I voluntarily reviewed an Advanced Reader Copy of this book given to me by the author. This was a enjoyable book. The heroine, Claire, starts out as not very likable, though that’s the intention of the story, without her bad behavior in the beginning, the book wouldn’t “be”. Even realizing that intention, without the excellent Alpha Hero, Tobias, I may not have kept reading long enough to see Claire transform/grow as a person since I didn’t like her or feel inspired by her at the beginning. After she starts changing, it definitely improves the enjoyability factor. Tobias is so perfect in so many ways & that’s what kept me reading, Tabitha Kiss can sure write a perfect book boyfriend! I loved Charlie’s farm, I even liked Charlie, the rest of the characters were just background noise to advance the plot & didn’t inspire me to want to know more about them. I missed the humor that the author normally interjects into her books. This book felt a bit on the heavy side. The flow was great for the most part, except some detail hiccups in the book. (Example- the horseback riding scene, in reality it’s very awkward for 2 people to ride “in” the saddle together- the saddles aren’t normally big enough for 2 adults, especially if the man’s in front since he risks his privates banging into the pommel/horn of the western saddle or riding on the pommel & stirrup bars of the English saddle, usually a second rider sits behind the saddle on the loins of the horse & generally riding double is at a sedate pace, not to mention it’s hard on the poor horse to carry 2 adult riders, also people should never ride double on a temperamental horse like they did!) Thankfully it was just one scene of horseback riding. So apparently the author is not familiar with being around horses. Riding double on a motorcycle is way easier & smoother than doing so on a horse, a horse’s movements tends to move the rider around a bit in the saddle seat in different ways depending on the pace of the horse, as an example a trot is an up/down movement. The only comparisons to each other would be gripping the waist of the person in front. But overall still a great read if you can ignore the hiccups.
