New York Times bestselling author Brenda Novak returns to Silver SpringsSometimes starting over means finding everything you’ve been missing… a tall, dark stranger she meets at a trendy Miami bar. Embarrassed by her recklessness, she ducks out the following morning without learning the guy’s full name, something that shouldn’t have been a problem…until a pregnancy test turns positive.
Being a professional football player, Hudson King has always been cautious around women. But this one had been different—so disinterested in his celebrity, so convincingly into him. When Ellie tracks him down, claiming she’s carrying his baby, he’s stunned. And more than a little betrayed.
But after growing up as an orphan, he’ll do anything to stay involved in his child’s life, so he urges Ellie to move to Silver Springs, where they can co-parent. Hudson has a lot of love to give, certainly enough for his child, and when their initial spark reignites, perhaps for Ellie, too…

First of all I love Brenda’s books and this one is no different. I first found her through her Whiskey Creek series and her books just keep getting better now with her Silver Spring series. This book starts out shortly after Ellie has found her fiance in bed with another man. In order to cheer her up her best friend takes her to a nightclub where she is totally out of her element. After a chance encounter and one night stand with Hudson King, a famous NFL quarterback (who Ellie has no idea who he is) ends in a pregnancy, Ellie is certain she’ll raise the baby on her own as she doesn’t know the name of the guy she slept with, until she happens to see him on tv. Hudson has a hard time trusting people after being abandoned as a baby and at first doesn’t believe Ellie, but wiyh chemistry like that it makes it hard to stay away and as the live together and work to discover the truth about Hudsons past they learn to trust each other and fall in love. I received an arc of this book from author and am viluntarily reviewing. Definitely a must read!
I love Brenda Novak’s books–especially when there’s a football player!
After finding her fiancé in bed with his best friend, Ellie is dragged to a night club for a much needed girl’s night. Little does she know that that one night would change her entire life. I’m not a fan of football so I did appreciate that the story focused more on Hudson’s personal life vs. his professional one. I love a strong and intelligent female lead. I loved how Ellie stood her ground with Hudson. That’s not to say that I agreed with all of her decisions. While I did like Ellie and Hudson as a couple, I wished there were a few more scenes (especially early on) where they had a few more deeper conversations. I would’ve liked to have seen those worked in rather than the time jumps. It would’ve swayed my rating a bit higher. El and Hudson are my favorite Silver Spring’s couple and I wouldn’t mind catching up with them in the future. I know at the end of this series I am going to NEED a Silver Spring’s reunion!!
3.5 bumped to 4. Book three in the Silver Springs series. Like the first two, it is filled with engaging characters, a plot line that is familiar but with a bit of a twist, a subplot that is appalling, and small-town charm.
Ellie Fisher just had her engagement broken after catching her fiancé in HER bed with his BFF. She is now sitting at a nightclub trying to start over. Hudson King is in town for a game with the Dolphins and to meet a new agent. He’s sitting in a nightclub wondering how much longer he can stand to be there and looking for a way to gracefully bow out when his attention is drawn to a woman sitting by herself. Neither one of them has any idea how the rest of the night will go nor how much it is going to impact their lives.
I loved that Ellie is an intelligent, independent science nerd. She has no idea about anything pop culture. It’s that ignorance that initially draws Hudson in; she’s one of the few people on the planet that has no idea who he is. Hudson has a lot of baggage, which tends to make him unreasonable. However, after he’s calmed down he usually is a reasonable person who genuinely tries to do what is right. They are pretty much polar opposites. Until You Loved Me is a story of healing and forgiveness. It’s engaging and entertaining with some pretty heavy drama, but that drama doesn’t take over the story.
My favorite one so far in this series (although I tend to think that with each book, lol). Great story.
Until You Loved Me (Silver Springs, #3) was another great read by Brenda Novak. Ellie caught her fiancé and fellow scientist cheating on her with another man. She decides to indulge her wild side by having a passionate one night stand with a stranger she met at a bar. In the morning, she becomes embarrassed and leaves without finding out his name. Although she things of their night together, she decides to move on without any problems. That is until she finds out that she’s pregnant. Hudson is a football player who has always been cautious with women. After Ellie finds out she’s pregnant, she’s able to track him down and tell him about the baby. Hudson doesn’t take the mews well. After some time they come up with a plan to be involved in the child’s life. Ellie moves to Silver Springs with Hudson, so they can co-parent. Hudson and Ellie aren’t able to fight their attraction. I can’t wait to read more by Brenda Novak.
I am fast becoming a huge fan of Brenda Novak. I am in the process of reading the Silver Springs series as New Year project. I love her writing style and her characters. I was not so sure I would enjoy this book as much as the others I have read previously since I am not a pro-sports fan at all. Especially right now, in the time of the year I read this book, the pro team from my state has once again lost the first round of playoffs, which has made all the sports fans grumpy and difficult to deal with! However, I was so wrong. This book having a main character, Hudson, as the quarterback of a professional football team was just the thing to get me through the grumpy people around me! The book does not focus on football. It is just the “job” the character does for a living and it does not define him as a person. His worth is so much more than the fact that he can play ball very well. He is a great person because of his past and he has an open heart to most people, but is not one to commit to love anyone (also because of his past).
The other main character, Ellie is a gem! I immediately loved her, when he was talking to a star quarterback and had no idea he was famous. That would be me also! She is a scientist and a beautiful person, inside and out, and she is just what Hudson needs to complete his life.
This is a great romance story with a background of a mystery. I enjoyed it so much and now am looking forward to the next book in this fantastic Silver Springs series!
I was totally engrossed in this book. Brenda does a great job of writing a love story featuring two endearing characters – Hudson & Ellie. I loved reading this…and I loved the bit of mystery as we try to figure out more about Hudson’s past. Another great addition to the Silver Springs series.
I checked out this ebook from the library and am voluntarily sharing my honest review.
A wonderful book,I never put it down, not once
This was a book where I can honestly say, “I didn’t see THAT coming”. I can usually predict the “element of surprise”, but this book had me taken back a bit. I LOVED it!
Until You Loved Me is a beautiful romance story between Hudson King, a professional football player who has trust issues, and Ellie Fisher, a scientist who just got out of a long term committed relationship. Right away I really liked both of their personalities, I thought they were a great match for each other. Hudson tries to stay hidden at a bar when he notices Ellie sitting on her own, and he decides to approach her. Ellie has no idea he is a famous NFL player, but feels an attraction and decides to spend some time with him. I loved that she didn’t know who he was, and that was also the main reason why Hudson really liked her. She decides to spend the night with him, which is something so out of her normal behavior. However a couple of weeks later the pregnancy test turns positive.
When she finally figures out who Hudson really is, she has some doubts if she wants to notify him in fear of him suing for custody. Hudson is still scarred from what happened to him in the past. I could totally understand why he had trust issues and tried to keep a distance. When they finally meet again, things get very heated and not in a good way. Hudson says some things that are very out of line, and my heart broke for Ellie. When they finally come to a decision about the future of their baby, things start to go the right way. I loved the way their relationship developed. The author did a great job with this book, I also loved the mystery aspect about Hudson’s past. It added an extra element to the story which I really enjoyed. I am looking forward to reading the other books in the Silver Springs series.
Each book is better than the last as you read this series. I absolutely loved this book! Right from the beginning you feel for Ellie. Then as you read along you start to root for her. This is a book that is very hard to put down. With the limited time I get to read, I would catch myself wondering what was going to happen next. I would recommend this book to anyone that likes a sweet romance with a few hurdles thrown in.
I love it! Great books! Can’t wait for a new Silver Springs book
This book was soo good. I loved every minute of it!
Brenda Novak is always a sure bet.
Brenda Novak is a extremely talented writer
Brenda Novack has become one of my favorite authors
Kept my interest all the way through.
A very enjoyable read with likable characters. Well paced story. I was concerned by the very deep chasm in which the characters started, but the author expertly managed to bring them together in the end.
Easy read but one of those books that entertains you and makes you remember why you read in the first place. Just to enjoy and not think!
