Opposites don’t just attract… sometimes they BOOM!Valerie DawsonAll I’ve ever wanted is to make my father proud. All he ever wanted was sons. I’ve never felt like I was enough… then everything changes when I’m assigned to audit the Broken Eagle’s Motorcycle Shop and meet Rowan Pryor for the first time. The minute his eyes lock on mine, I know this gorgeous man is trouble. He’s looking at me as … this gorgeous man is trouble. He’s looking at me as if I’m his everything, his eyes telling me he’s thinking of a thousand ways to get me dirty. And I like it.
But I have plans for myself and none of them include some hot, motorcycle guy in a small town.
Rowan Pryor
I traded a broken past for a brotherhood I could count on. War changes people, bonds them together, so when our time in the Navy is served, I join my fellow SEALS in Nashville to help start up a motorcycle repair shop. A big city guy like me is enjoying a distraction free small town life. But then Valerie Dawson walks into the shop, wearing those nerdy glasses like it’s her mission to steal my breath away and I know I’m in dangerous territory. She makes me feel things I never thought I could feel and I am determined to make her mine.
I didn’t believe in love at first sight… Until Valerie.

Until Valerie Jessica Marin is part of the ‘Happily Ever Alpha World’ Series. This is the story of Rowan Pryor and Valerie Dawson. I have been jumping in and out of this series, so for me these have been standalone books.
Rowan is ex-military and ex-city boy who now is in a small town working at the Broken Eagle’s Motorcycle Shop in addition to joining their brotherhood. When he is told that an auditor is he isn’t thinking to much about it being a women but when he sees Valerie he feels the “Boom” that he has heard about…she is his. Valerie does audits as part of her CPA job so when she is sent to audit the Motorcycle shop she thinks she be around a bunch of old biker men…but instead she around eye candy….one important one being Rowan.
Until Valerie by Jessica Marin is part of the Happily Ever Alpha World. It’s definitely not required but if you have read Love at The Bluebird and met Aly Dawson, this book features Valerie, Aly’s older sister. I’ve been meaning to read this forever. I love the Happily Ever Alpha World. These books just do it for me. The heroes are always so full of OTT alpha awesomeness. And I just love it when the BOOM happens!
Valerie Dawson is an accountant for a large firm. She has been sent to Murfreesboro to the Broken Eagles Motorcycle Repair Shop to do an audit. It’s her first day there and she is being introduced to the two employees that help with their books. Her eyes instantly are drawn to one of them and she can’t look away. And when their hands touch, everything else fades away except her hand in his.
Rowan Pryor is an ex-Navy Seal. After his service, he followed some of his fellow Seals and went to work for the MC Repair Shop. Rowan had heard of the Boom. A few of his fellow brothers had experienced it. But never did he think it would hit him. Then he walked into that conference room to meet their auditor. One look and time stopped. Boom! That’s all it took.
“Rowan, this is crazy. I don’t understand what this even is.”
“Baby, this is the beginning of us.”
As Rowan and Valerie are just figuring out what their lives will be like now as a couple, it seems one person isn’t as happy with their newly found love. And when danger threatens Valerie, Rowan will do anything possible to keep her safe, even if he has to risk his own life to do so.
This was a sexy, sweet story. Rowan was swoony and amazing. This can be read as a complete stand alone. There is no reading order to the Happily Ever Alpha series. But if you enjoy it, I also highly recommend Love at the Bluebird and reading Aly’s story. I loved it.
The Broken Eagles Motorcycle shop is being audited, and the person doing the audit is Valerie. Valerie is determined to make something of herself, her main goal is proving to her father that even though she isn’t the male heir he wanted she is just as good if not better than any man can be. When Valerie first gets to the shop and locks eyes with Rowan, everyone else disappears for a moment and it just seems as if it’s the two of them in the whole world. Rowan has no clue what happened with Valerie walked in, but now he just knows that he wants to be in her presence as long as he can. Valerie is not going to let anyone distract her from her goal, but when Rowan is there one night to pick up the pieces she can no longer fight the attraction. There is no such thing as love at first sight, or is there?
I loved this story! This was a great introduction to Jessica Marin, as she is a new to me author, I will def be looking for more from her! With some danger, a bit of violence, drama and some really steamy naughty bits, this gets 5 stars from me.
This is my first book by Jessica Marin and I could not put it down. When Rowan Pryor finds out the motorcycle repair shop is being audited, he didn’t expect Valerie Dawson to be the one doing the auditing. Ever since she could remember, Valerie has been vying for her father’s love and attention. When she is tasked to audit are motorcycle repair shop, she didn’t expect to find her “Shazam”. But when a discrepancy arises, it will put there relationship to the test and loyalties will be tested. This book has a instalove feel and I love it. I love Rowan and Valerie so much and I’m looking forward to reading more from Jessica Marin.
Short and Sweet but with just a little bit of action thrown in! I enjoyed this light read with a sexy alpha!!!!
Shazam! The BOOM Strikes Again!
Sparks ignite with combustible passion in Jessica Marin’s contribution to the 2019 Happily Ever Alpha World! The road where mathematics meets mechanics is where Rowan and Valerie find their BOOM! Until Valerie is a well-written, sweetly romantic story with incredible characters and an HEA that will put a smile on your face and have you wishing your time with Rowan and Valerie didn’t have to end!
What an awesome story by this wonderful author! I loved Rowan and Valerie’s chemistry and their HEA was wonderful<3 This was a great addition to the "Until Series" from the Happily Ever Alpha World!
Rowan and Valerie have instant chemistry in this book.
There is laughs, drama, and steam, all rolled into one. The connection between these two is off the charts, HOT!
I loved how the story played out and thought the extra drama brought the book full circle.
I will be reading more from Jessica Marin!
BOOM!
4.5 Stars
This is another Until Series spinoff and it was so good!!! I loved Rowan and Valerie and their chemistry!! I loved how Valerie’s sister was explaining the “Boom” as shazam. And then how Z looked at Rowan and just said “BOOM”… lol I loved how they had a lot in common but how Rowan brought Valerie out of her shell. I liked just the entire feel of this book. And I am absolutely sure that Aurora is proud of this book as part of the spinoff series. – By Tina
I am completely new to Jessica Marin but couldn’t help but fall in love with Until Valerie. Valerie wants to make her father feel proud of her and focuses all her time on work and has no time to date. When she meets Rowan she has feelings for him right away but decides to be professional. However, Rowan knows she is his BOOM and does whatever is necessary so she can see it too. Although she knows it is crazy she decides to gove what they are both feeling a try. Really nice book and amazing characters and a great addition to the until series. I will definitely be checking more books from this author.
Jessica is one of my newer favorite authors and if you read this book, you will totally understand why. This story is filled with heat, suspense and such an intense love and devotion that I couldn’t put it down. Rowan and Valerie have nestled their way into my heart and have amazing chemistry. They complete each other in such a sweet and sexy way. You can feel the electricity sizzle through the pages anytime Ro and Val are near each other. Everyone should be lucky enough to find a love like that. Then their chance at forever is threatened and one shot could change everything, Rowan definitely could be my forever date. Jessica Marin is paving her way as one of the standout authors in her genre who leave a lasting impression love after the story ends.
This was fantastic!
I loved Valerie and Rowan’s story. The characters were great, the storyline was great, and the ending was great. It was just a great story all around.
If you haven’t read this, I highly recommend it.
I laughed, I sighed, and I got all the feels while reading Until Valerie. I could not put this book down. This book kept me so engrossed that nothing got done until the words “the end”. I loved Rowan and Valerie. Rowan wedged himself in Valerie’s heart, just like he did mine, and that was it.The BOOM was not expected as usual, but when it hit, they were both done for. These two steamed up my kindle and made me blush. They were perfect for one another. I loved this story. I enjoyed seeing old friends.
Until Valerie takes you off on a crazy awesome adventure filled with intense connections, twisted moments, and steamy heat.
I adored Valerie’s mix of sweet and shy confidence. She came across as both strong but yet vulnerable – which is something I stinkin’ love in my heroines.
Rowan has such quiet confidence that bloomed into intense protectiveness, melting my heart. He figured out she was his quickly and didn’t fight it – just set about doing whatever it took to make her his and take care of her the way she needed.
I couldn’t stop reading once I started — Rowan and Valerie kept me mesmerized to the pages and I had to see them through to their hea. This is another amazing addition to the Happily Ever Alpha World and I’m utterly delighted I got to experience it.
Although Jessica Marin is a new to me author, the “Until” universe is not since I have been a fan since “Until November” first came out. Playing in someone else’s universe, and incorporating well known characters while introducing new ones can be a really intimidating task, but I thought that it was handled fairly well in “Until Valerie”. It helped that the story remained firmly focused on the two protagonists, Rowan and Valerie and kept the more well known Until characters somewhat in the periphery.
For being an ex-SEAL and part of an MC brotherhood, I found Rowan to be an all around GOOD guy; the kind you want as a friend, brother and partner. I was waiting for his familial background to play a part in the story, which it did, just not in the way that I was expecting (which is refreshing). Valerie was completely relatable (well, except for a sister and mom who fill my closet up with expensive clothing), and I found her to be likable and sweet. Not gonna lie, I wanted to grab her and have a stern talk with her about her father issues. In fact, that is one of my quibble with the book. What the heck was up with the family situation? Why did the family allow her to be treated like that? That was one of the plot threads left dangling that could have been explored to make the story more fleshed out and the even better that it left me wanting more. This is not necessarily a bad thing, but there was a vague sense of disappointment at some things that were glossed over at the end. I was left thinking “Wait, I want to know what happened!” Again, not necessarily a bad thing to be left wanting more
Overall, I enjoyed the story and characters and thought it was a great addition to the expanded “Until” universe.
An ARC was provided in exchange for an honest and unbiased review.
I really liked this story by this new to me author!!! This is the story of Rowan and Valerie. Rowan works at the motorcycle shop….he really likes his job and his boss Wes and is happy were he is at. Valerie tries her hardest to measure up to her father’s expectations but always falls short no matter how hard she tries. She is an auditor and her next job sends her to a motorcycle shop and that is where she meets Rowan. The instant that their hands connect…..a spark was ignited. He knew that she was the one for him….his boom. She doesn’t understand and tries to deny it but even she can’t fight the boom. This story was amazing…..I laughed, swooned, teared up a bit. There was action, suspense and hot steamy moments. I can’t say enough great things about this book and I highly recommend this book to all. Well done!!!!
Rowan works for Wes, July’s husband at what apparently is the Magic Mike motorcycle shop…yes please. Valerie is the all business auditor that is sent there to audit the garage. As soon as he sees her, and I am not exaggerating, poor guy starts choking, he was that smitten with her. As soon as they shake hands, he knows she’s his Boom, the guys at the garage know too and tease him about it. She tries to fight it for about a hot second, but you just can’t fight chemistry.
This was a safe read, no ow drama, a minor bit of om, but Rowan works that out. Some good story suspense. A shout out to her friend Emma, she cracks me up. Their conversation about the Magic Mike of motorcycle shops, crack me up. Steamy, an epilogue and an hea. This was my first book by this author, but it won’t be my last. Such a fun read.
I voluntarily read and reviewed this book.
I found so many new authors to love through the Happily Ever Alpha World, and this is one of them. This is a totally new to me author, and if this story is an indication, I’m going to be digging through her previously published books! I totally enjoyed this story, since it had everything I love about MC romance. There were tough, hot bikers, a strong woman that is still a little vulnerable, and a mystery to be solved!
Valerie is a strong woman, but she has never been quite enough for her father. He wanted a son to take over the family business, and she just….isn’t. She has spent her entire life trying to live up to his expectations, and has never measured up. She decides to move on with her life, be happy with who she is, and live the way she wants to. Her job takes her to a motorcycle repair shop, where she spots Rowan, a former Navy Seal, who is more than he seems! He takes one look at Valerie, and understands what all the fuss is about! He is determined to make her his, no matter what stands in their way!
I totally enjoyed this book, and the glimpse we got of the Broken Eagles MC. Valerie and Rowan are amazing together, and I couldn’t help but love them. This was a fun story, with just enough mystery and drama to keep me invested. Another amazing book in the Happily Ever Alpha World!
Until Valerie is my first book by Jessica Marin, and it was the perfect introduction. A sweet and sexy Boom with cameos from some of our favorite characters in the book world is hard to pass up.
Summary:
Valerie Dawson has plans for herself, and they don’t include a sexy biker from a small town. From the time she could cogitate, Valerie has had one goal, to get her father’s love, attention, and pride. She’s worked toward that goal with a single-minded focus, at the expense of friends and a social life. When she’s assigned to audit the Broken Eagles Motorcycle Shop and locks eyes with Rowan Pryor, she knows she’s in trouble. Former Navy Seal Rowan Pryor left a painful past behind, joining a brotherhood he could rely on. War and losing friends has taught him what really matters and now he’s enjoying a quiet, small-town Tennessee life. But when the Club’s business puts him in Valerie’s path, he knows he’s both in trouble and exactly where he needs to be. Neither Rowan nor Valerie believed in love at first sight, but neither can they deny the lightning connection that arcs between them. He makes her heart race, and she steals his breath. Rowan can’t let Valerie get away. He’ll do whatever it takes to make her his, but she’ll have to believe in him. Believe in them. Especially when the career in which Valerie has worked so hard to succeed, threatens their growing relationship.
*************************
I was nervous to start Rowan and Valerie’s book partly because I’d never read Jessica before, and partly because novellas always make me nervous. I really worried for nothing. It didn’t take but maybe a paragraph before I was drawn into the story. Valerie was loving, loyal, and very down to Earth, but she was also vulnerable. Her acrimonious relationship with her father put pressure on her everyday life to always be better, but inevitably leaving her feeling inadequate. Rowan was protective, possessive, hardworking, and smart. He had a similar family history to Valerie, but going through war and finding his brothers of the cut taught him what was important in life and to move beyond what others expected of him. That Valerie and Rowan had similar backgrounds made their romance that much sweeter. It tied them together on a deeper level, and I adored the way their Boom happened when they met. Instant and jolting, even to the reader. While neither expected to find their forever, they also couldn’t deny the connection and intense chemistry between them. That chemistry worked for them in a big way, and we got some steamy goodness out of it, too. In the end, this was a quick read set in a world we’ve come to love. Despite everything happening quickly, I didn’t feel the story was rushed or missing any major components. I enjoyed getting to know new characters while also catching up with some of our favorite Until world characters like Wes, July, and Cobi. I was intrigued by Valerie’s sister and wouldn’t mind a story for her whirlwind romance. I also really liked Emma and thought she’d make a good heroine, as well. I have to admit that I did guess what was happening pretty easily, but I still enjoyed getting to see how Rowan and Valerie reacted. I also liked the hint of suspense and danger. My only complaint would be that I really wanted to see Valerie’s father get his comeuppance. After the negative feelings he created in Valerie, I wanted that moment when he realizes just how he screwed up with his own blood. Otherwise, I really enjoyed being in the midst of the Broken Eagles Motorcycle Club, the romance in particular, and I’m looking forward to checking out Jessica’s other books.
Jessica Marin bought the BOOM and a whole lot more, in this fantastic novella.
When I heard there was going to be another round of Aurora Rose Reynolds Happily Ever Alpha crossover novellas, I was thrilled. 2018’s series introduced me to so many new authors, as well as a stronger love for familiar authors that took part, and I couldn’t wait to see what 2019 was going to bring.
I’ve read and loved Jessica’s previous books and this story didn’t disappoint. Set in ARR’s Until world, Rowan Pryor has left his past as a Navy Seal behind to join his brothers working is Wes Silvers, Broken Eagles Motorcycle Repair shop. One day, in walks Valerie Dawson, come to audit the shop, she has to work closely with Wes and Rowan and from the second he lays eyes on her, Rowan knows the BOOM is real.
It’s lust at first sight for these two, but Valerie tries not to give in to her desire for Rowan, keeping her distance as much as she can. Unfortunately for Valerie, a Rowan doesn’t want her out of his sight, and does everything he can to get her to give in. When they finally begin their happily ever after, forces beyond their control start to meddle in their lives, trying to keep the two apart, but neither will let that happen. When the BOOM hits, no one can tear it apart.
I loved these characters, I loved the surprise storyline and I loved how seamlessly this fitted into the Until world, blending the characters together. A fantastic job Jessica, this is a story I will happily read over and over. I highly recommend everyone read this.
