The Rise of an Incubus King Business school is not for Daniel. Not after making the cover of Teen Model. The only problem is that his parents don’t agree, and Daniel skips school to set his plans for fortune and fame in motion. Sexy story with some twists!
Daniel makes an unfortunate choice that makes life really different than he expected. He finds out about a whole world of supernatural creatures that he would never have imagined. Daniel doesn’t start off as a very relatable MC for me, but he grew on me through the book.
One of the things I really liked about this book is the interesting and detailed world-building. The modern setting AU makes the Cubi part of the world even better for me. There are several characters here that I’m looking forward to following into future books. The writing is really good, the plot is absorbing, the supporting characters are well done, and there is plenty of steam! Can’t wait to read book 2!
Untouble Beauty is the first book in The Cubi series by Meraki P Lyhne. I was drawn into the intriguing world of Cubi from the start. The lust, the hunger, the sex…the drama. Daniel has alot of learning to do and I am excited to read more of the series and see how everything unfolds. Seldon has definitely tripped interest and his connection with Daniel has me hooked and ready for more.
This was my first book from this pen name, I have been following Meraki’s Dark books and the difference is as night and day, as intended.
Daniel is nineteen and makes one bad decision, which sends him in to a world where beauty is everything and all he wanted was a chance for fame and to be desired.
Joining Daniel in to the Cubi world and seeing everything for the first time along with learning the ropes was filled with humour, steam and a good dose of angst. It also held a warmth as Seldon and Daniel gets to know each other, and figure out how to live together.
The book is very well written, I felt for characters I got to know, each having distinct personalities and the beginning of a world building that I’m sure will expand as the story continues.
Great story in a interesting world and cultureI have really enjoyed both books in this series. The author has built a great world and culture, and you learn about both as the main character does. Slaves can have a pretty good life so long as they don’t cross the line, As Danial witnesses one slave being punished.
Great descriptions and characters, always want to turn the page and find out more about the world and its people.
First time reading a book of this type…read alot of paranormal/ sci-fi/fantasy books. Kept my interest. Can’t wait to see what happens to Daniel and Seldon in thr next book and how the plot plays out…these books not for the faint of heart!! But definitely worth the read!!
The author has created an incredible world for the Cubi but if you are a human, it is not at all an hospitable world for you. Seldon is one of those characters like Dracula – you can see the attraction when he chooses to turn on the charm, but his behavior is totally amoral when you actually examine it. Daniel is a rather difficult character to like but that is partly due to age and partly due to the fact that he depends on his looks to get ahead rather than developing other aspects of his personality. When he encounters Seldon and the world of the Cubi, he will be tested in ways he never dreamed of and be forced to examine himself, his life and the future. In this first book in the series, there is an element of Stockholm syndrome in the way Daniel begins to behave and cope along with hints that he and his relationship with Seldon will be an unstoppable change agent in this world.
This series contains 9 books revolving around Daniel and Sheldon a 400+ year old Succubi. Personally it was a little difficult getting into this series. The Incubi and Succubi are the hierarchy and are brought humans as slaves to feed from. Daniel is supposed to be protected by Sheldon but as a young adult he is a curious person and want to learn more. Daniel is considered an Untouchable and is to be train to be a companion for the Cubis. Daniel becomes a Changeling by being dosed accidentally. Each book following tells of the changes and things Daniel goes through and sexual exploits. There are a few times you have to think back to get the sequence of events and figure out who is who but overall it keeps you enthralled to the end.
This ain’t no lame-o incubi!
Phew!
I like when authors think outside the box, and present stories that give a fresh or different perspective on old ideas.
I won’t rehash what the story was about… Blurb’s job, not mine. But I will tell you, I liked the balance of light and dark themes. There were some pretty heavy (themes) including, kidknapping, torture, and what some might consider dubious consent. But, you are embarking on a tale about incubi & succubi, not Mary Poppins.
Again, I thought it was great! Love the characters and how the Cubi hierarchy is explained. Since this is the first book of the series it actually ended with a bit of a stiffy… I mean, cliffy! Bwahahaaaa…. Looking forward to the next.
Adult minds only for graphic mm & mmm scenes. Delicious !!!!
