Book four of this series is Devlin’s story. Having searched for her for so long, Devlin is stunned when the wife he loved and lost two thousand years ago finds him. Her memories are fully restored and Imogen is furious and hurt by what she views as his betrayal. What she doesn’t know – and what Devlin can’t tell her – is that unless she can forgive him and open her heart to him again, they will be lost to each other forever.
This is a great series with an interesting premise. The characters are likable and sympathetic. These males are 100% alpha but their women hold all the power. Although this is not my favorite book of the series, I did enjoy it and can’t wait for more.
I am voluntarily reviewing an advance reader copy of this book.
I like this series. Always an enjoyable read. Imogen being a vicar was certainly a new twist. This is a hot fast-paced read with a great ending. I received an advanced copy of this book from the author. I freely leave this honest review.
Great paranormal story with a Christmas feeling to it as well. This is the 4th book in the series and it’s done so it could be read as standalone but i definitively recommend to read the series in order as it help us to more of what are in stake beside their love life.
Devlin like his ” brothers” lost his wife 2000y ago in atrocious conditions, now he is looking for knowing that if she can’t remember their love she will be lost forever….Devlin is protective and used to act first, think after….he never knew what happed in Zaria in her first life since he was thrown in the abyss by Gabriel after having been striped of his wings. By the way Gabriel is still a jerk…..for an archangel is sure isn’t very helpful and i wonder if his actions 2000y ago were not led by pure jealousy…..because he sure wasn’t forgiving and very judgemental.
Devlin is focused on protection Zaria, even thinking about preventing her to remember but when she suddenly appears remembering it all and being a vicar he isn’t sure how to react while his feelings haven’t changed at all.
Imogen is terrified of heights and has nightmarre of dying so after reading an ad she decide to try it but not where it was said in the ad because she is a vicar and fear the consequences it could have his people knows she could accept idea of past life. Result: she remember everything…all her precedent lives and of course the first one when she was Zaria a prostitute who fell in love with an angel…and of course its tragic ending for a sin that wasn’t hers.
Imogen is furious against Devlin but still in love with him however the betrayal feels too fresh for her to trust him.
She knows he has changed and she wants time to think about it since it’s all new and she is busy at Christmas time of the year….;however time is the issue and it take an invasion of demons to make her realize that faith is all what she need.
There is action ( no stopping), romance, some banter and we get to see characters from precedents books as well as insights of what is about to happen so this is really a excellent story read in one sitting that i would recommend with pleasure.
I really love this book. I need to read the others. I love how you bring a 2000 year old story to present and make us feel as if it’s us right there with them. Delvin and Imogen make thus story worth the read. Their love is put to so many tests that we have to see how it turns out. I can’t wait for the next one. I absolutely recommend this to all my friends. I give it 5 stars. I voluntarily read and reviewed this book as an Advanced Reader’s Copy.
3.5 stars–UNWRAP ME is the fourth instalment in Nina Croft’s adult STORM LORDS paranormal/ fantasy, romance novella series focusing on a tight knit group of fallen angels who work for Stormlord Securities. This is fallen angel Devlin Royce, and Reverend Imogen ‘Zaria’ Lockley’s story line. UNWRAP ME can be read as a stand alone without any difficulty. Any important information from the previous story lie is revealed where necessary although I recommend reading the series in order for backstory and cohesion.
SOME BACKGROUND: Over two thousands years earlier a small group of angels fell in love with a number of human females but in order to extend the female’s time on Earth, the angels stole the Elixir of Life thus eliciting revenge from Gabriel and the Heavens above. Having drank from the Elixir of Life, the human females were destined to live and die a thousand lives. The Storm Lords series follows the now fallen angels, as they struggle to find the women they love and rekindle the romance within five days of meeting, before the thousands years of the Covenant comes to a close, and the fallen angels owe eternity to the Queen of the Abyss.
Told from dual third person perspectives (Imogen and Devlin) UNWRAP ME follows the rebuilding relationship between fallen angel Devlin Royce, and Reverend Imogen ‘Zaria’ Lockley. Imogen Lockley is deathly afraid of heights but the recurring dreams and nightmares point to the reality that was once her life. A magazine advertisement regarding ‘regression hypnosis’ caught our heroine’s attention, and the ensuing fall-out forced Imogen to face the past and the current truth about the recent arrival of the man who destroyed her life. Enter fallen angel Devlin Royce, and the man with whom Zaria was once in love. What ensues is the rekindling romance between Devlin and Zaria, and the potential fall-out as the five day countdown quickly escalates as Lilith releases her demons onto the Earthly plane.
UNWRAP ME is a quick read; a fast paced story of second chances. With the approach of the holidays, Imogen doesn’t have time to think about the how and whys but questions Devlin’s arrival so near to Christmas. Unable to reveal the entire truth, Devlin struggles to convince Imogen to give him a second chance, a chance that would save both of their lives.
We are reintroduced to Devlin’s fellow fallen angels including Killian, Bryce, Caden Wolfe and Phoebe (Remember Me #1), Torrin Stormlord and Bella (Return to Me #2); Finn and Rachel (Release Me #3) , Queen of the Abyss Lilith, and the angel Gabriel. The head of the parish council John Griswald is enamored with our story line heroine but John’s future has been set and it doesn’t look pretty. And the ‘Easter Eggs’ are funny including the use of the name Griswald, Rachel and Phoebe.
UNWRAP ME is an imaginative story of redemption and second chances; good vs evil. The premise is entertaining but the quick conflict resolution felt rushed. There are a few plot points that needed some more fleshing out but such is the nature of the beast that is a novella. The action is brief; the $ex scene is passionate without the use of over the top, sexually graphic language and text. If you are a fan of angels and demons, and second chances Nina Croft’s STORM LORDS paranormal/fantasy novella series is a great addition to your reading library.
