I’ve been following this series from the beginning and this one is my favorite! I loved it so much and read it in one sitting. Couldn’t put it down!
Livvy thinks she’s got her life figured out and has everything planned. Then she meets Mason and her plans don’t work anymore.
Mason was awesome. I loved how protective and concerned with her he was from the beginning and I loved that he was writer.
I really liked how their relationship progressed and the ending was worth waiting for.
Highly recommend.
Ms. Moore is an excellent story-teller! I love the characters she creates and the situations she puts them in.
In this story the main characters become friends but both are interested in more… but don’t want to go further because his life is hundreds of miles away in a big city and hers is here in a small town.
Against their better judgement, they fall in love. But it’s doomed, right??
I loved this book! I love this whole series and this is probably my favorite! The characters were great and I loved the progression of events. I liked that this story didn’t follow quite the same formula as some of the other books in this series. This book was so hard to put down and I enjoyed every minute of it! So excited to read the next in the series. Highly recommend.
Very good, clean romantic book. Different twist to plot. Would highly recommend. Hard to put down until you finish it.
I received an advanced copy and am freely giving my review.
I enjoyed reading Until We Kissed. The main characters were likable, but fallible. The plot was character-driven and progressed nicely. I love the setting of Pine Valley, a small mountain town. There was one place that a character started to say something mildly offensive, but was cut off. I was given a copy of the book. I chose to write a review and share my opinion.
Until We Kissed (2019) by Heather B. Moore is the sixth book in her Pine Valley series. This book comes in all forms including eBook, and is 210 pages in length. With a full-time job and a busy six-year old, this book took me two days to read. I received a copy of this novel in eBook form from Mirror Press Publishing via Kathy at Clean Wholesome Romance/ I Am a Reader. In no way has this influenced my opinion of the story. All opinions expressed in this review are my own. I give Until We Kissed 5+++++ STARS. This book is a Contemporary Clean Romance.
Oh. My. Word!!! Until We Kissed is a FANTASTIC romance. I loved every single minute of this story, and I’m debating whether or not to re-read it again right now (fiddlesticks, you heavy review schedule!!!). I have loved every book in the Pine Valley series, and with each latest installment I keep thinking it is my new favorite, but I can tell you with confidence that Until We Kissed is the best book in this series (so far … LOL!). Heather Moore knocked this romance out of the park!
My favorite aspect to this novel is how happy it made me. I definitely ended this book with a big smile on my face. To me, Until We Kissed checks off all the boxes for the perfect clean contemporary romance. There are hilarious moments where I laughed out loud. There are moments I stressed quite a bit for the main characters. And, there are moments where my heart swooned and I got a little weak in the knees — the kisses in this book are THE BEST!!! Until We Kissed also follows one of my most favorite story lines: boy and girl meet, girl insults boy, boy keeps showing up but girl already has a boyfriend. I love this story line because I know with every fiber of my reader-being that the boy and girl are each other’s “The One,” and they need to be together. But how will they get to their happily ever after?! Until We Kissed does a wonderful job of keeping the reader turning pages just to see how Livvy and Mason’s story ends. I adore when a book keeps me turning pages well into the night way past bedtime!
I’ve said it before several times — my favorite hero is the man who pays attention to details. I don’t think there is anything sexier on earth than a man who sees and acknowledges what’s truly important to a woman and then acts accordingly. Mason is a hero who sees and acts. He is a prolific and best-selling author, which means details are his thing. Because details are his thing, he tends to be a little bit of a worrywart when it comes the the people and issues he cares about. Mason’s worrisome nature is quite endearing and made me love his character all the more. I love when a guy does things like worry about the girl he cares about being cold or hungry or bored. I love when the guy then tries to fix things for that girl — by bringing an extra jacket just in case or purchasing a bag of yummy muffins for her just because. The other aspect to Mason’s character that I love so much is his acceptance of Livvy, flaws and all. Livvy is intelligent, independent, and beautiful, but she is also a little bossy, stubborn, and sort of stuck in fantasy land. But to Mason, Livvy is exactly the woman for him. He loves her in spite of her flaws because the flaws are part of what makes Livvy “the one” for him. I love when a man accepts the woman just as she is.
Until We Kissed is the perfect clean-read romance novel to escape into this holiday season. It’s well-written, the characters are endearing and sweet, and the kisses left me breathless. I highly, highly recommend this book. I know that if you are a fan of good clean-read romances, then you will totally love Until We Kissed.
I have heard great things about the Pine Valley series, but this is the first book I’ve read in the series. What a fun plot, librarian falling for a writer. Mason is such a great guy, even though he hasn’t had the greatest role models in his life. I am so grateful Livvy was able to find a guy who saw and loved her for her. They are both great characters who deserve a HEA. It was fun getting a glimpse into the life of a writer as well. This was a fun sweet romance and I look forward to reading the rest of the series.
This is my first Pine Valley book to read and it’s #6, yikes I can see what I’ve really been missing. This book was so atmospheric, I really felt as though I was in Pine Valley in all that cold, piling up snow and as if I were drinking hot chocolate right along with Livvy. Can’t go wrong with hot chocolate, or any type of chocolate really. This is Olivia, but she goes by Livvy, she’s a librarian and Mason’s story. I really loved seeing the character development . Livvy has had a childhood fantasy of being the perfect doctor’s wife. She’s carried that fantasy with her into adulthood passing up dates with anyone but doctors. We know she’s passed up a lot of great guys out there. Dating Dr. Selfish Put Livvy Last In Importance aka Doctor Dr. Slade McKinney is what she wants he’s perfect for her, she’s snagged her doctor. But is it what’s best for her and is it really what she wants? He’s a doctor so he’s always on call and is often late for dates and has to leave in the middle of dates. he also doesn’t make time often enough for her. When fate has a different plan for her she doesn’t realize it yet but she will soon in the form of hunky lumberjack looking writer, Mason Rowe. He’s been ordered by his publicist to break his writers block and rent a cabin in beautiful snowy Pine Valley to get his book written. Writing doesn’t involve librarian ladies, dating or socializing it entails full on relaxation and writing his book. But when Livvy and Mason seem to keep running into each other Livvy realizes Mason knows how to properly treat a lady and she actually has fun with him. Slade seems to be up for a challenge when he sees Mason may be interested in her and starts to spend more time with Livvy but he still breaks dates and needs to leave dates early. I really, really, had a connection with this book. I absolutely loved it. Will Livvy stay with Slade and not get the respect she needs or will things progress with Mason who is set to go back home to CA soon? I NEED to read more by this author now that I’ve discovered her!

I was given a complimentary copy , thank you. All opinions expressed are my own.
Ms. Moore’s book are so easy and fun to read. You get sucked in right from the beginning. There is humor, there is wit… The perfect mix of ingredients for an enjoyable read. It was great to see again the lovely people of Pine Valley. They start to feel like family and I get more and more hungry for their stories.
This is the story of Livvy, the librarian. Since childhood she has dreamed to marry a doctor and now is dating one. But Mr. Perfect Doc is not Mr. Perfect Boyfriend. Then Livvy meets Mason – who is a really cute and kind person and as a bonus happens to be one of her favourite authors. Oh, and the fact that he is handsome doesn’t hurt either.
It was fascinating to peek into the mind of an author – the process of creating a book, struggling with writer’s block, finding your muse. I liked the sweet and passionate relationship between Livvy and Mason – they were open with each other and despite all the hurdles and insecurities they didn’t let things go broken and unspoken. Oh, and the moment when he tells her what he likes about her was sooo romantic and sweet.
I also appreciated that fact that the author had to create a story within the story – she describes the plot of the book that Mason is writing. We don’t get too many details about it, but still it was a bonus treat for me as a reader.
Although part of a series, this book can be read as a standalone. Main characters from other books are mentioned, but you don’t feel like you are missing something.
Sensuality: overall clean, some passionate kissing
Religion: none
Narrative: 3rd person, following Livvy and Mason
I liked how the romance progressed and it felt real. The dialogue and overall writing was great. The author did well in showing the difference between the doctor and author and why the one was better for her then the other. The doctor was a cold fish, ha! I ‘ve enjoyed all the Pine valley romances. I’d say this would be a steamy clean PG romance because of a few make out sessions. If you’d like a light escape with a HEA then this is for you.
I absolutely adored this novel. You’d think after so many novels taking place in Pine Valley it would become stale, but Heather has created a way to make them feel very independent and the community one you love. The romance between Mason and Liv is delicious. It’s so sweet and syrupy, but yet such a delight to watch unfold. I loved the strength they drew from each and I had tears in the end.
I was quite surprised how much I liked Until We Kissed. I’ve been in a reading slump and have had a lot of preconceived notions about the books I’ve promised to review which puts a damper on any book. I was so happy to find that the characters were real and fun and flawed. It was like watching a dating train wreck at times and I was cringing as I watched. I found myself waiting to see what would happen next. Great book. I will have to read the rest of the series.
4.5 Stars. Clean with great kissing scenes.
A cute romance
Livvy thinks she needs to be a doctor’s wife in order to have a happy life. Slade is that doctor, although he doesn’t seem to put her first. Everything has to go his way. His time, his rules, his dreams, his goals. He’s really only perfect in her head, not in reality. Enter Mason, famous author with a serious case of writer’s block, and suddenly, she’s not sure of anything anymore.
I liked the book! Although Livvy did something quite rude almost at the end. And yes, she was being strung along by Slade, but she did some stringing along herself as well and that’s not fair IMO. Other than that, she was really likeable. The story flowed, was interesting and cute. Had Livvy not been stringing the guys along and had she not been so rude that time, I could maybe have LOVED the book instead of LIKE. I did love Mason and, of course, I disliked Slade 🙂 I liked reading about the process of writing. It was entertaining!
It works as a standalone perfectly fine. Alternating POV’s between Livvy and Mason, which I liked. The heat level doesn’t go beyond kissing and making out a bit.
Thank you for introducing me to the term ‘charley horse’. I’m not American and I had never heard of it. I like expanding my vocabulary!
I really enjoyed this story. I couldn’t figure out the attraction between Slade and Livvy at all. On either side. Livvy is obsessed with marrying a doctor and that is the only thing that makes him likable. I think Moore does a good job of showing that Slade is generally a good guy but not ready for an actual relationship. I mean, they have been dating for months and he kissed her one time. And then not again. Usually once you kiss, you continue to have kisses. He didn’t seem to crave her or her company. He is too involved in his work. But maybe someday when he meets the right person it will be okay. I loved how he wants to convince Livvy that she comes first with him and then answers his phone.
Livvy’s obsession with Doctors could have ruined her life really. Unless she found one that wasn’t married to his work. I was glad she figured it out before it was too late.
I really liked Mason. There were obvious sparks between Mason and Livvy. A much better choice for Livvy.
I was relieved with the ending. I was afraid that it would go a different way. Still a happily ever after but just different. The way it was written was perfect for their HEA. This book could be the premise for a Hallmark movie. Feel good style where everything ends up how you want it to.
No sex or violence
Language: only once that I can remember. mild.
Until We Kissed is yet another delightful addition to the Pine Valley series. This sixth installment tells the story of Livvy and Mason. I just loved those two together. This is such a fun and quick read. I give it five stars.
I received this book from the author, but was not required to write a review. This review is 100% my own honest opinion.
I received a free advanced copy of this book and am voluntarily providing my honest review.
I thoroughly enjoyed reading Until We Kissed! It is an unpredictable romance story that entranced me. The character’s were all special in their own way, and made the story. It was written beautifully, and I can’t wait to read more of Heather Moore’s books.
This story was very heartwarming. Mason is an author who visited Pine Valley so he could have some quiet time to write his next book. He had a bit of a writer’s block until he decided to try writing at the local library. He found his muse in the librarian who worked there. Only problem was, she had a boyfriend. I was hoping Livvy would finally wake up and see her boyfriend for what he truly was, an idiot. It was interesting to read about how she came to that conclusion. I liked how Mason was ever the gentleman but oh how I loved reading about their first kiss. A truly delightful story, one I can highly recommend to all you clean romance lovers everywhere. This was my first book read by this author and I plan to continue reading the rest of her books in this genre.
Livv’s dream since she was a little girl is to marry a doctor and finally she is dating Slade, a doctor in Pine Valley, but she always feels as the last thing in Slade’s life. When she mets Mason, a famous writer she feels an instant connection. She doesn’t know what to do, forget about her dreams and risk everything for a man that is only temporarily in Pine Valley? Can Mason find love again thanks to Livv? A tough and warming love story.
All of us dream about who we want to marry when we are young but as we get older those dreams tend to fade or adapt as we mature. For Livvy, her dreams of marrying a doctor are still as strong as they were when she was a child, to the point to where she is in a loveless relationship, only because of her boyfriends profession. As you’re reading the interaction between Livvy and Slade, you cringe, seeing the one-sidedness of the relationship. Slade is a complete jerk, putting his job first and not taking into consideration Livvy’s feelings, but what’s worse is that Livvy puts up with it for as long as she does! The thing that really got me is that he only kissed her a few times their entire relationship, which lasted for months! Are you kidding me?! That right there alone would raise a red flag for me and then how he starts giving her attention only after Mason starts showing her attention. How awful! No woman deserves to be treated that way.
Mason’s warmth, on the other hand, can be felt straight through the pages. You can see that he is a kindhearted man, immediately putting Livvy’s needs above his own, despite an incredibly tight deadline for his next book, and before he even started having feelings for her. There was one thing that did bother me about part of the storyline, which has to do with when Mason and Livvy finally get together, but to give details would be to give spoilers and I do not like to put spoilers in my reviews, and this detail did not ruin the story for me, but I do feel like it needed to be mentioned. Their relationship is sweet and I love that their friends celebrate the blossoming love.
Other than that one caveat, Until We Kissed is hands down my favorite book in the Pine Valley Series to date. The characters are charming and the premise is wonderful! I’ve always dreamed of being a librarian and for a librarian to fall in love with an author?! Swoon!! It is a quick, sweet read that will have you smiling through to the end. Highly recommend!
*I received a complimentary copy of this book in exchange for an honest, unbiased review. All opinions are my own.
Another great book in the Pine Valley collection. I really enjoyed this one. The story is about Livvy, who has always wanted to marry a doctor, the Doctor–her somewhat boyfriend who always puts her last right up until–Mason, the author of medical mysteries, shows up in town trying to get his writing muse back.
It has lots of romance and a great sense of humor. I thought the story was fun to read and didn’t always take the direction I assumed it would. The characters were really interesting and fun to get to know. I liked that Livvy grew as a person throughout the book. She was a great person to root for. I also really liked how it ended up. I’ve enjoyed all of the books in this group so far. They’re very romantic with great kissing and are still clean and sweet as well.
