Tequila: a distilled beverage made from the blue agave plant and, in Mary’s case, a truth serum. It took one night. No, it took one dinner, a bevy of cocktails, and a woman who’s been skirting me for months. Then, everything changed. Because the tequila did what it does best, Mary’s words flowed faster than the magic liquid she was shooting with salt and lime.Mary had demons—ones she thought were … she thought were buried. She thought wrong.
She can’t hide from her past or from me. Not anymore.
I’m Evan Hargrove and I’ll turn the world red before I let anything happen to her.

If you’ve read Brynne Asher’s The Killer’s series, you’ve already had a delightful taste of some of the characters that pop up here and some of the background history of this short crossover novella. More importantly, you’ve met this main couple before and will enjoy seeing them get their own HEA. But not to worry if you haven’t yet. It’s never too late to join this literary party.
This book can be considered a steamy stand-alone, but you’ll feel even more connected if you read The Killer’s series. Need another reason? One word, Grady! Oh, good gravy, he was amazing in book 2, Paths! It’s simply a great series, period, my fellow romance book loving friends. I do highly recommend each of those books.
What you get in “Until the Tequila” is a main couple who have been dancing around each other previously. This book starts off with all that mostly behind them, as Evan has finally had enough and starts making some bold, big, persuasive moves to get his girl. Their relationship is now fast tracked to the “I want to kiss the ever living daylights out of you all the time and know I want you forever” point. Well, that is certainly Evan’s line of thinking. Mary isn’t too far behind, except she’s waiting for her hard luck life past to come knocking on her door again. Well, it doesn’t matter if it’s the boogeyman man or not, Evan is going to face off with whoever or whatever is bothering his woman. Nope, he isn’t about to let anything happen to his lady love.
Though Evan isn’t part of the elite trained security force living nearby, he’s got common sense and muscles to flex all of his own. It certainly doesn’t hurt that awesome posse of ninja like warriors are more than willing to lend their special skill set whenever they see it is needed.
Numerous, graphic smexy scenes were very much in the spotlight here. It’s definitely an adult only read. The unfolding drama was more of a backdrop, until it peaked and briefly took the lead. I did love Evan’s protectiveness and deciding immediately not to back down when he knew trouble was looming in the near future.
Until next time, folks, I’m signing off. You can bet your bottom dollar I’ll be back. I simply can’t wait to take another shot of romance from this author, as she always seems to give me main couples I love to root for.

Asher has done it again! You’ll love the hills and valleys of this beautiful story. Mary and Evan are to die for people. Once you open this book; you never look back. Worth the sleeplessness of not able to put it down.
I have said it before and I will say it again – I adore Brynne Asher’s stories! Sooo much.
Until the Tequila is a novella, but it’s such a rich story it doesn’t feel like one. I was churning through the pages, smiling and laughing to myself and never once felt how I do sometimes in a novella, where I feel a little ripped off. Their story felt 100% complete. If you’ve read her Killers series you’re familiar with Evan and Mary – but if not, this one can definitely be read as a standalone..
I always enjoy the female characters from this author. They feel just as important as the hero. I love that! Mary is a perfect example of a strong, smart and funny woman. Evan is BBF perfection rolled into one. I love him. Simple as that. Just love him!
If you’re looking for a great quick read that still has substance then snap this up. Such a fantastic story.
Well Brynne Asher does it again…..a page turner that I devoured although I wanted to read it slowly and savor it. I absolutely loved the story of Mary and Evan. Mary tried to resist but Evan is persistent and determined and my oh my you can feel the chemistry. From the beginning you feel like you are reading a book about old friends…the characters you know and love and can’t get enough of. I’m completely addicted to the warm fuzzy feeling I get when I finish one of Mrs. Asher’s books….all the stars for this one!
Omg I had all the feels down to my toes reading this novella. I absolutely loved it and Brynne never disappoints with this crossover series.
The characters of Evan and Mary were perfectly crafted. They have a tug and pull kind of attraction but when they collided, fireworks baby!!! I devoured their lust in my greedy hands and was even more excited coming across Crew and Grady from the killers series. I so missed them.
Brynne your stories always keep me captivated. Now just keep on writing because we just need more.
I was so excited when we heard that we would be getting Mary and Evan’s story!! I have been intrigued with the chemistry between these two from the very beginning in Vines and to finally see their happily ever after was awesome! Even though their story was a novella, Brynne Asher has this amazing ability to give us all the feels and not let us feel like anything was missing.
I absolutely adored Mary and Evan together. After numerous rejections from Mary, Evan finally got his chance and broke through her defenses and got his date. And what a date it was, due to the distraction of her past coming into her present, Mary was shaken and caught off guard. This causes her to imbibe a bit heavily with the tequila and wine, and loosen lips. We all start to learn why Mary has been so closed off, my heart just broke for all she’s endured. And Evan, the protective and very possessive alpha that he is, is even more determined to have Mary as his own. What I really loved about Evan was his determination and conviction that they belonged together, even over Mary’s belief that they were too different.
Until the Tequila was fabulous and adding in seeing characters from Aurora Rose Reynold’s Until universe was an added bonus. And that epilogue, sigh… loved, loved, loved it all!
If you’ve read Brynne Asher’s book Vines in The Killers series, you’ve probably read about Evan and Mary and I so wanted to read their story for a long time. I was not disappointed (even though I wanted more). Like always, Brynne gives you a amazing book with a swoony protective Alpha male and a awesome heroine.
Since reading Vines, I’ve wondered why Mary was closed off. Her life was not easy. Poor girl went through a lot wen she was a little girl. But she was also a strong heroine. And glad she had Evan to help her.
Evan..swoon..so Alpha, possessive and protective of Mary and knew what he wanted and went for it.
He wanted Mary since he first saw her and didn’t give up “Until The Tequila”threw down her defenses.
Love their chemistry and the banter between them.
I had a huge smile on my face every time I read about Addy and The Killers (Crew, Grady and Asa). Freaking loved that so much.
Also one of my highlights was July and Wes’ cameo. July is Mary’s best friend from Tennessee. It was awesome.
This book is a novella, but it has everything; good storyline, amazing characters, suspense, protective Alpha, strong heroine and
STARS!!
Ever since I read Brynne Asher’s Killer Series I have always wanted, no NEEDED, to know how Mary and Ethan would end up. Boy did Brynne Asher deliver! Amazing, heartfelt, and a novella written with the amazing balance of the story not feeling rushed at all. I totally and completely fell in love (all over again) with these two and the ending, oh how the ending is mushy and perfect and made my heart sigh hugely (along with giving me a HUGE smile). Well written!!!!!!!!!
SO MUCH LOVE FOR THIS LITTLE BOOK!!!
Alright….alright….I know it’s a novella BUT it DID NOT read like one. It was captivating. It was heartbreaking. It was swoony. IT WAS HOT. It was everything I wanted for Mary and Evan.
I feel like I’ve been waiting forever for their story and it was delivered perfectly. How Brynne does it….I have no clue. What I do know is I never want her to stop writing. EVER. In the hours it takes me to read her books I’m transported to worlds that make me happy. Make me laugh. Make me flip waaaaaay the heck out. And make me wish for a world with real people like Mary and Evan in them.
Bravo Brynne…..another 5 read.
I’ve been waiting for Evan and Mary‘s story since Vines, and I can say that I was NOT disappointed! As usual, Brynne brought all the feels (and a desire for Diet Coke to my day).
Mary’s had a challenging life and has done her best to avoid Evan because she’s sure that they’re not suited for each other. Evan, on the other hand, has been waiting and trying for his shot with Mary since he first met her. All it took was too much tequila to give Evan the in he’s been waiting for…and a little bit of Mayson interference in the form of Mary’s friend. Once Evan gets Mary to open up just a little bit, he’s slamming that door wide open, breaking the locks off, and removing the entire wall that the door was on to keep Mary from hiding again. And Mary? Well, she just has to learn that love means doing anything and everything for the person who holds your heart, even if “anything” is allowing herself to love and be loved by Evan.
I love both these worlds Until and The Killers. I loved Evan relentless pursuit of Mary, the boy is a gluttony for punishment. Patience of a saint. He persisted multiple times I won’t tell you the amount in case it makes him sound needy and pathetic lol. I only read the Until series because I had read Until Avery by Brynne and I wanted to know everything about the Mayson clan. Hopefully this story makes ARR readers want to read The Killers series. Because of this story I have bumped Until July to the top of my TBR. Mary a little nuts, foster care child so she has trust issues but Evan see pass all of that. I loved the two of them together they make a great couple. Chemistry, lust and all that. This was a great read and even though a short story it still packed a punch
