Tequila: a distilled beverage made from the blue agave plant and, in Mary’s case, a truth serum. It took one night. No, it took one dinner, a bevy of cocktails, and a woman who’s been skirting me for months. Then, everything changed. Because the tequila did what it does best, Mary’s words flowed faster than the magic liquid she was shooting with salt and lime.Mary had demons—ones she thought were … she thought were buried. She thought wrong.
She can’t hide from her past or from me. Not anymore.
I’m Evan Hargrove and I’ll turn the world red before I let anything happen to her.
This is a Killers Series Crossover Novella written for the Happily Ever Alpha World of NYT Bestselling Author, Aurora Rose Reynolds.

Mary and Evan are stunning!
Evan and Mary are one of Brynne Asher’s sexiest couples, and Evan ranks right up there with Crew for my favourite book boyfriend of hers!
Evan’s desire to go all out to protect Mary made this one of my favourite books this year, and even though it’s a novella Brynne Asher brings EVERYTHING out to play.
Until The Tequila is everything its namesake suggests! Spicy, sexy, sweet, and so special it had me in tears by the end!
What a great fun read. This little book packed such a great punch that had everything from twists, turns, banter, wit, feels and steam. Mary’s character has gone through so much and I loved her emotions and feelings and they were so realistic to me. Evan was a great male character who had me swooning a bit. I really need to go back and read more of these novellas.
Until the Tequila is a crossover novella that brings Evan from Brynne Asher’s Killers series together with Mary, who has a bit of a connection with July Mayson from Aurora Rose Reynolds Until series.
I will say reading Vines by Brynne Asher would help with this novella because it will explain the push/pull relationship that Evan and Mary have. It’s angsty, broody, steamy, intense, delicious and sweet. Evan and Mary’s relationship has been a work in progress. In this novella, sparks then BOOM- fireworks. All I can say is, this is the money shot between them- romance wise. This novella has it all plus we get to see familiar faces from past characters books. Loved it!!!!
My Rating: 4.5 stars*******
Holy buckets of hotness…If you are the fan of the Killers novels, you have seen the chemistry between Evan and Mary light up. Evan has been chasing her for the span of a few novels as a secondary characters, leaving us on the edge of our seats for them to finally get their story. And get it then do…
Mary has all of her walls up, not getting close to many, but her friends keep chipping away and getting closer. And Evan has been dishing out wine at the winery asking her out…repeatedly..until one night…Tequila. Isn’t that what gets all of us? Evan wants to cherish and Mary, and when he finds out that trouble is looming…BOOM.
This book has great depth and doesn’t read like a novella…meaning it has all of the great elements of the story even though it is on the shorter side.
And we see some of our favorite characters pop in…double bonus!
Great read!
4 stars. This was a good book! Until the Tequila is Mary and Evan’s story. We met Mary and Evan in Brynne Asher’s other Killers series books and in this book we learn that Mary is best friends from childhood with July Mayson (from Aurora Rose Reynold’s book Until July). Evan is the tasting room supervisor at the winery and Mary is a hairdresser and good friend to many of the winery staff. They two have circled each other and flirted in the past, but Mary has been a bit resistant to starting a relationship. Evan finally convinces her to go out with him, but she is so nervous she drinks too much tequila and gets terribly drunk. She accidentally spills some secrets about her past while intoxicated and what Evan learns about her only strengthens that he wants to love and protect Mary forever. He must convince her to give an HEA with him a chance.
I really liked Evan and Mary. Evan is a great guy. He really adored and never gave up on Mary. She did resist him for awhile, but she eventually gave in. They were very sweet together. This book was an entertaining, easy read. There was sweetness, sexiness, and a dash of humor and suspense. I really enjoyed it!
Overall, this was a good little novella! I really love the Killers series and have enjoyed the books in the Happily Ever After kindle world. I am looking forward to whatever Ms. Asher comes up with next!
5 ‘The Tequila Made Me Do It’ Stars
Yayyyyyy!!! Finally Evan and Mary’s story is here and it is EVERYTHING! All my anticipations for these two were surpassed. So much more than just a novella, Until The Tequila is the WHOLE romance package!
After first reading about Evan and Mary in the first of the Killers’ series, Vines, I was instantly craving these two’s very own book, well I got my wish in FULL on fulfilment. They were already intriguing characters there, but in this novella…Wow… They were SO much more. Their cat and mouse gave they had been going on for months was the perfect build up for this story, because we truly got to see and witness their BOOM. And what a boom… It’s all on the tequila! LOL
Brynne Asher sure knows how to pack all punch of emotions of a novel sized story in a novella, because that definitely was what we got in Until The Tequila.
All the emotions, all the rawness of feelings and impact of their chemistry was there and then some. Evan and Mary – specially Mary with her struggles and her troubled past – were such amazing and complex characters. And Evan… OMG, this man completely stole my heart. Never once while reading Vines did I expect this level of ALPHA manliness from him. Seriously, best book boyfriend material. He knew what he wanted from the very beginning, never gave up of slowly getting his change, and when the time came, BANG! He revealed his OTT Alpha male and took his girl… swoon!!!
Until The Tequila fits like a glove not only in the exceptional original series of Brynne Asher’s Killers, but also in this fantastic world of the Happily Ever Alphas – it was amazing to see Aurora Rose Reynolds’ July and Wes again, and how beautifully they connected with these two -, and their BOOM. Raw, emotional, witty and fast paced but still deeply intricate, and so full of steam and passion, this novella wrapped all this up so perfectly that left us wanting even more of this world and these characters, that’s how fantastic it was! <3 <3 <3 <3 <3
Devoured. I devoured this story.
Mary is the girl who thinks she isn’t worthy. But Evan is just the man to convince her otherwise. When Mary’s past comes back to haunt her, Evan pulls out all the stops to make her his and keep her safe.
This is a fast-paced novella full of steam, heart, humor, and a dash of suspense. Mary and Evan are a perfect example of ‘opposites attract,’ and boy, do they ever! If you love those alpha males who know exactly what they want and stop at nothing to get it, you’ll fall head over heels for Evan. If you like strong heroines who march to their own beat with hearts of gold, you’ll love Mary. And these two together…perfection!
Ok where to begin yes this is a novella and yes it was a FABULOUS novella. Brynne Asher really knows how to write a story that sucks you in, and keeps you captivated until the very end. Even though this is a novella it sure does not feel like it with everything that takes place.
Mary has had a rough start to life and refuses to let anyone in. She has built walls around herself, but that does not stop Evan from tearing them down 1 brick at a time. He is relentless when it comes to her, and he proves to her just what life could be like. Her past does make an appearance, but with Evan and all of her friends they show her they are there for her through thick and thin.
Oh, how I fell in love with these characters from the very beginning. Mary has had it rough. She has learned that nothing good is supposed to happen to her so she is extremely hesitant to let Evan in. But Evan won’t let her push him away. He breaks down her walls and proves to her that she deserves something good. He won my heart at the same time he won Mary’s.
I can’t wait to read more of The Killers series!
This was soooooo good! So, so good.
I loved the storyline, I loved the characters, I LOVED the ending, and I just loved it in general.
My only complaint if I had to have one was that it wasn’t called Until Dandelions.
5 I WANT MORE STARS!! I love Evan and Mary they were perfect characters. The story will hit all you emotion buttons with some mystery and suspense. This author does a fabulous job with this novella you are not missing anything.
Mary and Evan are another amazing couple who tug the old heart strings. Mary knows that is anything but easy, but when she learns her and Evan have a similar past she learns to open her heart and finally gives him a chance. But when Mary’s past comes looking for her, will she be strong enough to hold on to what her and Evan are building or will the past tear them apart.
Since we met Evan and Mary on Vines, I’ve been dying to get their story. Until the Tequila was everything I was hoping for with a cherry on top. Ok, so I wanted it to go on a lot longer but it only felt so short because I was loving it so much.
Mary had a reason for keeping people at a distance. Well, she thought she had a valid reason but fortunately for her, Evan never gave up.
I’m gonna be truthful here, I was sure I was going to love this story and love all the characters as usual in a Brynne Asher’s book, but I was not expecting to be totally blown away by preppy Evan.
“From now on, you’re not gonna be fine. It’ll be my mission to make sure you’re way more than fine, Mary. And I’m gonna start by making you mine.”
Hoo boy, did Evan take me by surprise! He was gentle in his pursuit of Mary but he was relentless, and when he decided enough was enough, he did not stop until he got his way. He was bossy, he could totally handle himself and he was sexy as eff. Evan was an understated badass.
I absolutely loved Mary and her sass, quirkiness and depth of heart and I’m ecstatic she got Evan to soothe her heart and soul and protect her.
There was not one thing I did not enjoy or outright-fan-girling-love about Until the Tequila. It had hot sexiness and sweet romance, action a bit of suspense and more than one laugh-so-hard-I-snorted moment. Everything in this story worked for me, and I can’t wait to read more!
*I voluntarily reviewed a complimentary copy of this book*
Oh my gosh!!!! I remember Evan and Mary from Vines and I am sooooooooo ecstatic that they have their own story!!!!
Learning Mary’s past…..ugh! My heart broke!!! She needed some good and Evan was the perfect man to give it!!! I loved how he was in her corner through everything!!!!
The plus side…..visits from old friends!!!! The epilogue was so beautiful!!!!!!
Another fantastic story from Ms. Asher!!!
Normally I’m not the biggest fan of short novella’s (I always want more, hihihi), but Brynne Asher is one of the authors I gladly make an exception for. Until the Tequila is part of Aurora Rose Reynold’s ‘Happily Ever Alpha World’ and of Mrs. Asher’s ‘Killers Series’. I’ve enjoyed the sweet (most of the time) story of Evan and Mary.
“Evan is my friend even though he’s the one person I’ve made it my number one goal to avoid. He’s my frenemy.”
Mary is a young hairdresser on the run. Her childhood wasn’t a happy one, and that has left its marks on her. But she has found a good place to life with kind people and a job she enjoys. Love? That isn’t on her radar at all, too bad there is a persistent wine connoisseur in town… Evan has grown up the opposite way of Mary. He has a loving family that supports him, and a job he likes. The colorful Mary is closed off, but Evan just can’t stay away from her.
“I thought I wanted her before last night. I had no fucking clue. But today? Today, I need her in a way I can feel in every cell of my body.”
Evan and Mary might seem an ought couple at first glance, but for some reason they just work. I feel sorry for Mary; every kid needs to feel loved and safe. It’s no wonder she tries to keep Evan at a distance for some time. I love how Evan doesn’t give up on her, and ‘sneaks’ his way into her life. Together Evan and Mary are adorable with some hot and sexy moments.
Until the Tequila is a short novella, but there’s a lot going on. There’s a sweet leading couple, a lot of characters from the authors other books, some of my favorite Aurora Rose Reynolds couples and a good old-fashioned villain. My only issue with Until the Tequila? It’s too short, I want to read more about Evan and his Mary. But overall, Until the Tequila is swoony, and perfect for a quick, weekend read.
“He doesn’t have to say it, although he does multiple times every day. He loves me.”
…. that moment when you open a book to start reading and you’re immediately falling head over heals into the story? Yeah, Evan and Mary’s hea story hooked me hard, dragged me in and kept me enthralled from word one to the end.
While Mary and I don’t share similar histories, I still totally connected with her just on her strength, stubbornness, and resilience. Her heart and inner beauty shown brightly no matter how much she felt tarnished at times. Evan (and everyone around Mary) saw that, and not only was drawn to that, but wanted to protect that.
Evan never gave up in his pursuit of Mary – she was going to be a part of his life, and he was going to make sure she was safely there, preferably wrapped in his arms. I adored his confidence, his determination, his respectfulness, and his heart – plus he had a few surprises up his sleeve that just really did it for me. haha!
I couldn’t have asked for a better story for Evan and Mary, nor a better addition to the Killers series (which at the moment ranks as my top fav series by Brynne Asher), nor a more delightful addition to the Happily Ever After/Until world.
“…and Mary, thanks for a fun night. I thought I wanted you before, but now? I can’t wait to make you mine. Be prepared.”
Y’all…. be prepared for a story that’ll not only entertain, but make you feel. I was giggling and heating up, and even had moments where the tears were streaming down. I’m already planning on when I can reread Vines and the rest of the Killers books through this one (including Until July from ARR as well) because I just don’t want to say goodbye yet.
A great quick read with lots of heat. Evan is sexy, hot and a total alpha male. Once he decides he’s done being patient with Mary, she doesn’t know what hits! Loved the chemistry and great storyline. A must read in this crossover series.
What a great novella by Brynne Asher. The Main Characters, Evan and Mary were so good together. Even tho this story isn’t long, what I love about Brynne’s writing is you get in-depth character development so that you can understand the MCs and not feel like the story doesn’t have enough detail. “Until the Tequila” is filled with romance and suspense – two of my favorite things in a book! Great addition to the “Until” and “Killers” series (However, you don’t need to have read any of those books before to enjoy this one).
Steamy, sweet, and fun novella!
Mary is sweet and fun loving. Used to being on her own, she isn’t ready to let anyone in. Especially not Evan. He’s too sexy and kind and sweet. He is constantly touching her secretly and saying things that make her wonder what life would be like. But she can’t bring him into her crazy life. Until the tequila says otherwise.
What an amazing read! Mary and Evan’s journey will captivate you! This is a definite page-turner! Twists and turns you won’t see coming. These two have so much passion between the two of them, you’ll definitely need a fan. Exquisitely written, Until the Tequila will grab you and hold on tight.
An excellent, quick, and steamy read from this author with a little suspense mixed in. I adored this story and loved seeing the familiar faces from The Killers series.
Although this read was a quick one, it was packed with an amazing story! I cannot recommend this book enough.
