish there was more story depth to Sebastian and maybe even Theo. The love felt real, and well described. Zain’s parents seemed like the perfect feel-good parent characters. Victoria Anders seems to shock me with the plot in every book, taking turns I wasn’t expecting and i’ve always loved it. Incredible writing as always. I predict Sebastian’s side is going to be really good, and it will help with the story depth because just that one chapter at the end showed how much Sebastian actually cared for Brayleigh. Can’t Wait.

This compelling story will have your emotions all over the place. Brayleigh is a strong young lady who will pull at your heart for all she went through as a child and young adult. The story has some triggers that can be disturbing for some but over all is a remarkable one that will have you discussing long after you put this one down. I loved how the story was written and the depth of the characters.

I loved, loved, loved this YA Romance!! It deals with some heavy issues that many teenagers have to deal with in one way or another today.
The mc, Brayleigh, is a strong character who has had a harsh, unfair life. She struggles and fights through things, because of her little brother and wanting to take care of him. The other mc, Zain, loves Bray. He does everything he can to help her and stand by her. Both grow so much through the story, I think especially Zain, you can’t help but love him!!
This a beautifully written YA Romance!! The authors blend smoothly, like one person wrote this!! The characters, the dialogue…everything is so well written, and it makes for a wonderful story!!! The paperback is BEAUTIFULLY designed!! I already bought the next book, about the next couple, and can’t wait to get started on it!!!
One girl bullies another, and she gets her friends on board. It can make a person miserable, especially if they’re already suffering at home. Brayleigh’s life was hard from the start, and just when she thought she found some light, it got worse and continued on that trajectory. It made it hard for her to form female friendships. At least she has Zane’s friendship which means the world to her.
I thought the authors wrote her story well, though I felt that the ending was a bit rushed. Overall, this is a good YA story that talks about dating, relationships, sexual abuse, and bullying. It won’t be an easy read because of the heavy material, but it’s an important one. A good blend of everything for every reader.
Brayleigh has a hard life before and while in foster care. Being abused to keep others safe became a norm for her. Now she was pregnant by her foster father and homeless. She had always had a secret crush on her best friend Zain. Zain fell for Bray the first three me he saw her but he was taken. Now he was free. But life was full of surprises. Could they make this tragedy work out? Could Zain convince Bray that he truly loved her?

The first thing I need to mention are the triggers and super sensitive subjects that are weaved throughout this book. While these topics might be a turn off for some, I have to say that things were handled extremely well and kept me holding on until the last page. My poor fragile heart broke for Brayleigh and the situations she had to endure as a child and then into early adulthood. During the entire story Brayleigh remained a strong and resilient warrior while I had goosebumps all over and tears in my eyes. I loved how Zain was there for Brayleigh with his friendship when she needed it most. Overall I feel like you get a perfect package of broken hearts and promises in addition to new beginnings.
Unbelievable 5 stars
It was my first time reading this author’s book and I couldn’t imagine what book I ended up with
I did not read before Blurb nor reviews
You are looking at a lovely beautiful cover and a beautiful romantic Christmas story,
It’s more than that, this story was heartbreaking and so well written!
Brayleigh this girl’s life has not been a glorious, violent mother, jailed father
and girl traveled from foster family to foster family until she finally finds a home
She also finds friends and she also has a boyfriend
Zain this boy is a pure angel lovely sweet and helpful
Although he has a girl, he has been in love with his best friend girlfriend since he first met her
But his best friend invited her to a date before he could do it himself
At first, I really thought it was a love triangle, but this book is more deeper
Zain’s girlfriend is a complete witch and there are reasons why he couldn’t leave this girl behind
Brayleigh’s character is very cute
When it comes to Zain and Braileigh, it was a cute Christmas miracle
They are so cute together just the way I imagined them as they are on the book cover
Overall: It is very painful and concerns a subject we never want to talk about when we should
Story told Zain’s and Brayleigh point of views but someone else too
The end of the book was shocking, but the story goes on!
Thank you!
